01:51we pray, to perfection in our hearts, the spirit of adoption as your sons and daughters,

02:07and ever.
02:08Amen.
02:09A reading from the first book of Kings.
02:13Elijah went a day's journey into the desert until he came to a broom tree and sat beneath
02:18it.
02:19He prayed for death, saying, This is enough, O Lord, take my life, for I am no better than
02:25my father's.
02:27He lay down and fell asleep under the broom tree, but then an angel touched him and ordered
02:33him to get up and eat.
02:36Elijah looked, and there at his head was a hearth cake and a jug of water.
02:41After he ate and drank, he lay down again, but the angel of the Lord came back a second
02:46time, touched him and ordered, Get up and eat, else the journey will be too long for
02:53you.
02:54He got up, ate and drank, and then, strengthened by that food, he walked forty days and forty
03:01nights to the mountain of God, Horeb.
03:05The word of the Lord.
03:06Thanks be to God.
03:07Taste and see the goodness of the Lord, taste and see the goodness of the Lord, taste and
03:28see the goodness of the Lord.
03:37I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall ever be in my mouth, let my soul glory
03:50in the Lord, the lowly will hear me and be glad, taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
04:11Glorify the Lord with me, let us together extol his name.
04:21I sought the Lord and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
04:34Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
04:45Look to him that you may be radiant with joy, and your faces may not blush with shame.
04:57When the afflicted man called out, the Lord heard, and from all his distress he saved him.
05:12Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
05:22The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.
05:33Taste and see how good the Lord is, blessed the man who takes refuge in him.
05:47Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
06:02A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians.
06:06Brothers and sisters, do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God
06:11with which you were sealed for the day of redemption.
06:14All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you,
06:20along with all malice. And be kind to one another, compassionate,
06:25forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. So be imitators of God as beloved children
06:33and live in love as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering
06:41to God for a fragrant aroma. The word of the Lord.
07:11I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord.
07:36Whoever eats this bread will live forever.
08:03The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.
08:06Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
08:12The Jews murmured about Jesus because he said, I am the bread that came down from heaven.
08:18And they said, is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother?
08:28Then how can he say, I have come down from heaven?
08:33Jesus answered and said to them, stop murmuring among yourselves. No one can come to me
08:41unless the father who sent me draw him and I will raise him on the last day.
08:50It is written in the prophets, they shall all be taught by God. Everyone who listens to my father
08:59and learns from him comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the father except the one who is from
09:07God. He has seen the father. Amen. Amen. I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.
09:18I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died.
09:25This is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.
09:31I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.
09:38And the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.
09:45The gospel of the Lord. I believe in one God.
10:06God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
10:13consubstantial with the father. Through him all things were made.
10:19For our salvation, he came down from heaven and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the
10:25Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified. He suffered death and rose again on
10:35the third day in accordance with the scriptures. He ascended into heaven.
10:42He will come again in glory.
10:46And his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
10:52who proceeds from the father and the son, with the father, the son, and the daughter of God.
10:59I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. I confess one baptism and I look forward
11:10to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
11:15For the strengthening of marriage and family life and for those preparing for marriage,
11:21that the Lord will fill them with a love that endures all things. Let us pray to the Lord.
11:28For guidance for those considering the Eucharistic revival in September,
11:33to register and make plans to attend. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
11:39That all the fierce and ferocious storms in this hurricane season will avoid our area. Let us pray
11:45to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For our deceased relatives and friends and all the departed,
11:53that they may be gathered into the eternal joy of their heavenly home, especially Shirley Nikes,
11:59Chris Lagarde, Patsy Klutz, Kendall Cuevas, and Holly Kloss. May they rest in the peace of Christ.
12:09Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
12:13And for all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts.
12:24Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
12:28Almighty God, we thank you for your blessings. We thank you especially for the gift of the
12:32Eucharist. May we always recognize Jesus in the bread of life. He carries with it the
12:38guarantee of heaven. May we look forward to the banquet of heaven through Christ our Lord.
13:53I pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
14:01our Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and
14:07glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his holy Church. Be pleased, O Lord,
14:12to accept the offerings of your Church, for in your mercy you have given them to be offered,
14:18and by your power you transform them into the mystery of our salvation, through Christ our
14:24Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We've lifted them
14:29up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. It is truly right
14:35and just. Our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks. Lord, Holy Father,
14:41Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ our Lord. For he is the true and eternal priest,
14:46who instituted the pattern of an everlasting sacrifice, and was the first to offer himself
14:51as a saving victim, commanding us to make this offering as his memorial. As we eat his flesh
14:56that was sacrificed for us, we are made strong, and as we drink his blood that was poured out
15:01for us, we are washed clean. And so with angels and archangels, with thrones and dominions,
15:06and with all the hosts and powers of heaven, we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we
15:13acclaim.
16:13Yesterday was the feast of Edith Stein, Saint Teresa Benedict of the Cross. She grew up Jewish,
16:27then she became an atheist, and finally she became a Catholic. And she would spend hours and hours
16:34before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. And finally she became a nun, and was put in Auschwitz,
16:40and was martyred there. So as we celebrate this great person of the Church,
16:46she has some beautiful writings. She said of the Holy Eucharist, she said,
16:51living in a Eucharistic way means coming out of oneself, out of the narrowness of one's life,
16:59and growing into the immensity of life in Christ. You're indeed holy, O Lord,
17:06the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your spirit
17:12upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord
17:17Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread
17:23and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you,
17:30and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
17:44In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and, once more giving thanks,
17:49he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the
17:55chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you
18:02and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
18:14The Mystery of Faith
18:25When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
18:45When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
19:07Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord,
19:11the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be
19:15in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of
19:20Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your Church spread
19:26throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis our Pope,
19:31Louis our Bishop, and all your people. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen
19:36asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into
19:41the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
19:46Mother of God, with the Blessed Joseph, her Spouse, with the Blessed Apostles,
19:51and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be
19:55coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
20:02Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
20:06in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
20:32Amen.
20:41Please look at the crucifix now. That's how much God loves you,
20:45so let us pray from the heart as Jesus taught us.
