I was asked for a bit more technique info on Upright Rows soooooo here's a video showing the External Shoulder Rotation that l use on ALL Upright Rows whether gripped narrowly or Snatch style. Keep the hands closed tightly on the bar so that you can pull the bar apart forcefully as the bar goes up and then in rowing around your Torso. When you focus on External Rotation, Upright Rows become a great move for shoulder health: WHAT OTHER lift allows you to work the small External Rotator muscles of the shoulders so heavily through a full ROM? Upright Rows of various grips are ESSENTIAL for balancing out the power of the massive Internal Rotators of the shoulder: Pecs & Lats.
