00:10On today's show...
00:20Our first guest today, Shannon, is here to prove to her ex-father, Jordan, that he is the father to the baby he calls, get this, a mistake.
00:27A mistake.
00:29Is he the father?
00:30Yeah, 100%, no doubt. I was never out of his sight to go and choose.
00:35Oi, oi, oi, where's he going? Is that true what she said?
00:38Two kids and you've never paid for them, you've never gone to work, you've never done anything, why's that?
00:42You're happy.
00:43Why don't you keep it in your trousers if you can't be responsible?
00:49What do you want from today? I need to know.
00:52Make or break now, I can't do this any longer. I want to prove to him that he's the dad. He knows, I think he knows deep down, this is double.
01:02Muriel needs to shut up, stay out of this, get washed.
01:05You've never been there for him, Muriel. Where have you been for the last four years? Nowhere. You've never been there for them, so what are you going on about?
01:14Grandkids call her the fat lady and she needs to get washed, get cleaned and find a fashion house.
01:20Sorry, Muriel's on the Jeremy Callaghan.
01:26Tommy, shut up, Tommy, shut up. I'm scared every time you go down, Tommy, shut up.
01:32All you are is that.
01:45Morning, guys.
01:53Hello, friends, good morning and a big, big welcome to the show.
01:55Now, our first guest today, Shannon, is here to prove to her ex-partner, Jordan, that he is the father to the baby he calls, get this, a mistake.
02:03Shannon says Jordan isn't interested in being a dad and suspects he's back on drugs and says unless he starts acting like a father, she, and she says every right, will never allow him to see the kid again.
02:13She wants him to step up. Shannon is on the Jeremy Call Show. That way.
02:26Anybody can see how difficult this is and anybody that reads this story would know what this means.
02:31And it's very easy for us to be here, but when it's your life and when you've got two kids, massively important day.
02:38Ex-partner, Jordan, two kids, DNA on the youngest. Yeah.
02:42Let's talk about you and Jordan. You say 100% the father of the baby, but he's not seeing my children.
02:48He hasn't been seeing the children. There's all sorts of problems. Let's go back to the beginning. How long were you together?
02:53Three years, since 2012. We split up last June when I was two weeks pregnant with Riley.
03:01You instigated that or he left?
03:03No, I got social services got involved because of his drink and drug problem.
03:09And they gave me the ultimatum. You either pick your children or you pick your partner.
03:14And I'd never pick my partner.
03:18Do you know over the years how many women wrapped up in what they might think a bloke could or might not be would actually have picked their partner?
03:29So fair play to you. You made the right decision. You say he's always really, before that, seemed to have issues.
03:35I've tried to hope that it would get better, but he's more interested in partying than his kids. Since you split with him, does he see them?
03:42No. Not at all? No. If he walks past them in the street, every now and then he'll stop and say hello.
03:48Even if he's with his mum and his stepdad, like, they'll just carry on walking. It's almost like we're not there.
03:55Does he pay for his kids? No.
03:58Doesn't see his kids, doesn't pay for him. Blanks his kids in the street. You say it was a relief when we split. I felt suffocated.
04:06He's sly and clever. What do you mean by that?
04:09He's clever how he words things. Like, he'll try and make me to be the bad person if he knows deep down that he's in the wrong.
04:17Why are we doing a DNA test on the youngest child today?
04:20Because he made me... I rung him and told him I thought I was pregnant again with the second, Riley.
04:26He made me do a clear blue, and it came up like two to three weeks. But with a clear blue, you have to add another week or something on.
04:32Because it said two to three... Is he the father? Yeah, 100%, no doubt. I was never out of his sight to go and cheat.
04:38How old is he? 18. And Ax about 11.
04:42Get his phone. Where's he going now? Running off? Oh, God bless. Where's he going? For a little walk, is he?
04:48Got to look for a job, have we?
04:51You coming with me? I'm not having that. Where's he going?
04:57Are you all right, sweetheart? There you are. We'll get through the curtains.
05:01Where are you going? Where is he? Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi! Where's he going?
05:05Is that true, what she said? Two kids and you've never paid for them, you've never gone to work, you've never done anything. Why's that?
05:11You have paid for them. Why don't you keep it in your trousers if you can't be responsible?
05:15Why didn't she open her legs to me? What did you just say? It's two ways, it's not just a one-way.
05:19Why did she open her legs to me? Yeah, that's what I'm saying, you're acting like it's just a one-way thing.
05:24It's a relationship, it is a two-way thing. Are you on drugs? No.
05:28Why do you sound like you're on drugs, then? Because I'm on my substitute. Oh, right, yeah.
05:32I've been clean for, what is it, ten months. Ten months, yeah?
05:35But you had a child whilst you were on drugs, two children. Yeah.
05:39What do you mean, yeah? Why is it people like you just think that's normal?
05:43Who do you think pays for your kids? Don't tell me to lie, tell me to tell the truth.
05:46Who do you think pays for your kids? Sharon.
05:50Oh, my God. What was it that first attracted you to this human being?
05:55Was it his dynamic personality, what was it? I don't know.
05:58What do you want from him? Why am I doing a DNA on the youngest?
06:02Well, because I want to know if he's mine or not.
06:05Why would he not be?
06:07Because we met three months after our break
06:11and she showed me a digital pregnancy test saying she was four to five weeks.
06:15When did you last see the kids?
06:17About two weeks ago, if I'm being honest.
06:20How did you see them two weeks ago?
06:23If you want to start this, then that's fine.
06:25Sorry, what did you say? She rang me last night. Who are you?
06:28Best friend, Shannon. My best friend.
06:30Could you help me out here? What have I got here? Help me out.
06:33She rang me last night telling me what to say and what not to say.
06:36Back me up here. Who was on the phone to me all night?
06:39Yeah, you. Who was on the phone?
06:41Telling me what to say and not what to say, so we agreed about doing it.
06:44Really? I'm not going to go. Let's say she did say that.
06:47What do you want to say to me?
06:49Tell me. If she wanted to keep you quiet because you've got some side,
06:52tell me what you want to say. Forget her, tell me what you want to say.
06:55Because from where I'm standing, you're 18, you've got two kids, OK?
