00:00Am I naughty for doing that? No, no. Am I going to get on the naughty list?
00:10Hi Vogue, Mariah Carey here. And today we're going to be cooking some cookies and making some
00:18hot chocolate. But first I think I should take off my apron. So let's ask Wilfredo to come on in
00:25and do that. Hi Wilfredo. Hi. Well you could bake in it, but it might get stuff all over it.
00:31I wonder which one of these things I should use. Which one? The red one? Okay, that's festive.
00:37I just thought that making sugar cookies would be very Christmassy and I wanted to start getting
00:44into the vibe. We're going to take this butter and put it in the mixer. So people ask me what
00:50is the correct day to start listening to... I don't know if the question was Christmas music or
00:55All I Want for Christmas is You. All I Want for Christmas is You. I like to wait until at least
01:02November 1st, but before that I would always wait until Thanksgiving. It depends. Some people want
01:09to start a little bit earlier. Usually I wait till my video that I do called It's Time. Then we go
01:15from there. Listen away. I'm going to put the sugar in. Sugar goes in. Yes, sugar.
01:25It's looking good. I'm going to stop it now. Some people would come up to me and tell me,
01:30I listened to your Christmas music in July and I thought that was really sweet. Well, definitely
01:37not for me. That's why I'm always going, not yet. The holiday season has always been important to
01:44me, even when I was a little kid. I love it. It's just something that I treasure and I always have.
01:52Okay, so we have some eggs here. Love vanilla extract.
02:00I am adding flour into the entire bowl. Off-camera, I'm talking to a crack team of
02:08execs that are making this mesmerizing for me. Do you really want all this flour in here?
02:16Okay. I don't know because I was just thinking maybe it could be less.
02:21Okay, so I'm going to take a little flour. Best holiday gift that I've ever received.
02:28Oh, it was probably some diamonds, I've got to say. Didn't want to say that out loud, but I had to
02:35because the person who got me the diamonds is not here. Okay, more powder. I mean flour.
02:48Okay. Well, see this is just going to be, everybody assumes that I can't cook and now
02:56they're going to look at this and be like, yeah, just as we suspected, she can't cook.
03:01But that's not even true. I'm trying to save my nails. I had no idea that there was going to be
03:09a 30th anniversary of All I Want For Christmas Is You. I never thought it would be this big
03:16of a situation, but it's very exciting. Now this goes in the fridge. So much time has passed since
03:25we've been here in this kitchen. Well, I'm going to get a little bit of this flour out. Well,
03:31I decorated the studio when I was making All I Want For Christmas Is You because I wanted it to
03:37feel like Christmassy and it was in the middle of the summer. I put up lights and everything all
03:43over the walls. These are such good tips that I'm getting to put this in the flour so you don't
03:50mess it up. Oh, look, this is so cute. It's a butterfly. Here is a snowflake.
04:05I did the best I could. So now that I've cut out my cookies, which I totally did
04:13all by myself, I think I'm going to take them over here and put them in the oven.
04:18Oh, I could go this way. While the cookies are baking, we're going to make some hot chocolate.
04:27I'm playing holiday songs on my Christmas tour, but also a couple of classics. I got started
04:33doing that. My agent suggested it. I didn't really want to do too much with the non-holiday songs
04:39because I thought like it doesn't really work, but it did. And now I do about five or six.
04:46So I believe this is sugar. I hope it's not salt.
04:56I'm kind of trying to like not tell everybody about it, but then again, why not? It is a grunge
05:03album that I made when I was making my album Daydream, which has Always Be My Baby, Fantasy,
05:11One Sweet Day, all these songs that don't really go with the grunge album.
05:16Look at this. Did you see that just come up like that? So now that it's boiling, I'm going to put
05:22this chocolate in there. I think I was just tired of my regular life. Not tired of it, but it was
05:32just every day I was doing the same type of thing. And then the band was there. So I just said,
05:40hey, try this. And that's what happened.
05:50It's very good. I believe it is done. I got to get this in here the right way. And I don't know
05:58if that is. Yay. I used to wake up really late for school and my mother would be talking to me
06:11and I'd be like, I don't want you to go to school. I don't want that. I don't want that.
06:16And she'd be like, don't do that to your voice. You're going to ruin your voice.
06:19And then I started learning how to make it into a tune.
06:24Not too much. I think it's pretty sweet. Not too, too sweet. I don't really have a sweet tooth.
06:35I'm just like, if something seems like it's going to taste good, I'll have it.
06:40Keanu, would you like to come in and taste this one?
06:46Keanu is a fabulous chef that's been here helping me figure this out.
06:52I want to keep this. I want to keep this back there with me.
06:55I want to keep mine too. I think the cookies might be ready.
06:59So the cookies are done and they have miraculously cooled. I'm excited to decorate them.
07:06I'm going to start with the icing. Well, this is a snowflake. I'm just going to kind of
07:13sparkle it, but I need my special stuff. I wasn't planning on it, but it kind of looks like cold cream.
07:24Vogue recently featured my dogs in Dogue. I got them little outfits and ensembles and it was so
07:32cute and fun. Those are my dogs. Okay, now I'm going to get my special things.
07:39These are my special sparkles. Let's try it.
07:46I always do the majority of my decorating off camera. All right, give it a try.
07:58Why am I surprised? It's good. All right, Vogue, thank you for having me. This was so fun.
08:04These cookies for all to share at the holiday season, and it's time!
08:12You guys want to try some? I want the butterfly. Cheers!
