iPhone 8 se cade si rompe? È giunto il momento di scoprire che il vetro non è così resistente come dice Apple, e che a confronto il Note 8 è molto più forte.

00:00All right, so the good news is that both phones remain fully functional after that backdrop,
00:10but the bad news is both of them have their back glass shattered.
00:14The iPhone 8 Plus looks like it has more spiderwebbing overall on the back, but the Note 8's damage
00:19actually looks a lot more severe up at the top right of the phone, so really not the
00:24best results from either device.
00:26Round number two, corner drop.
00:41After that corner drop, both phones get some scuff marks on their aluminum bands.
00:45The damage really isn't actually all that bad, but it does look like the scuffs on the
00:49Note 8's are slightly deeper than the ones on the iPhone, giving the iPhone the slight
00:54advantage in round number two.
00:56Round number three, face drop.
01:10Okay so while the face drop cracks the glass on both phones, it's actually not as bad
01:15as I thought it would be, especially on the Galaxy Note 8, where most of its damage is
01:19contained to the corners.
01:21This is most likely thanks to the curved edges on the phone, and it's a great result because
01:26most of the actual touch screen remains unaffected, meaning you could probably use it without
01:31cutting yourself, at least not as bad as you would on the iPhone, where a good chunk of
01:35the top right of the display has some spiderwebbing, so easy win for the Note 8 in round number
01:39three.
01:41Bonus round.
01:42Okay so with both phones still being technically usable, we enter the bonus round, where we
01:46drop each phone directly onto steel from much higher up, which should put the shock and
01:51impact resistance of each phone to the test.
01:54Up first is the Galaxy Note 8.
02:24Well, we got some serious shattering going all the way across.
02:27And drop.
02:29Okay, I think this one actually killed it, because when it hit the platform, like, I saw
02:36light kind of disperse around.
02:39Nope!
02:40Still working.
02:41Alright, last drop, can it survive all ten?
02:44Three, two, one.
02:48And...
02:51Oops, I turned it off, but...
02:53It's working!
02:54Alright, survived all ten drops.
02:56Alright, so the Note 8 technically survives all ten drops, the screen is still responsive
03:02and still fully functional, however, this is definitely not something that you'd want
03:06to use on a daily basis.
03:07The glass on the back of the phone suffered arguably more damage than the glass on the
03:11front, with all the impact from the high-level drops spreading that pre-existing damage.
03:16In terms of functionality, after doing our ten-point inspection, everything on the Note
03:208 still works, save for the camera in the flash, which no matter how many times we
03:25tried to open it or restart it, it just wouldn't work.
03:28So, disappointing results, and let's see if the iPhone 8 Plus can do any better.
03:33Three, two, one.
03:38Perfect drop.
03:40What's the result?
03:42Ah, still working.
03:44Three, two, one.
03:47Oh my gosh!
03:51Oh my god!
03:56Ok, alright, so literally a chunk, a chunk of glass fell out.
04:02This is crazy, I've never seen that before.
04:05Wow!
04:07Super shattered screen, but it's still working.
04:10Oh my god, this is brutal.
04:11Go ahead.
04:14Three, two, one.
04:16Ok, glass almost hit me, hit my face.
04:19That is crazy.
04:20This is getting dangerous.
04:22Oh, no!
04:25No!
04:28Ah!
04:30It's, I think it's dead.
04:31This is dead.
04:32I don't care if it responds.
04:33Nah, it's not even responding.
04:35Alright.
04:36I mean, it kind of responds, but then it like freaks out, so I'm gonna have to throw in
04:42the towel, guys.
04:43This one's done.
04:44So, unfortunately, the iPhone 8 Plus doesn't make it all the way through the bonus round
04:48like the Note 8 did, with it literally falling apart with chunks missing from the back.
04:53And the screen is completely unusable at this point, with a major portion of the LCD being
04:58blacked out.
04:59Now, I've seen this happen on phones before, and typically, once it gets to this point,
05:03it's only a matter of time before the damage spreads all the way through the phone and
05:07it completely gives out.
05:08And, as if that wasn't bad enough, just like with the Note 8, the camera on the iPhone
05:13Plus doesn't work.
05:14But, to its credit, it at least launches the camera app, where the Note 8 didn't even
05:19let us do that.
05:21Okay, so with all the rounds complete, let's take a look at the scorecard, where in the
05:25first round, the iPhone just barely squeaks past the Note 8.
05:28It also got the upper hand in the second round, but in the third round, the Note 8 made a
05:33comeback in a major way and finished off the iPhone in the fourth, making it the winner
05:38here in this drop test.
05:40Anyways, that is it for me in this video.
05:42Thank you guys for watching, and as always, I'll see you in the very next episode.