06:58You apparently want a DNA on the youngest.
07:00It's going to be pretty obvious that she's not a liar. What have you done?
07:03Stick up for yourself. Do you work, do you pay, do you do anything? No.
07:06So come on, you tell me what you want to say man to man, little boy, go on.
07:09I used to work but I quit due to the bad pay
07:11and then I've been looking for jobs every single day.
07:14You quit due to the bad pay? So how are your kids supposed to eat?
07:17Well, Shannon... Why don't you get your nose down,
07:20make a success of it and get promoted?
07:22APPLAUSE
07:24You believe that this woman cheated on you,
07:26which is why we're doing the DNA, yeah?
07:28I wasn't technically cheating, we were on a break,
07:30so I'm not saying she was cheating.
07:32Jordan, I never... How could I do that?
07:34Can you imagine what Maisie would think of her mum
07:36if I was out sleeping with other people?
07:38I'm not saying that. She was, like, eight months old.
07:40How do you suppose that I'd go and cheat?
07:42Would you suppose I'd sit her in front of the TV or something?
07:44No, you've got family.
07:46You still in love with him? No.
07:48Help me out, best friend. Where's she gone?
07:50I'm here, moving out the way.
07:52Talk to me. Come on, somebody help me.
07:54I don't know what I'm supposed to do sometimes.
07:56Talk to me.
07:58To be honest, I don't even think he cares about the kids.
08:00He's more obsessed with Shannon than he is anything.
08:02You still in love with Shannon?
08:04I'm not in love with Shannon.
08:06Obviously, I still have feelings for Shannon.
08:08Like, minor feelings.
08:10She's obviously my baby mum.
08:12What about your children? Were you at the birth?
08:14Yeah, I was at the birth. Both of them?
08:16Then how do you walk away?
08:18No, I wasn't at the birth of Riley,
08:20because social services wouldn't let me.
08:22Why was that? Because...
08:24Because she was on drugs and you were messing around?
08:26Yeah, but she was lying as well.
08:28Social services weren't just involved because of the drugs.
08:30It was because of the young age.
08:32So what do you want from today? Why are you here?
08:34I want to prove that I can be a father.
08:36I want to prove that.
08:38Then start running off and all three of you get on that stage.
08:40That way, go.
08:42What do you want from today? I need to know.
08:44I can't do this any longer.
08:46I want to prove to him that he's the dad.
08:48He knows. I think he knows deep down.
08:50He's his dad now.
08:52You planned the baby, he says,
08:54and then just left him. Why?
08:56No, we planned the baby and I gave him the chance
08:58to step up and that,
09:00and then he didn't step up.
09:02I bought this for Lachlan because I care about him.
09:04You care about him so you bought him a baby?
09:06What about putting money in an account
09:08so he can drink milk?
09:14Do you need to find out
09:16who is the father of the baby?
09:18Do you need that all-important DNA test?

09:42APPLAUSE
09:50Everyone, come out for the break.
09:52Shannon, Jordan, best mate Emma.
09:54Shannon, you've got to help me out here.
09:56What do you want from today?
09:58I need to know...
10:00This is make or break now.
10:02I can't do this any longer.
10:04I want to prove to him that he's the dad.
10:06I think he knows deep down.
10:08Here's his double.
10:10When you look behind you, what does that mean?
10:12Look behind you now.
10:14It means a lot.
10:16But you can't blame me to think
10:18there are a lot of people out there
10:20who are desperate to be parents.
10:22What do you want from today, Jordan?
10:24To find out if he's mine or not
10:26and to prove that I'm clean.
10:28And if he is yours?
10:30Then I want to step up and be a dad
10:32and I will provide for him,
10:34but to be honest, I don't see why I should provide for him
10:36if I'm not seeing him.
10:38Have you done enough to see him?
10:40I should provide, should I be your son?
10:42Yes, I have. No, I have done enough.
10:44Why haven't you seen him then?
10:46I've given up a job because apparently the pay's not good.
10:48There will be people watching this
10:50that go, that's exactly what's wrong with this world.
10:52You should get into work, prove that you're good.
10:54It is a struggle and that's how you step up.
10:56But we live in a country and a world, I'm afraid,
10:58that says, do you know what, you can leave your world
11:00and the benefits system will bring your kids up
11:02and people get hacked off with that, Jordan,
11:04because at the end of the day, if you create something in life,
11:06you should be responsible for it, shouldn't you?
11:08Yeah, I know, and I will, but...
11:10DNA.
11:12Major concerns that the youngest isn't yours.
11:14How old's Riley?
11:16He'll be two in April.
11:18Yeah? What does this kid mean to you? Nothing?
11:20Yeah, it means a lot.
11:22I'm pretty sure it is mine, but there is...
11:24I'm pretty sure it is mine.
11:26Yeah, but there's small doubts.
11:28Riley, you mean Riley, not it.
11:30It's not a, like, thing like your iPhone
11:32that's a little baby.
11:34You are the child's biological father.
11:36APPLAUSE
11:40I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
11:42Get rid of the... Actually, leave the picture to the kid.
11:44I'm going to do this completely different,
11:46because you just said to me, you said,
11:48all you do is you don't listen to my side.
11:50You've got one minute when nobody else is saying a word.
11:52Tell me how you think
11:54you're going to change your life.
11:56Be a dad, be an ex-partner,
11:58provide and step up.
12:00You tell me what you think you're going to do.
12:02Come on, give me some passion, Jordan.
12:04Well, I'll start getting a job.
12:06I've been looking for jobs every single day.
12:08You don't sound like you could get through ten minutes, mate.
12:10You sound half asleep.
12:12Well...
12:14Where's the passion, Jordan?
12:16I'm a laid-back person.
12:18Not when it comes to making girls pregnant, no?
12:20Not laid-back then, are we?
12:22Well, yeah, technically.
12:24Jordan, he should...
12:26Very funny.
12:28If you look behind you, my friend, you've got...
12:30I'm not trying to be funny.
12:32But I don't understand.
12:34That's your son, that's now. I told you all the way.
12:36Doesn't even look at a picture of him.
12:38I'll tell you what, you did a drugs test, yeah?
12:40Graham's on the show, give him a round of applause.
