00:00In Venezuela, the National Electoral Council confirmed that 100% of the electoral machines
00:15have already been distributed across the country ahead of the July 28 elections.
00:21In the United States, leaders of the Democratic Party and other high-profile figures supported
00:25Vice President Kamala Harris as Biden's replacement, but the current president announced his withdrawal
00:30from the race.
00:33And in Palestine, Israeli occupation forces ordered a new evacuation of thousands in Hanjouni's
00:37al-Mawassi town.
00:42Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Lesos studios in Havana,
00:47Cuba.
00:48Let's begin with the news.
01:01On Sunday, the president of the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, Elvis Amoroso, confirmed
01:06that 100% of the electoral machines have already been distributed across the country.
01:11Amoroso said so during the pre-dispatched audit in the venues of the National Electoral
01:15Council located in the state of Miranda, in the center-north of Venezuela.
01:19On the preliminary audit in which witnesses of political organizations attended, authorities
01:24verified the correct functioning of the communicational devices.
01:27Therefore, the president of the highest electoral body ratified that the stages of the ballot
01:31agenda for the July 28 elections are being rigorously complied with.
01:40We go now live to Caracas.
01:41Our special envoy, Yunus Soner, is at Fortuna, where defense authorities met with Carter
01:46Center representatives.
01:47Hello, Yunus.
01:48What is the latest from Venezuela?
01:51Hello, hello from Caracas.
01:56Hello from the Hall of Fame, Hall of Honor, Simón Bolívar, here inside the Ministry
02:02of Defense.
02:03We are right now waiting for the representatives of the Carter Center to come out from their
02:08meeting.
02:09Now, what happened?
02:12They were received by the Minister of Defense, Padrino López.
02:15A delegation of eight persons came from the United States from the Carter Center, headed
02:20by Jenny Lincoln, who is the head advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean.
02:25The Carter Center is pretty important.
02:27We should remind our viewers that it has a long history of cooperating with Venezuela
02:32in terms of election observation and watching.
02:36It has been here during seven different elections since 1998, and has written comprehensive
02:42reports about these.
02:44For instance, in 2006, the Center confirmed in a public accessible report how efficient
02:51and well-working the electronic voting system was.
02:55And in 2012, it has also confirmed increased citizen confidence into the electoral system.
03:03So this delegation is now also here again to observe the July 28 elections, and it is
03:10meeting with different political actors and different institutions, and today was received
03:14by the Minister of Defense, Padrino López, who welcomed them wholeheartedly.
03:20He said, we are very happy that you are here, and we do welcome all the delegations that
03:25are invited by the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, which is the only institution
03:32authorized to invite foreign observers or watchers, better said.
03:37So Padrino López gave a summary of the situation as he sees it.
03:43He spoke that he observes an enthusiastic, joyful atmosphere ahead of the elections.
03:50He said that the armed forces celebrate every time the elections come, because it moves
03:56the country away from the violence, and in fact the minister said he wished that there
04:01were more elections.
04:03The National Bolivarian Armed Forces play a crucial role in the elections, and this
04:08is within the plan of Republic, the plan which the minister then explained to the representatives
04:16of the Carter Center in detail.
04:17That plan foresees that the armed forces provide the security of election centers, of voters,
04:26and of the voting machines, ahead and during and after the elections.
04:30So every voting center is guarded by members of the armed forces, which will, as the minister
04:37has announced, deploy thousands of soldiers officially starting from July 24th.
04:44But right now, for instance, in all the election stands where citizens are taught how action
04:49works, how the procedure works, you see also already present soldiers of the armed forces,
04:55of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela.
04:58So the meeting is still continuing.
05:00We are waiting for the Carter Center delegation to come out, and to hopefully hold a press
05:05declaration here, but right now we can state that the Minister of Defense of Venezuela
05:11welcomed the Carter delegation wholeheartedly, and they seem to be quite interested in inquiring
05:17more details about the election process.
05:20Thank you, Yunus, for the updated information on Venezuela's electoral campaign.
05:29That was Yunus Soner reporting live from Caracas on the latest developments ahead
05:33of the July 28th presidential elections.
05:35Let's go now to a story by Yunus Soner that he sent earlier the audit process of the voting
05:39machines for the upcoming voting day.
05:43The National Electoral Council of Venezuela, the country's only institution to supervise
05:48elections and announce results, invited to a storehouse in Filas de Mariches in the eastern
05:53part of Caracas.
05:54What do we test today?
06:02We test the start of the machine, the zero record of the machine, what they call the
06:06zero record, to ensure there are no voters loaded into the machine.
06:11We validate the integrity of data, that is, that everything that was audited is what the
06:15machine contains, we further validate the act of voting, the counting process, transmission
06:20process and the totalization process, and we validate, right, that the paper ballot
06:28with the tally sheet and what was transmitted to the totalization matches 100%.
06:36Randomly chosen 163 voting machines are placed in the storehouse, each passes the entire
06:42voting process, around each of them several people observing the work.
