00:01:28Along with the living legend, Larry Savisco, I'm Tony Schiavone.

00:01:33Boy, do we have a jam-packed two hours for you.

00:01:36As you can see, the fans are here in support of their favorite superstar

00:01:42in professional wrestling, and it's good to have you with us.

00:01:45We do, well, we do understand- Hey, hey, look at this.

00:01:48The members of the NWO have arrived.

00:01:51This is live out back at the Civic Center in Roanoke.

00:01:55It's not cool.

00:01:57I'm not saying it is.

00:01:58It's not the same as I thought it would be.

00:01:59The Macho Man, the coward.

00:02:01Macho Man, Kevin Nash, there's Scott Norton.

00:02:07Where's Hulk Hogan?

00:02:09Where's Eric Bischoff?

00:02:11And where is Scott Hall?

00:02:14You know, that's a good question.

00:02:15That's kind of an abbreviated group there, Larry.

00:02:17You know, you mentioned Scott Hall.

00:02:19I mean, the New World Order has a carte blanche to WCWE best after what happened

00:02:25at Uncensored.

00:02:26Scott Hall, Tony, he wasn't here last week.

00:02:29He wasn't here over the weekend, and I didn't see him come up tonight.

00:02:32What's the deal with Scott Hall?

00:02:34I don't know.

00:02:35Maybe there's problems with the NWO, or maybe, knowing the NWO,

00:02:39maybe there's gonna be some sort of sneak attack somewhere from the rafters or

00:02:44from behind.

00:02:47I know Scott Hall's afraid of me, but in the group,

00:02:50the New World Order feels safe like a bunch of pack rats.

00:02:58We have the Total Package Lex Luger and the Giant in tag team action.

00:03:06Rick Fuller and Roadblock will be their opponents in this event.

00:03:11There's the Total Package Lex Luger.

00:03:17the Women's World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.

00:03:20From Japan, Akira Hokuto is here, plus a return match from last week.

00:03:26Chris Benoit and Hugh Morris, members of the Dungeon of Doom,

00:03:31members of the Horsemen, they're all here.

00:03:33Like we said, Diamond Dallas Page is here, the Steiner Brothers.

00:03:36And you know, we said earlier, DDP was in action.

00:03:39And we saw the Macho Man and Miss Liz, that they're here as well, Larry.

00:03:44Well, again, everybody's here except Scott Hall, Holden, and Bischoff.

00:03:49Yeah, what is, you know, you're right.

00:03:50I don't know.

00:03:51I mean, we do understand that we don't wanna gossip any, but-

00:03:55No, no, we don't wanna be like Mike Timmy.

00:03:58That Scott Hall has been AWOL, if you know what I mean.

00:04:04Rick Fuller in there against the giant, the giant Lex Luger.

00:04:06Both men have been called on a tag team in WCW.

00:04:10And both men, who as we heard last week, realized the main event next Sunday, or

00:04:15actually I guess I should say this coming Sunday at Spring Stampede.

00:04:19Either one of these two men, if they get the pinfall, or

00:04:23the submission, could wind up with a shot at Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

00:04:27Well, let's hope that happens.

00:04:28You got a great combination there, almost a genetic beauty.

00:04:31And of course, The Beast.

00:04:33And together, Tony, these guys, in my book, are unbeatable.

00:04:37Luger left an opening there.

00:04:41I agree with that.

00:04:41But you know, let's take a look at what has transpired over the years in our sport.

00:04:46Luger has been the world champ.

00:04:48The Giant has been the world champ.

00:04:50Members of Harlem Heat, Booker T and Stevie Ray, they have not been.

00:04:55So maybe they're a little bit hungrier coming up in this quarter match this Sunday.

00:04:59Well, yeah, definitely Harlem Heat, they started off here a few years ago.

00:05:03The hungriest, most determined tag team.

00:05:06And we saw what it got them, the tag team championships.

00:05:08No doubt that both those individuals, the athletes that they are,

00:05:12are hungry for the most prestigious single title in the world.

00:05:17The Big Man Roadblock in against the Total Package Lex Luger.

00:05:21And here's a guy who, if he gets his way going,

00:05:24gets it behind him like that, can be devastating in the ring.

00:05:28Luger, he got nailed here.

00:05:30Snapmare takedown, and a big elbow drop.

00:05:35Luger trying to scurry to his corner.

00:05:37He's up in the wrong corner, though.

00:05:39Duck load, and Luger- Got him right smack in the face, Tony.

00:06:01Four of the greatest superstars in world championship wrestling will vie for

00:06:05a shot at Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

00:06:07A very unique match at the main event coming up this Sunday at Spring Stampede.

00:06:11Luger, Giant, Booker T, Stevie Ray, the one man against the pin.

00:06:16The one man who gets the submission hold, gets the win, and

00:06:19goes on to face Hollywood Hulk Hogan later this year for the World Title.

00:06:25One, two, got a two count.

00:06:28You know, I just had a bad thought in my mind, seeing the New World Order

00:06:33have to copy everything we do.

00:06:35I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan and Bischoff, maybe all,

00:06:38is hiding somewhere in the ring.

00:06:40Like Sting.

00:06:41You never know.

00:06:42Speaking of Sting, a very special look at Sting,

00:06:45a man who even though he's come back to the WCW side, very mysterious.

00:06:51And a man who we haven't really seen since we saw him a couple of weeks ago.

00:06:56Well, we haven't heard from him either.

00:06:58I mean, at least he can speak his mind.

00:07:01I think he's letting that baseball bat speak his mind,

00:07:03if you know what I mean, and that scorpion death drop.

00:07:07Definitely saying something, but still not clear.