12:42CHEERING
12:48Steve, Jordan did a drugs test.
12:50He says he's been clean for ten months, true?
12:52Absolutely true.
12:54He came here to prove that he was clean of drugs
12:56and today's test confirms that.
13:00Look at me. I've done this for 12 years
13:02and I think I've become slightly soft, right?
13:04I'm going to give you the chance
13:06to change your life.
13:08Do you want that?
13:10Yeah.
13:12But then sell it to me that you do!
13:14I'm not good at these kind of things.
13:16I'm just telling you that I do.
13:18You want to work, do you?
13:20Yeah.
13:22Irrespective of the pay, yeah?
13:24I've been working for two years.
13:26You want another job, yeah?
13:28Yeah.
13:30For me, I don't know what Graham thinks,
13:32but when people present themselves for a job,
13:34it's about qualifications.
13:36I know we live in a world where you have to get through the door,
13:38but it's about the persona that you portray.
13:40And probably because of the drug abuse,
13:42but maybe other things as well,
13:44you're very laid back.
13:46People would think you don't give a damn,
13:48if I'm being completely honest, right?
13:50You have two beautiful kids,
13:52and when push comes to shove at the end of your life,
13:54they will be the only thing that really are your legacy.
13:56It doesn't matter about the rest of it.
13:58We've created something,
14:00and you, I hope,
14:02will be the champion.
14:04Graham's going to tell you about the Jeremy Carl
14:06Employment and Motivational Boot Camp.
14:08Speak to him.
14:10OK, so we've created an opportunity
14:12for people that are currently unemployed,
14:14and it's a boot camp,
14:16but it's a boot camp
14:18to encourage people's motivation,
14:20and it's also there
14:22to encourage the possibilities
14:24of future employment.
14:26So, on the boot camp,
14:28you will go away for five days.
14:30During that period of time,
14:32you will become motivated
14:34by the fact that
14:36you will be offered certain qualifications.
14:38So the first thing you will be offered
14:40is training to obtain a first aid
14:42at work certificate.
14:44The second opportunity will be
14:46a motivational speaker will come and speak to you.
14:48They will also teach you
14:50interviewing skills.
14:52They'll tell you how to present
14:54at that interview.
14:56So it's all about getting you ready,
14:58getting you prepared
15:00for that first step in getting a job.
15:02And that's...
15:04APPLAUSE
15:06Really?
15:08So, that's the nice bit.
15:10Then I'll tell you the bad bit.
15:12You see the big man over there, Steve?
15:14It'll be as hard as hell, mate,
15:16because he's going to be there for five days.
15:18You're going to be running, screaming and shouting
15:20and proving that you want this.
15:22That's all very nice and very important,
15:24but it's going to be hard graft.
15:26He's going to say to me,
15:28oh, he's a perfect person for this.
15:30I'm not sort of convinced, pal.
15:32You've got two children, mate.
15:34You're 18 years of age.
15:36You'll never get a better opportunity.
15:38I'll say it right here and now.
15:40You won't do this boot camp.
15:42You won't see it through.
15:44You won't get out of bed.
15:46You won't motivate yourself.
15:48I'm not talking about your personality.
15:50I'm talking about firing inside your heart and soul
15:52the desire to do something with your life
15:54and they'll tell me you'll do it.
15:56I was expecting somebody who might want this,
15:58who might rail against it,
16:00who might say, I'm not doing that, I'm all right.
16:02Stick it up your backside.
16:04Or yes, Jez, please, you say it's your personality.
16:06For her and for those kids, I'll give you the chance.
16:08But let me tell you something, pal,
16:10whatever you think about here or anybody else,
16:12best opportunity you'll ever get
16:14to come away from where you are
16:16and do something with your life.
16:18And if you want to do it, get off this stage with him
16:20and I will catch up with you later.
16:22You need to be convinced. Get out of here. Go.
16:24APPLAUSE
16:34Think he'll do that?
16:36Neither do I. Not in a million years.
16:38I don't care what anybody here tells me,
16:40he won't do that.
16:42God help him when he gets to boot camp.
16:44Listen, we'll do our best for you and the kids, all right?
16:46We'll ask you to go that way. Give him a round of applause.
16:48Thank you very much indeed.
16:50APPLAUSE
16:54The thing about him is, right,
16:56you would think this guy would grab that opportunity.
16:58I hope he does. He's obviously demotivated.
17:00Obviously, yes, he's clear of drugs.
17:02We acknowledge that.
17:04This is the best thing that can ever happen to that young man.
17:06Let's hope he grasps it. We'll let you know.
17:08Right, next is Leon.
17:10He's desperate and here to get access to his baby son
17:12with his ex-partner, Elise.
17:14He says Elise is using the kid as a weapon
17:16because he refuses to rekindle their relationship
17:18and it's the only way that she can hurt him.
17:20But he says he's not leaving today
17:22until she agrees to give him regular and consistent access.
17:24This guy says,
17:26I am on a mission.
17:28Leon's on the Jeremy Carr Show. That way.
17:30APPLAUSE
17:38Ex-boyfriend to, um, Elise.
17:40Elise, yes, yes.
17:42How old's the baby?
17:44Baby's, like, ten months.
17:46She's using you, Jeremy, to get a baby?
17:48Yeah, she used me. I feel like I, like, spammed her.
17:50I don't know, to be honest.
17:52And are you providing?
17:54I'm providing, yeah. I'm buying clothes for him every time I see him.
17:56We're giving him, like, bundles of clothes.
17:58Are you working?
18:00Well, I went for a modelling shoot, actually, in London.
18:02Sorry?
18:04I actually went for a modelling shoot in London
18:06a couple of weeks ago.
18:08That's more of, like,
18:10the boy-next-door look sort of thing.
18:12So you love this woman.
18:14You talked about having a baby.
18:16She gets pregnant, then she dumps you.
18:18You're doing your best. You want to see the kids.
18:20You're trying to work. You say she's evil and has no heart.
18:22What do you mean by that?
18:24She hasn't got a heart. She's been denying me access.
18:26Look, I've tried, like,
18:28speaking to her pretty much every day.
18:30Nothing but a liar and a troublemaker.
18:32I found pictures of other men's bits on her phone.
