00:00:00Okay, happy bi-week to you and yours. It is midday Wednesday.
00:00:16The Patriots are enjoying their first of five days off and so
00:00:19am I. Kind of. Except for I'm talking to you. But if you
00:00:23listen to our last episode, I told you what this episode is
00:00:26going to be all about. Four-minute drills. Over and
00:00:29over and over again because this has been a new segment this
00:00:32year. Well received. Lot of fun and in case you missed any
00:00:36particular episode, you probably missed one of these
00:00:38four-minute drills which in case you've missed all of the
00:00:40episodes and somehow just parachuted in for this last one
00:00:43during the bye. First of all, find something better to do.
00:00:45Number two, the four-minute drill has been a four-minute
00:00:48interview with guys like Pop Douglas. Joe Milton came by.
00:00:52Marcus Jones. Why am I not thinking of better Patriots
00:00:55players off the top of my head? Oh, Kendrick Bourne's been
00:00:57there. Hunter Henry joined in the summer. We had Kyle Duggar.
00:01:00Okay, Christian Gonzalez popped in. There we go. I've got you
00:01:02hooked. Anyway, all of those four-minute drills from during
00:01:05the regular season. We're going to skip the training camp ones
00:01:08are going to be in this episode. So, you will learn new
00:01:11things about Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Duggar and Kendrick
00:01:14Bourne and Pop Douglas all in the next 40, 50. I don't even
00:01:18know how many minutes this is but first, I wanted to thank
00:01:21you as always for listening. We had a couple people reach out.
00:01:24We made their Spotify raps. This is the day where your
00:01:26Instagram is just polluted with everyone else's favorite songs
00:01:30and artists but for those of you who have listened and
00:01:34continue to watch or just started, thank you. It
00:01:38sincerely is appreciated. Building this podcast and this
00:01:41show has been one of the best parts of my career. Certainly
00:01:44over the last three, four years. Other part, we're going
00:01:47to pay some bills right up top. Then, we're going to get to the
00:01:49four-minute drills and get out of here. Two more episodes
00:01:51coming next week when the Patriots come back. Again,
00:01:53players are off until Sunday. So, there's real no news. You
00:01:56can rest up. You could do whatever you want until next
00:01:59week. We'll have two more episodes and keep rolling to
00:02:01the end of the regular season but while you watch games this
00:02:05Sunday, I would highly encourage you to support the
00:02:07folks who support us starting with Prize Picks, America's
00:02:10number one daily fantasy sports app because you can win real
00:02:12money as you watch football and it's a simple. This simple. You
00:02:17make four picks and you can win up to 100 times of money.
00:02:20That's it. You pick four players. You build a lineup at
00:02:23Prize Picks. Every player comes with the stat. You go more or
00:02:25less. Last week, we went two and oh. Drake made more than
00:02:29half a touchdown pass. Just half. That's sometimes it's that
00:02:32easy. Hunter Henry, more than 43 and a half receiving yards
00:02:36against a Colts. He finished with 75. So, that's what you do
00:02:38at Prize Picks. If you're watching games there with the
00:02:40NBA, the NHL, or tons of other sports, that's all you have to
00:02:43do. You build a lineup, pick more or less on those players
00:02:47and you can win up to 100 times your money. Plus, you get that
00:02:50money back with Venmo. So, go to Prize Picks right now and you

00:03:33graduate, 2013. Uh I'm not going cuz I'm a little bit sick
00:03:37but if I was, I would be going to watch them play Baylor

00:04:48as you've never heard them before on a four-minute drill.
00:04:51Full four-minute drill episode of the Pats Interference
00:04:53Podcast. Please enjoy. I'll see you next week. Alright, here
00:04:56with Hunter Henry after Patriots training camp practice. He is
00:04:58the first guest on a new segment. Four-minute drill
00:05:00where typically, you're trying to run out the clock in a
00:05:03four-minute drill but that is the only thing you can't do.
00:05:05You can answer these questions alternating football with
00:05:07non-football however you like. You've already committed to
00:05:09running out the clock on the first question which is I think
00:05:11was like false starting on your part but we'll see how this
00:05:13goes. You ready? Yeah, I probably won't do that but
00:05:15whatever. We'll see what happens. Very good. Alright,
00:05:17clock has started. Uh we saw you getting a little scrap
00:05:19there. The heat of training camp, Anthony Jennings, the
00:05:22regret is already on his face. Uh would you like to give me a
00:05:25one-line cliche answer about things happening camp and it
00:05:27really wasn't that big of a deal. I don't know if there's a one-liner
00:05:30there but uh it like you said, it is hot and we're in the
00:05:34middle of camp and you know, it was just me and my other tight
00:05:38end out there, you know, just gritting and grinding. Uh so,
00:05:41it's just a little bit of scrap. It's just kind of what
00:05:43comes with the territory a little bit. Cool. Alright, that
00:05:45was like a six out of ten on the cliche scale. I think you
00:05:47did. You did pretty good. Okay, perfect. Um we were chatting
00:05:49last year cuz you had a couple best man speeches to give
00:05:52recently. I want you to tell us the best line from one of those
00:05:55speeches and how it landed. Oh man. Gosh. Okay. Uh honestly,
00:06:01probably my first brother. Uh I was pretty nervous for that one
00:06:04and uh he's 4 years younger than me. So, there's a big age
00:06:08gap but my dad always just when he was younger, we started
00:06:11playing football. We just played Oklahoma's drill in the
00:06:14front yard. So, I just I hit on that a few times. Just literally
00:06:16my me and my brother just in the front yard. He's six. I'm
00:06:20ten and we were just clashing each other in the front yard.
00:06:23Pretty good times. Uh something that we could uh relive for
00:06:25sure is good. So, good family times in the Henry household
00:06:28means maximum violence right in public on the front yard. Yeah,
00:06:31it paid off. It paid off. Uh look at it. Look at us now. So,
00:06:33it's alright. Yeah, good stuff. Alright, back to football. Um
00:06:36one one myth or misconception either in the media or fans
00:06:40think about the game that if you could just clear up
00:06:42forever, hey, this is not the case. This is really the truth
00:06:45about my position or the game itself. Um I don't know if
00:06:49people realize how tough a position maybe tied in is. Um
00:06:53and just how complex it is. I think I would love to have
00:06:57someone just sit in those in that seat and just like
00:06:59mentally and physically like everything that we have to do.
00:07:02Obviously, I think it's mentally we're the second
00:07:03behind the quarterback on offense but um we are asked to
00:07:06do a lot. It's tough. I'd agree. I think the tough part
00:07:09is you followed Cronk who we all assume could you know could
00:07:11maybe not handle that necessarily but that's more as
00:07:14public persona than actually the football IQ. Uh back to
00:07:16non-football. So, again, you gave those speeches. What was
00:07:19one line that did not land particularly well? Joke, you
00:07:22had TW. You felt good about it. Maybe you're right. I
00:07:23actually didn't like there wasn't anything too crazy.
00:07:26There was a there was a a story I wanted to tell and my dad
00:07:29went first and he told it. So, I had it like completely
00:07:32scrapped out of my uh out of my speech. So, that was kind of
00:07:36a last-minute adjustment to my speech that I didn't really
00:07:38wanna do. Did it go well though for your dad? It went well for
00:07:41my dad. Okay. Yeah, it went well for my dad. So, uh you
00:07:43know, good for my dad. He he stole it from me though.
00:07:45Alright, we're closing in in under 2 minutes left. Um give
00:07:48us your favorite moment as a patriot. Um man, probably my
00:07:54first touchdown uh was up there for sure. Um we we lost
00:07:58that game. That was the Tampa game but that was a that was a
00:08:01fun fun game in a way and a fun moment just to kinda I felt
00:08:05like relaxing in a way. Just being here and uh you know, I
00:08:08hit the ground running a little bit after that. Yeah,
00:08:10prime time in the rain. You guys are building that second
00:08:12half comeback. I think the game ended with just about 2
00:08:14minutes left. So, yeah. All went well. Um give us the
00:08:17Olympic sport you would love to jump into tomorrow. If you
00:08:19just got to go to Paris. I was actually just talking about
00:08:21this with my wife. Okay. Uh I think I could play handball.
00:08:25Yeah. I was watching that. I was watching that the other day
00:08:28on TV and I was like, I think I could play that. Yeah. Out of
00:08:32all the sports, I think, I think I could pick that up
00:08:34pretty fast. I love it. I think. No, no offense to the
00:08:36handballers but I don't know. I'm I'm an elite athlete so I
00:08:39think I can pick it up. Yeah. Uh probably less thinking than
00:08:42tight end too. So, you just get to just react and play.
00:08:44Alright, under a minute left here. Can you from any system,
00:08:46you've played a lot, a lot of offensive coordinators, just
00:08:49rattle off a play call you like. Uh twelve duo. Oh, come
00:08:55on. Even I know what duo is. I'm trying. I'm looking for
00:08:57something that sounds Turkish to the rest of us but it's like
00:08:59footballese. Oh, man. Let's go like F slingshot to Buffalo
00:09:04right and counter. Uh two jets. Uh Y Chase X comeback. I love
00:09:12that. You see this? Woo. Right on it. One last one. Your
00:09:16least favorite question in a press conference. Uh y'all
00:09:19just trying to ask about what like what the quarterback's
00:09:22going on probably right now and that's probably my my least
00:09:24favorite right now. Like, I mean, we're we're a weekend.
00:09:26So. Alright, very good. Next time, we'll be talking to
00:09:28Hunter Henry about the quarterbacks. You heard it
00:09:30here for the Pass Interference Podcast. I appreciate you,
00:09:32buddy. Alright, dude. Appreciate it. So, it was a big
00:09:33day for Pop Douglas. Uh not just because he had the first
00:09:36three catches. I think it's team periods today here after
00:09:38Patriots training camp but because he joins the four
00:09:40minute drill. New segment of the Pass Interference Podcast.
00:09:42I told Hunter Henry last week. I know four-minute drills. You're
00:09:45trying to run off the clock. Uh but here, you're just
00:09:47answering questions. Football, the non-football. I'll start
00:09:49the clock and we'll go. Sound good? Let's get it. Alright,
00:09:51appreciate you, bro. Yes, sir. So, first question for Pop
00:09:54Douglas here in the four-minute drill. Can you confirm the
00:09:56rumors? The very serious real rumors that your hand injury
00:09:58was a result of Joe Milton just throwing you a pass. Uh that's
00:10:02kind of true. Nah, yeah, working out. Yeah, we were
00:10:04working out in the summer together. Uh he launched the
00:10:07ball. I go to get go to grab it and then uh trip and fall on
00:10:11my hand. So, I thought it was just it was too hard. It turns
00:10:14out that's actually true. This joke that we start this
00:10:16segment with it leads to an actual. That's crazy. Alright,
00:10:20hope you don't get too much trouble here for that one.
