00:00 - Pat, is there anything or anybody
00:01 that's currently inspiring you?
00:03 - I'd say it's the whole planet right now.
00:06 It's very inspirational.
00:08 So here we are.
00:12 We have Vogue World tomorrow.
00:14 It's a very big day.
00:15 I think it's nearly around 70 models.
00:17 We're gonna have a look today with our lovely Lulu,
00:20 my team, Jenna, Adam, Keisha, everybody.
00:23 We're gonna be looking at the Blitz Kid
00:26 new romantic section, this look.
00:28 So it's very strong eye, beautiful strong cheeks.
00:31 And I think we're gonna have a lot of fun with this.
00:33 The first thing we always focus on is beautiful skin.
00:35 - We like to use the essence that Pat has.
00:38 And it's almost like a little bit of a mini spa session
00:41 before the foundation is even applied.
00:44 - And you feel it as well,
00:45 that your skin like feels so much lighter.
00:47 Like it doesn't feel caked at all.
00:49 - Exactly.
00:50 When you think about it,
00:51 this look is quite theatrical and very strong.
00:54 But at the same time, once the skin is breathable
00:57 and once the skin lives,
00:58 it makes the look really much more modern.
01:02 Don't you all feel, team?
01:03 Then after this, we'd start to work in the color.
01:06 Really and truly, we've been discussing over many, many weeks
01:09 throughout the summer.
01:10 First of all, with the whole team,
01:13 just the themes, the segments, the sections,
01:16 looking at clothing, the whole run of show, you know,
01:18 it's real theater and fashion being brought to life.
01:22 There was a lot of work that has gone into that.
01:24 Some really fun times discussing the history of fashion,
01:29 music, theater, everything.
01:31 So.
01:33 - Jenna is constructing a beautiful blue eye on Lulu.
01:38 I've always taught the team,
01:39 start with the pencil first
01:40 and create the shape that you want.
01:42 And then you put the shadow on top once you've done that.
01:45 So Jenna is starting out
01:46 with Mothership One Subliminal Palette.
01:48 It's a blitz blue color.
01:49 It was the first ever palette that I made for the brand.
01:52 And then we're gonna put Neptunian Orchid
01:54 from this holiday on top of that.
01:56 You know, the blitz kids and the new romantics
01:58 was obviously an early obsession of mine.
02:00 When I was younger, I was so into street culture,
02:03 everything that was going on
02:04 around all those blitz clubs in Soho.
02:07 You know, obviously I followed all the bands.
02:09 So yes, this is an era that is truly dear to me
02:13 and I'm really inspired by it.
02:15 So the color that we're actually using
02:17 is Platinum Moonlight, right?
02:19 It's always important, especially for this look
02:21 'cause it's so deeply dramatic.
02:23 We want the eyes to pop.
02:24 So we always pop a little bit
02:26 on the inner corners of the eyes.
02:27 Whether you're doing a nude makeup,
02:28 whether you're doing a strong, smoky makeup,
02:30 it really just brightens the eyes.
02:32 You really see the shape of the eyes.
02:33 And in a way as well,
02:34 it really helps you to celebrate the eyes as well, kids.
02:37 Right?
02:38 We love it.
02:39 Makeup, oh, what a journey.
02:41 What was great about the brief for Vogue World
02:45 was when I spoke to the team,
02:47 they really were obsessed with the fact
02:49 that the girls have their own individuality
02:51 and they were really obsessed with the fact
02:53 that the girls shouldn't look like a uniform.
02:56 So I like that.
02:58 That kind of freedom really helps
03:00 that you're not creating a carbon copy look on every girl,
03:04 every diversity, every type of skin tone in the world.
03:08 So you obviously have to modify for everyone.
03:10 Luckily, I have the best team in the world.
03:13 Don't you think that's one of our strengths,
03:14 I think, as a team is the fact that every skin tone,
03:17 every face shape, every eye shape
03:20 is taken into consideration.
03:21 We're very lucky every day
03:23 that we always have to celebrate everybody's individuality.
03:25 We enjoy that.
03:26 The blush is gonna be done in many different ways.
03:29 Soft, hard, you know, right?
03:33 We're gonna do many levels.
03:34 - A kiss of blush all the way up to this level.
03:35 - Yeah.
03:36 - So just applying some concealer,
03:39 a thin layer,
03:40 and that gives us a really good canvas for the lipstick.
03:43 So the way that Pat is really, really incredible at this,
03:46 she has the perfect shaped finger for this.
03:49 She takes her finger, works the product in,
03:53 and then just stamps the lipstick on.
03:56 I feel like Pat is one of the only artists
03:58 that does this technique,
04:01 where she really does a perfect lip only with her finger.
04:04 So you can see this kind of edge,
04:06 like as I go over it, as I layer it,
04:09 it's sort of feathered in a way.
04:12 So it doesn't have this like hard crayoned on technique
04:17 and look to it.
04:18 It's this kind of softness and elegance to the lip
04:21 that's very Pat.
04:23 - It just is about getting the right amount of pigment
04:26 using my fingers.
04:27 It's just something I've always done.
04:29 And also because like I said, back in the day,
04:31 whenever you did a red lip, it was really hard lines.
04:34 The red lip wore you, you didn't wear the red lip.
04:36 When you do it with the fingers,
04:38 it's like, it becomes part of you.
04:41 And it's really magical and beautiful and soft.
04:43 - Sensual.
04:44 - Pat and Tim can transform you into someone like,
04:47 I don't know, characters or a better version of yourself
04:50 or elevate, like it's insane what they can do with makeup.
04:53 You really feel like confident
04:54 and just ready to kind of do the job.
04:57 - So that's a look that we're doing for Vogue World.
04:59 Thank you for watching and we'll catch you backstage.
