00:00Hello there and welcome to your weekend forecast issued this Thursday. Well for
00:05the next few days it's all about the showers. Low pressure firmly in charge
00:09driving those showers in with a stronger wind for a time and then the flow
00:13becomes a little slacker and what that means there is a chance of some fog by
00:17night in the north through the early hours of Saturday morning and then
00:20Sunday morning further south across England and Wales. Let's look at the
00:24bigger picture. Friday into Saturday you can see this area of low pressure
00:28becoming complex for a time with another one situated across the North
00:33Sea and bands of showers just swirling around this low. You can see what the
00:37strongest winds will be across the north and the west of Scotland and also Irish
00:41Sea coast but where we see a lighter breeze that's where we're likely to see
00:45some fog patches through the early hours of Saturday morning. It's a bit of a
00:48murky start and then through the day showers will continue. They will come and
00:53go. Some places could get away with some brighter weather and some drier
00:57conditions. Certainly for the southeast for a time as you can see these showers
01:00never too far away and a stronger wind associated with the area of low pressure
01:05particularly towards the northern and western flank of the low. So wherever you
01:09are you may catch a shower through the day. If you catch one towards the east
01:13where the winds are lighter it could last for quite some time. Elsewhere
01:17they'll move through quite quite quickly. Stronger winds across the south later on
01:22in the day. So temperature wise nothing really to write home about. It's around
01:26average for this time of year. A bit cooler across the north and the west
01:30particularly with that northerly wind coming in. 11 or 12 will be your high here and
01:34certainly if you catch a heavy shower temperatures may fall temporarily. So
01:39through Saturday into Sunday this area of low pressure tends to fill a little
01:43bit as it drifts towards the near continent and then we see a real squeeze
01:47on the isobars and occlusions just pushing down across the country. That's
01:51through Saturday into Sunday. It will be a slow process and what it means
01:55certainly as we head through into Sunday quite a lot of rain is going to
01:59be associated with this front towards the north. So that's northern and
02:02northeastern areas of Scotland. Unpleasant conditions here with a driving
02:06wind and further showery bits and pieces likely further south. So again it's a
02:10rather wet day. So let's take a look at the detail. You can see this northerly wind
02:15pushing down and it's going to drag this cloud and rain further south through the
02:19day. So it will clear down towards the south over 24 hours or so. Certainly
02:23showers likely further south. Showery bursts of rain at that and then thicker
02:27cloud just marches in across the north and the west of Scotland as well as
02:31Northern Ireland. A cool breeze. There will be some sunshine on offer
02:34particularly in between these two rain bands and so for places such as the
02:38Midlands, Lincolnshire, East Anglia even the middle part of Wales you may see
02:42some brighter weather through a Sunday afternoon. Temperatures struggling though
02:47a little bit lower than what we've seen over the last few days. 10 to 14 degrees
02:52Celsius and certainly you will notice the difference with that wind further
02:55north and also northwest. However with a lighter breeze across the central zone
03:00of England and East Wales through the first part of Sunday watch out for some
03:05mist and murk even some fog patches which will tend to lift. So that's Sunday
03:10through Sunday into Monday. Things do change. It's an improving picture. You can
03:16see these weather fronts attempting to sort of move down towards France as well
03:20as Belgium before fizzling out and then it's a ridge of high pressure extending
03:25across from the Atlantic which will bring some relief to the wet weather
03:28certainly the saturated land through Monday. Drier conditions even some
03:34sunshine as any showers become few and far between but notice towards the north
03:38on Monday another squeeze on the isobars. We'll see gales here later on
03:42Monday and eventually some outbreaks of rain. So all in all yes we will see some
03:47conditions. It's not going to last. Keep posted though. Keep up to date with the
03:52forecast on all our social media channels. Bye bye.
