00:00In this video, we're going to be talking about a quick tech setup that will work great for online calls
00:05or online meetings because, let's be honest, no one's going out.
00:10We're all going to be at home working so let's get to it.
00:15🎶 Music 🎶
00:21Good day, you beautiful people. Welcome to Ysera's Tech where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:27On today's vid, like I said, I'm going to be helping you with your pandemic home office setup
00:32that will level up your meetings and since we're on the topic of home offices, the first thing I
00:37want to show you is this Brother printer which has been a staple in our house.
00:42This is the Brother DCP-T420W which is a great home printer and they happened to sponsor this video.
00:50This thing has a refillable ink system which is a cost-effective solution to printing.
00:55This is also a scanner. Most importantly, it can do wireless printing which is honestly the way to go.
01:01What's great about this is for androids and PCs, it's literally plug and play.
01:05No need to install anything or add a driver, just print.
01:09For Apple products, you're gonna need just this app and you're good to go.
01:14This thing prints black and white and colored and to test that all out, I decided to
01:181. take a photo of my dog and 2. print it out the size of a bond paper which is more than life-size.
01:26I mean, I don't think Chu was thrilled at the idea of an even bigger than life-size photo of her but
01:33it's good.
01:34I'm gonna put all the further details down in the description box below including where you can buy this printer
01:40but also I'm giving away one of these things to a lucky person.
01:44I'll put the mechanics also in the description box. Good luck.
01:48Right, on to more work from home tech.
01:51Now, take note that this is a basic setup for work from home calls or conferences on Zoom
01:58but this is also a setup that will work for streaming.
02:01This is actually the same setup I use when I do Facebook live or even podcasting
02:06because this is how I do our podcasts and if you want to shoot some sit-down videos
02:11or music covers for YouTube, this will also work.
02:15So first off, you'll need better visuals for your Zoom calls.
02:19Now, I did a whole tips and tricks video on this topic so you can check that up here and down below
02:24but the camera that I personally use now would be the Logitech C922.
02:30When I first got this, I was pretty hesitant because I was like,
02:33webcams? Those from my memory back in the 90s? Those suck.
02:39But lo and behold, webcams are actually good now.
02:42This is a webcam sample.
02:45This tiny thing will directly clip to your laptop.
02:48I've clipped it to my desk here but we'll talk about that later.
02:52Plug the USB to your computer and it works just like that.
02:56So having a webcam automatically levels up your visuals and they're so easy to use.
03:01I cannot be bothered to set one up every time I go on a call or every time I shoot a podcast
03:07so I love the fact that this webcam, it's pretty much plug and play.
03:11But if you want to level it up a bit, you can download the Logitech G Hub
03:16and it'll allow you to switch around the settings.
03:18From here, you can change the default zooming in or out,
03:23change around the focus, exposure.
03:25You can even set up video filters with specific settings
03:29so that when you need one or the other, you already have these preset settings saved.
03:34This particular webcam also has a mic but I don't use that because I use the Razer Siren 2
03:41which is the next thing on this list.
03:43Aside from being pretty and being such a big talk point to anyone I've ever been on calls with,
03:50this is a pretty capable mic and quality is great.
03:54It comes with a mic stand though, again, I've chosen not to use it for my setup
03:58because I like to keep my table free for, you know, me working on it.
04:03Basically, you plug this mic into your computer with that USB
04:08and yes, that's a pink cord that comes with it.
04:11There is a mute button up here and there's also an audio port for earphones
04:17for when you want to monitor your audio.
04:20Now, the next thing on this list are the stuff that I use to mount my mic on and my camera on.
04:26So this mic stand that clamps to the table is pretty useful
04:29because I get to move it depending on how I want to sit or talk.
04:34Like, I could be on a call and leaning in like this
04:38or I could be more relaxed and leaning back like this
04:43and I'll be able to adjust.
04:44I also love that it came with a pop filter so I never had to worry about that.
04:49Again, this thing is directly clamped to the back of my workspace so my desk is kept free.
04:57Again, I like my desk space.
04:59And also, one big audio tip that I got from Joshua is that
05:03this position here in front of where I'm speaking directly
05:06will sound way better than if it were on the table.
