Char Siu Pork Ribs – Flavorful and Delicious
Char siu pork ribs are a tasty dish with a rich, savory-sweet sauce and the signature aroma of char siu. This dish pairs perfectly with steamed rice.
Ingredients:
500g pork ribs
2 tbsp char siu sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp honey (or sugar)
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp cooking oil
100ml water
Instructions:
1. Prepare the ribs:
Wash the ribs and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Blanch them in boiling water to remove impurities, then rinse with cold water.
2. Marinate the ribs:
Mix the ribs with char siu sauce, oyster sauce, honey, garlic, salt, pepper, fish sauce, and oil. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or 2 hours for deeper flavor).
3. Cook the ribs:
Heat a pan, add the ribs, and sear them until slightly browned.
Pour in the water, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for about 20-30 minutes until the ribs are tender.
4. Finish the dish:
Once the sauce thickens and coats the ribs evenly, turn off the heat.
Sprinkle with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
Serving suggestion:
Serve hot with steamed rice, cucumber slices, and fresh greens. If you like it spicy, add some chopped chili or chili sauce.
