00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met Office. This weather,
00:04which has been quiet, calm, murky, a bit cold in places with some frost, is coming to an
00:10end. We've seen a very dry first half of November. High pressure remains in charge for the next
00:15few days, but changes are coming in from the north. For the time being, though, yet again
00:20lots of low cloud, the risk of some fog where we see starry skies and temperatures falling
00:25under those clearer skies. We could see some pockets of frost. At the same time, some patchy
00:30rain continues to affect the far northwest of Scotland. We could see some spots of rain
00:35and drizzle across the far north of Northern Ireland. This feature here will bring a little
00:39bit of wet weather across East Anglia, the Midlands, down towards the southeast through
00:43the early hours of Thursday morning. But for many, it's a cloudy night. It's foggy for
00:49some and some local air frost can't be ruled out where we have seen some clearer skies.
00:55So first thing then on Thursday morning, yet again, any fog or hill fog will be slow to
01:00clear and it could linger on, particularly towards the west. Dry skies for many areas
01:05and the clouds will break at times and you'll see some brighter weather coming through.
01:11Favoured spots, perhaps eastern counties of England through the morning into the afternoon.
01:15areas of Scotland, the central belt. Always a little rain and drizzle towards Shetland
01:20as well as Orkney and Caithness, as well as the western side of Scotland and Northern
01:24Ireland seeing a lot of cloud here. Now temperatures will be around average, if not slightly above
01:31as we head through the afternoon, coming in around 12, 13 degrees Celsius. Make the most
01:36of any warmth in the air because all change through the weekend and into next week. Now
01:43through Thursday evening and overnight, we repeat that low cloud and again some hill
01:48fog around, but notice that rain and drizzle could become a bit more persistent across
01:53the western side of Scotland and the winds will pick up here and we'll see some clouds
01:58and some patchy rain across northern England down towards North Wales as we enter the day
02:03on Friday. Some brighter skies towards the south. We could see some pockets of frost
02:08to start the day, but certainly temperatures hanging on to 10 to 12 degrees Celsius where
02:12you see some brighter weather. Saturday into Sunday, this cold front slowly sinks southwards.
02:18We'll have a little rain on it, but some showers will follow and expect some gales across the
02:23far north into Sunday. The air turns a lot colder through Sunday and into next week,
02:29with the chance of some wintry showers, if not some snow showers across Scotland feeling
02:33cold in that wind. I'll see you later.
