00:00 Welcome to your latest update from the Met Office.
00:02 The storms have cleared away.
00:04 Not a lot of sunshine on offer, though, this Thursday.
00:06 A lot of cloud around, but it is pretty mild.
00:09 You can see that cloud's been moving in.
00:11 There's further bands of it out in the Atlantic as well.
00:14 And our weather will continue to feed in from the west
00:17 for the next few days.
00:18 Tucked in here, we call this a warm sector.
00:20 That's where we've got the really mild air.
00:22 But it is pretty cloudy conditions for most of the UK.
00:26 And on these weather fronts, we do
00:27 have some rain, a wet start across Scotland.
00:29 That rain's pushing away.
00:30 But further pulses of rain will come into Wales and northwest
00:34 England this afternoon.
00:36 Patchier, the rain elsewhere, some drizzly conditions,
00:39 but a bit of brightness is possible.
00:41 Cloud breaking up over parts of eastern England,
00:43 and at times, north coast of Northern Ireland
00:45 and into western Scotland.
00:46 We may see a little bit of blue sky, too.
00:48 But for most of us, it's a gray Thursday.
00:51 It is pretty mild, however.
00:53 Temperatures getting into double digits,
00:55 may even squeak into the teens in one or two locations.
00:58 It's fairly breezy as well, though.
01:00 And the brisk winds will continue
01:02 to feed in quite a bit of cloud through the evening
01:04 and overnight.
01:04 Further rain to come for Wales and parts of northern England.
01:07 And then we have this weather front,
01:09 this line of heavier rain that swings in across northern
01:12 Britain through the night and continues
01:14 to track further south across England and Wales.
01:16 So we'll all see a spell of rain.
01:18 Could be quite heavy for a time.
01:19 And the winds could start to gust up as that moves through.
01:22 Once it has moved through, clearer skies will follow.
01:25 But also colder air, cold enough for some snow
01:28 flurries across northern Scotland,
01:30 mostly over the hills across central and southern Scotland.
01:32 But further north could also turn icy
01:35 as temperatures get down to freezing late in the night.
01:38 For most of us, we'll start Friday
01:40 between 3 and 5 Celsius.
01:41 But still quite mild in the southeast.
01:43 This weather front clearing away, though,
01:46 probably before dawn across East Anglia and the southeast.
01:49 So here, too, we should wake up to sunny skies.
01:53 And for many, Friday will be a bright and breezy day.
01:56 More showers coming into western Scotland.
01:58 Still some snow here over the hills,
02:00 but mostly rain at lower levels.
02:02 And for many, it's a fine day Friday.
02:05 It's a dry, bright, some decent spells of sunshine.
02:08 Still a bit breezy in the north, but nothing
02:10 like the strong winds that we've seen earlier in the week.
02:12 It will feel fresher compared to today.
02:15 Today is very mild, however.
02:17 And by tomorrow, we're just back close to average.
02:19 Get in the sunshine, out of the wind.
02:21 Shouldn't feel too bad at all, generally 5 to 10 degrees
02:24 Celsius.
02:25 Not much will change through Friday evening.
02:27 We'll continue to feed some showers in here.
02:29 And that's broadly the picture for the weekend.
02:31 There'll be rain at times in the far northwest,
02:33 but many areas looking pretty dry through this weekend.