00:10:22Let's go. Um you told us late last year. I'll never forget
00:10:25this. In front of your locker room in a small scrum that your
00:10:28name is actually spelled DE capital M. Yeah. DeMario. What
00:10:31does it feel like when your name as a an adult changes? How
00:10:35did you find out? What was it? What was that feeling like? Oh,
00:10:37how did I find out that M was capital of my name? Yeah, yeah.
00:10:39Your name suddenly you had been writing incorrectly your
00:10:41whole life. Yeah, I was writing it incorrectly. I brought
00:10:44something home to my mama and she was like, you know the M in
00:10:47your name capital? The whole time I was spelling my name
00:10:50with the lowercase M. So were we. It was crazy. Yeah. Yeah.
00:10:53Is that settled now at the capital? No. Yes. I write it
00:10:56capital M. Yeah. Since when I was like third grade, fourth
00:10:59grade, that's when I found out. Alright, back to football.
00:11:02Tell us about uh a favorite concept. This could be high
00:11:04school. It could be college. It could be here in the NFL. What
00:11:07does the pass play look like and what's your route? Um let's
00:11:11see. I say uh post wheel. Post wheel. I I think I was scoring
00:11:17on a post wheel throughout my whole career. Yeah. Yeah. So
00:11:22hopefully I get a post wheel this year. So obviously you're
00:11:24in the slot and running that wheel. You kinda go towards the
00:11:26sideline and then cut up and put on the afterburners. Yep.
00:11:28Oh and I ran the post too. I was gonna score on both of
00:11:31those. Alright, very good. So, uh players always talk about
00:11:34wanting to have a certain teammate in the foxhole. I love
00:11:36being in the trenches with this guy. He's got my back. Let's
00:11:38say Pop Douglas is some kind of confrontation. Mm hmm. Who's
00:11:42the receiver in the room you least want at your back? Be
00:11:45like, oh, thanks for the help but I this guy maybe not in the
00:11:49middle of the scrum. The least person I want. Yeah, yeah. I
00:11:53don't know. We got some dogs on the receiver. They they they
00:11:55mean. Dogs across the board. Yeah. Uh let me see. KB. KB.
00:12:00KB. KB. KB. KB. Alright, very good. We're closing in here in
00:12:05the four-minute drill. Um I need two names, the two
00:12:08quarterbacks. Mm hmm. One that you faced last year and you
00:12:11really liked those reps going against this guy for whatever
00:12:13reason. Got the best out of you and the other one, you see him
00:12:16across the line. You're like, gosh. Cornerback. Cornerback.
00:12:19Yep. Um the one I like and the one I dislike. Yes. Uh I say
00:12:23thank uh Bill's Toron Johnson. Toron Johnson. I think just
00:12:27cuz we see each other twice. Yep. It's a good matchup. Uh
00:12:31you talk about the one who I go against and I'm laughing. He's
00:12:33like I can't. Yeah, I I just can't get around him. Who? Oh,
00:12:37I don't see nobody. No difficulties? No. No. No, I I'm
00:12:41gonna find a way that I work. Okay. Yeah, I'm gonna have to.
00:12:43It sounds like a receiver. A couple more for Pop. We got
00:12:46about a minute left here in the minute drill. Uh what is Pop
00:12:49Douglas doing when he gets home from a training camp practice
00:12:51like this one? What are you eating? What are you watching?
00:12:53Who are you hanging out with? Uh I go uh it depends on the
00:12:56day. So, if I'm like really tired, I might go straight to
00:12:59the hotel. But I'm gonna get you. Kian Mike. Drop it in. If
00:13:04I don't go I'm on NCAA. Yeah. I get my NCAA in. Yep. I got a
00:13:09new NCAA. Okay. We're just gonna stick with this cuz NCAA
00:13:12is on everyone's mind. Are you playing with Liberty? Who are
00:13:13you playing with? What kind of system? I'm kinda defeated on
00:13:16uh with Liberty right now. I think I won one game. I play
00:13:19with Ole Miss and uh PS five. Alright, so spread it. Yeah,
00:13:23PS five. Good man. Alright, last question. We asked this to
00:13:25Hunter Henry. It's all in jest. What is your least favorite
00:13:28media question to get when you're talking to all of us at
00:13:31once? Um say when it's about somebody else. Oh, why is that?
00:13:35Uh just because I mean, I don't wanna say anything about
00:13:39anybody and then somebody turn it into something that is
00:13:42really not, you know? So, I just wanted to keep it to
00:13:44myself. So, if I say something about myself, I mean, y'all can
00:13:47do whatever with it. Yeah. We can even write your name
00:13:49incorrectly. The first three quarters of the season and it's
00:13:51cool. As long as it's not anyone else. You see what that
00:13:53says? Four minutes. Four minutes. This has been the
00:13:55four-minute drill for the Pats Interference Podcast. Pop my
00:13:57man. Appreciate you coming on. Thank you. Yes, sir. Unlike a
00:14:00real four-minute drill, you cannot run out the clock. So,
00:14:02we gotta go uh. A rapid fire. We're gonna talk real. Alright,
00:14:05ready? Set. First one. Today essentially marks the end of
00:14:09training camp. Next week is a regular season style prep week.
00:14:12If I give you a little bit of truth serum, how happy are you
00:14:14that you're done with camp? Uh very happy. You know, it's an
00:14:17accomplishment to you know, get through camp and it's a you
00:14:20know, it's a long grind. So, to be done with it, you know, it
00:14:22feels good. Alright, very good. So, you told me a story. I
00:14:26think last season, maybe 2 years ago about working at a
00:14:28Walmart once. We were talking about odd jobs and there was
00:14:31this giant milk palette that spilled everywhere in the
00:14:34Walmart. You told me you had some sort of milk phobia. Can
00:14:37you update us on the milk phobia? Can you not smell it?
00:14:39Do you not wanna see it? Obviously, you don't wanna
00:14:40drink it. Right, I haven't, I haven't even drank milk in so
00:14:44long and it's probably a couple years. I don't eat cereal too
00:14:48much, anything like that. So, after that, that uh palette of
00:14:51milk fail, it was a wrap. Cuz it was a smell, right? Yeah, it's
00:14:54just over with. Alright, glad to be at a Walmart back in
00:14:57Sumter, Las Vegas. Uh let's go back to the field. The hardest
00:15:00hit you've taken in a game. I need the who, the when, and how
00:15:05to happen. Finna get bro this clout. Used to play here. Uh a
00:15:10Landon Roberts. Ooh, yes, dark grind. Yeah, it was actually he
00:15:13hit me twice. I ain't gonna lie. My two hardest hits I took
00:15:16from a Landon. So, uh in my first game, he hit me and you
00:15:20know, we played him twice a year. The second game, he hit
00:15:22me. So, Miami twenty-one, right? In the season opener.
00:15:24Yeah, exactly. Okay. Yeah. Don't go look at the receipts
00:15:27either. Just believe me. Uh did you see him in Pittsburgh at
00:15:30all? Uh. Did he hit you at all when he was with them? Nah. Nah.
00:15:34Alright, that's two football questions in a row. We're
00:15:35already breaking the rules here in the four-minute drill.
00:15:37Um Mayo has talked to us about this new players lounge. You
00:15:41got an Xbox in there. There's a PS five. There's pool. Give us
00:15:44a moment in there. Take us inside. I don't know if you're
00:15:45playing but somebody else. Just take us inside the lounge. Oh
00:15:47yeah, just what? Yesterday, uh me and Kevin Harris. Uh last
00:15:51week, I ain't gonna lie. He beat me. South Carolina against
00:15:54Oklahoma. I was Oklahoma. Of course, he's South Carolina but
00:15:57yesterday, I got him back uh beat him with some plays we
00:16:00run in practice. So, it was it was kinda fun. Okay, playing
00:16:03some NCAA. I still need to get that but I also like my free
00:16:06time because I feel like I would just get home and get
00:16:08sucked into it. Alright. Um alright, two players in the
00:16:10locker room. One who would make the best roommate and someone
00:16:13who you would guess would make the worst roommate. Best
00:16:16roommate I would say I'll say KB. Okay. He'll just get you
00:16:23ready in the morning. Bring that energy and get you ready
00:16:25for your day I feel like and you said the worst. Yeah. The
00:16:29worst roommate. Uh I don't know if you're a neat guy. You don't
00:16:32mind a little slob or they're up late but let me think. Uh
00:16:37we got 90 seconds. I'm running the running the clock out. Yeah
00:16:41yeah. You're gonna get delayed game. Where's where's your
00:16:45roommate? I'll say uh Pop Douglas bro. He played too
00:16:51much. Okay. He's just too playful. He gonna be trying to
00:16:54you know, talk mess all day. I'm not with that. I'm just
00:16:56trying to chill. He's off the wall. Okay. Alright. Uh next
00:16:59question. Going off the field now. How does your mind Ray
00:17:02Stevenson deliver the bad news of breaking up with someone? Are
00:17:06you are you a good breaker upper? Uh I'm not. I'll just
00:17:10ghost you to be honest. Really? Yeah. And that's disrespect. I
00:17:13know. Alright, let's look ahead. Week one, you're playing
00:17:17Cincy. You haven't seen these guys in a while since twenty-two.
00:17:20Mm hmm. Just give me one thought, an actual real
00:17:23thought, not canned like podium answer about facing the
00:17:25Bengals. Uh I know they have a great defense. Uh just how they
00:17:28fly around. It's not even the people, not even like the
00:17:31individual, just their defense as a whole. You know, they play,
00:17:33they play really nice together and they fly around. So,
00:17:36hopefully, we could uh match that offense. Would you play
00:17:39tomorrow if you could? Of course, yeah, my body feel
00:17:42ready and I'm ready. Alright, last one. We got 20 seconds
00:17:44left. Uh this is a staple on the four-minute drill. What's
00:17:47your least favorite media question? Least favorite media
00:17:50question. Uh when y'all ask me about the quarterbacks.