06:49We have here more than 18 technicians from the political organizations that represent
06:53the 10 alliances and include the 38 political organizations that are participating.
07:00Once the machine finishes work, each of them confirmed by signature it's working.
07:04In addition to all political parties, watchers from the United Nations and the Carter Center
07:09are also present.
07:11The president of the council takes a tour and helds a press conference.
07:18This is also an example for the world, as many countries and plenty of institutions
07:24have been criticizing Venezuela and today, many of those institutions are here, including
07:31international observers who have verified for all these days by performing audits alongside
07:35political parties, with the technicians of the National Electoral Council, with technicians
07:44from different universities.
07:48And today we feel very proud when we hear them saying this process is perfect.
07:54This was the 10th audition in preparation of the election.
07:57Six more tests are to come till July 28.
08:00Authorities informed that all voting machines, 30,026 in total, have been deployed all over
08:07the country.
08:12On July 28, we will have a great electoral party and we'll be at the end of the electoral
08:17process in the capacity to transmit the electoral results in the shortest possible time and
08:23subsequently proclaim the next president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
08:31Long live the homeland!
08:33Long live Venezuela!
08:36And remember, everyone to vote on July 28.
08:41Everyone to the ballot boxes.
08:45The electoral machinery is ready for July 28, the presidential elections here in Venezuela.
08:51Yunus Soner, Telesur, Caracas, Venezuela.
08:56In this context, the candidate of the Great Patriotic Poll, Nicolas Maduro, continues
08:59his tour across the whole Venezuelan Nueva Espada state as part of his presidential campaign.
09:05There he was welcomed by a large gathering that ratified the people's support to his
09:08governmental upcoming proposals.
09:10In that regard, Maduro thanked the people for their backup during the development of
09:14his electoral campaign that ends up next July 25.
09:24With that full moon, I say to Commander Chavez, Commander, this people will not fail you.
09:32We are heading towards a great victory next Sunday, July 28, and we will pass all the
09:38bills to that racist oligarchy of Caracas.
09:41We will pass the bill of the sanctions.
09:44We will pass the bill of the blockade.
09:48We will pass the bill of the economic war.
09:51We will pass the bill of the today dollar.
09:54We will pass them the bill of the U.S. invasion call.
09:58We will pass them all the bills.
10:02During his speech, candidate Maduro also expressed his confidence in the Venezuelan people ahead
10:07of the presidential elections of July 28.
10:16Is not far away the most important victory of, let me tell you, the 21st century.
10:25The 21st century will be written before and after July 28.
10:32It is not by chance that that day, our Commander Hugo Chavez turns 70 years old.
10:38It is a date with the history of the hereafter and beyond.
10:43It is a date with the earthly and the supernatural.
10:49It is a date with the history of 500 years of resistance, of 200 years of independence.

11:19Welcome back.
11:31The United States support has been pouring in for Vice President Kamala Harris to replace
11:36Biden ahead of the November election day.
11:38President Biden and former President Bill Clinton, as well as former State Secretary
11:42Hillary Clinton, expressed their support for the current VP to take Biden's place.
11:47The current President withdrew from the race for the U.S. presidency, a decision that plunged
11:52the Democratic nomination into uncertainty just months before the November election against
11:56Donald Trump.
11:57The move came after weeks of long-pressure campaigns by Democratic leaders, organizers,
12:04and donors.
12:05Disastrous debate performance last month and his uneven public appearance since have only
12:09exacerbated longstanding border concerns that the 81-year-old President was simply too old
12:14to serve another four years.
12:19U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson called for Joe Biden's resignation following his decision
12:23to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race just months before the election.
12:28Johnson reasoned that if Joe Biden is unfit to run for the presidency, he is unfit to
12:32serve.
12:33He also launched strong criticism against the Democratic Party and Vice President Kamala
12:37Harris, who, according to him, has known as long as anyone of his inability to serve and
12:42whom he accused of being complicit in the greatest political cover-up in the history
12:47of the country, as well as in the destruction of national security and prosperity.
12:52Johnson said the Democratic Party forced the Democratic nominee to withdraw his candidacy
12:56from the ballot just over 100 days to go before the election.
13:05On Sunday, an exclusive interview for a multi-platform tele-journalist of the social movement Bridges
13:09of Love, Carlos Lazaro, gave details about Joe Biden's resignation from his presidential
13:14candidacy.
13:21Many people in the political environment of the United States expected maybe Biden withdraw,
13:26because after the failed performance in the debate with Trump, it was bad news and bad
13:30news.
13:33The fact that today he announced his withdrawal from the campaign to support Kamala Harris
13:37creates a new dynamic in the United States and towards the election.
13:41There was a lot of pessimism among the Democrats because there was little chance Biden would
13:46win the elections.
13:48Especially in the most important states, these states that are decisive for the presidency,
13:56and the fact that he is now withdrawing, and the possible presidential candidate Kamala
14:00Harris, gives a lot of hope to the Democrats and too many forces that are opposed to President
14:05Trump here in the United States.
