00:00The name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace of our
00:19Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
00:24Dear brothers and sisters, today it is the great joy of the entire church, and therefore joy for
00:32you and I, to celebrate the great solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into
00:38heaven. At the end of her earthly life, by God's wonderful grace, she was assumed body and soul
00:45into that heavenly kingdom, that heavenly realm where God reigns, and where she, body and soul,
00:52is a sign for us of the wonderful future that God has in store for us in the resurrection of
01:00the body. And so today, dear friends, I ask you to join me in offering this Mass, in praying for
01:07peace in the Holy Land. A few days ago, we read the letter from Cardinal Pete Zabala of the Holy
01:12Land, asking that this day also be commemorated with prayer for peace in those troubled places.
01:20But of course, we also pray for your intentions, you who will be participating in this online Mass.
01:26And so, dear brothers and sisters, as we begin this celebration, let us acknowledge our sins,
01:32and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
01:36Lord Jesus, you are a mighty God and Prince of Peace. Lord, have mercy. You are Son of God,
01:49and the Son of Mary. Christ, have mercy. You are the Word made flesh, the splendor of the Father.
01:57Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to
02:06everlasting life. Amen. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
02:14We praise you. We bless you. We adore you. We glorify you. We give you thanks for your
02:21great glory. Lord God, Heavenly King, O God, Almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ,
02:29only begotten Son. Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father. You take away the sins of the world,
02:36have mercy on us. You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You are seated at the
02:43right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One. You alone are the Lord.
02:50You alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
02:58Let us pray. Almighty ever-living God, who assumed the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
03:06the mother of your Son, body and soul into heavenly glory, grant, we pray,
03:12that always attentive to the things that are above, we may merit to be sharers of her glory,
03:19through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
03:23in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
03:33A reading from the Book of the Apocalypse.
03:36The sanctuary of God in heaven opened, and the Ark of the Covenant could be seen inside it.
03:43Now a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman adorned with the sun, standing on the moon,
03:50and with the twelve stars on her head for a crown. She was pregnant, and in labor, crying aloud in
03:56the pangs of childbirth. Then a second sign appeared in the sky, a huge red dragon, which
04:04had seven heads and ten horns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet.
04:11It still dragged a third of the stars from the sky and dropped them to the earth, and the dragon
04:17stopped in front of the woman as she was having the child, so that he could eat it as soon as it
04:23was born from its mother. The woman brought a male child into the world, the son, who was to rule all
04:30the nations with an iron scepter, and the child was taken straight up to God and to his throne,
04:37while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had made a place of safety ready.
04:44Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, Victory and power and empire forever
04:50have been won by our God, and all authority for his Christ. The word of the Lord.
05:00The queen stands at your right hand arrayed in gold. The queen stands at your right hand arrayed
05:07in gold. The daughters of kings are among your loved ones. On your right stands the queen in
05:13gold of Ophir. Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words. Forget your own people and your father's
05:20house. The queen stands at your right hand arrayed in gold. So will the king desire your beauty.
05:28He is your lord. Pay homage to him. They are escorted amid gladness and joy. They pass
05:34within the palace of the king. The queen stands at your right hand arrayed in gold.
05:45A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
05:49Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of all who have fallen asleep.
05:54Death came through one man, and in the same way the resurrection of the dead has come through one
06:00man. Just as all men die in Adam, so all men will be brought to life in Christ, but all of them in
06:07their proper order. Christ as the firstfruits, and then after the coming of Christ, those who
06:14belong to him. After that will come the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father,
06:22having done away with every sovereignty, authority, and power. For he must be king
06:28until he has put all his enemies under his feet, and the last of the enemies to be destroyed is
06:35death, for everything is to be put under his feet. The word of the Lord.
06:42The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
06:51Mary set out and went as quickly as she could to a town in the hill country of Jerusalem.
06:58She was not far from the city of Jerusalem, but she was not far from the city of Jerusalem.
07:05Mary set out and went as quickly as she could to a town in the hill country of Judah.
