00:00 She's got some really cool artists here.
00:03 Oh, she's got reggae.
00:04 Let's put some reggae on, shall we?
00:06 Okay, cool, it doesn't work.
00:10 Hey Vogue, it's Simone.
00:22 Come spend a day with me in London.
00:24 Let's go.
00:25 Okay.
00:26 Next time.
00:32 Next week, yeah.
00:33 No worries.
00:34 Thanks so much.
00:35 No worries, no worries.
00:36 See you later.
00:37 Thank you.
00:38 Bye.
00:39 I forgot my coffee.
00:40 This is a Cardman band.
00:50 I moved here and I never had a dog.
00:52 And then I just saw dogs everywhere.
00:54 And I kind of realised I really wanted to have a furry friend.
00:57 And then I got a puppy.
00:58 I'd walk here with her and try and dodge all the cyclists
01:01 before we go to Vicky Park.
01:03 But that was my life.
01:04 If I wasn't auditioning, I'd just be hanging out here,
01:07 going for walks with my dog, biking around, seeing friends.
01:10 Do you want some?
01:12 Here, it's Cardman.
01:13 He's got a massive sweet tooth.
01:14 He sure gets it.
01:15 We are off to a fitting at Stella McCartney's.
01:20 Oh, okay.
01:21 Hi.
01:29 Hi, I'm Simone.
01:30 So nice to see you.
01:31 Nice to see you.
01:32 How are you?
01:33 I'm good.
01:34 It's so great to have you at Stella.
01:35 Shall we go upstairs?
01:36 Let's take you up.
01:37 Let me show you some of the gowns at the back.
01:41 So which one do you think takes your fancy?
01:43 What can we see you in?
01:45 I love this.
01:46 I think this is so cute.
01:47 This one, plus the one I had my eye on,
01:50 and then this one here.
01:52 Oh, and then this one goes with the trousers.
01:54 Okay, cool.
01:55 I might actually need your help.
01:56 Thank you.
01:58 Pleasure.
01:59 Let's go.
02:00 Hey.
02:06 Hi.
02:07 I love this one.
02:08 Yeah?
02:09 So cute, with the boots, and maybe like hair up,
02:13 just to make it a bit more neater.
02:16 But I love this.
02:17 I love colour.
02:18 I love black.
02:19 It's really chic and simple and can be quite powerful,
02:22 but I really love plain white colour.
02:23 I think it's just like a proper London girl kind of look.
02:25 It's cute, but unstated.
02:28 It's not too showy.
02:29 Right, shall we try the next one?
02:35 This one's really cool.
02:39 I love like the details on the top.
02:41 Love showing a bit of skin, or a lot of skin.
02:45 I love the shape of these pants.
02:47 I think it dresses it down a little bit.
02:49 I think for like if you're attending a show
02:51 and you're not walking,
02:52 you want to look cool, effortless,
02:55 you know, you're going to an event,
02:57 and I guess for Vogue World it's going to be a big one,
03:00 so maybe a bit extra effort than usual.
03:04 And I think hair down for this one.
03:06 I like my hair down and curly and kind of big.
03:10 Or we could have like long, straight hair.
03:15 This is a cool one.
03:17 Look at that.
03:18 They look like a cool group of people.
03:21 My dad has a lot of records,
03:23 so I grew up listening to like all the tunes,
03:26 like Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones.
03:32 It's kind of a shame we don't really listen to records anymore.
03:36 [Music]
03:38 I love wearing and supporting young, up-and-coming British fashion designers.
03:48 Marco Capaldo at Sixteen Arlington,
03:50 or Connor Ives, who I was wearing today.
03:53 I love their work.
03:55 They've just always inspired me, what it is.
03:57 I've said this so many times,
03:59 to be a London girl, and that kind of look,
04:01 and what it feels like.
04:03 You know, when I'm not working,
04:05 I'm just, you know, in my sneakers and my trackies.
04:08 So when I get to like wear a look and wear someone's work,
04:11 it's such an honour.
04:13 And I'm so grateful that my work allows me to do stuff like that.
04:17 [Music]
04:19 A few nights ago, I went to the Darjeeling Express,
04:27 and Asma Khan is the head chef there.
04:31 I was just blown away.
04:32 She's just such a force,
04:35 out there empowering women, with a full female kitchen.
04:38 And she, you know, it was just such a unique experience.
04:41 So, go out for dinner and bring my best friend Roxy along.
04:45 I think that's just something I love about London.
04:47 I think in any city, you have all these different pockets
04:49 where you can meet really cool people,
04:51 and it kind of gives that city its own character.
04:54 And in London, there's a big Indian culture.
04:58 I don't go out in London much,
05:00 unless it's for work.
05:02 I tend to just stay at home with my dog.
05:06 But I'm a big foodie.
05:08 I love going out and trying all the different restaurants.
05:11 [Music]
05:13 Hello!
05:21 Hello, welcome!
05:22 This is Roxy.
05:23 Hi!
05:24 Hi, Roxy.
05:26 So hungry.
05:28 So, you're going to pick one out of these two,
05:30 and then one out of that.
05:32 And then the rest is about textures and flavours.
05:35 And you are in control of this whole platter of food that comes.
05:39 You mix and match.
05:40 Okay.
05:41 Can you try the tamarind one first?
05:44 I love tamarind.
05:46 That is so good.
05:50 Oh my God.
05:52 Oh my gosh, thank you so much.
05:53 Thank you so much.
05:55 Cheers, babe.
05:56 Cheers, babe.
05:58 What was your favourite dish growing up?
05:59 Was there a dish your mum used to cook?
06:02 What was your favourite?
06:03 She'd make like this pea fried rice,
06:05 which is like basmati rice with peas and fried onions,
06:09 mustard seeds, like black mustard seeds.
06:12 And then she'd have this thing on the side called patchidi,
06:14 and then her chicken curry.
06:16 And I would just have that, and then upalong,
06:18 again, which is like pop it on, on the side.
06:20 Are there things you've learned from your mum in terms of like the way you cook now?
06:23 She's always taught me just how to be clean and organised in the kitchen.
06:27 I can't think if it's just all over the place.
06:30 Thank you.
06:32 Wow.
06:34 Rings off.
06:43 You can eat with your hands.
06:44 Yeah, amazing.
06:45 Rings off.
06:46 I will eat with my cover on.
06:48 We don't know if this is a thing in Indian culture,
06:50 but I used to get, I'm left-handed.
06:51 Yeah.
06:52 I used to get told off for eating with my left hand.
06:54 That's so interesting.
06:55 Apparently it was like a thing.
06:57 I used to take my mum here, and my brother.
07:00 You have to bring your mum here.
07:02 They always say like a silent table is a good thing sometimes,
07:06 because people are just too busy eating.
07:08 Thanks so much for joining me,
07:17 and I hope you enjoyed my little peek into my London life.
07:22 Bye.
07:23 Love that.
07:29 She's proud of that.
07:30 [Laughs]
