00:00**Heartbeat**
00:16**Breathing**
00:33I started cold plunging a few years back while I was working on my body after hours of rehearsing
00:45In Korea the sauna culture is really big so I would go to sauna like every single day
00:52and doing the cold plunge right after was a natural thing for me
00:59The first time was a surprise
01:03I freaked out a little bit but instantly I felt like the soreness and tightness of my body went away
01:11and maybe because it was the first time I just had this instant boost in my mood
01:16and an overall emotional release
01:21It's like a reset button for your body
01:25By the time I'm in front of the water I prep my mental
01:29It's usually...
01:31Sorry I instantly imagined what I did and it's usually me kind of freaking out but
01:37You're going to see a lot of that today
01:39I feel like I should be running
01:41Warm up a little
01:44I'm ready
01:45I'm not scared
01:46What a beautiful view to have while you cold plunge
01:52I'm not delaying my challenge right now
01:55It's usually a form of like just letting go of my anxiety
01:59I jump around sometimes to get my blood flowing
02:03I normally try to slow my breathing
02:05That already gives you a calm energy
02:09Kind of prepare your mind
02:11As I put my foot into the water there's an instant pain
02:16Oh my god
02:31That's when you got to really start breathing in really slowly
02:35Remind yourself to be calm and that this is okay
02:40You can breathe through this
02:47Once your body is in the water you're going to feel this tingle
02:51But you really got to believe in yourself
02:54I often tell myself to toughen up
02:56Like this is just water
02:57Like you're not going to die in this water
03:01I tell myself that this is something that I want to do
03:04And it's not for the pain it's for the relief
03:08And saying those words to me inspired me to finish that time limit
03:13That you set yourself before you get in
03:16The second you walk in is when you want to get out
03:20But I usually like to set my goals
03:22So I would set an alarm for 2 minutes and 30 seconds
03:26And when the alarm goes off and I'm still able to hold this coldness
03:31I tell myself let's see how long I can do today
03:35I recommend to go like 5 seconds more every single time
03:39Even like 10 seconds
03:40And gradually your body learn to deal with this pain
03:45And you feel so proud of yourself
04:11One of the main reasons why I started cold plunging
04:15Was to recover myself after doing lots of performances and doing tours
04:21I was overworking my body
04:23And every night I would go to sleep in pain
04:26And I couldn't figure out how to treat myself
04:29When I was in these situations where my muscles were tightened up
04:32And by doing cold plunge it taught me how to embrace tension
04:37And helped me push through challenges
04:40Whether in my personal life or creatively
04:45Working on this album
04:46I would say cold plunging was number one thing
04:49That helped me get through mentally
04:52Because it was a tough time
04:54I pushed myself to be in a studio every single day for a couple months
04:58That's how I ended the night by doing a cold plunge
05:01And it refreshed me
05:03And that's how I reset myself for the next day
05:05As much as I love it
05:07I get scared every single time
05:10But breaking through that fear
05:12And pushing myself to do it every day
05:15Kind of motivated me
05:17And made me believe that I am tougher than I think I am
05:20You know, you're really doing it for yourself
05:22There's no one watching
05:28Okay, I'm ready to jump out now
05:32As soon as I walk out
05:34I wrap myself with towel
05:36And also in this part
05:38Breathing is really important, I would say
05:40The more you panic
05:42The more you're gonna hate the feeling after you walk out
05:45So I breathe and I calm myself down
05:48I'm shaking a little bit
05:50But I think it's because the air is cold today
05:53But I feel good
05:55And immediately you can feel your blood flowing
05:59Flowing
06:00See, now I'm just like lost in this interview
06:02I'm just so pressured about
06:04Being like the ambassador of cold plunge right now
06:07And I want to do it right
06:11Immediately you feel your blood flowing in your body
06:14And you feel good
06:16You feel energetic
06:17You feel ready to go
06:22Thank you Vogue
06:23This was a very special experience for me
06:26And hope you guys try it out
06:27Bye
