00:13We are talking about the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2.
00:17And if you remember, I already have a quick vid on this but that wasn't the retail version
00:22and I have the actual retail version and the actual box now.
00:26So in this vid, we are unboxing this phone but I'm also gonna be talking about my experience
00:31with this device.
00:32I will warn you now, if you're looking for a gaming review, this isn't it.
00:36I mean, I have no doubt that this thing will perform when it comes to gaming and you can
00:41watch gaming reviews already out on this.
00:44But like how I've tested out other gaming phones, I wanna see what this phone can offer
00:49other than those gaming specs.

01:45This is my Legion Duel 2 non-gamer gaming phone review.
01:50Let's start with an unboxing.
01:53We finally have the sealed official retail version of the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2.
02:01Some details up here.
02:02It says that we have the ultimate black version.
02:05Ooh, a black one.
02:06So we did the white one in the previous video.
02:10I'll link up here and down below.
02:12But this is a black one and we have the 12GB 256GB version.
02:21Look at that.
02:25Wait, I did not notice this was on here, on this side.
02:30Ooh, what a nice presentation.
02:34Do you see?
02:37Of course, we have the phone here but we'll look at that a little bit later on.
02:41Ooh, Savage inside.
02:43What do we get in this box?
02:46That is a power brick, dual cord.
02:49On the other side.
03:10Right.
03:12Ah, it looks good.
03:14So on the packaging itself, it tells you that there's a wire trigger here, another one here.
03:18Turbo fan is up here.
03:20Another one here at the bottom.
03:22And then you have one up here and down here.
03:26And that is happening on both sides.
03:28And finally, the front facing cam which is also the power button.

03:32Moment of truth.
03:34Wow, wowee.
03:35Okay, I thought that I really like the white version of this but this black one is just all kinds of classy.
03:44Look at that.
03:49Wow, okay.
03:50You guys know I'm not the biggest fan of just black phones.
03:53But I guess for this phone because there's so many things happening on the back.
03:59I love how discreet it all looks.
04:02So again, this phone gives you those two cameras at the back.
04:05RGB lighting, fan number one, fan number two.
04:09We've also gone through all the triggers.
04:11At the bottom, you have USB-C 1.
04:14Ah, that sim tool just looks good.
04:17There's a dual sim situation.
04:19On the other side is the second USB port.
04:23Volume rockers beside that.
04:25And yeah, let's power it on.
04:28So, I'm not even gonna do a montage because there is so much to talk about.