07:12She went into Zechariah's house and greeted Elizabeth. Now as soon as Elizabeth heard
07:18Mary's greeting, the child left in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
07:25She gave a loud cry and said, Of all women, you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit
07:32of your womb. Why should I be honored with a visit from the mother of my Lord?
07:38For the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy.
07:44Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.
07:50And Mary said, My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit exalts in God my Savior,
07:58because he has looked upon his lowly handmaid. Yes, from this day forward all generations will
08:05call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name, and his mercy
08:13reaches from age to age for those who fear him. He has shown the power of his arm. He has routed
08:19the proud of heart. He has pulled down princes from their thrones and exalted the lowly.
08:26The hungry he has filled with good things, the rich sent empty away. He has come to the help
08:32of Israel his servant, mindful of his mercy, according to the promise he made to our ancestors,
08:39of his mercy to Abraham and to his descendants forever.
08:45Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months, and then went back home.
08:50The Gospel of the Lord
08:58I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ,
09:04his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
09:10suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell.
09:17On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the
09:23right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
09:29I believe in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints,
09:35the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
10:46Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
11:06May this oblation, our tribute of homage, rise up to you, O Lord,
11:11and through the intercession of the most blessed Virgin Mary, whom you assumed into
11:16heaven. May our hearts, aflame with the fire of love, constantly long for you, through Christ,
11:24our Lord. The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
11:34It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you
11:40thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. For today, the
11:46Virgin Mother of God was assumed into heaven as the beginning and image of your Church's
11:52coming to perfection, and a sign of sure hope and comfort to your pilgrim people.
12:00Rightly you would not allow her to see the corruption of the tomb, since from her own body
12:05she marvelously brought forth your incarnate Son, the author of all life. And so, in company with
12:12the choirs of angels, we praise you, and with joy we proclaim, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
12:21heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
12:25Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
12:36You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your
12:44spirits upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord
12:51Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread
12:59and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
13:04Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
13:29Amen.
13:44In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice,
13:48and once more, giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
13:53Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
14:01which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
14:22Amen.
14:42The mystery of faith. We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you
14:49come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer
14:54you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us
15:00worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and
15:06blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread
15:13throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis, our Pope, and
15:19Charles, our Bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen
15:25asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the
15:31light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
15:39with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the Blessed Apostles, and all the saints
15:43who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life,
15:48and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
15:56Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
16:02all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen.
16:14At the Savior's command, and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
16:18Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
16:24thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
16:31our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
16:38deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our
16:45days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin, and safe from all distress,
16:52as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom,
16:58the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
17:03Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church,
17:10and graciously grant her peace and unity, in accordance with your will, who live and reign
17:15forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always. Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
17:23Peace be with you.
17:28Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
17:40Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
17:45Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
17:58Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
18:20Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
18:24Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should
18:30enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
18:39My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
18:44I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
18:48Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
18:54I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
19:00Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
19:04All generations will call me blessed, for he who is mighty has done great things for me. Let us pray.
19:12Having received the sacrament of salvation, we ask you to grant, O Lord,
19:16that through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom you assumed into heaven,
19:22we may be brought to the glory of the resurrection through Christ our Lord.
19:27Dear friends, thank you for your prayerful company today. I hope that wherever you are and whenever
19:32you'll be able to participate in this online mass, you'll also be able to join your prayers to ours
19:39and feel the closeness of us and God's people to you and your intentions. I invite you to look at
19:46the comments section of this video and to look at other prayer intentions there,
19:50and so we continue to pray for one another. The Lord be with you. Bow down for the blessing.
19:59May God, who through the childbearing of the Blessed Virgin Mary, willed in his great
20:04kindness to redeem the human race, be pleased to enrich you with his blessing. Amen.
20:11May you know always and everywhere the protection of her, through whom you have been found worthy
20:16to receive the author of life. Amen. May you, who have devoutly gathered on this day,
20:23carry away with you the gifts of spiritual joys and heavenly rewards. Amen. And may the blessing
20:30of Almighty God, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit come down on you and remain with you
20:37forever. Amen. Let us go and announce the gospel of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
