Transcript
00:00Today is the Feast of Saint Rose of Lima and consecrated herself to Christ and great love
00:23of her neighbor.
00:24In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:30We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:36Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, may Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
00:47and lead us into life everlasting.
00:50Let us pray.
00:51O God, who sent Saint Rose of Lima on fire with your love, so that, secluded from the
00:57world in the austerity of a life of penance, she might give herself to you alone.
01:03Grant, we pray, that through her intercession we may tread the paths of life on earth and
01:10drink at the stream of your delights in heaven.
01:13Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of
01:18the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
01:22Amen.
01:31A reading from the Sermon of St. Paul to the Corinthians.
01:35If anyone wants to boast that he boasts of the Lord, it is not the man who commends himself
01:43that can be accepted.
01:45But the man who is commended by the Lord.
01:49If only wish you were able to tolerate little foolishness from me, but of course you are
01:57tolerant towards me.
01:59You see, the jealousy that I feel for you is God's own jealousy.
02:05I arranged for you to marry Christ, so that I might give you away the chaste virgin to
02:13this one husband, the Word of the Lord.
02:18Thanks be to God.
02:20Young men and women, praise the name of the Lord.
02:24Young men and women, praise the name of the Lord.
02:28Praise the Lord from heavens, praise Him in hearts, praise Him all His angels, praise
02:34Him all His hosts.
02:35Young men and women, praise the Lord.
02:39All earth's kings and peoples, earth's princes and rulers, young men and maidens, old men
02:45together with children.
02:47Young men and women, praise the name of the Lord.
02:51Let them praise the name of the Lord.
02:53He alone is exalted.
02:55The splendor of His name reaches beyond heaven and earth.
02:59Young men and women, praise the name of the Lord.
03:03He exalts the strength of His people.
03:06He is the praise of all His saints, of the sons of Israel, of the people to whom He comes
03:12close.
03:13Young men and women, praise the name of the Lord.
03:17Alleluia, alleluia.
03:20Remain in my love, says the Lord, who believes in me, and I in Him will bear much fruit.
03:27Alleluia.
03:36The Lord be with you.
03:39A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
03:44Jesus said to the crowds, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which someone
03:52has found.
03:53He hides it again, goes off happy, sells everything he owns, and buys the field.
04:02Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.
04:08When he finds one of great value, he goes and sells everything he owns and buys it.
04:18The Gospel of the Lord.
04:20Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
04:23The foundation of everything is our relationship with God.
04:34Saint Rose and all the saints remind us that our priority is to be in tune with God.
04:43And when we are in tune, the more we are in tune with God, the more we are in tune with
04:50the rest of reality.
04:52Because God is the source of reality.
04:56So, the Gospel and the lives of the saints remind us to keep coming back to our priorities
05:03and not to allow ourselves to get sidetracked.
05:06When we get self-preoccupied, when we worry too much about ourselves and me, myself, our
05:14other etc., etc., we lose the plot.
05:18The more we are centered on the mystery of love, the more free we become.
05:23The more authentic we become.
05:32Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this bread
05:37to offer, which earth has given, human hands have made.
05:41It will become for us the bread of life.
05:48Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine
06:05to offer, fruit of divine work of human hands.
06:09It will become our spiritual drink.
06:18Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
06:23our Almighty Father.
06:31As we proclaim your wonders, O Lord, and the virgins, St. Rose of Lima, we humbly implore
06:38you that as her merits are pleasing to you, so too our beautiful service may find favor
06:47in your sight, through Christ our Lord.
06:52The Lord be with you.
06:54Lift up your hearts.
06:56Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
06:59It is truly right and just, much more than a duty, and good for our salvation, always
07:04and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
07:10For in the saints who consecrated themselves to Christ, for the sake of the kingdom of
07:14heaven, it is right to celebrate the wonders of your providence, by which you call human
07:20nature back to its original holiness, and bring it to experience on this earth the gifts
07:26you promised in the new world to come.
07:29And so, with all the angels and saints we praise you, as we contend, we acclaim, Holy,
07:36Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
07:42Hosanna in the highest.
07:44Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
07:47Hosanna in the highest.
07:50You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
07:52Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them that
07:57bid you fall, that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:03At the time he was betrayed and penned willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving
08:09thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of
08:15it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
08:21In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
08:27he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this
08:32is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured
08:38out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
08:42Do this, immediately.
08:45The mystery of faith.
08:47Save us, Saviour of the world, for by your cross and resurrection you have set us free.
08:54Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we ask you to
08:59forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
09:04We ask you to forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
09:10Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you,
09:15Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held
09:19us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
09:24Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
09:29one by the Holy Spirit.
09:32Remember, Lord, your Church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of
09:37charity.
09:38Together with Francis our Pope, me, your unworthy servant, Eugene, our Emeritus Bishop, all
09:44the clergy who serve your people, and your entire family.
09:48Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
09:57and all who have died in your mercy.
09:59Welcome them into the light of your face.
10:03Have mercy on us all, we pray.
10:05With the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Joseph, the Spouse, with the Blessed
10:09Apostles, and all the Saints, who have pleased you throughout the ages, we make your grace
10:14merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you.
10:19Through your Son, Jesus Christ.
10:25Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy
10:30Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
10:34Amen.
10:37The Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father who art
10:43in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
10:46Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
10:51Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
10:58trespass against us.
11:00And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
11:05Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
11:08Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free
11:13from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our
11:18Savior, Jesus Christ.
11:20The kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
11:23Lord Jesus Christ, we serve your apostles.
11:25Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
11:28Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace
11:32and unity, in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.
11:37Amen.
11:38The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
11:41Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
11:43Peace be with you all.
11:46Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
11:50Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
11:54Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
12:11Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
12:14Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
12:17Lord, I am not worthy.
12:19That you should enter under my roof.
12:21But only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
12:26My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
12:30I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
12:35Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
12:41I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you.
12:46Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
12:51Let us pray.
12:59Renewed by partaking of this divine gift, we pray, O Lord our God,
13:04that by the example of the Blessed Rose, bearing in your body the death of Jesus,
13:11we may strive to hold fast to you alone.
13:14Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
13:17The Lord be with you.
13:19And may the peace and the blessing of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit come upon you,
13:24and remain always with you.
13:26Let us go and live the gospel.
13:29God bless your day.
