00:00 Hello there, good evening. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. There's
00:05 been some heavy thundery showers across the UK today. But the good news is low pressure
00:10 moves away over the next 24 hours and is replaced by high pressure, bringing plenty of dry and
00:17 settled weather. Though weather fronts will topple over the high at times, bringing the
00:21 risk of thicker cloud outbreaks of rain to the north-west of the UK. But for all, by
00:26 the end of the week, temperatures starting to rise. The average temperature for this
00:30 time of year should be between 14 and 17 Celsius across the country. As we move through this
00:35 week, temperatures rising to the low 20s, perhaps even mid 20s as we head into the coming
00:41 weekend. So out there at the moment, there's still some heavy showers around. These will
00:46 slowly ease away. And then overnight, it's largely dry across the country. Just a few
00:52 showers possible in the thicker cloud are through the spine of the country. Elsewhere,
00:58 some mist and fog patches forming as skies clear. With light winds, we'll see temperatures
01:03 dip away under the clear skies around 7 or 8 degrees, but under the cloud holding up
01:08 in double figures. So it's a messy start to Tuesday morning. Outbreaks of patchy light
01:14 rain through the central part and northern part of the UK. Elsewhere, mist and fog patches
01:19 slowly clearing and then a bright day, sunny spells. But just notice again, quite a bit
01:24 of cloud through central and northern areas, thick enough for a few spots of light rain
01:28 and drizzle. And around some eastern coast as well, some low cloud from the North Sea
01:33 could lap onshore at times. In the best of the sunshine towards central and southern
01:37 parts of England and Wales, temperatures will rise here towards the high teens, low 20s.
01:43 And that could just spark one or two heavy showers. But the vast majority of us will
01:47 be dry, feeling a little cooler where we do keep some low cloud temperatures, generally
01:51 the mid to high teens for many of us. Through the evening time on Tuesday, any heavy showers
01:57 across central, southern areas will fade away. Once more, with clearing skies and light winds,
02:02 we'll see some mist and fog patches forming, low cloud moving in from the North Sea to
02:06 affect eastern parts through the night. And then just by the end of the night, this weather
02:10 front starting to introduce some thicker cloud and stronger winds across the very far northwest
02:16 of the country. In terms of temperatures, mixed again under the clear spells, dipping
02:21 into single figures around 9 or 10 Celsius under the cloud. So, a cloudy start across
02:29 many parts on Wednesday morning. Mist and fog in places, murky, particularly in the
02:34 east. But this lifts and breaks through the morning and that allows plenty of sunshine
02:38 to develop. Hazy sunshine at times, particularly across northern and western parts. But most
02:43 places will be dry, best of the blue skies towards the south-east and here temperatures
02:48 reaching around 19 or 20 Celsius. Perhaps again along eastern coasts, one or two spots
02:54 holding back here the temperatures if we remain in the low cloud, murky conditions through
03:00 the day. But I'm hopeful most coastal areas will brighten up. This weather front, close
03:04 by across Norman Island, up into the highlands and islands could give some outbreaks of rain
03:09 here at times. But the vast majority of us dry and temperatures be high teens quite widely.
03:16 Into the evening time, this weather system continues to push further eastwards across
03:19 parts of Scotland. Then that high pressure builds further, temperatures rise and most
03:24 of us have a dry week to come. See you again soon.