00:07:12Here's the big man.

00:07:13Boy, if he'd have connected, that could have been the end of the match.

00:07:16Luger's still paying for that big mistake he made earlier.

00:07:19Tag teams, you've got to make a lot of tags.

00:07:21This time Luger, he sees the giant, he's got to get the tag in.

00:07:26Luger has a long way to go, but, my goodness, he wasted no time.

00:07:54The giant, as big and bad as he is, he cannot take on two men here,

00:11:23Mike knows that the Giant is no long, tall drink of water.

00:11:27Absolutely not.

00:11:28Yeah, for crying out loud.

00:11:30He's the largest athlete in professional sports.

00:11:34Miko Satomura- Thank you, Mike.

00:11:36Is making her way out here.

00:11:38Mike has joined us because we are beginning a tournament for

00:11:42a brand new title in WCW, Mike.

00:11:45Yeah, Tony, it's the WCW Women's Cruiserweight title.

00:11:48This matchup, first round action involving Miko Satomura.

00:11:52Her opponent is Toshie Oematsu.

00:11:56And we will have another first round Women's Cruiserweight Tournament matchup

00:12:01this weekend on TBS involving Kato against Malaya Hosaka.

00:12:06You know, the Men's Cruiserweight division here in World Championship Wrestling

00:12:14has set an awfully high standard.

00:12:16We're going to find out if the women can match their success.

00:12:20Well, we have seen some great things out of the Women's Heavyweight division.

00:12:25And there's a good look at Oematsu.

00:12:30And there's the Ladies' Cruiserweight belt.

00:12:31Mickey J, the referee, holding it up.

00:12:35The Men's Cruiserweight weight limit set at 230 pounds and

00:12:39the Women's at 130 pounds.

00:12:41Whoa, drop kick right off the belt from Oematsu.

00:12:45Of course, Akira Hokuto, also of Japan,

00:12:47in possession of the Women's Heavyweight title in World Championship Wrestling.

00:12:52A title that she will defend here tonight, and

00:12:54the winner will go on to Spring Stampede to meet Medusa.

00:13:02It is such an incredibly tough training regiment that the Japanese women

00:13:05wrestlers must complete before they become pros.

00:13:08Thousands try out each year, and just a handful make the grade.

00:13:12Now, we got the same thing at the power plant.

00:13:13There's a million wannabes and only one survivor.

00:13:17Well, you know- Which one's the one in the green?

00:13:20That is Oematsu.

00:13:22Okay, now we're getting somewhere.

00:13:25And Satomura loves to call out and look out to the fans here.

00:13:52have with New Japan Pro Wrestling for the Men.

00:14:35She is 20 years of age, and Oematsu down on the mat is 23.

00:14:39Yeah, they do start at a very young age.

00:14:42The ladies in Japan, how about that?

00:14:44An arm drag over the top rope.

00:14:46And the open hand head slap prior to that,

00:14:48that apparently knocked the equilibrium off Satomura.

00:14:52Up on top now, Oematsu, just wasting time.

00:15:01That's a big win for her.

00:15:13to crown the very first ladies cruiserweight champion

00:15:17in world championship wrestling.

00:15:27She's headed to the championship round of the cruiserweight title tournament.

00:16:09and now some great wrestlers, some cruiserweights, if you will, from Mexico.

00:16:15This should be a very interesting matchup involving Psychosis and Fiano Moore.

00:16:20Psychosis has been so impressive in those memorable high-flying battles,

00:16:24those aerial wars that he's had with Rey Mysterio Jr.,

00:16:28both here in the United States as well as down in Mexico.

00:16:32He's nine years of age, despite being just 26 years of age.

00:16:36Born and trained in Tijuana, of course, trained in the same school with Tony and

00:16:40Rey Mysterio Jr., and been a long-time rival of Rey Jr. through the years.

00:16:48It is great to be in Roanoke, Virginia, Tony.

00:16:51It really is, Mike.

00:16:51I know so many fond memories that you have of this area in general, and

00:16:55even this arena in particular.

00:16:57Great wrestling events were held right here.

00:17:00And as you can see, fans in here, from the response that we have received,

00:17:05as Fiano Moore makes his way in, these fans in this part of the country are rabid

00:17:10for world championship wrestling.

00:17:14Fiano Moore, the opponent for Psychosis.

00:17:17Well, he's among the most experienced of the Mexican luchadores.

00:17:20And yes, they are luchadores, not matadors.

00:17:23The name is derived from lucha libre, Mexican pro wrestling.

00:17:26Like so many of the Mexican wrestlers, a second-generation performer,

00:17:31Fiano Moore from a famous wrestling family in Mexico.

00:17:34Tumbling through Fiano, back somersault.

00:17:38How about that?

00:17:39Hip up in a full-on dragon twist and sent him over.

00:17:43Looks like we've got a contradiction of styles here.

00:17:45I know Psychosis likes to fly, but it looks like Fiano Moore,

00:17:49he's gonna play that mat game, which is smart.

00:17:52I mean, don't go taking those risks if you don't have to.

00:17:56Very experienced mat technician in Fiano Moore, and you're right.

00:17:59If he has a chance to be successful against the high-flying Psychosis,

00:18:03he's gonna need to keep him grounded down on the mat.

00:31:31He wanted to make an example of him, an example that he did make.

00:31:35This was after Diamond Dallas had hit the ring and was attacked.

00:31:38They spray painted the youngster with the letters the NWO.

00:31:42And maybe they put him out, and maybe they marked him,

00:31:45but they did not defeat the man.

00:31:47Prince Iakea is still the World TV Champion.

00:31:50Yeah, that was a very pompous thing Savage did, pulled him up.