05:10As you may have noticed, I've decorated this with leaves to truly bolster my crazy plant lady.
05:18The thing is, you can actually see this in the video and I just didn't like how it looked.
05:23All black and industrial and it wasn't for me.
05:27I've been thinking of switching it out to a white one but I wasn't necessarily sold.
05:32I've been looking for a pink one and I cannot find one anywhere
05:36so in the meantime, I just decorated and I think it looks good.
05:41I have the same clamping thing for my webcam.
05:45Again, disconnected to the back of my desk in not the most orderly fashion
05:51but you get what I mean.
05:52This one is smaller and less bulky because I anticipated
05:56that I wouldn't be moving this camera around too much.
05:59Has a good length and that stem is actually bendy so I can still adjust it.
06:05And there are certain adjustments on this head as well.
06:08Plus, my webcam does come with a screw that allows you to mount on a tripod.
06:14Finally, the last thing in this call setup video that makes all the difference
06:19and I kid you not, this applies in everything that you do with a video.
06:26Lighting.
06:28You see the difference?
06:30Yeah.
06:31I actually have a separate video that talks about that.
06:35The one that I mentioned earlier.
06:37But yes, good lighting is key and this comes with a table clamp as well.
06:42I can also adjust it however I want.
06:45This is a ball and socket.
06:47You plug it in using a USB and you can actually change the temperature.
06:55This is warm, cool, and a combination.
06:58I use this.
06:59Plus, you can make it brighter
07:04or dimmer.
07:06Of course, you won't really see how brighter than that gets
07:09because my camera is set to auto adjust but you get the idea.
07:13Now, just a few other things to add to this whole setup.
07:17Everything on the back, you can't just use any normal desk.
07:22As you can see, mine has a drawer on one side but the other side is completely open.
07:28I still use this space for storage as you can see.
07:33This also means that the back is open which allows me to clamp stuff on here.
07:39Now, it's not the cleanest look at from this side.
07:43I'm working on that but it works.
07:45My desk is mostly always clear and free and I love that.
07:50I sit here whenever I'm on podcasts or on calls
07:53and enjoy all the space I allow myself on my desk.
07:57On my beautiful free desk.
07:59Now, one other thing is that I work on a 13-inch MacBook Pro
08:04which means I live the dongle life.
08:06But as you've learned in this video, I am waging a war against cluttered wires.
08:12So, the solution is this and everything that's connected to my laptop is connected via this wire.
08:20What I have here is a U-green connector that is connected to the Minix dongle.
08:28So, as you can see, it's pretty compact.
08:31There's an HDMI port over there.
08:33There is a USB-C port which is where the power is plugged into.
08:38And two USB ports.
08:40Now, what's so great about this tiny thing is that there's storage in it.
08:44240GB of storage in this dongle.
08:49Pretty cool.
08:50It just helps me make everything look clean, neat, and nice.
08:55And that, folks, is all you need for a basic work from home space.
08:59And like I said, this is my personal setup.
09:02So, everything that I just showed you is what I use to create my content.
09:06And since I work here and live here,
09:09I figured I might as well add something else that might just spruce up this area.
09:15I've decided to be extra and I'm sure some of you may have noticed this in the background.
09:20This is also something I turn on every time I'm on call.
09:24Turn the background light off.
09:29There you go.
09:29Technically, even the main light I use in this room is smart.
09:34Turn bedroom light off.
09:40Yeah.
09:40So, that and the light behind my mirror over there are bulbs from Global Gears.
09:47It's really cool.
09:48All you really need to do is put them in the socket and download an app
09:52so that you could control it via an app or do as I did and connect it to voice control.
09:59Right.
09:59That's it for today's video.
10:01I hope you guys enjoyed watching this and I hope you sort of got something from all of this.
10:06I will link everything down in the description box as well
10:10so you know where to get the stuff I actually got.
10:13Let me know if videos like this is something you enjoy and you'd like to see more of.
10:17I'mma go now and shoot some other things.
10:20But if you want to see how I use my tech on a daily basis,
10:23find me online.
10:24That's at isa.does underscore on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
10:28Don't forget the giveaway, you guys.
10:29Good luck.
10:30Until next time.
10:31Bye.