18:34I did, like, ages ago, yeah.
18:36It was a couple of years ago. I was on the Xbox a lot.
18:38You're still in love with her, aren't you?
18:40No.
18:42And then she's left me high and dry.
18:44I want to see my son.
18:46I don't want her back.
18:48I've seen loads.
18:50Two hours, four nights is not enough.
18:52So you're here.
18:54Did I ask you if you were paying for your son?
18:56Yeah, you did. I'm buying clothes for him every time I see him.
18:58I was supposed to see him, like,
19:00two hours, four nights.
19:02When I said, are you working, you said you went for a model shoot.
19:04Are you actually working, grafting, earning money,
19:06providing for the kid? Yes or no?
19:08I said no at the minute. Why?
19:10When I went down there, they said I succeeded.
19:12So I've got to wait for a portfolio.
19:14We all wait for that moment.
19:16I can wait to do a job like this,
19:18but then I go and get another job to keep the wolf from the door.
19:20Why are you not working?
19:22I applied for a few jobs, but I was just trying to wait
19:24to hear from them.
19:26Difficult, trying to get everything sorted.
19:28Elise is not nice.
19:30I wasn't invited to my son's christening.
19:32I found out on Facebook.
19:34I don't like what she's doing.
19:36I am not leaving until I get 50% access to my kid.
19:38We'll see if we can make that happen.
19:40Elise is next after this break. We're right back.
19:42Don't go anywhere. Shush.
19:44I bought this for Lachlan because I care about him.
19:46You care about him so you bought him a baby girl?
19:48What about putting money in her account so he can drink milk?
19:50What are you talking about?
19:54Uriel needs to shut up.
19:56Stay out of this.
19:58You've never been there for him, Uriel.
20:00Where have you been for the last four years?
20:02Nowhere.
20:04You've never been there for them, so what are you going on about?
20:06The grandkids call her the fat lady.
20:08She needs to get washed,
20:10get cleaned, and find a fashion.
20:12Oh, sorry. Uriel's on the Jeremy Clarkson show.
20:14Shut up!
20:18Shut up! Don't tell me to shut up!
20:20Don't tell me to shut up!
20:22I'm scared of you!
20:24What are you going to do?
20:26Don't tell me to shut up!
20:34Hi, guys. Welcome back before the break.
20:36Leon says, look, I was with Elise for six years.
20:38We planned, we talked about,
20:40we strategised on getting...
20:42That's the wrong word. Anyway, we created the baby.
20:44And then four months later, she dumped me.
20:46I feel like a sperm donor.
20:48I'm trying to work. It's very difficult.
20:50I'm trying to be motivated. It's very difficult.
20:52I want to see my kid. I want to be...
20:54She says...
20:56She hasn't really given me that chance.
20:58You portray a very nice person.
21:00She says you're a bully.
21:02You slagged her off.
21:04You sat on your arse doing Xbox.
21:06You've never paid any money, and you're a disgrace.
21:08Just thought you should know that.
21:10APPLAUSE
21:18Hello.
21:20Talk to me.
21:26AUDIENCE GROANS
21:28Are you still in love with him?
21:30Why are you here, babe?
21:32Cos he didn't do nothing for me in Letland.
21:36I did everything. I cleaned.
21:38I did pretty much everything.
21:40I've set up a contact centre. He didn't show up.
21:42You planned the baby, he says,
21:44and then just left him. Why?
21:46No, we planned the baby,
21:48and I gave him the chance to step up and that,
21:50and then he didn't step up.
21:52Why are you here today, my darling?
21:54He says he wants 50.
21:56I want to give him another chance to have contact,
21:58but if he's not going to turn up to the contact centres,
22:00then there's nothing else I can do.
22:02He lacks motivation? Yeah.
22:04Why? Why do you lack motivation?
22:06Come on. I don't feel like I do, to be honest.
22:08I'm here today. I've been getting that contact.
22:10How old's the child? Ten months.
22:12I don't want to leave until I've got it, either.
22:14I want this, like...
22:16I love this son of a bitch, you know.
22:18Cos he can't go without me.
22:20I set up a contact centre,
22:22and you didn't show up the first time or last Saturday.
22:24What's your problem with him, Elise? Help me out.
22:26I haven't got a problem with him.
22:28He just needs to step up and be a dad.
22:30You're in love with him still.
22:32You haven't given me the chance to be a dad.
22:34You're in love with him still. Of course you are.
22:36It won't be that far.
22:38Why are you not providing for this kid?
22:40How do you think this kid's living?
22:42Has he given you money?
22:44You just spend money on your nails and stuff like that,
22:46like you always do.
22:48I've had no money off you to go towards our son,
22:50even if it goes to his bank or his milk.
22:52If I give you money, you just spend your money on...
22:54No, I don't.
22:56Our son gets everything, my money goes...
22:58So who plays for your child, then?
23:00Who does it? Who provides? The state, yeah?
23:02Obviously she provides, but...
23:04She does and I do and everybody that goes to work.
23:06We're back there again.
23:08I have a baby girl up there.
23:10Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying, mate.
23:12I've got a baby girl up there
23:14that I'm ready to bring on the show.
23:16You've got a baby girl?
23:18What for? A party? Fancy dress?
23:20What are you talking about?
23:22I ask babies' clothes. I want some in the audience.
23:24Where? Why? Where is it?
23:26I'll go get it, yeah?
23:28I patently do...
23:30I do honestly live in a different planet.
23:32I haven't got a job, I haven't provided for my baby,
23:34but I've got a baby girl in the pod.
23:36It's going to turn out
23:38to be one of those people that goes to a fancy dress party...
23:40I bought one of this.
23:42That's for Lachlan. What?
23:44I bought this for Lachlan cos I care about him.
23:46You care about him so you bought him a baby girl?
23:48What about putting money in her account so he can drink milk?
23:50What are you talking about?
23:52Cos she'll spend the money on herself and buy nails.
23:54Cos she'll spend the money on herself and buy nails
23:56and buy all Lachlan.
23:58You won't give her money because she'd spend it on herself.
24:00Are you going to respond to that?
24:02I cannot spend it on myself.
24:04What about the other week when he was on the London Eye?