00:17:55Cuz you don't know what to say. You don't wanna get in
00:17:57trouble. I don't know what to say. Like, I'm out there with
00:17:59him but like, I'm not a quarterback. Right. I just
00:18:01know when he hands me off the ball, it's a good handle. Cool.
00:18:04Alright, well, I'm gonna hand it back to Jackson, our
00:18:06producer here. That's four minutes with a reminder.
00:18:08Stevenson, appreciate you, bro. Yes, sir. Thank you. Alright,
00:18:10addition number four of the four-minute drill here with
00:18:12number five, Debrew Peppers, excited to have you on. We got
00:18:14a long list of guests but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't
00:18:16looking forward to having you on a little bit more than uh
00:18:19some guys that come up. Alright, so here's the deal.
00:18:21Alternating football with non-football questions. Once I
00:18:23start the clock, we'll go. You can't run out the clock. That's
00:18:26the only rule. Ready, set, there we go. Alright, Jabril, you
00:18:29take a lot of pride in being a physical dude. How hard you
00:18:32hit? Have you ever in your entire football career hit
00:18:35someone so hard you felt bad? A little bad. No, never. Never,
00:18:40no. No, it's the name of the game. Alright. I'm not trying
00:18:43to, you know, injure anybody but I definitely want you to
00:18:45film. Yeah. Sure. Alright, off the field. How romantic is
00:18:48Jabril Peppers? Uh you know, I'm a lover boy. I can't lie. Uh
00:18:52you won't believe it but I play football but you know, I got
00:18:55a little romance to me. Can you give us an example? Uh you
00:18:58know, flowers, you know, at work, you know, date nights,
00:19:02um you know, flower petals on the floor, things like that.
00:19:06Alright. Yeah, I get into it. That sounds like a Pro Bowl
00:19:08romantic right there. Uh going back to football, looking back
00:19:11in the last 2 years, I want you to give us an example of one of
00:19:13your favorite coverage disguises. So, what you guys
00:19:16were showing on one play, what it ended up being and then how
00:19:19the play went could have been a pick, pass deflection, or
00:19:22just an incompletion. Um I think it was my first year
00:19:25here against Miami. We were showing a max, a max blitz
00:19:29look. Then we broke out into like a match cover two look.
00:19:33Doug got a pick six on that. Stiff arm, Teddy Bridgeward in
00:19:36the face. Um and then probably the Steelers look uh where I
00:19:42got the pick. Uh we were trying to show not max but a little
00:19:45pressure. Try to show opposite. Um you know, I kinda rolled
00:19:49into my hat from, you know, a man to man alignment and you
00:19:53know, made a great play on the ball. So, there's a sim
00:19:54pressure there. That wasn't even a full blitz. Yeah,
00:19:56assimilated. Yeah. Good. Alright, run it down two and a
00:19:59half minutes here in the four-minute drill. Uh what are
00:20:01you watching at home? Well, give give us a show, a couple
00:20:03movies. Uh Blacklist. I just finished Your Honor. Uh
00:20:08Presumed Innocent. Um I was watching House of Dragon but I
00:20:14think that's on standby right now. Why is that? I don't know.
00:20:17I just I just think that's how they did it or maybe it was the
00:20:19season finale. I'm not sure. And uh Power, the Book of
00:20:23Tyreke or the Book of Ghosts. That that's on standby. It's
00:20:25coming back out in September. Alright, if you gotta recommend
00:20:27one, what which other people watch? Uh definitely Presumed
00:20:30Innocent or Your Honor for sure. Okay, back to the field.
00:20:34If I'm chirping Jabril Peppers at the start of a game and you
00:20:37don't really know me. I know you're up in your scouting
00:20:38report but I'm a practice squad guy and you don't know me. What
00:20:41do you, what does Jabril Pepper say back to me? Like, who are
00:20:44you? That's it. That's keep it sweet and not so simple. Keep
00:20:48it short and sweet cuz that'll hit hard and then you're going
00:20:50back and forth with him. Alright. Guys have done that to
00:20:52me so I know from experience. Really? Yeah. Cuz that leads to
00:20:56the next question is that I think you were at one time the
00:20:58biggest recruit in the country. Number one in the entire
00:21:00country which would then make you famous. Everyone should
00:21:02have known high school, college, who Jabril Peppers was. So that
00:21:05makes me wonder what was the first time someone asked you
00:21:07for an autograph? Uh definitely high school. Probably like my
00:21:10freshman year. Really? Yeah. How'd you take that? It was new.
00:21:14It was new for me coming from Pop Warner. Uh I went up and
00:21:17played for the number one team in the country at the time.
00:21:19Ended up starting on varsity. Uh had a good year. Got some
00:21:22scholarships and after that, you know, the rest is kind of
00:21:24history. Do you know for a fact that is he on eBay anywhere? Do
00:21:28you think that person made money off of that? Like holding
00:21:30on to it? Probably if he was smart, you know, he probably
00:21:32held on to it, probably sold it by now but if he did it, you
00:21:35know, it's good sentimental value in that. Alright, under a
00:21:37minute left. Who in the locker room would you least like to
00:21:41date your sister? Uh shoot. Probably like pop or Taekwondo.
00:21:53One of those guys. One of the receivers probably. Alright, so
00:21:55you just did him dirty but you played by by the rules. Why?
00:21:57Give us one quick reason why. Uh I don't know. Uh I put if I
00:22:03had a sister, I wouldn't let anybody, none of my teammates
00:22:05date my sister but if I had to choose, it'd probably be
00:22:07somebody out there receiver room. Okay, I got it. A
00:22:09receiver thing. Very good. Last one. We asked everyone this
00:22:12question. What is your least favorite media question? Um I
00:22:17feel like I'm been doing this for so long and I could kind of
00:22:21answer anything. Uh I just remember that I can control my
00:22:25answer. I can't control what they ask but I can control my
00:22:27answer for sure. Good man. You can control the clock. That was
00:22:29at the buzzer. Drew Bell Peppers, all-star, all-pro
00:22:32performance in a Pro Bowl romantic. We got to learn about
00:22:34that. Thank you, bro. Appreciate it. Alright, another
00:22:36four-minute drill. Pat's Interference Podcast. We got
00:22:38John Jones here hanging out with us here today. Just gave
00:22:41him the drill. Football question, non-football
00:22:43question. We start the clock and then we go. Uh we were
00:22:46actually chatting the other day about you flying planes and
00:22:49this is not the start just yet. This is me buying time so I can
00:22:51pull up the the clock on my phone. Have you flown anywhere
00:22:54in the last 48 hours since we last talked? Forty-eight hours
00:22:57now. Okay, good. Well, we're going to start another football
00:22:59question. Here we go. Uh hardest receiver to cover early
00:23:03in your career. Early in my career. I was in the slot a lot.
00:23:06So, Miami had Jarvis Landry. He was a tough cover, you know,
00:23:09early in my career. Alright, let's go back to the air. So,
00:23:12John learned uh how to fly, got his pilot's license not too
00:23:14long ago. I want to know the wildest ask by a friend or
00:23:18family member to you about, oh, hey, can you just bring me here
00:23:21real quick? I don't know. Jude wants to go to the Bahamas. So,
00:23:24hey, we will see his old teammate. He wants to go to the
00:23:27Bahamas. So, that's that's crazy. That's one of the crazy
00:23:29ones. Would that have happened if he had stayed here? Maybe so.
00:23:32We'll never know. He should've should've stay. That sounds
00:23:35like a soft no. Um moving on. Uh back to non-football. So,
00:23:40Hunger Games wants to make a movie except that's real life
00:23:43and it's everyone in this locker room. Who's the last one
00:23:46standing? Me. Like of course. Of course. Of course it's me.
00:23:51Okay, you gotta give me a runner-up then. Runner-up uh
00:23:54after me, who could I say would be next? Um Big Mike. Big Mike.
00:24:01I think he's he's a good good candidate. He knows a lot of
00:24:03information. Maybe Hunter. Some guys who can move a little
00:24:07bit but know a lot of information at the same time.
00:24:09Okay, I was gonna say Mike is not moving a whole lot of it.
00:24:11That's why I call him Big Mike. Uh when's the last time you
00:24:14chatted with Bill Belichick? Uh it's been a while. Been a while.
00:24:17I have to check in on him soon. Yeah. So, he's on Instagram now.
00:24:19So, I gotta gotta gotta see what that's about. He's on
00:24:22everything. What what is what does that make you feel like?
00:24:24This guy is Mr Media right now. He's got seven different jobs.
00:24:27Man, he's he's enjoying it. Looks like he's enjoying where
00:24:30he's at right now. That's what it looks like to me. Alright,
00:24:32closing in on 2 minutes through the 4-minute drill. Uh
00:24:35what's the worst date you ever went on? Worst date. Oh, man.
00:24:42It's been some bad ones but we're not gonna ruin this on
00:24:45the pass. Happy marriage. So, the the old days don't matter.
00:24:48I got a good one. Nothing like you screwed this up or like
00:24:51didn't pick up the check or forgot something. Come on. No,
00:24:53I'm pretty. You said a lot. We gotta get one. Oh, man. I'm
00:24:56pretty good on dates. I think I've I've had to flake a couple
00:24:59of times. You know, obviously, early in a career, you never
00:25:01know the schedule and things come up. So, a little early
00:25:04faking. I'd say I was a bad date early. Early in my career.
00:25:06Okay. So, flaky. Yeah. Okay. But you learned. Yeah, for sure.
00:25:09I learned. Most underrated player or most underrated
00:25:12teammate you ever had. Just didn't get enough credit.
00:25:15Underrated teammates. I mean, as a coming in as a special
00:25:21teams guy, I'd have to go with a special teams guy. Probably
00:25:24Ebner, you know, and the things he did for us early, you know,
00:25:26special teams right along with Slater. So, definitely Ebner.
