01:36You alone are the last child of Jesus Christ.
01:40With the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God the Father. Amen.
01:47O God, giver of that order of love for you.
01:53By which St. Lawrence was outstandingly faithful in service, and glorious in martyrdom.
01:59Grant that we may love what he loved, and put into practice what he taught.
02:05To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
02:10God, forever and ever. Amen.
02:17A reading from the second letter of St. Paul to Corinthians, chapter 9, verses 6-10.
02:27Brothers and sisters, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly.
02:35And whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
02:42Each must do, as already determined, without sadness or compulsion.
02:49For God loves a cheerful giver.
02:52Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you.
02:58So that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.
03:09As it is written, he scatters abroad, he gives to the poor.
03:14His righteousness endures forever.
03:18The one who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food,
03:24will supply and multiply your seed, and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
03:32The word of the Lord.
03:34Thanks be to God.
03:36A psalm today is Psalm 112.
03:40Bless the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.
03:45Bless the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.
03:50Blessed the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commands.

04:01The upright generation shall be blessed.
04:05Bless the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.

04:20The just one shall be an everlasting remembrance.
04:25Bless the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.
04:30An evil report he shall not fear.
04:34His heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
04:38His heart is steadfast.
04:40He shall not fear till he looks down upon his foes.
04:45Bless the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.
04:51Lavishly he gives to the poor.
04:54His generosity shall endure forever.

05:07We sing.
05:09Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
05:19Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life, says the Lord.
05:27Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
05:44The Lord be with you.
05:45And with your spirit.
05:46A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
05:49Glory to you, O Lord.
05:52Jesus said to his disciples,
05:55Amen, amen, I say to you.
05:58Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat.
06:04But if it dies, it produces much fruit.
06:08Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life.
06:16Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be.
06:23The Father will honor whoever serves me.
06:27The Gospel of the Lord.
06:29Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:32Almighty God, we thank you for St. Lawrence, for his faith, his courage, for all the people who have suffered for our faith.
06:40May we be faithful to our faith at this time and hand it on to others.
06:45The biggest problem in our time is indifference.
06:48May we have the courage to live our faith through Christ our Lord.
06:52Amen.
06:55Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
07:00Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
07:05Blessed be God forever.
07:15Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
07:20Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
07:25Blessed be God forever.
07:37Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
07:43May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, and the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church.
07:52Receive with favor, O Lord, the offerings we joyfully make on the feast day of St. Lawrence,
07:58and grant that they may become a help to our salvation, through Christ our Lord.
08:04Amen.
08:05The Lord be with you.
08:06And with your spirit.
08:07Lift up your hearts.
08:08We lift them up to the Lord.
08:10Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
08:12It is right and just.
08:14It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks.
08:19Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ our Lord.
08:23For he is the true and eternal priest, who instituted the pattern of an everlasting sacrifice,
08:28and was the first to offer himself as a savior victim, commanding us to make this offering as his memorial.
08:34As we, he splashed a sacrifice for us, we were made strong, and as we drank his blood that was poured out for us, we were washed clean.
08:41And so, with angels and archangels, with thrones and dominions, and with all the hosts and powers of heaven,
08:46we sing to him of your glory, as without end we acclaim.
08:51Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts.
08:55Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:58Hosanna in the highest.
09:00Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
09:04Hosanna in the highest.
09:07St. Lawrence is mentioned in the Roman canon, the first Eucharistic prayer, so we pray that one today in his honor.
09:13And a quote from St. Augustine, another great saint.
09:17Augustine said about the Eucharist,
09:20What you see is the bread and the chalice.
09:23That is what your own eyes report to you, but what your faith obliges you to accept
09:28is that the bread is the body of Christ and the wine the blood of Christ.
09:32Christ is both the priest offering himself and himself the victim.
09:36He willed that the sacramental sign of this should be the daily sacrifice of the church,
09:41who since the church is the body and he is the head,
09:46learns to offer himself through him,
09:49recognizing this bread what hung on the cross,
09:53and in this chalice what flowed from his side.
09:58To you, therefore, most merciful Father,
10:01we make humble prayer and petition through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
10:05that you accept and bless these gifts, these offerings, these holy and unblemished sacrifices,
10:11which we offer you firstly for your holy Catholic Church.
10:14Be pleased to grant her peace, to guard, unite, and govern her throughout the whole world,
10:19together with your servant Francis, our Pope, and Louis, our Bishop,
10:22and all those who are holding to the truth, hang on the Catholic and apostolic faith.
10:27Remember, Lord, your servants are all gathered here whose faith and devotion are owed to you,
10:32for them we offer you the sacrifice of praise that they offered for themselves,
10:36and all who are dear to them, for the redemption of their souls and the hope of health and well-being,
10:41and paying their homage to you, the eternal God, living and true.
10:44In communion with those whose memory we venerate,
10:47especially with the glorious ever-virgin Mary, Mother of our God and Lord Jesus Christ,
10:53and blessed Joseph, her spouse, your blessed apostles and martyrs,
10:57Peter and Paul, Andrew,
11:01and all your saints,
11:04especially James, John, Thomas, James, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Simon, and Jude,
11:11Linus, Plato, Clement, Sixtus, Cornelius, Cyprian, Lawrence, Chrysogonus, John and Paul,
11:19Cosmas and Damian, and all your saints.
11:22We ask the truth of words and prayers, and all things we may be defended by your protecting help.
11:29Therefore, Lord, we pray, graciously accept this oblation of our service,
11:33that of your whole family, order our days in your peace,
11:37and command that we be delivered from eternal damnation,
11:40and counted among the flock of those you have chosen.
11:43Be pleased, O God, we pray, to bless, acknowledge, and approve this offering in every respect,
11:49make it spiritual and acceptable,
11:51so that it may become for us the body and blood of your most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
11:56On the day before he was to suffer, he took bread in his holy and venerable hands,
12:01and with eyes raised to heaven to you, O God, as your Almighty Father,
12:05giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
12:10Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
12:19In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the precious chalice in his holy and venerable hands,
12:25and once more giving you thanks, he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying,
12:30Take this, all of you, to eat from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
12:34the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for me,
12:40for the forgiveness of sins.
12:43The mystery of faith.
12:45Save us, Savior of the world, for by your cross and resurrection, you have set us free.
12:52Therefore, Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the blessed passion,
12:55the resurrection from the dead, and the glorious ascension into heaven of Christ,
12:58your Son, our Lord, we pray that you will bless us,
13:01that you will bless us, that you will bless us,
13:03that you will bless us, that you will bless us,
13:05that you will bless us, that you will bless us,
