00:00Hello there and welcome to your weekend forecast this Thursday 1st August. Well over the last
00:05few weeks we have seen some extremes in terms of temperature and then this week thunderstorms
00:10causing some flooding. It's a quieter start into the weekend, fine at first, showers never
00:16too far away, just a few on Saturday and we'll see an increasing risk of those showers through
00:21Sunday, warm for many but hot on Sunday particularly across the south eastern part of the country.
00:27The bigger picture through Friday, this large area of low pressure is fairly static, it's
00:31not moving very far but it will cast an influence over the UK through Saturday into Sunday.
00:37But as you can see here it's a slack flow, come Saturday morning we could actually see
00:40some mist and fog patches, a warm and quite sweaty start to the day. Temperatures pretty
00:46high first thing and rising quite nicely through the afternoon. As the cloud breaks up some
00:51of us seeing some brighter weather, the clouds coming and going and a few scattered showers
00:55for Scotland as well as Wales, the west country through the afternoon, one or two perhaps
00:59clipping the east coast. Many areas though will be dry and temperatures doing quite well,
01:0422 across the central belt of Scotland. Down towards the south we'd like to see a 21-24
01:09degrees Celsius leading into a warm night on Saturday night, again a muggy night. Eventually
01:15this area of showery rain will gradually push in across Northern Ireland, Irish Sea coast
01:20towards Wales and Western Scotland. It will be a dry start further east and again a warm
01:25one comes Sunday morning. Through Sunday then, sunshine to start the day. You could see some
01:30mist emerging, it will burn off. A lot of clouds across Scotland but again we'll see
01:34some breaks in the clouds and then an increasing chance of some showery bursts of rain as it
01:39pushes from the west towards the east. Showers breaking out ahead of it as well but they
01:44will be a scattered affair. However, in the north and the west there is a risk of thunderstorms
01:49associated with that plume of cloud and showery rain. In between we will see some sunshine
01:55particularly towards the east and temperatures typically coming in around 22-23 degrees Celsius.
02:01It could be even higher in the south and east as I said. We could see values at the very
02:07best around 28 or even 29 degrees Celsius. So here it will feel hot through the afternoon
02:13and despite the fact we'll see showers elsewhere, temperatures will remain above average. In
02:18fact that's how we see the beginning of next week. A mix of sunshine, some heavy showers
02:23and temperatures well on the warm side. Obviously we'll keep you posted here on all our social
02:28media channels. Bye bye.
