00:00Hi there. A day of significant contrasts across the UK. Sunny skies towards the north-west
00:06but more rain to come in the east. And that rain, well, we've seen spiralling bands of
00:11rain since the weekend. This is the radar sequence since Sunday. Heavy rain moving in
00:16and then stalling on Monday across northern parts of England, north Wales, Northern Ireland
00:20and now we've got this system pushing further heavy and at times persistent wet weather
00:26into parts of eastern England. The main focus for the rest of Tuesday, east Midlands, parts
00:31of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, rain warning in force, 20mm widely, 40mm in some places,
00:38wouldn't normally see impacts from that kind of rainfall but of course coming on top of
00:42the saturated ground could cause some issues by the end of the day. We're also going to
00:48see this cold wind blowing from the North Sea, 12 or 13 Celsius in the east of England
00:53with thick cloud and outbreaks of rain feeling miserable. Brighter skies for west Wales,
00:57south-west England a few showers, one or two showers for north-east Scotland through the
01:00day as well. Plenty of sunshine and clear skies then overnight for Scotland and Northern
01:04Ireland under those clear skies and with lighter winds temperatures will fall away with even
01:10the low single figures possible in some sheltered spots but lots of cloud remaining for England
01:15and Wales. Those outbreaks of rain easing but turning more showery as the night goes
01:19on across east Anglia, east Midlands and then one or two showers coming further west
01:24into east Wales as we begin Wednesday. So again a cloudy start to the day for much of
01:30England and Wales, fairly frequent showers moving into the Wash for example, parts of
01:35east Anglia, one or two into London and the south-east as well as east Wales and the south-west
01:40but the further west you are the drier and brighter it will be. And for northern England
01:44for much of Scotland and Northern Ireland it's sunny spells and light winds as higher
01:49pressure builds from the north feeling pleasant especially in western Scotland with highs
01:53of 16 or 17 Celsius, not so pleasant in the south-east and east where that wind from the
01:59North Sea continues to blow fairly frequent showers in as we end the day but as you can
02:04see the drier and clearer weather is progressing its way southwards so that by Thursday much
02:11of the UK is fine with sunny spells and Friday starts off on the same note as well before
02:18the next low moves in for the weekend.