04:38And let's start off with look and feel.
04:40Now, you guys know that I'd rather white over black when it comes to smartphones.
04:45The black on this just hits different.
04:47It feels like it's more graceful.
04:49It's classier.
04:50Maybe because it's designed like a gaming phone and the black just makes it more discreet.
04:55There's this nice subtle blue line that runs across the phone.
04:58And I just love that detail.
05:00And I feel like the black really, really matches the RGB effect.
05:03I mean, because I like RGB no matter where it is, what color phone it's on.
05:08And I just really feel like it's cool.
05:10Now, this is definitely a big phone.
05:12And that fact with my teeny hands does not go unnoticed.
05:16There is no way this fits my jean pockets or my tiny purses.
05:21But you know what they say about people with big phones.
05:24They get big screens.
05:26And that, we have in this.
05:28Coupled with those Dolby Atmos speakers.
05:31Good day, you beautiful people.
05:41It's an awesome watching experience on this thing.
05:44As long as you don't drop it on your face because like I said, it's a big phone.
05:48And like I mentioned in the previous vid, this thing has two charging cords.
05:53Which also mean faster charging speeds.
05:55But most importantly, being able to charge this way while you're watching your videos.
06:00And yes, the 5000mAh battery on this does perform.
06:04This thing has lasted me two days with one charge on average.
06:08So, aside from the cool RGBs, this thing has fans.
06:12That have RGBs.
06:16This is pretty cool for gaming, but you can also make it start automatically
06:20whenever the phone starts heating up.
06:22Now, I will say, and I've experienced this first hand,
06:25that when you live in a hotter climate in a tropical country,
06:28all the phones, almost all the phones run hotter.
06:31Again, tropical.
06:33This feature is especially useful for that specific purpose.
06:37You can run around and I don't know, take photos, take videos,
06:40play your games, watch shows outdoors.
06:43And you know that this thing can self-cool.
06:47Now, obviously with the specs on this thing, there was barely anything I had trouble with
06:52in terms of my everyday apps and multitasking.
06:54Aside from that, another noteworthy thing is that the haptics on this,
06:58they're really good.
06:59And of course, the ultimate test would be to game on this.
07:02And I've told you guys though, I'm no gamer.
07:04But anything and everything I've played on this thing,
07:07it's been able to handle great.
07:09Okay, so the whole selling point of this phone to me
07:12is not just that it's a gaming phone.
07:15It's that it has a capable selfie pop-up on this
07:19that's specifically designed so that you can game
07:22and then stream yourself gaming.
07:25Powerful selfie cameras are not usually something
07:28that one would think you'd find on a powerful gaming phone
07:32and yet, I am all here for it.
07:35Also because selfies on this, they look pretty good.
07:41Even the selfie cutouts look good.
07:43Now, I will admit that taking selfies on this
07:46when you're using it like a normal phone, meaning upright this way,
07:50does need a little bit of getting used to.
07:52One too many times, I've tried to do a selfie
07:55and it hit where my hand is holding the phone.
07:58Though in spite and despite all that,
08:00there were no issues with the pop-up mechanism.
08:02Now, I usually do full-on camera vids and vlog tests,
08:06but real quickly, for purposes of this video,
08:08I'm gonna go through some of the stuff
08:10with this phone's cameras that I noticed or that I like.
08:13I can't really do a complete camera vlog test
08:16because then we'd be talking for a while
08:18and this is like one video of sort of an overview.
08:21The cameras on here generally impress.
08:23It took good photos.
08:25And even in weird lighting situations,
08:27like for example, a restaurant's dim lighting,
08:31it took really good pics.
08:34There is a wide on here
08:36and I like wide-angled cameras on my phones,
08:39but like other phones,
08:41it's really the main shooter that shines.
08:44All in all, and as you can see,
08:46these are pretty capable cameras for photo taking.
08:50Now, on to the videos.
08:52Front-facing camera can do up until 4K
08:54and this is 60fps.
08:564K, 30fps this time.
08:581080p at 60fps.
09:00Now, 1080p at 30fps.
09:02Now, I know I'm gonna export this video
09:05and I'm not gonna be exporting it in 4K,
09:07but I just wanna show you how the camera treats
09:09at different resolutions.
09:11And this thing allows you to switch out the mics you're using
09:14so I am switched to the front-facing mic.
09:17If you can hear a difference,
09:19the rear mics are now being used.
09:21And finally, these are stereo mics.
09:24Video on the rear cameras are crazy.
09:26I am shooting in 8K, 24fps right now.
09:30Now, these are pretty powerful cameras
09:32and they generally perform.
09:34I'm not saying that these are the best cameras
09:36on a smartphone out there,
09:38but they definitely exceeded my expectations.
09:40The fact that all of this is on a gaming phone
09:43makes it all the more impressive to me.
09:45To add to my comments about
09:47getting used to the placement of the pop-up camera,
09:50the placement of the rear cameras
09:52also need a little bit of getting used to.
09:54I have small hands so I tend to grasp the phone all around
09:57and that also means sometimes
09:59grasping it where the cameras are.
10:01So when I try to take photos,
10:03my fingers are always in the way.
10:05Nothing that moving my fingers won't fix,
10:07but like I said, it needs getting used to.
10:11So definitely the gaming on this phone
10:13is a whole conversation all together
10:15but with 144Hz refresh rate,
10:17octa gaming triggers which is fun
10:19but definitely needs getting used to
10:21by a noob like me,
10:23Dolby Atmos,
10:27dual USB-C,
10:29dual fan cooling system,
10:31that's a lot to address the gaming needs.

10:37But here is the clincher.
10:39Surprisingly, this is a pretty good phone
10:41other than for gaming.
10:43Specifically, I think that this is the only phone
10:45in the market right now
10:47that specifically caters to gaming content creators.
10:50And that is a big deal.
10:52It's a very neat gaming phone
10:54but also in general,
10:56a very well-rounded device.
10:58So yeah, definitely for bigger handed gamers out there,
11:02you might want to try this phone out for size.
11:05If you are a gaming content creator
11:07and you're looking for a machine
11:09that will address your needs,
11:11again, this phone.
11:12Or if you just want a really, really powerful device
11:16that will deliver not just for gaming
11:18but also for casual photo taking
11:21or all around media consumption.
11:23Some would say overkill but I say
11:25you do you and get whatever phone you like
11:28that fits your needs.