00:25:30So, what did you see then that that we missed? You know,
00:25:32aside from like, we're not watching all twenty-two of
00:25:34special teams kick coverage, right? But but he made an
00:25:36impact. He's here for a while. Just as a PP, I don't think
00:25:38people understand like what goes in to make sure points
00:25:41don't go blocked and how much that can change the game. You
00:25:43know, every coach says, hey, the points get blocked. You
00:25:45know, it's like some 90% chance of winning a game with some
00:25:47crazy statistic they throw out but just a guy who can come in,
00:25:50do those things, and and take over. Alright, John Jones gets
00:25:53a day to himself. No family obligations, no practice, no
00:25:55meetings, no work. He's just a home alone. What does the next
00:25:59twelve to sixteen hours look like? Oh, probably wake up, get
00:26:02some good food, maybe go out fishing for a little bit early
00:26:04in the morning, get around the golf, and fly somewhere for
00:26:08dinner. That is an ideal solo day. All of those solo
00:26:11activities, you just nailed it. We're under a minute here in
00:26:13the four-minute drill. Uh we got two more. Let's talk about
00:26:16your least favorite media question. You've been here a
00:26:18while. You're the old man here. I think you gotta nap later
00:26:20after practice. What's your least favorite media question?
00:26:22Uh I don't know. Uh they a lot of them get redundant. You know,
00:26:27the typical questions that you know you're gonna ask but um
00:26:30least favorite. It was like what happened? Why did we lose?
00:26:34I don't know. At some point, you know, you guys watch the
00:26:36game. You saw the points that were scored or the the
00:26:38turnovers or what happened. So, I guess why did we lose? I
00:26:41guess that was kind of a typical. Alright, 15 seconds.
00:26:45Let's do the opposite of that. Why are you gonna win on
00:26:46Sunday? Why are we gonna win? I think we're gonna dominate, you
00:26:49know, dominate the trenches, dominate up front, uh and then
00:26:52make plays. Just put put together some consistent drives
00:26:54on offense and then on the back end uh on defense. You know,
00:26:57get off the field. There it is. Clock management. 4 minutes on
00:27:00the dot. He's John Jones, a major Calian. Thank you very
00:27:02much, bro. Here with Keon White. Another 4 minutes on
00:27:04the Pats Interference Podcast. Keon just got the rundown.
00:27:06Football, the non-football and we'll start the clock. Go till
00:27:09there's 4 minutes left. Uh Keon, first question, how long
00:27:14would I need to train to be you in an arm wrestling contest?
00:27:17All your life. All my life. Yeah. Who uh is there anyone in
00:27:22here that could out arm wrestle you? Uh maybe Wise,
00:27:27Farms. They they work out a lot. They work out in the
00:27:30morning a lot. For sure. So Joseph D. Lyman. Yeah, maybe.
00:27:32Yeah, for sure. Alright, football question. I think D
00:27:35Lyman generally underrated as far as what you have to do
00:27:37mentally, right? Going into each play, what you're looking
00:27:39for. Can you give us a mental checklist? You get the call,
00:27:42what you're looking for, what you're doing next. Um yeah, so
00:27:45prior to the call, you need to see what the down at distance
00:27:47is. Then, once you get the call, you need to see where
00:27:50you're lining up with. You need to see the back location,
00:27:53where the quarterback's at, what's the receiver stances,
00:27:56sets, splits, um offense alignment stances, splits. You
00:28:01need to understand where your pressures are coming from
00:28:03behind you and then you need to understand what the tendency
00:28:06and the um offense wants to do in the situation that you're
00:28:10in. Got it. So, it's like uh going to class for 60 times
00:28:13based on how many snaps you have in a particular game. Back
00:28:15to non-football. Uh person in the world, quarterback or
00:28:18non-quarterback you would most like to sack? Um probably my
00:28:23father, my dad. Why is that? Just to pretty much talk ****
00:28:27I don't know. We got a pretty competitive relationship. So,
00:28:31definitely non-quarterback my dad. Got it. Back to football.
00:28:34Uh you mentioned pressure. Talk to us about your favorite
00:28:36pressure. It could be a blitz, a simulated pressure, a certain
00:28:39rush stunt. What does it look like? How does it work? Um
00:28:42favorite pressure. Anyone where I could just run straight. So
00:28:44like anything like that. Uh it's my favorite one. Alright.
00:28:47Yeah. Looked like that happened a couple times in
00:28:49Cincy. Yeah. Alright, here we go. Uh we're almost at 2
00:28:52minutes here in the four-minute drill. Give us a moment if this
00:28:56has ever happened where Keon White cried in a movie. You
00:28:58ever cried in a movie? Cried in a movie? Nah. I think I think
00:29:02the last time I cried in the last 20 years is probably when
00:29:05I got drafted. That's it? Last 20 years? Yeah. What was it?
00:29:09Go ahead. I don't know. Like maybe when I was like getting
00:29:13whoopings when I was like a kid. Like other than that, I'm
00:29:15not crying for real. Not a crier. Do you ever come close
00:29:18to crying in a non-football, non-whooping setting? Nah,
00:29:22never. Yes. I don't remember. I couldn't tell you. Alright. Uh
00:29:26give us a scouting report. Keon White and Keon White. Keon
00:29:29White, what do you mean Keon White? Like if I'm with the
00:29:30Seahawks right now and I'm reading their scouting report
00:29:32of Keon White, what what do you what does it say? Um **** I
00:29:37don't know. I never really stopped to think about things
00:29:38like that. Like I kind of just like. We got some time now.
00:29:41Yeah. So I just I'm just run fast. I'm gonna just go chase
00:29:44down plays. So I guess you gotta finish the blocks for
00:29:47real. Alright. Uh when this person texts you a good game or
00:29:51good play, it means a little bit more. Who is that person
00:29:54for you? Uh probably my coaches. Those are the ones
00:29:57that know. Like I feel like with the whole like PFF and all
00:30:00these commentators and everything like that. How are
00:30:02you gonna grade somebody off of like something you don't know
00:30:04to play? So like your coaches know best. I guess those are
00:30:08the ones that like mean the most. Where what's the coach
00:30:11who meant the most? Like you got this text and maybe it was
00:30:13surprising or just minimal more cuz you were close. Like
00:30:16this coach is different from the rest. I mean the coach I
00:30:19got now. So like Jerry uh DC. So like those are the ones that's
00:30:24coaching me right now. So those are the ones that mean the most
00:30:26to me right now for real. Alright. Cheat day. What's Keon
00:30:29White eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner? What are you
00:30:32gorging on? Uh so like my Tuesdays I cook on the grill.
00:30:35So like I cook on the grill, have some people over and
00:30:38those those are my things. I love I love to grill. Love to
00:30:40grill as much as possible. So that's my cheat day meal.
00:30:42What's on the grill? Uh yesterday I did uh jerk chicken,
00:30:47uh the bourbon glazed salmon, cabbage, um anything. I throw
00:30:52up anything on the grill for her. You have any uh sports
00:30:54riders over ever? Uh nah, no sports riders. Just alright.
00:30:58We'll work on that. Last one. Um used to play tight end, ex
00:31:01defensive players here have caught a couple passes. Mike
00:31:04Ray will be the most famous among them. Are you ready to
00:31:06catch a touchdown pass this year if need be? Man, for sure.
00:31:09I never caught a touchdown uh pass in college. So I feel
00:31:12like I gotta get one eventually. Alright, keep an
00:31:14eye out for him. He's Keon White. Play a little offense.
00:31:16Of course, on defense. Running straight. That's the scouting
00:31:18report. Appreciate you, man. Sure, no problem. Wrapping up
00:31:20another episode as promised. Kyle Dugger here for a four
00:31:22minute drill. You know the drill. Football questions on
00:31:24football questions. We start the clock. We get out of here.
00:31:27Here we go. Number one. Uh if you could hit this teammate
00:31:31every single day in practice, who would it be? His teammate.
00:31:36Pop. Pop. Why? Yeah, pop talk a lot. Okay. Kyle Dugger gets
00:31:41into an Uber. Do you share when someone asks inevitably,
00:31:44oh, what do you do for a living? Do you're an NFL player
00:31:46or how do you, how do you handle the Uber? Uh I say um I
00:31:50play ball. Typically, I don't really share unless they keep
00:31:54digging. I don't wanna lie. But nah, I don't share at first.
00:31:58You don't lie at all. I don't like to lie now. Cuz ball only
00:32:01invites more questions, right? Is it baseball? Is it football?
00:32:03Basketball? Sometimes, yeah, some you can tell they wanna
00:32:06ask questions but they don't and those are usually people I
00:32:09appreciate. But yeah, it depends. Alright, what's uh
00:32:14name an opponent you played against? You find is is super
00:32:16underrated by the media.
00:32:20An opponent. You're gonna have to give me some time for that
00:32:23one. Yeah, I would have to think about it. I can't really
00:32:25think of anybody off the top. Okay, we'll come back to it.
00:32:28Going back to non-football. Uh what's something in your house
00:32:32as a as a parent? You do. That makes you either a good cop or
00:32:36a bad cop and are you a good cop or bad cop at home? I'm
00:32:40definitely bad cop uh for sure. Why? Uh because when I come
00:32:45home, my son at two already knows like he gets to look like
00:32:50he knows I'm gonna be on him. Pretty tough about things. Like
00:32:52I make my two-year-old like clean up. Like messes like and
00:32:56like stand up, stand there until he finishes cleaning it
00:32:58cuz he's really smart. So, I know he can do it and I don't
00:33:01think uh he appreciates that too much but I gotta do it.
00:33:04That sounds like something you had to do. Oh, for sure. Yeah,
00:33:07we were chores was uh non-negotiable. Okay, let's say
00:33:10you hear something in the media and you stand next to them until
00:33:13they get this right. What's something that's a
00:33:15misconception or it's been said that you want them to clean up
00:33:17that mess? Something you can clean up for good. We say this,
00:33:20it's not true about football. Uh about football and myself.
00:33:24About football. Um I would say the just how just how easy it
00:33:33is in general. Like I feel like a lot of people when they
00:33:36watch it, they're like, oh, it's, you know, easy. Just do
00:33:39this. You know, see it this way. It should be easy to see.
00:33:42Um so, I think just like seeing things how they are and how
00:33:46they look to us on the field is a is a big difference between
00:33:48the media and and ourselves and I don't think it's the easiest
00:33:51they may think it is. Okay, this just in from Kyle Duggar.
00:33:54Football very very hard uh and he's excellent at it. Belichick
00:33:57low lights are famous here. The tapes they used to play in
00:34:01Can you take us to one moment where you got roasted in
00:34:04particular? What was the game? What did Bill say? How did you
00:34:07feel when that came up? Uh so we played the Raiders last year.
