Cloud and rain continuing to move its way north and eastwards into northern England and Scotland. Behind this band, drier with some clear skies, but some more showers will move in from the south and west. 00:00Hello. Well, after a largely unsettled end to the weekend, it will be turning brighter
00:05through Monday with sunny spells and scattered showers. We may see some early evening sunshine
00:10towards the southwest this evening, but cloud and rain will continue to move its way north
00:15and eastwards into northern England, but more so across Scotland to start Monday morning.
00:21Behind that, drier with plenty of clear skies, but we will see a few showers moving in from
00:27the south and west that could still be heavy at times. We may even see some mist and fog patches
00:33developing underneath the clear skies, but otherwise temperatures will generally be holding
00:38up in the double figures at around 10 or 11 degrees. So it's going to be a damp start on
00:43Monday across much of Scotland with outbreaks of rain that will gradually move its way northwards.
00:49And then for the rest of the UK, it is a case of sunny spells, scattered showers. We'll see
00:54some longer spells of rain for a time across northwestern parts of England, but further
00:59towards the south, that's where we'll see more in the way of showers that could turn heavy and
01:04possibly thundery too. We also have a cluster of showers coming in to the far southwest to end
01:11the day as well, and this could give some difficult driving conditions. But otherwise, temperatures
01:16reaching up to 17, possibly 18 degrees in the south, but towards the north across Orkney and
01:22Shetland underneath the persistent cloud and rain feeling cooler here with an easterly breeze as
01:27well. So through Monday evening, then we have heavy spells of rain moving their way northwards
01:33across the southern parts of England into Wales, into the Midlands through rush hour. So do take
01:38care as there could be some transport disruption here as that gradually moves its way northwards
01:43into Northern Ireland and northwestern parts of England to touch to start Tuesday morning.
01:49Some clear spells in between may allow for some mist and fog to develop, but already we're seeing
01:54further showers moving towards the southwest by Tuesday morning. Otherwise, it is generally going
02:00to stay quite mild overnight. Again, temperatures ranging from 11 to 12 in the south, but perhaps
02:06just a little bit colder towards the far north. So a messy picture really to start Tuesday morning
02:12with cloud and outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland, Northern England moving its way into
02:17parts of southern Scotland towards the south and west. It's a case of sunny spells, scattered
02:23showers, some of these again still on the heavy side. There will be some breaks in between and
02:29in any sunshine we'll see highs of up to 17, possibly 18 degrees, but towards the north
02:35feeling slightly cooler and also a bit of a breeze coming down towards the north.
02:42So as we go through the week, then we still hold on to low pressure Tuesday and Wednesday,
02:46but this is ex-hurricane Kirk and it looks like it's now going to be tracking towards the south
02:52of the UK, more so affecting France. And as that clears its way through, we'll start to see
02:58northerly winds develop. So it is going to be turning colder as we go into the second half
03:03of the week, but we'll still need to keep an eye on the in the track of ex-hurricane Kirk. So make