24:06How did you pay for that?
24:08I saved my own money for that and our son had everything that he wanted.
24:10I was going to offer you a chance to prove that you could be somebody.
24:12I want to be somebody. I want my son.
24:14He's my son.
24:16What are you going to do then?
24:18You won't give her money because she'll have her nails done?
24:20What is wrong with you people?
24:22I've been buying him clothes.
24:24It's not just about clothes.
24:26I've said to you anything you want me to get, I'll get it
24:28but you won't let me see him at all.
24:30I saw the contact centre.
24:32I got the wrong bus.
24:38Then I got a taxi
24:40then I got to the contact centre
24:42five minutes late. You didn't give me the time of day.
24:44You got to your modelling, didn't you?
24:46The most unlikely
24:48bloody male model in the world.
24:50Then you couldn't get to the motor...
24:52What is wrong with you?
24:54Why don't you shut your mouth
24:56and open your damn ears?
24:58Get a job and be responsible.
25:00I'm trying to get a job
25:02but it's hard.
25:04You don't know how hard it is to get a job.
25:06How would you like it if you couldn't see your child?
25:08I wouldn't have allowed it to happen.
25:10I wouldn't have had a kid until I could provide for it
25:12and I wouldn't be sat here.
25:14I'd have been in court if I was denied access.
25:16So don't even have a go at me.
25:18Don't even have a go at me.
25:20You know the thing is
25:22you're one of those people who talks and doesn't listen.
25:24I want...
25:26He's my son.
25:28I've got this amazing new concept
25:30a Jeremy Carr motivational boot camp
25:32somewhere where you can go and learn
25:34to get your head out of your backside
25:36but you're...
25:38I'm here.
25:40Brian, will you please come in?
25:43So what do you say?
25:45I really want to see my son.
25:47He's my son but two hours at a fortnight is not enough.
25:50Brian, I need some help.
25:52What else do you need other than contact with your son?
25:54Obviously I need to be there for my son.
25:57I need to provide for him.
26:00Okay, so what you're saying is
26:02you would like to provide for him.
26:04I am providing for him now.
26:06I'm buying him clothes.
26:08Okay.
26:10What about you? What do you want from life?
26:12Other than contact with your son,
26:14what do you want from life?
26:16I want my son to grow up knowing that he's got a good dad.
26:18I want to be that good dad for him.
26:20Okay. What about a job?
26:22We're talking about role models.
26:24Obviously a job as well.
26:26Obviously bringing the money in to buy him the good things that he needs.
26:28We're going to offer you the opportunity
26:30to go to a motivation and employment boot camp.
26:32Right.
26:34What that means is that you'll be offered the opportunity
26:37to join other guys on this camp.
26:40This is about how you can improve your own life
26:43in order to encourage that contact more often.
26:48And be a role model.
26:50APPLAUSE
26:52Are you going to go on this?
26:56Yeah, definitely. I'll be there.
26:59It's from today, five days.
27:01Yeah, I'll do it, yeah.
27:03By the way, there's more to being a dad than that stupid baby grow.
27:06Just so you're aware.
27:08I don't know why I brought it up.
27:10This is proof of me... It's not proof at all.
27:12So this is really important to you
27:14because you don't know why you're not getting that job, okay?
27:17So it's important for you to have the right skills
27:20when you go to that job interview.
27:22That's massively important.
27:24I just never get anything back.
27:26So we need to look at that, we need to identify...
27:28You know, we can do that, we can look at that.
27:30Yeah, we can.
27:32We can identify what the problems are, okay?
27:34And then prepare you better for that job interview.
27:37Could I just say, I've known you 12 years,
27:39I absolutely am in awe of you.
27:41And I mean, shall I tell you why I'm in awe of you?
27:43Because you are the most decent, caring, wonderful man,
27:46and I love you.
27:48You know what? The truth is...
27:50The truth is, he has worked his bits off to put this together,
27:54as he believes there are a group of young men,
27:57you and Jordan would be examples, who need motivating.
28:00I sort of think you need a slap round the head.
28:03I'm not being horrible, right?
28:05Please just don't speak, because I want to stay awake.
28:08Don't speak.
28:10He sees good in everybody and is an amazing human being.
28:13And if you and Jordan want to do anything with your lives,
28:17ignore cantankerous old Jeremy,
28:19go with this man and achieve something.
28:22Seriously, because he is the man.
28:24Can I get his contact number?
28:26Yes, we'll do that.
28:28CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
28:34If he is a role model and works,
28:37will we be able to sort out access?
28:39Yeah. Elise, thank you for coming on.
28:41I don't quite know why you were ever with him, but there you go.
28:44Give him a round of applause. Thank you, darling.
28:46CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
28:49Well, our next guest today, Anita, is back on this show.
28:52She's utterly desperate to tell daughter Crystal's lazy,
28:55deadbeat dad, Stuart, that even though he agreed to contact
28:58with her grandkids, he needs to prove that he can change
29:01his mind for him because he's useless.
29:03She says, is his mum Muriel's even worse?
29:05Anita's back on the show. Give her a round of applause.
29:08CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
29:15Hello. Hello. I'm slightly confused.
29:17We sorted out a contact centre for Stuart to go and see
29:21Crystal, your daughter's baby. Why are you back?
29:24Because he hasn't stepped up or nothing.
29:27As soon as we left the show, he texts my phone telling me
29:31to delete his number.
29:33To delete his number off my phone.
29:35He told my team, actually, the truth of the matter is,
29:38he ain't any good, he's a deadbeat dad.
29:40I don't think he'll step up, he's a useless deadbeat.
29:43CHEERING
29:45But you say, he needs to kick out the backside, he ain't got a job,
29:48he needs to step up, but the truth is, it's his mum's fault.
29:51That's my fault!
29:53Muriel needs to shut up, stay out of this, get washed.
29:56You've never been there for her, Muriel.
29:58Where have you been for the last four years?
30:01Nowhere. You've never been there for them,
30:03so what are you going on about?
30:05The grandkids call her the fat lady, she needs to get washed,
30:08get cleaned and find a fashion...
30:10Oh, sorry, Muriel's on the Jeremy Cowell show.
30:13CHEERING
30:20Call me, Mum.