00:34:12Um I had to play in the middle of the field where I dove down
00:34:15um to cover Devonta Adams unprovoked. There was no reason
00:34:20to do so um and left the middle of the field wide open and yeah
00:34:24he laid into me pretty good just far as you know let me
00:34:27know that I was basically as bad as it gets you know at that
00:34:30position and and let me know that that was an awful mistake
00:34:33that I made so you're smiling but that stung. It hurt pretty
00:34:38good. I mean good pain. I say that I learned from it. Alright
00:34:41getting close to the end when Kyle Duggar in the past broke
00:34:43up with someone, how did he deliver the news? Uh face to
00:34:48face face to face. Okay, let's do it right now. We're face to
00:34:51face. I mean, I ain't breaking up with y'all. You know, yeah,
00:34:55I can't really re reenact it. You can't. No. Quick
00:34:58conversation. Long one. Are you listening for a while? Yeah,
00:35:00it was a long combo. Um I try to stick in there for every
00:35:04question. You know, be authentic but it was tough. It
00:35:07was real tough. Alright, we got 20 seconds. We'll skip the
00:35:10pony question for later. You were named a captain today.
00:35:12First of all, congratulations. Second of all, you've been in a
00:35:14captain's meeting now. 10 seconds. Tell us one thing in
00:35:17there that people wouldn't know about. I can't. See, I can't do
00:35:21that. I can't just be giving. Uh it's a very open conversation.
00:35:26I'll say that. Um it's not like one guy and everybody just
00:35:31like kinda you know, listen, it's it's a very open talk um
00:35:35and it's very I think everybody's very receptive in
00:35:38there and I don't think people, most people think it'd be like
00:35:41that especially with the head coach in the meeting. So, I
00:35:43think that's uh one thing people might not expect. Well,
00:35:45we go over for the first time in four-minute drill history
00:35:47but that's because Kyle as he said, likes the long
00:35:49conversations whether he's breaking up with you or he's
00:35:51staying together here with me. Kyle, appreciate the time and
00:35:53best luck on Sunday. Alright, Jalen Polk is our victim this
00:35:56week in the four-minute drill to wrap up another episode of
00:35:58Pat's Interference. He knows the drill. You know the drill.
00:36:00We're gonna start the clock and here we go. Uh Jalen Polk goes
00:36:03to karaoke. What's the first song he's gonna pick? Um I'll
00:36:08probably pick you know the song where it goes to the right to
00:36:14the right to the right. Yeah yeah so it better it'll be that
00:36:17one. Are you doing it that volume? I feel like you gotta
00:36:19be a little bit louder at karaoke bar. Nah yeah I'll I'll
00:36:21be louder for sure. Uh I I like that song just cuz you know it
00:36:25can get everybody up and out this season dancing too so.
00:36:28Alright. Uh the NFL corner you're most looking to forward
00:36:31to facing either this season or sometime in your career is
00:36:34who? Uh I really don't have a valid answer on that one. Uh I
00:36:39just look forward to going out there and competing every week
00:36:43with anybody. How about the next guy? Jalen Ramsey looking
00:36:45forward to that? Uh yeah for sure. Alright. The most
00:36:48important lesson you've learned about being in the NFL is what?
00:36:51I think um weighing in correctly. Um and when weigh-ins
00:36:59come in. Um of course you know not being late. Uh they they
00:37:05they find you nowadays. So not saying that that's me but uh
00:37:08that is something that you gotta look forward to. Okay.
00:37:11When you look across this locker room and you think I'm
00:37:14the best at this. Could be a game and activity. What is that?
00:37:17What is that thing? I'm cooking. What do you cook? I
00:37:21can cook some chicken spaghetti. I can cook some
00:37:23turkey neck, some oxtails. I can cook whatever you need. I
00:37:28got it. Anything you need cuz I was gonna say I don't cook but
00:37:31I make chicken, turkey, and spaghetti but the oxtails is
00:37:33new. That's a curveball. Yeah, oxtails was a cornbread, some
00:37:36gravy, and some rice. You good. Alright, best part of moving to
00:37:40New England so far. I think the best part is honestly the
00:37:43people and the scenery. Uh it's real pretty out here. Um
00:37:46especially like right now with the fall and how you know
00:37:49everything is changing. So um it's pretty cool. Alright,
00:37:53worst part of moving to New England. Uh there's no worst
00:37:56part so far. Other than I think I think like there's not as
00:38:01many like fast foods. I don't know. That may be where like I
00:38:04live at but that kinda spread out so you gotta kinda dig and
00:38:08look for em. Yeah, I was gonna say you're coming from, you
00:38:10know, Seattle. You got in and out and then you're coming from
00:38:12Texas before that. Like anything you want is probably
00:38:14just a five-minute driveway. A little different here. Yo, yo,
00:38:16a lot different for sure. You like Duncan? I love Duncan. I
00:38:18love Duncan. I've I've no no hold off on Starbucks but I
00:38:22kinda shifted away. Uh my girlfriend put me on a drink.
00:38:25I think it's like the butter pecan iced coffee with cream,
00:38:29no sugar. It's been my go-to. Every morning? Not every
00:38:33morning but mostly like on the off days. Alright. Uh we got a
00:38:37minute and a half left. You scored a touchdown in college
00:38:40against Christian Gonzalez in Oregon. I know it wasn't
00:38:42against him but I'm curious when you were getting ready for
00:38:44that game, what was what was the scouting report number zero
00:38:46over there? Oh yeah, I mean, shoot, elite guy. So, you know,
00:38:50you gotta be able to game plan and prep, you know, around guys
00:38:53like that because you know, it's gonna be AA dog fight when
00:38:57you able to line up against somebody like that. Alright,
00:39:00what's the wildest ask you've received a request in the last
00:39:0312 months from someone in your life? Tickets, money, you get
00:39:07to the NFL, someone comes out of the woodwork to say, oh, can I
00:39:10one of these? Um probably like snacks and stuff from like some
00:39:16of the guys in the receiver room. With the snacks and their
00:39:19teammates? Yeah. So, they had me and JB go to the store and
00:39:24bring everybody snacks and they'll just tally up stuff
00:39:27every day until we brought some stuff. So. Okay. Sounds like
00:39:31rookie hazing. Yeah. Yeah. Alright, two more. Uh what is
00:39:33Jalen Polk Trash Talk sound like? Uh uh Jalen Polk is here
00:39:39right now. I think on the field is like PZ or Monster P. So,
00:39:43uh he's not here right now. You gotta tune in on Sunday to see.
00:39:47Wait, you have a persona. Yeah. Yeah. Monster P. Monster P.
00:39:50Give us a little taste of Monster P. This will be the
00:39:52last question. We're running out of time but like what's that
00:39:54dude like? That's all I can say. Alright, put on the mask.
00:39:59That'll do it for the four-minute drill. Jalen Polk
00:40:01AKA Master P. Monster P. Excuse me. Thank you, sir.
00:40:04Wrapping up some more past interference with the first
00:40:06two-time guest who plays to the Patriots, Kendrick Foreign
00:40:09doing an episode back in the summer. He's back. He's playing
00:40:11and he's ready for a four-minute drill. He knows
00:40:13the rules. You can't run out the clock. You just gotta
00:40:15answer the questions. I'll start the clock. You ready?
00:40:17I'm ready. Let's go. Pop Douglas, no lie. Gave this
00:40:19segment a five-star review on our way out of the locker room
00:40:22right now. Do you think that we're gonna live up to that? I
00:40:23think so. Let's go. Okay, here we go. So, starting the clock.
00:40:26Ready, set, go. Question number one. You share a lot of your
00:40:29life online. Draft parties, date nights. I know what the
00:40:33inside of your house looks like. It's on YouTube. What is
00:40:35the maddest someone has ever been at you for filming while
00:40:39you guys were hanging out? Oh, um, Gerard Mayo kinda got mad
00:40:43at me for filming sometimes. Like getting off the pictures
00:40:46plane, going to San Fran, he was mad at me. What are you
00:40:49saying? What happened next? He said, man, just get off of
00:40:51social media. I'm tired of you on social media. Did you stop?
00:40:55Nah, I didn't stop. I'm not gonna stop. Alright, we're not
00:40:58stopping either. Question number two. How does a Mayo team
00:41:00meeting differ from a Bill Belichick team meeting? Uh,
00:41:03kinda more open, more funny, more funny. Not as serious.
00:41:08Still serious, but not as serious. So, we've heard Bill
00:41:11crack some decent jokes, especially in low lights.
00:41:13What's a Mayo joke sound like? How is it funnier? Ah, it's
00:41:16just, I can't, I can't explain it, bro. It's just, it's just
00:41:19funny. You know he's a funny person. Like, he's more open in
00:41:22his funniness. Bill was more low key in his funniness. Gotcha.
00:41:25Uh, speaking of funny, funniest teammate you've ever had?
00:41:28Funniest teammate, Jawan Bentley. How funny is he? He's,
00:41:31he's sneaky funny. So, you gotta like get to know him before
00:41:34you can understand. Okay. You just spent most of the last 12
00:41:38months rehabbing from an ACL. Most of that, I'm sure, sucked.
00:41:41What was the best part about rehabbing from an ACL? Uh, I
00:41:44was on vacation early. Like on the beach, cuz you were in LA.
00:41:49Yeah, yeah. I was on vacation, enjoying LA sun. So, that was
00:41:52kinda the perk of it. You know, not playing. I get to just
00:41:55chill. Alright. Uh, what is the teammate you would least like
00:41:59to Netflix and chill with your sister and then date? Pop
00:42:02Douglas. Wow. Pop again who has been the answer to this
00:42:05question many times before. Why is it pop? I can't trust him
00:42:09yet. I don't know. He ain't showed me uh he doesn't have a
00:42:12girlfriend. He doesn't have a wife or anything. So, I don't
00:42:15know. I don't think he's there yet. Alright, we're gonna have
00:42:17to get Pop back on here to answer for this cuz he's
00:42:19getting buried. Um Drake Mays gonna start on Sunday. What's
00:42:22just a fun fact about him that folks outside the locker room
00:42:25wouldn't know? Um I think they know he's a good basketball
00:42:30player. Mm hmm. I think they saw that. So, um besides that,
00:42:35I don't know. He's a hooper. So, I think he's gonna hoop on
00:42:38Sunday. Have you ever seen him hoop? I haven't seen him hoop.
