00:00I'm also actually watching a movie right now.
00:04These are TCL's new glasses.
00:06And they're also screens.
00:08Here, have a look.
00:11Good day, you beautiful people.
00:22Welcome to Isa Das Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:26Today's video is a very exciting one.
00:28They're here and they're in my hands, the TCL Nexwear G.
00:32These are very interesting because they're smart glasses, but not how we usually see
00:37smart glasses.
00:38The TCL Nexwear G is a wearable that you can plug into devices so that you can watch stuff
00:44in a whole theater experience.
00:46Well, sort of.
00:49These are aimed at media consumption or, well, looking at stuff.
00:52Basically, with this thing, TCL says, we're all just looking at and watching stuff on
00:57our tech, so let's make the experience better.
00:59Before we move on, a big thanks to TCL for sending over these glasses and collaborating
01:03with me on this video so that you guys get to see, and well, I get to see, these glasses
01:09so soon after they were just announced on stage at MWC.
01:13Right, without further ado, let's unbox.
01:17This is going to be one interesting unboxing.
01:20We have what looks like the outline of those glasses in front here, TCL branding at the
01:25bottom.
01:26Ah, display greatness.
01:30This is a pretty interesting sort of tube right here.
01:34There's the subtle TCL branding up front.
01:36This is actually a really nice carry case.
01:40Ooh, ooh, there's also a compartment up here.
01:48We have a nice cleaning cloth.
01:50These are, I'm assuming, nose things, so yeah, whatever nose size you have, you're
01:56good to go.
01:57Okay, this is pretty cool.
02:00Basically, that tiny note says that lenses require a doctor's prescription.
02:05So I'm assuming that you can put your prescription on here if you wear glasses.
02:11Right, this is a pretty cool, almost secret compartment.
02:15Let's do the actual glasses.
02:18Here we go.
02:19Just like we saw on the front of the box, there is a USB-C core that runs from the leg
02:25of one of the glasses arms.
02:27Nose pad action right there, TCL branding here, and basically, guys and gals, this is
02:33what it looks like when you wear it.
02:37Wearing these glasses for the first time is an adventure.
02:40I don't know what I expected, but I did not expect it to look this good.
02:45Glasses are crisp and bright, and when you're using these, you don't actually feel like
02:49you're peeping through a hole that just happens to be on sunglasses, which it technically
02:53is, right?
02:54You honestly feel like you're there, experiencing what you're watching, sort of like in a movie
02:59house or something.
03:01There are also stereo speakers on the glasses, so you can literally put them on, and it's
03:06a whole viewing experience in itself.
03:10Can you hear that?
03:14It's actually pretty loud.
03:16I was so awkwardly holding out my finger in that last clip, because there is a sensor
03:20on here, and the screen does turn off when you're not wearing the glasses.
03:24To get this thing to work, all you need to do is plug and play.
03:27I've been using it with a TCL 20 Pro 5G, which I will have a video on soon.
03:32And when plugged in, there is a PC mode that turns your phone into a full touchscreen so
03:37that you can control whatever you're seeing on the glasses.
03:41From here, you can go through the apps on your phone, send messages, or even watch YouTube.
03:46The other mode that you can do with the glasses is a mirror mode, which basically gives you
03:51the same phone screen, but I personally love the PC mode, and I feel like it's such an
03:55intuitive way of using this, you seeing everything via the glasses and using the phone just as
04:02your trackpad.
04:03And yes, this thing should work with other non-TCL devices.
04:06There is actually a list of phones that it's compatible with, and it even works with my
04:10MacBook Pro.
04:11Also, no need for charging or batteries, the device you plug it into will power the glasses.
04:17And when everything is said and done, they pack up in the little case, and you're good
04:21to go.
04:36From the front view, you just look like you're wearing very unique shades.
04:47And from the side view, you just look like you're wearing chunky shades when you have
04:51these glasses on.
04:52Of course, these are heavier than your actual reading glasses, but they actually sit quite
04:56comfortably on your face, and when you're wearing them, you're not completely blind
05:01because you can actually see from the sides or from below.
05:05Which means, unlike closed VR headsets, these are designed to be worn while you're out and
05:10about because it doesn't shut you off from the world when you're wearing them.
05:14These glasses are designed so that they're fuss-free, they're not so attention-grabbing
05:19so you can wear them in public, and you still have your peripheral vision so you're not
05:24completely unaware of what's happening out in the world.
05:28So I did try it out, and first up, I did a briefing slash presentation that I had to
05:33sit into, and of course, I used Buds because I didn't want other people listening in, nor
05:38do I want other people seeing what I'm looking at.
05:41So this is actually perfect, and I can imagine doing this in like a coffee shop or something.
05:46While I was at it, I shot a few emails too.
05:49And yes, I'm in my pajamas a lot when I do these meetings, so don't judge me.
05:54I tried it on games, and it is pretty immersive, although of course, the controls still are
05:59on your phone.
06:00Now, I still won.
06:02I tried to level up the experience by picking tilt-steering, but what?
06:08This is hard.
06:10I suck at that, and it's really hard.
06:12Ah!
06:13So I moved on to more relaxing things, and games like Adorable Home make for a great
06:20experience with these glasses because it just really feels like you're in the game more.
06:25TCL's MWC announcement showed us this lady living her best life.
06:30She was wearing the Nexwear G, and she was chilling with a face mask watching her shows.
06:37Of course, I'm going to try that.
06:39Face mask.
06:41Netflix on my phone.
06:43Plug this in.
06:44Ah!
06:45This actually works.
06:48Mmm.
06:49I'm not getting so much stuff on the glasses because only the nose pads are on my face.
06:56There is no 15 wrong.
06:57Classic mind.
06:58Maybe one more sign.
06:59I don't have an ass.
07:00I lean quickly.
07:02Also, this is totally cool because I don't have a TV in my room, and when I watch on
07:07my phone at night, I totally get stiff neck because of the weird, awkward positions.
07:13With these glasses, you good.
07:15So you don't need a breakfast letter?
07:17No, I don't.
07:19Yeah.
07:20Oh my gosh.
07:21This works.
07:22This really works.
07:23It's relaxing.
07:24It's a great viewing experience, and also Season 5 of GIMP's Convenience is out, so
07:29I'mma go and keep watching now.
07:37I'm very impressed with the quality of this screen, and use cases that these glasses seem
07:42made for are use cases that I personally have.
07:45Like, I can't wait to take this thing on a plane ride.
07:48I honestly like where TCL is bringing the wearable game, and TCL kept saying display
07:53greatness, but in this instance, they made us wear it.
07:57That's it for today's video, guys.
