00:00Good morning and welcome to a slightly strange weekend of weather, certainly for this summer
00:06because things are going to be fairly average.
00:09Certainly the temperatures won't be far from average and most places will be dry and bright
00:13with some decent smiles of sunshine.
00:15There's always one or two exceptions.
00:17It's not completely dry.
00:18There's a sprinkling of showers over northwest England, Northern Ireland and parts of western
00:22Scotland today, but they're fairly light and they should tend to zip through.
00:27Much of the day will be dry even here and certainly across the south and the east.
00:31Most places set fair through the day.
00:33Yes, some cloud will bubble up.
00:34It's not one of those days where it's just blue skies throughout, but some sunny spells
00:39and when the sun's out feeling pleasant enough with those pretty average temperatures.
00:44We could get to 24 maybe in and around the capital, a little cooler on some western coast
00:49temperatures more in the high teens here and it feels cooler in northwest Scotland because
00:53there is a fairly brisk wind.
00:55Bear that in mind if you're going up the mountains here, quite a significant wind chill
00:59on the high ground across Scotland and there will be further showers coming in here through
01:03the afternoon and into the evening, in fact, right through the night.
01:07One or two still going over northern England, but again, tending to zip through on a fairly
01:11brisk wind.
01:12For many, it's a dry night and a clear night and temperatures will again in some rural
01:17spots dip down to single digits.
01:19Towns and cities are mostly holding up at 12 to 14 Celsius and tomorrow is a pretty
01:26similar day.
01:27Again, it will be completely dry everywhere.
01:29There will be a few showers coming into western Scotland.
01:32So again, over the highlands, there'll be some showers zipping through on that brisk
01:36and chilly wind.
01:38Quite blustery across the far north of Scotland, but further south, the winds are pretty light
01:42and again, there'll be some cloud bubbling up, but many places seeing some lengthy spells
01:46of sunshine, which will lift those temperatures up into the low to maybe mid-twenties across
01:52the southeast.
01:53Again, western coast will be a little bit cooler than that, but generally a fine weekend
01:57for the vast majority with some good smiles of sunshine and most places will be dry.