00:42:40I only seen the highlights. Okay. Well, what's he like in a
00:42:43team meeting then? Like, is he funny? He's uh we've heard he's
00:42:45outspoken. Just any kinda little Drake May tip it. I can't
00:42:49really say. He he's not really like a jokester. He's like he
00:42:52talks fast as we see like in his media interviews. What do
00:42:55you mean? What are you talking about? I wouldn't know anything
00:42:56about that. He talks fast. He talks fast. You can't really
00:42:59like understand him but he's not really a funny guy. I can't
00:43:02I don't I'm still learning him so I gotta I could come back to
00:43:05me in a few weeks. You know what you need to do? You gotta
00:43:07have him on YouTube. I gotta have him on YouTube. That's a
00:43:10great idea. Yeah. Or get on some born blessed swag. Anyway,
00:43:13moving on from uh pimping out your stuff. When my wife asked
00:43:16me to do blank around the house, I can't stand it. Fill
00:43:20in the blank. Uh take out the trash. That's it? That's kinda
00:43:27it. I can't sometimes like going to eat. If I'm super
00:43:31tired, she's like, let's go eat somewhere. I can't stand it but
00:43:34I'll go because it's my wife but. Yeah. So, those two. Trash
00:43:38and and going out to eat when I don't feel like it. Smart man.
00:43:41Uh oh, we got three more. NFL corner when you beat him on a
00:43:44route for a catch. It just feels a little better. Who is
00:43:47that corner? I would say Ramsey. He's tough. I didn't
00:43:51beat him last week but he's tough. It feels good cuz he's
00:43:54elite. That's it? That's it. No personal beef? No personal
00:43:57beef. All love. Alright, two more. What's uh advice Kendrick
00:44:00Bourne would have given to himself? If you're talking to
00:44:03yourself when you first get to New England, March 2021, all
00:44:06that you know and experience since what would you tell
00:44:07yourself back then? Uh take care of my body. Um I just did
00:44:11bad with that first coming here and now that I'm doing that, I
00:44:13feel better. So, taking care of my body. Gone out to eat less.
00:44:17Then again, you had 100 yards. So, yeah, that's it gets tricky
00:44:21but yeah, I probably eat better. Take care of my body.
00:44:23Alright, last 2 seconds. Your least favorite media question.
00:44:27Uh I don't know. Um how does it feel when you lose? That one
00:44:34admittedly stinks but this is not stunk. I think we got
00:44:37another five stars from Kendrick Bourne boys. Five star
00:44:39baby. Appreciate you. Patrick Fearns out. Break a little
00:44:41history here in the pot. We have our first returning guest
00:44:43to the four-minute drill. Pop Douglas who's the uh talk of
00:44:46the town right now. His first touchdown. We are gonna get to
00:44:48that right off the top. Start the clock right now. Okay, pop.
00:44:52The most random person to text you after that touchdown on
00:44:56Sunday. Most random person. I don't know. I was expecting a
00:45:02lot of people. Uh I honestly don't know this one. I honestly
00:45:06like we gotta we gotta go fast that one. I don't know. Okay,
00:45:08we'll circle back. Uh in talking to other teammates on
00:45:11this same segment, your name has come up a lot. Specifically
00:45:13when I ask, who's the teammate you would least like to date
00:45:15your sister? Let's give Pop Douglas a chance to defend
00:45:19himself and pitch himself if that ever that opportunity ever
00:45:23arose. Uh I don't think I think I'm the the perfect person you
00:45:27know to date a sister but if I had to pick somebody on our
00:45:31team. No, no, no. You gotta you gotta defend yourself. Why why
00:45:33should they feel okay with you dating their sisters? Cuz I'm
00:45:35cool, collected. Um you feel me? I'm always laughing and
00:45:39then I I'm put a smile on your sister face. So, I mean, hey,
00:45:42I'm here. I'm here and I'm and I was raised by ladies. So, I'm
00:45:44not too late. Alright, very good. Uh what's a receiver in
00:45:47the league you like watching the most when you're looking at
00:45:49tape from other teams? Uh Tyreke uh Tyreke Hill. Man, it's
00:45:54it's received on every team honestly. Alright, there it is.
00:45:57Yeah. Uh another name that has come up when I ask, okay, who's
00:46:01doing the most talking on the field? Pop Douglas, your
00:46:03teammates keep naming you. What does Pop Douglas sound like on
00:46:05the field when he's talking a little smack? I do not I do not
00:46:09talk smack but I mean, I don't really I don't really say no.
00:46:12I let my plan do the talking. Alright, there it is. Uh has
00:46:15Pop Douglas ever cried while watching a movie and if so,
00:46:18what movie? Uh no, I I never cry. I might have got teary
00:46:21eyed but I never I never cried. I never came out. Well, when
00:46:24did you get teary eyed? Um let me see. You know, uh be movies
00:46:27that you know, people Let's see what movie. Not gridiron
00:46:32game. That was a good one. Oh, gridiron gridiron game. You
00:46:35know, you get uh if y'all watch that football movie, they was
00:46:38in jail and they were close with each other and I mean, it
00:46:41was against, they was on opposite uh whatever game.
00:46:45There was opposite games but you know, the the tension that
00:46:48it was in, they had to be on the same team and then, they
00:46:51got close together and then he end up getting shot on the
00:46:53field and then, yeah, they that was that was crazy. Wow, that
00:46:56sounds like a surprise ending. Uh moving back to actual
00:46:59football. We're hopefully don't get shot. What was the hardest
00:47:01hit you've ever taken? Who was it? When was the game and what
00:47:05happened next? Um probably uh with forty-niners this year uh
00:47:10Fred Warren, I was going through the middle and I swear
00:47:13Fred Warren was looking straight at me and he just hit
00:47:15me and I mean, it didn't hurt but that was probably the
00:47:17hardest I've been hit though. See any stars? Uh no, I didn't
00:47:20see no stars. I didn't see any stars. Alright, we got about 90
00:47:23seconds left. Uh there's some heated competition I've heard
00:47:26in the game room. NCAA football. I know you're playing
00:47:28on there. Give me the three best players in the locker room
00:47:31when it comes to being on the sticks for NCAA. Me, me, okay,
00:47:36me, Keyshawn. I say Keyshawn Booty. Uh let's see. Oh,
00:47:42Baltimore. Baltimore. Baltimore. Y'all playing with
00:47:45your same alums. Little Liberty, LSU, Mamma. Uh no, I
00:47:49can't do that. I couldn't do that. I was cheating. They they
00:47:51got. No, I can't do that. Alright, 1 minute left. Give me
00:47:54a Drake play that most impressed you. It could have
00:47:55been in practice. It could have been a game. Just something you
00:47:57go. Oh. Yeah, um before to have uh the ball to Keyshawn Booty.
00:48:03That was a uh great play and a great timing. Alright, cheat
00:48:07day. You get to eat whatever you want all day. What's Pop
00:48:09Douglas gorging on? Cheeseburger, pizza. I mean, I
00:48:13still eat that. So, I mean, it's a cheat day. Uh if I cheat
00:48:17day, it has to be something healthy. So, every day is cheat
00:48:20day for Pop Douglas. Man, I wish I could look like you and
00:48:23have every day be cheat day. Alright, uh one more we've got
00:48:26right here. I think that actually might have been it.
00:48:29You can answer to every single thing. Oh, we'll do the same
00:48:31thing. Uh what's your favorite media question? Well, last time
00:48:34we had John, we asked you about your least favorite media
00:48:36question. What's your favorite media question? Uh favorite
00:48:37media's question. Um
00:48:41Something about my touchdown. Something with the touchdown.
00:48:44Uh that's my favorite media question so far now with the
00:48:48touchdown. Um my first touchdown. How does it feel?
00:48:51I have my first touchdown. Perfect. Right on the clock.
00:48:54Four-minute drill is over. Something about the touchdown.
00:48:56Hey, you keep scoring and we'll keep asking, man. Appreciate
00:48:58you. Alright, back here with another four-minute drill. The
00:49:00only rule, you can't run out the clock on a four-minute
00:49:02drill. The Joe Milton certainly done that over his career.
00:49:05First-time guest in Pat's Interference. You know the deal.
00:49:07We've talked about it. I think I have more questions for you
00:49:09than any guest so far. So, we're gonna try to go rapid
00:49:11fire here. You ready? Here we go. Okay, starting the clock.
00:49:13Number one, if Joe Milton wasn't famous for being a
00:49:16quarterback and his arm strength for having a
00:49:18quarterback, what talent would you be most famous for?
00:49:21Playing the drums. Really? Yes. Tell us more about that. I feel
00:49:25like the what I can do with drumsticks um and what I
00:49:29learned over my my life and you know, growing up and also
00:49:33drum lines, my favorite moves. So, I feel like um you know,
00:49:37handling the drumsticks. Uh I actually was playing the drums
00:49:40yesterday. So, handling drumsticks very uh very well
00:49:43and um being able to just come up with beats. So, I have about
00:49:46four minutes worth of questions off of that but we gotta keep
00:49:48this moving. Uh next one. So, you came from an offense where
00:49:51I know you told me it was one word and go. That was the whole
00:49:53play call. You're up to sixteen seventeen now. How did
00:49:56you go from one word to seventeen? What were you
00:49:58studying like over the summer at home? Um just hearing it out
00:50:01my helmet. Um you know, my girlfriend, Destiny, she did a
00:50:04lot from just, you know, just calling out a walkie talkie. I
00:50:08bought some walkie talkies off Amazon and uh they had some
00:50:11earpieces. So, that's pretty much what we did um and then
00:50:14when we went to Fort Lauderdale with the receivers, had uh pop
00:50:18um you know, he called him out and I just called out the
00:50:21routes and then we kinda just lined up in the living room and
00:50:25kinda just snapped the ball. Is that before or after you busted
00:50:28his hand? Cuz he spilled that those beans on this podcast
00:50:30earlier this year. I did see that video. He did spill those
00:50:33beans. Uh that was before. That was like when we first got down
00:50:36there. Alright, let's go back to Knoxville. Uh give us a big
00:50:39man on campus moment. Whether it was a perk or a party that
00:50:43you just looked around and said, okay, it's good to be Joe
00:50:45Milne right now.
00:50:48Big man on campus moment.
