00:00Hello, the longest weekend of the year is here and for many there'll be quite a bit
00:06of sunshine around. But not for everybody. Right now we've got a big swirl of cloud down
00:11to the southwest. That's an area of low pressure bringing some quite gusty conditions across
00:15Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. There's a weather front from that low pressure drifting
00:19north bringing some cloud and patchy rain. But for large chunks of the country, much
00:24of the night will be dry and clear and that means it could turn a little misty. The cloud
00:28will thicken up through the night across the far southeast with a little bit of drizzly
00:32rain creeping in here. Mostly the air is coming up from the south so it's still pretty mild.
00:37We could dip down to single figures but many towns and cities will start the weekend in
00:41double digits. On to the details for Saturday and it's a bit of a messy one. For many it'll
00:47be a fine day but there will be more cloud across East Anglia and the southeast compared
00:52to Friday and at times some patchy rain will come and go here. The rain likely to be a
00:58little more persistent and heavier across northwest Scotland as this band of rain pushes
01:02south into the west of Scotland by the end of the day and across Northern Ireland as
01:06well. So after a dry start here we will see rain moving in. Still quite breezy initially
01:10in the southwest but the winds easing here and for much of southwest England, Midlands,
01:14Wales, most of northern England. It's a good looking Saturday, fine and dry with some sunshine
01:20coming through lifting those temperatures up above average 15, 16, maybe 17 Celsius.
01:25There is cooler air coming in behind this rain band and that will be pushing south during
01:30Saturday evening spreading the wet weather through the central belt on Saturday evening
01:34and then some of that rain arriving across parts of northern England before as you can
01:39see tending to just fizzle out as we go through the early hours of Sunday morning. As it does
01:44so and that colder air arrives expect a chillier start to Sunday compared to Saturday. Temperatures
01:51much more widely down to single figures. The low single figures and a touch of frost
01:55is possible in some rural spots. So yes a chillier start to Sunday but by and large
02:00a cracking start. A sunny day thanks to this area of high pressure moving in. Now that's
02:06going to stick around across the south but look at this. There is a set of weather fronts
02:10drifting in towards the north. So that will change things up here after a mostly dry start
02:15in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The cloud will spill in quite quickly through the morning
02:19and then outbreaks of rain will come trickling in as well eventually getting to eastern Scotland
02:23across Northern Ireland and maybe down to the far northwest of England by the end of
02:28the day. But for a good chunk of England and Wales most of the day will be dry and fine
02:32as the sunshine may turn rather hazy over northern England and Wales. But by and large
02:37a fine autumn day and temperatures will be lower than Saturday's. But still I suspect
02:42feeling pretty pleasant we might squeak up to 14 or 15. It will of course feel cooler
02:47with a wet and breezy weather across the far northwest from that weather system moving
02:52in. But high pressure will dominate for much of next week which is probably good news if
02:57you are on half term. For more on that subscribe to our YouTube channel and make sure you're
