00:00Hello, good afternoon. Welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Well, it's been a rather cloudy end to the week with some outbreaks of rain moving into the west.
00:09If we take a look at the satellite picture from this afternoon,
00:12we can see plenty of cloud across country with those outbreaks of rain in western parts.
00:16Quite a different story when you compare it to the rest of England and Wales.
00:21As we head into the evening, there'll still be plenty of cloud,
00:24outbreaks of rain continuing across much of the country.
00:27And notice these brighter colours later towards dawn as well.
00:30So some heavier downpours expected by the time we reach the morning
00:33and still fairly blustery winds under those cloudier skies too.
00:37But the combination of this means it is going to be a fairly mild night.
00:41Quite an unsettled start to the weekend as well.
00:44Once again, still plenty of cloud around, some outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
00:47This too could be heavy at times, particularly in western and northern parts of the country.
00:51But notice it is going to be brightening up from the south later on into the afternoon.
00:56With temperatures just above average for the time of year in those sheltered spots,
01:00it should feel pleasant where you catch the sunshine.
01:02But there'll still be plenty of cloud around across northern areas
01:05and still those outbreaks of rain lingering for much of the day across northern coasts.
01:09Later on into the evening, still those outbreaks of rain across the north.
01:14But plenty of drier spells overnight on Saturday
01:17before the rest of the rain moves in once again on Sunday.
01:20So still plenty of unsettled weather, rather patchy areas of rain.
01:24Perhaps the odd heavier spell, particularly across hills.
01:27Generally a little bit drier towards the afternoon but still plenty of cloud around
01:30and there will still be that risk of rain and drizzle once again, mostly above hilly areas.
01:34And much of that rain may just linger across the northern isles through much of Sunday too.