00:50:53Sheesh. Sheesh, man. A lot of things running through my head
00:50:57right now. You don't have to hide any of them. You can just
00:50:59just zoom in with one one good time. Could have been after
00:51:02win. Middle of the week, whatever it was. Big man on
00:51:05campus moment. Um I'll say after Sheesh. I'm gonna say
00:51:12after uh Vanderbilt game. Uh when I crown myself uh after the
00:51:16touchdown, everybody just start chanting Joe. So, that was
00:51:20pretty. Yeah, it was like more of a king joke, king joke and
00:51:23that was pretty lit. So, yeah. Alright, uh back to the play
00:51:26calls. Spit out right now. Either from your Michigan days
00:51:28or if you feel comfortable enough, the offense you're in
00:51:30right now. Just a long play call for us. Okay, let's go
00:51:35Michigan days. Let's go. X right. X right two. Twin right.
00:51:42We got Q eight max bomb. Lines left. Yeah. Of course and I
00:51:49don't know this for a fact. He called a deep pass play because
00:51:52he's Joe Milton. It was a bomb deep left. Alright. Uh before
00:51:55you had your current girlfriend, how did Joe Milton
00:51:57break the news that he was breaking up with someone? Uh
00:52:00just stop talking to him. You ghosted. Uh yeah, I'm yeah, I
00:52:05ghosted. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie cuz the camera
00:52:07right here ghosted for sure. Yeah, you and remind me too.
00:52:10Disgraceful. Um can you do a Drake May impression? Um a
00:52:14Drake May impression. Alright, uh let's see.
00:52:18We gotta we gotta go bro. Come on man. Like gotta go. Like
00:52:26we just gotta go but it's okay. That's me. That's me.
00:52:29That's me. Alright, when does he say that? That was awesome.
00:52:33Um usually usually be in practice like on like the
00:52:37Wednesday practice like if it's if it's like a goal ball that
00:52:42was supposed to be thrown and somebody run a hitch um just
00:52:45cuz they seen it a little bit different. Um you know, we'll
00:52:48come back. He'll come back after his reps is over and
00:52:50be like, man, we gotta go. We gotta go. You gotta run the go
00:52:53ball. I'm trying to throw you the go ball. Okay, speaking of
00:52:55gotta go, we got 15 seconds. I got two questions for you. I
00:52:57can't wait to face this defense or player in my NFL career. Who
00:53:00is that or what is that defense? Anybody. Um I just
00:53:04wanna show why I'm the best and why I think I'm the best.
00:53:06Okay. Uh normally we end with what's your least favorite
00:53:08media question? Even very smiley so far. What's one
00:53:11question you would like us to ask next time we have a big
00:53:13scrum. We got more cameras. Um what else do I like to do um
00:53:18other than throwing the ball deep? Um I always just thought
00:53:21about like media, you know, I mean, obviously, my arm is, you
00:53:26know, very impressive. Um I was blessed with that talent but
00:53:30uh just more about, you know, other other things that I do at
00:53:33the quarterback position. Alright, there it is. Next time
00:53:36we talk to Joe Millon, we might be talking about that and
00:53:37definitely a lot of the drums and maybe we'll get another
00:53:39impression out of him. That's Joe Milton for Pats
00:53:41Interference Podcast. We'll see you next time. Special
00:53:43Halloween edition of the 4 Minute Drill here with
00:53:44Christian Gonzalez who uh I just informed. It's also a
00:53:48special edition because we've crowdsourced some questions. We
00:53:50have questions from your teammates. You don't know what
00:53:52they want me to ask you but I think you're gonna enjoy and
00:53:55they're gonna go right off the top. So, here we go. Question
00:53:57number one. Uh how much money do you spend on TikTok? On
00:54:02TikTok? Oh, I I actually just made order like probably an
00:54:06hour ago. What'd you buy? What did I buy? Buy some snacks, a
00:54:13rug, some decorations for the house. Uh TikTok got some good
00:54:18stuff on there. Alright. When you're at home, you're playing
00:54:21Call of Duty. Someone wants to know why are you so bad? Uh who
00:54:25asked this one? Can't tell you. They crazy. Uh last night I did
00:54:29have a bad game but majority of the time I'm I'm I'm out there
00:54:33stepping. Alright, last one. You won't guess who this is
00:54:35from. If you get ten reps against Pop Douglas, why are
00:54:38you losing all ten? He crazy. That's why that's why he ain't
00:54:41ask me. He ain't ask me but he gonna win some but I like I
00:54:45like me over him. Okay. Uh in the spirit of Halloween, what
00:54:48spooks Christian Gonzalez the most? What speaks me the most?
00:54:59I don't know. I don't know. Nothing? Spiders, snakes, a guy
00:55:02running to the end zone who's too far away for even you to
00:55:04catch up and watch. Uh yeah, giving up touchdowns. Giving up
00:55:08touchdowns. How about KB? Cuz he's over there making noise.
00:55:10Is he scary at all? No, no, no, no, no. Okay. Uh not many
00:55:14people know this. Your brother-in-law is David Blau, ex
00:55:16quarterback in the NFL now coaching with Washington. How
00:55:20badly would you like to intercept your brother-in-law?
00:55:23Oh yeah, of course. Uh of course I would want to. Uh
00:55:26that'd be crazy. He he he wouldn't like it obviously. Um
00:55:30but I mean I wish I got the chance but sorry. Any backyard
00:55:34games for the family? Oh yeah for sure. We we always talk uh
00:55:38talk smack me and him. Um. Did you pick him in the backyard? I
00:55:42probably have sometime. I don't I don't remember but but he
00:55:47ain't he ain't complete nothing on me. Okay. Uh do you believe
00:55:51in ghosts? No. No. Alright. What's the worst advice a coach
00:55:55ever gave you? Worst advice a coach ever gave me. Could be
00:56:02any sport, any level, anything, something simple and you're
00:56:04like, that just ain't right the second you heard it. You
00:56:06have to be able to lift a lot of weight to be a good
00:56:10football player. Oh, well, there you go. What's uh what's
00:56:13um the least amount of weight you can do? Like I you you're
00:56:16obviously plenty athletic speed. This is not a test of
00:56:18your manhood. You just admitted in some degree, you can't lift
00:56:21a whole lot. Bench is what? Like, what are you maxing out?
00:56:23Yeah, I ain't maxed out in a long time. I don't know. We
00:56:26don't we don't we don't. Once you get out of high school, you
00:56:28don't really max out. I mean, in college, I I couldn't tell
00:56:34you. I ain't maxed out probably in about 4 years. So, alright,
00:56:37there you go. Uh let's go with this one. If you could hit this
00:56:40teammate every day in practice, who would it be?
00:56:44Dial. Marcellus. A fellow corner. Wow. Defense on defense
00:56:49crime. Why Marcellus? He's a rookie. It's my young but I
00:56:52gotta gotta get him right. Alright. Uh Christian Gonzalez
00:56:55is out at a bar or he's out at the movies. He's out anywhere.
00:56:58What's his best pickup line aside from I play for the New
00:57:01England Patriots? Oh, you ain't getting that out of me. I ain't
00:57:04bringing nothing football related up. Nothing. We just
00:57:08talked about ghosts and lifting. Oh, you're saying at
00:57:11at the bar of the club, you're not bringing up that you play
00:57:13at all. No, not at all. Okay. So, what do you say? I don't
00:57:18know. It depends. I don't know. I ain't saying nothing. Okay.
00:57:22I'll let them approach. You'll let them approach. Okay,
00:57:25playing it cool. Um teammates always say I want this teammate
00:57:28to have my back in the trenches. This is a dog. He'll
00:57:31have my back. Who is that number one teammate for you?
00:57:38Or you can go the opposite. Who's at the end of the list?
00:57:42And guys have answered this question for or do you want
00:57:43least having your back in the trenches?
00:57:48I'll go to the first one. Kian. Kian. Alright. Self
00:57:52explanatory. Two more real quick. We got five seconds
00:57:54left in the four-minute drill. Do you have a Gerard Mayo
00:57:56impression? No. I ain't got one. I ain't got one. Smart
00:58:00man. Alright. Least favorite media question.
00:58:07Somebody that's happened recently that when we went to
00:58:11London, they asked me about if people ate bad food. What that
00:58:16guy? I don't know. That was a bad question. Okay. It got
00:58:20nothing to do with me. Nothing to do with football. So, I mean,
00:58:22it was just pointless. I did see that clip. Shout out to
00:58:25Rich and Keefe and Adam Jones's WEI. Enough about the bad food
00:58:28in London though that also might have been. Oh, he left.
00:58:30Kendrick Bourne's fault. Christian Gonzalez wants the
00:58:32ladies to know. You gotta come to him. Otherwise, he will be
00:58:35all over you in the football field. I appreciate you, man.
00:58:37Patriots shut down corner. Back for another big four-minute
00:58:40drill with Big Mike. Mike Unwenu. Yeah. Got the fours
00:58:43fingers up. We're midway through the season. I just asked
00:58:45you, how you doing? You gave me the standard like, yeah. Yeah,
00:58:47we're good. We're fine. I'm solid. Good. We're gonna get
00:58:49you open up a little bit more here. Ready to start the clock?
00:58:51I was running. Okay, number one, you negotiated your own
00:58:54$57 million contract this offseason. What advice would
00:58:57you give to the rest of us who would love a $57 million on
00:59:00their own? Um you know, read into it. Uh look at the trends
00:59:04and pretty much that's all I did. Alright. The worst date
00:59:08you've ever been on. The worst day I've ever been on. Probably
00:59:11just her burping if I remember. She was just belching um
00:59:14obnoxiously throughout the night. Okay, where did you go?
00:59:17How quickly did you leave? Did you know on the spot this is
00:59:20the last one? Like, how loud were these these belches? It
00:59:23wasn't, it wasn't a crazy loud burp but you know, it's one of
00:59:25them burps that you smell and it was like, alright, after
00:59:28about two, it was like, you know, we finished dinner but
00:59:31after that, it was pretty much that was it. College or you're
00:59:33in the uh the pros? This was college. It was college. Yeah,
00:59:36yeah. Did you ever see her again? Uh yeah, on campus. Yeah.
00:59:38Okay. Yeah. Did you hear it first? No, I didn't hear it
00:59:41first. Alright, we'll move on. Uh your proudest moment as a
00:59:44patriot. Um probably really just getting drafted to be honest,
00:59:47um that day was really surreal. I was around my family so um I
00:59:51would say that and then like my first game um I remember we
00:59:54played the Dolphins and I was a jumbo tight end and I got a
00:59:57good block my first play of being in the NFL so that was
01:00:00pretty dope. Yeah, twenty-one eleven win, not bad. Yeah, it
01:00:03was. Very good. Alright, people don't understand blank about
01:00:06offensive line play.
