00:00Good morning. The weekend's here and if you're after some sunshine then tomorrow looks pretty good.
00:05Today there will be some sunshine but there will also be a fair few showers starting off quite wet over parts of
00:11northwest England and southern Scotland. And through the day we will see more showers developing, particularly over
00:17parts of Wales and northeast England. Some heavy downpours likely this morning, parts of the M6, not very pleasant,
00:24a lot of spray and surface water around and heavier showers developing through the morning, especially over Wales
00:30and the Midlands. Not as many showers today compared to yesterday for Scotland and Northern Ireland, not many again
00:36for East Anglia and the southeast. Most places here will stay dry and fine with some lengthy spirals of sunshine.
00:42But where we do see those showers they could be heavy, could even turn into thunderstorms in places and it will be a
00:48slightly cooler day as well. When the sun pops up it could still get up to 19, 20 Celsius.
00:53But the highest temperatures again across East Anglia and the southeast, 23, maybe 24 and also probably feeling a bit
00:58warmer across Scotland with Edinburgh getting up to 21 Celsius. Through this evening we may see a few more showers
01:05drifting across the Midlands, perhaps getting into East Anglia and the southeast. But generally, look at that, the
01:09showers fade away through this evening so most places becoming dry, certainly by midnight and then most of us having
01:15a dry and a fine day on Sunday. With the clear skies temperatures will fall away, light winds as well, maybe down to
01:23single figures in the countryside. But most towns and cities holding up in double digits. Sunday is a cracking day if you
01:29like it dry, warm and sunny. And we haven't seen too many days like that so far throughout this summer. There is the
01:37possibility of one or two showers across Shetland, a little breezy maybe over the Western Isles. But for most the
01:42winds are light, could see some sea breezes developing as we see lots of sunshine. Hazy in places with some high cloud
01:50around. But that temperature is responding to that sunshine and getting up into the 20s pretty much across the board.
01:57Main exception will be perhaps Shetland, but certainly further south into the mid 20s and perhaps even 26, 27 in and around
02:04the London area. Again, the coast will be a little bit cooler. UV levels, though, are going to be high. So don't forget the
02:12sunscreen this weekend and pollen levels will also be creeping up a little bit through this weekend. And temperatures will
02:18creep up further into next week as we could see some hotter weather, particularly across the south. For more info on that,
