00:00This might just be your best TikTok accessory.
00:04It's a teeny little mic that will work with your phone wirelessly.
00:08It will also work with your cameras and your laptop.
00:19Good day, you beautiful people.
00:21Welcome to Issa Does Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:25In this video, we're going to be talking about the BOYA BY-WM3D.
00:29That's a mouthful.
00:30Basically, this tiny thing and this mic might just be the best audio solution
00:34for people who shoot stuff on their phones or on their cameras.
00:38And also, so you can experience this mic in all its glory,
00:42the audio in this video is being recorded on this very mic.
00:46As you can see, there's something connected to my Fuji X-S10,
00:49which is what I shoot my videos on.
00:51And well, I'm holding the mic right here.
00:55The BOYA BY-WM3D comes in this handy-dandy case.
00:59I like that because I have one too many times struggled with packing
01:03and lost so many tiny things, so this is actually a good idea.
01:07This is also a charging case, and there's a USB-C port at the back,
01:11indicator lights here, and a button to open it.
01:15So, this thing is all plastic.
01:18I like that there are slots for every single part.
01:22Like, even the microphone you use on a mic to minimize noise on your audio
01:27from when you brush against things, or if it's windy, by the way, has a spot.
01:31The two main parts, the mic and the receiver, have pins behind it
01:35because this case is also the charging port.
01:39According to BOYA, one time full charging means 4.5 hours on the transmitter
01:44and 8 hours on the receiver.
01:46There are basically six different things in here.
01:49The transmitter, the thing you plug into the phone or the camera or the laptop,
01:53more on this later.
01:55And as you can see here, there's that contact for the charging case.
01:59There's a power button and where you slide the plug things.
02:02There's the mic.
02:03It's cute with the windshield because it just looks like a teeny-tiny little mic,
02:08but you can still clip it on your top.
02:09There's also a power button here.
02:11Then we have a lightning pin for your iPhone, of course,
02:14but there's a version of this with a USB-C pin thing for Android phones.
02:19And then there are two audio jacks, one for most cameras and one for most phones.
02:24There's a pairing button on the case
02:26and you need to pair the mic to the transmitter the first time you use it.
02:30But then after that, you're ready to roll every time.
02:33All you need to do is find the corresponding pin, slide it onto the transmitter,
02:37power on both the transmitter and the phone, and you good.
02:42Like I said, the use cases are endless.
02:44This is how the mic sounds plugged into an iPhone.
02:47It's pretty much plug and play.
02:49I love how this lets me shoot from afar and still sound good
02:54because wireless mic is pretty cool.
02:58One caveat, though, would be that with this mic plugged into the phone,
03:01the phone recognizes it as a headset so you can record and it will record your audio.
03:07But when you play it back, you won't hear anything.
03:10Bottom line, you won't be able to hear the audio unless you unplug.
03:13It works for cameras, as mentioned.
03:15Like I said, I am using it for this very video now.
03:18I actually tried it out in other videos like my Realme TV video.
03:22It's pretty cool, though. People seem to like how this looks like a tiny mic.
03:25I did get questions about what this is and where I got it when I posted photos wearing it.
03:30So yeah, any camera with an audio port should work with this mic.
03:34Now, there are two audio jacks here and the other one should work for other phones
03:38provided that they have an audio jack.
03:41So again, all you really need to do is plug into the audio jack.
03:44Now, depending on where the jack is, this placement might be a little awkward, but it works.
03:50And this is a sample of how this would all sound like shot on the Poco X3 Pro and the Boya mic.
03:58And finally, another cool use case for your laptops.
04:01Simply plug it in and then you're ready for those Zoom calls.
04:05Basically, the easiest way to level up your audio game
04:09and now you won't need to be tethered to your desk where your mic usually is.
04:14And since this is a very compact thing, this means that when you do decide to travel with your laptop,
04:20all you really need to pack with this laptop is this mic
04:23and you'll be ready to take calls anytime, anywhere.
04:28All in all, I think that the Boya BY-WM3D, if we can get past that name, I can never remember,
04:34can be a pretty useful device, especially for people like me who like shooting on the go
04:38but don't like carrying so much gear with me.
04:41It's such a simple and easy solution to better audio.
04:43Even those just starting out with content will be able to use it because of just how easy it is
04:49while at the same time enjoy the flexibility of switching around shooting with different devices.
04:53That being said though, if you're not looking for something easy and flexible
04:58and you're just looking for, hands down, the best sounding mic without compromise,
05:03this tiny thing might not be the mic for you.
05:06Nevertheless, I enjoy using that thing.
05:08Even for non-creators though, I see this as a very useful tool,
05:12especially for those who do a lot of Zoom calls, which is all of us these days.
05:17And that wraps up our video for today, guys.
05:19Let me know what you guys think about this tiny Boya mic.