01:00:09Probably, I mean, it's kinda hard to say cuz I would say,
01:00:14you know, if you're blocking good, they really don't care
01:00:17about you but when you're not blocking good, that's when they
01:00:19say something about you. So, um I would just say like our
01:00:23techniques of blocking. I would say that. That they don't
01:00:25understand that. Okay. Sometimes what we're trying to
01:00:27get at. You look like a love is blind guy. Do you watch that on
01:00:31Netflix? No, I don't. Okay, what guilty TV show or music do you
01:00:34have? Cuz there's gotta be one. Guilty. Yeah. Not like
01:00:37everything I watch. Okay. Um probably just the Food Network
01:00:40**** Really? Or what are you watching there? Really,
01:00:42everything on there. Uh guys diner. Um the triple Fs. I mean
01:00:48triple D. Uh diners, drive-ins, and dines. Um what else? That's
01:00:53pretty much it. Pretty much the Food Network or uh HGTV. Uh
01:00:57Halloween just passed. I would've asked you this
01:00:58beforehand. You scary movie guy? I on and off scary movie
01:01:02guy. It's not my first choice but I like scary movies. Yeah.
01:01:04You ever stop watching a scary movie cuz it was just too much
01:01:06in the middle. No, never done. Okay. Alright. Uh the teammate
01:01:10you would least like to date your sister? Um probably I
01:01:18don't know. We don't got a lot of bad guys but um I'm just
01:01:20throwing out there. Um probably probably KB. He's a married man
01:01:27so you're in luck but why KB? Uh he's a good guy but um I feel
01:01:31like back in the day he was just wild. It's funny. Everyone
01:01:34said a receiver so we are still perfect here. I would just say
01:01:36all receivers pretty much. I wouldn't let them date my
01:01:38daughter. Yeah. Alright. Uh you can block this person in life.
01:01:42It's a non-football person but you get a one-on-one square up
01:01:45block against them. Who are you picking and why? Uh my mama
01:01:48cuz I'm a blocker. Why do you wanna block your mom? You wanna
01:01:52pancake your mom? Why? I would. Um nah no reason but um if I
01:01:57had to block someone it could be anybody. Anybody. You just
01:02:00get to stand there and pancake their **** and we're gonna come
01:02:03back to mom. This is the most this is the most surprising
01:02:05answer we've ever had. I'm joking about that. I wanna
01:02:06pancake my mom. If it was my dad or my brother I probably
01:02:09would. I would pick my brother pretty much cuz he he played
01:02:11DTAC when in high school so uh as I got into football and I
01:02:14played more offense you know he he always say he would beat me
01:02:17so I don't think he would. Alright we got two more. You
01:02:20played for Jim Harbaugh. Yeah. You played for Bill Belichick.
01:02:22Give us a quick Harbaugh or Belichick story. Um I'll give
01:02:27you a Harbaugh story. Um I think I I don't know when this
01:02:30was but um really it was just like uh after one of these
01:02:33practices I think it was a Friday and he was just talking
01:02:36about competing in the game and uh we usually have like these
01:02:39uh our Friday night dinners or uh our meals before before the
01:02:43game. So we have like steak and milk and like not steak and
01:02:46milk together but I'm saying we have like steak, potatoes, corn,
01:02:50like all that like a cookout, a grill. Um pretty much uh uh I
01:02:54was just sitting next to him and uh he was sitting at the
01:02:56o-line table and uh we were all just chilling, hanging out and
01:02:59he was just busting open like bottles of milk. He probably
01:03:02drunk about two bottles of milk that and that sitting of uh
01:03:05eating a whole steak, some corn, and a potato and followed
01:03:08up with two uh cans of milk. So what you see is what you get.
01:03:11We've seen Jim Harbaugh with a lot of milk. He drinks a lot of
01:03:14milk. I would say so. Alright, last one. Least favorite media
01:03:17question. I don't know. I want to be honest. I mean, I'm an
01:03:20open book but I don't know. I don't know if you gotta, if you
01:03:23got a question for me but um what's your least favorite
01:03:27question that you like, you dislike to ask? Uh I don't ask
01:03:29this so that's why it's my least favorite but anything that
01:03:32starts with uh can you just talk about and then blank.
01:03:35That's not a question. It's just getting you to comment on
01:03:37a certain topic. That's being lazy as a reporter. Uh can you
01:03:40talk about how good this interview was? This was a
01:03:41dope interview. I'll do it again. Appreciate you. Mike, I
01:03:44want him for a big four-minute drill. Appreciate you both.
01:03:46Alright, another four-minute drill. Marcus Jones, I don't say
01:03:49this often but there are certain interviews even though
01:03:51you and I haven't chatted a whole lot that I look forward
01:03:53to a little bit more than the rest cuz we got a lot of
01:03:56anonymous questions for teammates here. So, I'm gonna
01:03:58start the clock. We go. We can't run out the clock. We try
01:04:00to get through as many questions as we can. You ready?
01:04:02Let's get it. Let's get it. Alright. Clock starts. Number
01:04:05one, if you could hit any teammate every single day in
01:04:08practice, who would that teammate be? Uh I love Mandre
01:04:11but I'll say Mandre. Okay. Number two, you're an artist,
01:04:15musical artist. Yeah. Give us your best bar. Lyric, you're
01:04:19proudest of the most in all your songs. In my song, that's
01:04:25a hard question right there. Oh my goodness. Uh it has to be my
01:04:30song. Yes. Um see you dancing in a crowded room. I'm just
01:04:36gonna say that cuz that's the first lyric of one of my songs
01:04:38to make it right. So, that's the one that I could think of
01:04:39right now. Alright. Best receiver you've ever faced. Uh
01:04:42Devontae Adams. Alright. I heard Marcus Jones hates to be
01:04:46wrong. In meetings, about plays, anything but you're a
01:04:49little quieter now when you object. How did you object as a
01:04:52rookie when you're pushing back and you knew you were wrong but
01:04:54you just didn't wanna admit it? Um it was just one of those
01:04:57situations to where uh you know, you learn to just get
01:05:00coached. It wasn't to where like I didn't like to be wrong.
01:05:03It was just like I wanna explain why I did it but
01:05:06sometimes you know, you don't even need to explain. So, you
01:05:09just need to go ahead and just take the coaching and just you
01:05:11know, be quiet. Yeah, that's not how all teammates remember
01:05:14it but we're we're you're on the pod level trusty here now.
01:05:17Uh your dad in your house, are you the good cop or the bad
01:05:19cop? Um I'm the bad cop. So, whenever I get to see him and
01:05:25everything. Uh usually, I'm the person saying no most of the
01:05:28time. So, yeah. Alright. Uh from an anonymous teammate,
01:05:31would you do a song? Would you collab with uh Kendrick Bourne?
01:05:34Oh, it can't be. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I would. I would. I
01:05:37would. It's in due time. So. Okay. What's your uh favorite
01:05:41play call? Favorite play call. Um. Give us the words how it's
01:05:45spit out. Could be offense, defense, special teams. Okay.
01:05:48Um I say defense. Uh most of the time say cover too. Uh I
01:05:52love whenever that call happens because most of the
01:05:55time we get to play the flat. So, that's less energy we have
01:05:58to use. So, you're looking to trap like a little quick out.
01:06:00You're looking for those. Anything you get your hands on?
01:06:01Whenever I can beat the quarterback. Yeah. Yeah.
01:06:03Alright. In the past, when Marcus Jones broke up with
01:06:06someone, how would he deliver the news? Oh, uh you can never
01:06:10do it over the phone. Okay. So, I'm not gonna say over the
01:06:13phone. Uh how would I do it? I would prefer over the phone but
01:06:19I can't do that. So, uh basically in person and just
01:06:22basically tell him, hey, uh this this isn't working out.
01:06:26It's not you as me. Something like that. So, something like
01:06:30that. So, a cliche but like at least you made the effort like
01:06:33neutral site. You go to a coffee shop or like some bar or
01:06:36restaurant. Yeah, it would have to be somewhere like that.
01:06:39Yeah. Okay. Alright. You texted AVP. We just learned like an
01:06:43hour ago. Uh 2 weeks ago saying, hey, like you can get
01:06:45me the ball. You know, I can play some offense a little late
01:06:48in the week cuz I was before the Chicago game. He looks up
01:06:50your plays from your rookie year and says, I'll get you in
01:06:52against the Rams. You go in on Zebra 25. Can you tell us to
01:06:56the best of your knowledge what you texted AVP? What was the
01:06:59pitch you made to play some offenses here? Um it was
01:07:02basically one of those situations to where I told him
01:07:04I was just like, hey, like, you know, I've played offense
01:07:06before. It wasn't like, get me the ball. It was just, it was
01:07:10more like, hey, I'm open to offense. You know what I mean?
01:07:12So, that ended up happening and then I ended up getting some
01:07:15offensive snaps. How long have you been thinking about that
01:07:17text? Um yeah, it hasn't been. I mean, I'll probably say since
01:07:23the off season of like, you know, you're a patient man.
01:07:27Yeah, I'm a patient guy. So, whenever it came down to it, I
01:07:29was just like, hey, I'm open to it. You know, if you're open to
01:07:32it. So, alright, we got 30 seconds left. Two more
01:07:34questions. Post apocalypse. Everyone's living in the wild,
01:07:37fighting for themselves. Who's the teammate least equipped to
01:07:40survive on their own? Oh, least equipped. I'm gonna say KB. Um
01:07:45He gets roasted on this show more than any person alive. I'm
01:07:48gonna definitely say KB just off the fact of like, I don't
01:07:51think he gonna know what to do at all. So. Alright, last one.
01:07:55Uh least favorite media question. Two and a half
01:07:56seasons in the NFL. You chat with us a fair amount. Least
01:07:59favorite media question. Um I would say it would have to be
01:08:04uh when you guys usually ask what happened on the play
01:08:09whenever someone scores or something like that and then you
01:08:11guys kinda already know what you wanna hear from our
01:08:13perspective. It's like, I mean, it's football. You know
01:08:16what I mean? People gonna score as good players on the other
01:08:18team and everything like that as well. So. Yeah. Uh sometimes
01:08:20you give us too much credit. We don't know. We need to ask you
01:08:22but other times, I'll tell you, you're right. Marcus Jones,
01:08:25four-minute drill. Appreciate you man. Oh yeah. For sure.
01:08:27Appreciate it.
