00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:21Today is the feast of Popes and Pius X. He is the one who made it possible for children
00:28to receive communion at an early age, and increased and encouraged frequent communion.
00:37We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:41Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.
00:48May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and
00:54light everlasting.
00:55O God, who the sacred Vatican faith and the restoral of things in Christ, filled Popes
01:02and Pius X with heavenly wisdom and apostolic fortitude, graciously granted, following his
01:08teaching and example, we may gain an eternal prize, through our Lord Jesus Christ your
01:14Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and
01:19ever.
01:20Amen.
01:24A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians.
01:29It was God who gave us the courage to proclaim his good news to you, in the face of great
01:36opposition.
01:37We have not taken to preaching because we are deluded, or immoral, or trying to deceive
01:45anyone.
01:46It was God who decided that we were fit to be entrusted with the good news, and when
01:52we are speaking, we are not trying to please people, but God, who can read our remotest
02:00thoughts.
02:01We know very well, and we can swear it before God, that never at any time have our speeches
02:08been simple flattery, or a cover of trying to get money, nor have we ever looked for
02:14any special honor from people, either from you or anybody else, when we could have imposed
02:21ourselves on you with full weight as apostles of Christ.
02:26Instead, we are unassuming, like a mother feeding and looking after her own children.
02:32We felt so devoted and protective towards you, and had come to love you so much that
02:39we were eager to hand over to you not only the good news, but our whole lives as well.
02:50Thus the word of the Lord.
02:52Thanks be to God.
02:54Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
02:58Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
03:01I will sing forever of your love, O Lord.
03:04Through all ages my mouth will proclaim your truth.
03:07Of this I am sure that your love lasts forever, and your truth is firmly established in the
03:12heavens.
03:14Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
03:17I have made a covenant with you, my chosen one.
03:21I have sworn to David, my servant.
03:24I will establish your dynasty forever, and set your throne for all ages.
03:30Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
03:33I have found David my servant, and with my holy oil anointed him, my hand shall always
03:39be with him, and my arm shall make him strong.
03:43Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
03:46My truth and my love shall be with him.
03:49By my name his might shall be exalted.
03:53He will say to me, You are my Father, my God, the Rock who saves me.
03:58Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
04:04Alleluia, Alleluia, I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord.
04:07I know my sheep, and they know me.
04:09Alleluia.
04:14The Lord be with you.
04:17A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:20Glory to you, O Lord.
04:22Jesus showed himself to his disciples, and after they had eaten, he said to Simon Peter,
04:28Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?
04:32He answered, Yes, Lord, you know I love you.
04:35Jesus said to him, Feed my lambs.
04:38A second time he said to him, Simon, son of John, do you love me?
04:42He replied, Yes, Lord, you know I love you.
04:45Jesus said to him, Look after my sheep.
04:48Then he said to him a third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me?
04:53Peter was upset that he had asked him a third time, Do you love me?
04:57He said, Lord, you know everything, you know I love you.
05:00Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.
05:06The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
05:09Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:15Jesus forgave Peter for denying him, accepted him, despite his human frailty, he loved him,
05:25and he still commissioned him.
05:28Today we celebrate the life of a Pope, each doing what they think is best.
05:34And yet, we are human beings with our own frailties and our own weaknesses, but God
05:41is bigger than all that.
05:44We all have our own frailties and weaknesses, but God never gives up on us.
05:51He loves us more than we can dream or imagine, and he commissions each one of us in our own
05:56different vocations to bear fruit, fruit of the good news, witnesses of God's love
06:04by our lives and relationships.
06:13Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this bread
06:18to offer, which earth has given you and hence have made.
06:22It will become for us the bread of life.
06:25Blessed be God forever.
06:45Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine
06:50to offer, fruit of divine work of human hands.
06:54It will become our spiritual drink.
06:58Blessed be God forever.
07:09Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
07:14our Almighty Father.
07:15May the Lord accept this sacrifice from our hands for the praise and glory of God's name,
07:21for our good and the good of God's holy Church.
07:24Receive with kindness our oblations of bravo and grant, O Lord, we pray, that following
07:31your teachings of hope sent by us, we may celebrate these divine mysteries with sincere
07:38reverence and receive them in a spirit of faith.
07:41Through Christ our Lord.
07:43Amen.
07:45Amen.
07:55The Lord be with you.
07:58Lift up your hearts.
08:00Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:02It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you
08:08thanks, Lord Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
08:12Through Christ our Lord.
08:14For as on the festival of St. Pius you bid your Church rejoice, so too you strengthen
08:21her by the example of his holy life.
08:24Teach her by his words of preaching and keep her safe in answer to his prayers.
08:30And so, with the company of angels and saints, we sing the hymn of your praise, as without
08:35end we acclaim, Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your
08:43glory, Hosanna in the highest.
08:46Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:49Hosanna in the highest.
08:55You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fountain, the font of all holiness.
08:59Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like
09:04did you for so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:11At the time he was betrayed and penned unwillingly into dispassion, he took a bread, and giving
09:18thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of
09:25it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:30In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more, giving thanks,
09:36he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this
09:42is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured
09:48out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
09:52Do this in memory of me.
09:55The mystery of faith.
09:58We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection, until you come again.
10:09Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you,
10:14Lord, the bread of life, the bread of life, the bread of life, the bread of life, the
10:19bread of life, the bread of life.
10:22As we celebrate your resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice
10:26of salvation, giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister
10:32to you.
10:33Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered together
10:42into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:45Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of
10:50charity, together with Francis, our Pope, Miriam, our Worker's Servant, Eugene, our
10:55Emeritus Bishop, and all the Church.
10:58Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:06and all who have died in your mercy.
11:09Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:12Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed
11:17Joseph, and Spouse, with the Blessed Apostles and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout
11:23the ages, we may, through your grace, merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise
11:29and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:35Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy
11:40Spirit, all glory and honour is yours for ever and ever.
11:44Amen.
11:47At the Saviour's command, and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
11:52Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
11:56Thy kingdom come.
11:57Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:01Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
12:06trespass against us.
12:08And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:12Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:15Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always
12:20free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming
12:26of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
12:28For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever.
12:33Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look
12:39not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and
12:44unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign for ever and ever.
12:48Amen.
12:49In peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you always.
12:54Let us offer each other the sign of his peace.
12:57Peace be with you all.
13:00Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:06Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:12Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:17Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:36Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
13:40Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:44Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof.
13:47But only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
13:53My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
13:58I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:02Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:08I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
14:14Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:17Amen.
14:18Let us pray.
14:22Celebrating the memorial of Pope St. Pius, we pray, O Lord,
14:27our God, that by the power of this heavenly table we may be made constant in the faith
14:33and be of one accord in your love.
14:36Through Christ our Lord.
14:37Amen.
14:38The Lord be with you and may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
14:43and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
14:46Let us go and live the gospel.
14:49Thanks be to God.
14:50God bless your day.
