00:00 If you know me, you know that I always go places with my glass.
00:03 My friends always get mad at me, but I'm like, "Shut up, it's such a Rihanna moment."
00:08 Hello Vogue, this is Rania, and you're following me today to go to the Vogue World Show.
00:20 First, we have to ice this face.
00:22 It's something I learned from my mom at a very, very young age.
00:25 This is how it works.
00:26 I get a couple of tissue papers, and I order a big bucket of ice, put some ice in there,
00:35 make it nice and tight.
00:38 I even wet it sometimes so that the cold gets through, and boom.
00:46 Oh, this is my favorite part in the morning.
00:49 Trust me, it makes a big difference.
00:51 I'm from Marrakech, Morocco.
00:53 I was born and raised there.
00:55 Now I live in the States, and right now we're in London getting ready for the Vogue World
01:01 Show, which I'm super excited about.
01:03 Yesterday I went to my fitting, and I have this incredible long Victoria Beckham dress
01:10 with a long train, so I'm super excited about that.
01:13 So I keep it really simple because I know I'm going to have a lot of makeup on, so I'm
01:16 just going to do a lot of hydration.
01:19 I spray with this, which I love.
01:22 I found out about open casting through a friend, and I thought that this was amazing.
01:28 And again, it's for Vogue, so I'm like, "Great, this is the perfect exposure."
01:33 I sent a video introduction, I sent some pictures, and then I didn't know if I was going to hear
01:38 back, honestly.
01:40 And then a couple of weeks later, I heard back, and it was an extreme misbelief.
01:45 I was like, "Wait, is this really happening?"
01:47 All I could do is jump up and down and scream, and I was extremely happy.
01:52 First call I made was to my dad.
01:55 Very important part, there's going to be a lot of sweating, so do not forget this.
02:00 This is key.
02:02 It's 8 a.m., and call time is 9, and I still have to get a coffee, so let's get going.
02:13 Funny fact about me, obviously I'm from Morocco, and there's something I just don't leave my
02:19 house without, and guess what it is?
02:22 Cumin.
02:23 So, I put it on top of my eggs so much, and then salt.
02:29 Take a bite.
02:30 Mm, delicious.
02:31 I have cumin all over, but delicious.
02:38 I grew up playing soccer in the streets.
02:41 After school, all the kids in the old Medina, they gather in the streets and just toss the
02:47 ball around and go for a little sweat, and then, yeah, it's something we grew up doing.
02:54 Don't play soccer anymore, but I did pick up a really nice sport a couple years ago,
02:59 actually, in the beginning of COVID, which is surfing, and that has been life-changing
03:05 for me.
03:06 So, this is how I submitted to the Open Casting.
03:08 I recorded a video of myself just talking about myself and my story and my background,
03:15 and this is it.
03:23 Enjoying a few minutes of the sun before the chaos starts.
03:28 My advice for any new models is, honestly, you just got to believe in yourself.
03:35 My dad always told me that all it takes is to say yes.
03:38 Wake up in the morning and say, "Yes, I can do this.
03:41 Yes, I am capable.
03:44 Yes, I belong.
03:45 Yes, I deserve it."
03:47 And sky's the limit.
03:48 The day is yours.
03:50 The universe is yours.
03:51 All you got to do is say yes.
03:52 Hell yeah.
03:53 Hell yeah.
03:54 I love that.
03:55 Okay, we are delayed.
03:56 Let's go.
03:57 Hi.
04:03 My name is Vanya.
04:14 Thank you.
04:17 We're here.
04:21 We're headed to rehearsal to see where we're going to be walking, how it's going to be.
04:30 So, let's see.
04:32 Hi.
04:33 You're more romantic.
04:34 You are number 17.
04:35 Remember that number for the rest of your day.
04:37 Okay, 17.
04:38 If you just joined this line to speak to James.
04:39 Guys, that's number 17 as well.
04:40 Number 17.
04:41 Remember that for the day.
04:42 No, we're going to start up here.
04:43 The queue is everyone will leave.
04:44 This is to go back.
04:46 So, yeah, easy.
04:47 So, basically, we come in from there, go all the way, as we're walking out, go down the
04:48 stairs, all the way back to the opposite door.
04:49 Perfect.
04:50 Bingo.
04:51 Bingo.
04:52 Thank you.
04:53 No worries.
04:54 Amazing.
04:55 Easy, you know.
04:56 My dad used to put a book on my head and he used to make me walk without dropping the
04:57 book.
04:58 Well, he never gets old, always nervous.
04:59 But this sounds fun because like, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:00 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:01 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:02 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:03 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:04 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.
05:28 Okay, hair and makeup time, let's go.
05:34 Okay, just started the first step of the makeup, which is bleached eyebrows.
05:40 So, no eyebrows at the moment.
05:43 And this is the look.
05:44 So gradually, we're going to get there.
05:52 Welcome to the chaos of backstage.
05:54 Finishing up makeup here and in about 20 minutes, we're going to head to another rehearsal.
06:00 So see you in 20.
06:04 So they changed my number.
06:07 I was number 17, now 20.
06:09 So that means I will be closing the show.
06:12 That's amazing.
06:13 Okay, so we're going to head to the next rehearsal.
06:41 This is a mess.
07:11 See you, babe.
07:12 Look at Pig.
07:13 It's a wrap.
07:14 Thank you, Vogue, for following me today.
07:15 It was epic and see you soon.
07:20 Bye.
07:29 (music fades)