30:22Phone me, text me.
30:24We're not on about the past, we're nothing to do with the past.
30:27So why last week did you come all out going,
30:29where have you been, where have you been?
30:31Nothing to do with the past.
30:33Why did you bring into it, then?
30:35Why did you bring into it?
30:37My son, my grandkid...
30:39Who you admit is a waste of damn space,
30:41so why don't you do something about kicking him out the backside?
30:45Give him a break!
30:47Give him a break!
30:49He's done everything you've asked him to.
30:51Shut up, I'm speaking.
30:54Don't tell me to shut up!
30:56What are you going to do?
30:58All you are is that.
31:00All you've been is that.
31:02Where have you been for them kids?
31:04No, London!
31:06You've only been there...
31:08What did you get them for Christmas?
31:10Birthdays you only find in cards.
31:12You don't put no money into nothing.
31:14Why are you always being mean to it?
31:16It's not about me.
31:18Because you're here.
31:20I didn't want to be here.
31:22Your son is...
31:24All right, well, sit down.
31:26Your son hasn't done enough, has he?
31:28He admitted that last time.
31:30Sod it, let's get him out. Stuart's on the Jeremy Carl show.
31:41I've got all I wanted.
31:43My contact centre, my private stuff, all sorted.
31:46Yeah, OK, I haven't done much.
31:48But I want you to leave my number
31:50because I'm going to the contact centre.
31:52Why haven't you done enough?
31:54It doesn't matter at the end of the day.
31:56You should be there 24-7 for your kids!
31:59I know that!
32:01I mean, Crystal Nyroy,
32:03through all this, she's really getting depressed.
32:06I'm getting her out as well.
32:08I'm depressed and I'm running the show.
32:10Crystal's your daughter and she's coming out with her current partner, Carl.
32:13Crystal and Carl, give them a round of applause.
32:21Come on, explain yourself, where's the money at?
32:23Oh, I'll sort that out soon.
32:25No, the money's been spent on a van.
32:27You've got money to buy a van.
32:29With the van, that's different.
32:31I swapped my car for the van.
32:33That's my personal stuff.
32:35Nothing to do with you.
32:37My member of family would not swap a van for a Clio.
32:39Well, he has.
32:41Have you given any money for the kids?
32:43Samuel, come on, wake up!
32:45Why the hell not?
32:47Now you've gone quiet!
32:49He's been there more than you have for the last four months.
32:52Hang on, no!
32:54Oh, he wakes up!
32:56Why don't you direct it at him?
32:58Answer the question!
33:00Hey, direct it at him!
33:02Oh, you haven't told him!
33:04Why you haven't told him anything?
33:06Are you working?
33:08No, I'm going self-employed through the job centre.
33:11What?
33:13I'm going self-employed, I've done my business.
33:15Sit down!
33:17Because you are!
33:19And you're on benefits and you're minding about me for it.
33:21Yeah, but he's going self-employed.
33:23I'm going self-employed, thank you.
33:25For your kids.
33:27You're on a bad thingy, Bob.
33:29Carl, you're on a bad thingy.
33:31Talk to your own son!
33:33Wait a minute, you're on a bad thingy.
33:35You want him to pay the kids.
33:37He wants to do his own business, like you.
33:40So he can give the kids money.
33:43When?
33:45When?
33:47Next week, next month, next year?
33:49I'll sort something out.
33:51What next week, what do you get?
33:53You get your money.
33:55So if you've got four kids,
33:57why haven't you been paying for them in the past however many years?
33:59I have paid for them in the past.
34:01When was the last time you gave us some money?
34:03May.
34:05May?
34:07Do you accept that you could have...
34:09Your mother comes out and has a go and eat and all that,
34:11but we haven't actually touched upon what matters here.
34:13You could have done more.
34:15Yeah, I could have done more.
34:17How are you going to provide for these children?
34:19Looking for work.
34:21Looking for work?
34:23Yeah.
34:25And it's difficult?
34:27At the moment, yeah.
34:29Why do you think it's difficult?
34:31I could do more going out looking for work.
34:33If you hear that in a calm way, as a mother,
34:35that's not good enough.
34:37No, it's not good enough.
34:39That's not good enough.
34:41You're the ones who need feeding.
34:43You're no better, though. You haven't got a job.
34:45No, but I'm going to...
34:47Yeah, everybody's going...
34:49Sorry.
34:51Everybody's going to.
34:53How do you provide for her and the kids, then?
34:55You haven't got a job either, have you?
34:57No.
34:59You might not know about it, but...
35:01It isn't a game, it's life.
35:03I'm just moaning about you not stepping up to your children.
35:05I'm going to create something extraordinary here.
35:07Ha! Ha!
35:09So I've set up the Jeremy Carl Boot Camp,
35:13which is motivational and physical and psychological
35:17to help prepare you to be better in terms of jobs.
35:20So you'll be up at 5am every morning,
35:22there's the physical side, but it's five days.
35:24But there's also CV writing and training and stuff
35:26to get you into a mindset where you're a better prospect.
35:30And I was going to offer you that.
35:32It's five days leaving here today free of charge.
35:34Big Steve will be there, Graham will be there,
35:36I'll be there, it'll be fantastic.
35:38You want to get a job and motivate people, don't you?
35:40And be there for your kids. Yeah.
35:42Really? Cos I don't think you'd turn up, see,
35:44I think you'd stay in bed. Why are you not looking at me?
35:46No, I'm up for it.
35:48And you have to leave... Your mum didn't know that.
35:50You have to leave right now. Yeah, I'm up for it.
35:52But do you want the real killer? Cos my brain works in strange ways.
35:54I'm offering it to you as well.
35:56So you two...
35:58APPLAUSE
36:00..love rivals.
36:02How are you doing?
36:04Five days leaving here today.
36:06Would you go on a boot camp with him?
36:08I'd love to, yeah.
36:10Would you go on a boot camp with him?
36:12Oh, whatever it takes.
36:14Would you? Brilliant.
36:16Come here, come here, come here.
36:18APPLAUSE
36:20Say goodbye. I'm going to say goodbye to Mummy,
36:22say goodbye to your girlfriend, go and give them a kiss.
36:24We're going five days. Which day am I going?
