00:00What are the effects of the geopolitical and economic challenges of the last ten years on the economies of the G7 countries?
00:11What measures should be adopted to face them effectively?
00:14There is no doubt that the G7 countries are under some very important challenges.
00:19First of all, geopolitics, tensions in the Middle East, the crisis and the war in Ukraine
00:25certainly determine a greater indebtedness, a negative impact on inflation
00:31and, on the other hand, make less stable those that are, without a shadow of a doubt, the supply chains.
00:37In light of all this, actions are necessary to regain competitiveness and, at the same time, to ensure a more sustainable growth.
00:45Let us bear in mind that the G7 countries in recent years estimate a GDP growth that is lower than that of the G20 countries.
00:54And let us also bear in mind that the North American countries within the G7 have a positive gap in productivity
01:01compared to the rest of the G7 countries, which is significant, going from 18% to 35% in the last 20 years.
01:08Therefore, the need to find greater competitiveness and to have greater collaboration with developing countries,
01:16which is fundamental for the growth of the G7, is among the key actions that are being discussed today.
01:21And how can we help developing countries?
01:24What are the actions that allow developing countries to be part of global growth?
01:29First of all, to use digital and environmental transitions as accelerators for the recovery of gaps and distance
01:38of developing countries from overall growth.
01:43It is one of the key actions that can allow developing countries to be part of global growth.
01:57Second, to be sure that food security is one of the priorities,
02:02because finding ways to develop food, agriculture, to make everything sustainable and to provide for people's needs, is the second key action.
02:10Lastly, health systems that ensure the health and social growth of the population,
02:18in particular of the African population, which represents 70%, is another necessary action.
02:23If food security, the evolution of health systems, is linked to digital and environmental transitions,
02:29developing countries not only have an opportunity for growth and socio-economic recovery,
02:36but they can be a steering wheel that stabilizes the supply chains of G7 countries,
02:41thus ensuring global competitiveness and sustainable growth.
