A band of rain and cloud slowly will move its way north over Northern Ireland and Scotland overnight, with the latter holding onto this rain for much longer. By early morning much of the cloud will clear England and Wales, leaving behind a clear and dry night for these areas. Feeling a little chilly under clear skies. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 07/03/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Honor Criswick.

00:00Hello there, good evening. There wasn't quite as much spring sunshine around this afternoon
00:05but could we see more over the weekend? Well, let's take a look. Starting off though with
00:10this evening, a band of cloud and outbreaks of rain. It slowly moves its way northwards.
00:14So for a time bringing some rain across Northern Ireland, this eventually easing away and any
00:19rain becoming largely confined to northern parts of Scotland. Perhaps seeing the odd
00:23heavier burst here too. But for many it's going to be a dry night, a mix of cloud and
00:27clear spells. Feeling a little bit chilly under those clearest of skies. We actually
00:31find ourselves in a warm sector, so in between two frontal systems. So that means for most
00:36it's actually going to be quite a mild start to the weekend. Cloudy and murky though across
00:41Scotland to begin with. Any rain still moving its way northwards, moving into parts of Shetland
00:47by the time we reach mid-morning. And then some cloud spilling into parts of Devon and
00:51Cornwall, perhaps southern parts of Wales where we may see the odd shower. But for most
00:55on Saturday, there's going to be lots of dry weather around. Some blue skies in fact
00:59in particular. And when we see the sunshine, it is going to be feeling warm. Highs of 18,
01:04particularly across northern parts of England. Maybe even 19 or 20 degrees Celsius if we
01:09see that sunshine stick around for long enough. Through into the evening, well we don't see
01:15much change. We still have this area of rain lingering on for a time across Shetland before
01:19it eventually clears its way northwards. Once again, a dry night, a mix of cloud and some
01:24clearer spells. We could see some patchy fog where we see the clearest of skies and
01:29still some hazy higher cloud moving into parts of Devon and Cornwall. But once again, a mild
01:35start to Sunday. Now that rain still clings on across northern parts of Scotland. So some
01:40more cloud here, some showery outbreaks and still a chance we could see the odd shower
01:44affecting parts of Cornwall. But once again on Sunday, really feeling like spring. Lots
01:49of blue skies around and feeling warm still too. That's away from the far north of Scotland
01:54though where it's still going to be a little bit unsettled here. More cloud and outbreaks
01:58of rain. But still temperatures widely above average. 16, 17, once again 18 or 19 where
02:04we see that sunshine. So a fairly pleasant weekend. Lots of dry weather around. But it
02:09looks like it's going to be turning chilly into next week. So enjoy the warm weather
02:12while it's here. Bye bye.