36:26Which day am I going? Which day am I going?
36:28Five days. Come on, that's it. Give him a round of applause.
36:30APPLAUSE
36:32Seriously, come on.
36:34Right, where are we?
36:40Are you going?
36:42To the boot camp?
36:44You want to go home?
36:46Sod you, then. Do you want to go on the boot camp?
36:48Brilliant. Do you want to go on the boot camp?
36:50I love you two. I didn't think I would.
36:52Where's the other one? Where's the other one?
36:54Come with me.
36:56So you don't want to go, Jordan, no?
36:58Cos I ain't begging you, mate. I've got better things to do.
37:00You don't want to go, no?
37:02You don't want to go to the boot camp and get a job?
37:04You're not motivated, no?
37:06Well, I can get a job, so...
37:08Right, good luck, mate. You're not getting my help, ever.
37:10You two, come here.
37:12Actually, I like the fact that you two agree to this.
37:14This is good. Where's the other one?
37:16Where's Leon?
37:18Leon, are you up for this?
37:20Yeah, definitely. Really, right from now, yeah?
37:22Yeah, definitely. Good man.
37:24This is interesting.
37:26This is Stuart. This is Carl.
37:28They're sort of love rivals, but there you go.
37:30And that's three of you. Where's Graham?
37:32Graham, get here. You've got three.
37:34Now, I have my cynics, cynical things,
37:36and I think, you know, but here's the thing.
37:38I promise you this will be a chance
37:40to be in a much better position to get a job
37:42and be motivated, all three of you.
37:44I will catch up with you, OK?
37:46I will come and make sure that you're doing what you're doing.
37:48He is in charge. Are we doing this?
37:50Yeah, definitely. Are we doing this?
37:52Definitely. Are we doing this?
37:54Good. Good luck. Give him a round of applause.
37:56It's Graham's.
37:58So, join me after break and find out what happened
38:00when we sent those three to boot camp.
38:02We're right back.
38:04I ain't happy about this.
38:06I don't want to be in a room with him. I really don't.
38:08I've done this. You know, I haven't...
38:10I reckon he's only coming to make himself look good.
38:12I've been here since Thursday.
38:14It's come to actually prove to Crystal
38:16that I can do this for my kids.
38:18I was furious.
38:20I think I was thrown out
38:22at the last minute.
38:24F***ing hell, big time.
38:28Yeah.
38:36After the show was recorded,
38:38Kyle decided that he couldn't commit to boot camp,
38:40so Graham met up with him to find out why.
38:42So, Kyle, we'll turn the bus around.
38:44You're back here.
38:46Tell me why you don't want to go.
38:48Because I don't feel comfortable
38:50leaving my missus while she's heavily pregnant.
38:52OK, I understand that. I understand that.
38:54If there is another opportunity,
38:56I'll give you a call, OK?
38:58But at this moment in time, you just don't want to do it.
39:00No.
39:02Because of Kyle's decision
39:04not to attend the camp,
39:06there was a space available,
39:08so I invited one of our most infamous guests,
39:10Eamon.
39:12This started as a story
39:14about a 21-year-old kid
39:16who was put into care by his mother
39:18because she was in whatever sort of relationship.
39:20A mother who's had nine kids,
39:22all of whom are in care.
39:24You've got one chance,
39:26cos you know who the father is, don't you?
39:28Why are you not off that chair
39:30getting to your son to talk to him?
39:32Why are you sat here still blaming everybody but yourself?
39:34You've got a chance, haven't you?
39:36You've got a chance to say to that boy,
39:38I'll help you find all your daddies,
39:40but now you sit there with your grandmother
39:42blaming everybody else for your inability
39:44because of your promiscuousness
39:46to defend and look after
39:48the things that you create.
39:50I...
39:52didn't sleep with anybody else.
39:54Yeah, so...
39:56Are you serious?
39:58Are you seriously?
40:00I am.
40:02You're serious? All right, all right.
40:04So Julian's 1 billion percent my father, yeah?
40:06Well, there you go, he's not.
40:08So who else is it?
40:10How many more?
40:12You threw me out into the streets, yeah?
40:14You say you love me?
40:18The boys arrived that night in the knowledge
40:20that if they push to their limits,
40:22there will be no soft option.
40:24They'll be facing physical challenges,
40:26learning how to work as a team,
40:28plus they'll be having CV and employment workshops
40:30while Graham meets them individually
40:32to deal with their issues.
40:34Hi, guys, all right?
40:36Brought a friend along, Michael.
40:38That night, Greg from Critical Fitness Training,
40:40who's running the boot camp,
40:42invited ex-serviceman Michael Swain
40:44to share his inspirational story.
40:46In September 2009,
40:48I was about six to eight weeks
40:50into my tour when I was there,
40:52and we was going on to a foot patrol,
40:54so the front man picked a point
40:56where to cross this ditch,
40:58and when I landed, I hit an Infire's
41:00explosive device, an IED,
41:02which sent me six to eight feet in the air.
41:04It resulted in me losing both my legs
41:06and instantly knew I've lost them,
41:08and he lost my arm, and that's sort of where
41:10my rehab started, my new life begun.
41:12Everything I've just known, I've just lost everything.
41:14Do you know what I mean?
41:16I didn't know what to expect,
41:18didn't know what to do.
41:20Everything I've known and done my whole life,
41:22I joined at the age of 16 from school.
41:24I've lost everything, so life was starting again,
41:26and sort of every day, just give myself little tasks
41:28to get better at.
41:30Do you know what I mean?
41:32Like you're saying that you guys are unconfident in that,
41:34but I was giving myself tasks,
41:36and by doing myself little tasks and accomplishing my tasks,
41:38I was building confidence in myself,
41:40because we're all going to have weaknesses,
41:42but if you keep improving on them,
41:45Graham takes this opportunity to ask Eamon
41:47about his dreams of a military career.
41:49You haven't been employed for three and a half years.
41:51No.
41:53But in the last six months, you've been picking up temporary work
41:55and work with zero hours contracts.
41:57Yeah.
41:59You haven't investigated the possibility of going in the army,
42:01because people keep making these suggestions
42:03that you may not be suitable.
42:05So here's why I invited you here.
