00:00Hello, very good evening to you. Many of us will have a spell of wet and windy weather
00:04for a time on Tuesday before some heavy persistent rain on Wednesday. However, at the moment
00:10we are under the influence of high pressure just to the south of the UK, which has quietened
00:14our weather down, taking us into a largely settled night. There is a front pushing its
00:19way eastwards across parts of Scotland, bringing some clouds, some rain and some stronger winds
00:23for a time this evening. But then for many through the night a largely dry picture, perhaps
00:28some increasing cloud from the west may bring some outbreaks of drizzly rain here. Further
00:33east though, yes there will be some high level cloud around, but perhaps some clearer skies
00:37and as a result it may turn a little bit fresher than it has done through some recent nights.
00:42Temperatures in the east could drop into low single figures, though I am expecting it to
00:46stay above freezing. As we go through Tuesday morning, a fairly wet picture across parts
00:51of Scotland and Northern Ireland as this front makes its way south-eastwards. As we go into
00:56the afternoon, that front is going to push into parts of England and Wales, so turning
01:00wet here. All the time though across the south-east of the UK it should be a mostly dry day, at
01:05least during daylight hours anyway, with the rain not arriving until the evening and overnight.
01:11Behind that front we are going to see something a bit clearer, so some sunnier skies but also
01:15a scattering of showers across Scotland and some of these could turn heavy, perhaps even
01:19thundery. Still mild for many though, particularly ahead of the front in the south-east, highs
01:23of around 14, possibly 15 Celsius again. Something a little bit fresher trying to push
01:28in behind the front, but there won't be any major drop in our temperatures just yet.
01:33As we look ahead towards Wednesday and our attention turns to a system currently waiting
01:37out in the Atlantic, this is going to push towards the UK as we go through Tuesday night
01:42into Wednesday morning and so many places likely to start Wednesday morning on a pretty
01:47wet note. Heavy, persistent rain across pretty much the whole of the UK and spreading to
01:52all parts as we go through the morning too. Greatest impacts likely to be in the south-west
01:57where we do have a warning because some travel disruption pretty likely as well as some localised
02:02flooding too. But all the rain does clear away towards the east as we go through the
02:06day, with something a bit drier developing for many in the afternoon and we may even
02:11see some bright or perhaps even sunny spells too. There will be blustery winds though to
02:15watch out for, especially in association with the front as it makes its way across the country.
02:20Still mild, temperatures several degrees above average for the time of year, again
02:24quite widely getting into double figures, most places seeing highs ranging from around
02:2811 to 14 or possibly 15 Celsius. There is more unsettled weather to come later on this
02:33week and into the weekend, so do make sure you stay up to date. You can check out our
02:37week ahead weather forecast which is available on our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