14:08In the meantime, Carlos Lazaro pointed out that the polls were not favorable for President
14:12Biden.
14:17Biden received overwhelming support from African-American women and African-Americans overall at this
14:23moment, according to the polls.
14:26There is some discouragement among these people, and it is not that maybe they are not going
14:30to vote or were going to vote against Biden, but that they were not encouraged to vote
14:34for Biden.
14:35They thought it was worth it to go out and vote for Biden.
14:38However, when the same polls were made to these people about Kamala Harris, there was
14:42more enthusiasm, there was more intention to vote.
14:45So I think that in this sense, we can gather a part of this alliance that is the Democrats.
14:50This front that is created by the Democrats of African-Americans, Hispanics, migrants
14:57from different sectors, and it can have an impact on minorities and the population in
15:02general for this ground, for this idea of an African-American woman to be the first
15:06president of the United States.
15:11On the other hand, the international analyst, Ana Sena, assured that this week is key to
15:15measure the consensus of the Democratic Party between Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama.
15:23I imagine that during the week, it will be clearer how far the consensus within the Democratic
15:28Party can go.
15:29There are other candidates who are strong candidates, and there is one who is not a
15:33candidate yet, but it is a figure that has been informally being talked about within
15:37the United States, that is Michelle Obama.
15:43Michelle Obama could be a candidate that if she meets the consensus within the party,
15:47she could have the conditions to dispute with the Trump-vance formula.
15:52Michelle Obama has a lot of sway in the population, a lot of recognition.
15:57But is not sure yet that she can really be the next members of the Democratic Party.
16:03There are power issues at play, not so much the possibility of having the best candidate
16:08to defeat the Republicans nor what the citizens think.
16:12That is only half taken into account.
16:15But in reality, the definition will be marked by the internal power games among the Democrats,
16:20which are not easy.
16:23We have a final short break coming up, but before we invite you to join our WhatsApp
16:26community for our English-speaking audience, you can scan the QR code on screen to join
16:30directly and share the link to reach more people concerning this coverage of Latin America
16:34and the Caribbean, as well as the rest of the world.
16:36Final short break, don't go away.
16:56Welcome back.
17:15On Monday, the Israeli occupation army ordered a new evacuation of thousands of Gazans from
17:19their lands.
17:20In this way, soldiers on behalf of the genocidal regime of Tel Aviv ordered the inhabitants
17:24of Han Yunis to temporarily evacuate the humanitarian aid of Al-Mawassi.
17:29For its part, the Zionist army also warned that the new exodus should be carried out
17:32immediately, realizing that numerous terrorist acts perpetrated by the Palestinian resistance
17:36movement Hamas have taken place in these areas.
17:40On the other hand, it was also known that in the last hours, Israel bombed more than
17:4335 targets in the region, leaving many dead and wounded.
17:52Meanwhile on Sunday, the United Nations Population Fund issued a stern warning about the growing
17:57malnutrition crisis in Gaza, which poses a great danger to pregnant women and newborns.
18:03In its recent publication, the social media X, the UNFPA noted that the birth of premature
18:08and low birth weight babies in Gaza has become increasingly common.
18:13Local authorities report that since the start of the current conflict on October 7, the
18:18number of Palestinians killed has risen to more than 38,000, with more than 89,000 wounded,
18:24most of them women and children.
18:26The government media office in Gaza confirmed that at least 34 children have died of starvation
18:31and more than 3,500 are at imminent risk due to malnutrition.
18:39On Sunday, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq launched a new operation against Israeli targets
18:44in the occupied territories.
18:46In this regard, Iraqi Islamists reported in a statement that the operation was carried
18:51out in support of the people of Palestine in response to the genocide carried out by
18:55the Israeli Occupation Army against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
18:58Precisely after the beginning of the genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza in October,
19:03the Iraqi Islamic Resistance Movement has attacked Israeli military targets, assuring
19:06that these operations will continue with increasing intensity.
19:16When the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ali Khamenei, expressed his support
19:20to President-elect Massoud Pashinyan, the leader of the Islamic Revolution called on
19:24the parliament to give its constructive cooperation to the new government of President-elect Massoud
19:29Pashinyan.
19:30Khamenei further stressed the role and determination of the parliament in circumventing the sanctions
19:35imposed by the West on Iran.
19:38Likewise, Khamenei pointed out that the situation in Palestine remains the first issue of the
19:43Islamic world, and maintained his steadfast rejection of the indiscriminate bombing of
19:47Gaza Strip by Israeli forces.
19:53In Bangladesh, Metropolitan Police confirmed more than 500 people arrested since protests
19:57began last week.
19:59According to the police spokesman, there are currently 532 preventively detained people.
20:04In addition to the students, several social leaders, including Amin Khashroon Mahmood,
20:08have also been arrested.
20:10Despite the decision of the Supreme Court that reversed the controversial law that triggered
20:14the protests, the detainees have not yet been released.