42:07The guy that's running it is called Greg,
42:09and he's also been in the army.
42:11He's the man that's going to give you
42:13all the professional advice you need.
42:15Right, the guys arrived late last night,
42:17got them in, settled, got them some food,
42:19and we've got a bit of a seven o'clock wake-up call
42:21for a fitness test.
42:23Let's go and have a look.
42:25It's day one, and Greg is pulling the boys
42:27through their paces with some basic fitness drills
42:29and wants to find out whether Eamon has what it takes
42:31to be a candidate to join the forces.
42:38So Eamon's done his fitness test.
42:40Conditioning-wise, if he's looking to join the forces
42:42and stuff, he will need a little bit of work.
42:44Motivation is a bit of an issue,
42:46but I feel doing exercise and keeping a regime like this off
42:50will motivate me to work and stay at it.
42:53It's proving a bit difficult for Leon.
42:58Leon, you all right?
42:59I'm always feeling sick, mate.
43:02It's time for some motivational team-building exercises
43:05to really push the boys harder than they've worked before.
43:08Gentlemen, you need to be in charge of your team,
43:11motivate, delegate.
43:13Three, two, and one, let's go!
43:16Get your team back!
43:18Good work, boys.
43:24The recruits need to look the part,
43:26so they're given haircuts to make sure they're presentable
43:28for any future job interviews.
43:34Back at the camp, the boys settle down for the evening,
43:36but Stuart needs to get something off his chest.
43:38When I came onto the show,
43:39I found out that my kids are calling Karl Dad.
43:41I'm not happy about it.
43:43At least I can say I've completed this course,
43:45but Karl hasn't. He chickened out.
43:48Well, guess what? Karl has had a change of heart
43:50and is now making his way to the boot camp
43:52for a face-to-face with Stuart.
43:54I ain't happy about this.
43:56I don't want to be in the room with him. I really don't.
43:58I've done this. I haven't f****d back down.
44:01I reckon he's only coming to make himself look good.
44:05Stuart, I think we need to clear the air.
44:07I've been here since Thursday
44:09to actually prove to Crystal that I can do this for my kids.
44:13I was fuming.
44:17Seeing Karl's throat now, at the last minute,
44:20f****d me off, big time.
44:22If Karl wants to come out here and talk to me,
44:24I'll see what he says.
44:26If I don't like what he says, I'm going to walk away.
44:28Whose idea was it for you to come down here tonight, truthfully?
44:31Me and her.
44:33You've come at the last minute.
44:36To be fair, I don't take this personally,
44:38but I don't think I can stay in the same room with you tonight,
44:41not being nasty or nothing.
44:43I just want to get it sorted so it's a quiet life for my children
44:46and your children also.
44:48That's why I've come tonight, to sort everything out.
44:50Right, that's it, OK? OK.
44:52Stuart accepted Karl's peace offering
44:54and the pair slept in the same room, resolving their differences.
45:00It's the final morning, and before I arrive on site,
45:03Greg's taking the group for one last team-building exercise.
45:06Come on, lads, get involved!
45:08Start thinking about the next part.
45:14The lads pull together and see that working as a team can have its rewards.
45:18Even Karl and Stuart seem to be motivating each other.
45:23I arrived at camp and wanted a quick catch-up with Graham
45:25before I met the lads.
45:27Gee, what have they been up to specifically over the last few days?
45:30They've had individual sessions with me
45:32in order to encourage them to move their lives forward.
45:36There was a motivational speaker as well, wasn't there?
45:38Motivational speaker was excellent.
45:40Michael Swain, absolutely excellent.
45:42Listen, this is just for people to start with,
45:44but it says something, doesn't it?
45:46Try and give these kids a chance.
45:48It's about supporting them, it's about encouraging them,
45:50it's about giving them hope for the future.
45:52Absolutely. Fantastic.
45:54Well, I can't wait to see them all suited and booted
45:56and see about the interview.
45:58It's a hard... What can I say?
46:00You all right? Yeah.
46:02Good morning. How are you?
46:04How are you?
46:06Gee, you were talking about, you know, motivation.
46:08That's the main thing, right?
46:10It is, really, you know, because there's...
46:12There are 600,000 of young adults between their...
46:16You know, within their age range... Yeah.
46:18..who are now unemployed in the United Kingdom.
46:21You know, it's tough out there trying to get a job.
46:24Now, listen, apart from motivation, there's obviously the interview side.
46:27Now, Joseph from Blue Inc. is a guy.
46:30Is he here? Joseph, how are you?
46:32Morning. Look at this man. He's dapper, isn't he?
46:34How are you, pal? Nice to meet you.
46:36Morning, guys.
46:38This man is going to change your lives as well.
46:40I hear that you guys have been working really hard
46:42on getting yourselves ready for interviews,
46:44so I've come along today and I've got outfits for all of you
46:46for your interviews, so I'm going to go through some tips with you
46:49to get yourselves ready for your interviews.
46:52Over the course of five days,
46:54they've had a CV masterclass from company CXK,
46:57they've done team building and fitness exercises,
47:00they've gained a first aid qualification with the Red Cross
47:03and have been inspired by Michael Swain's incredible story.
47:06Even Karl and Stuart seem to have put the past behind them.
47:11Greg, I know, has got some certificates.
47:13You've actually completed the course, all of you,
47:15which I'm massively proud of. What have you got there, pal?
47:17I've got a couple of certificates for the guys,
47:19so one for yourself, Eamon. Well done, young man.
47:23You've passed. Hey!
47:25Most improved, my man. Most improved.
47:28Pete, what's the matter with you?
47:30Well done, pal.
47:34You've passed. Well done. But you've got a recertificate in there.
47:37Well done, pal. Appreciate you coming.
47:42That, for me, was so interesting. I didn't know what to expect.
47:45Those guys, five days ago, were lacking motivation,
47:48lacking a lot in their lives.
47:50They've taken advantage. They've used it.
47:52If you look at them, not just visually, look in their eyes
47:55and you can see they look different now.
47:57I hope it's done something for them and they can move forward and get work.
48:00Thank you so much for watching. It's been an interesting day.
48:03We'll see you very soon. Take care. Bye for now.
48:20.
