00:00In Venezuela, the National Electoral Council confirmed that 100% of the electoral machines
00:15have already been distributed across the country ahead of July 28th elections.
00:22President Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the U.S. presidency, a decision that plunged
00:26the democratic nomination into uncertainty just months before the November election.
00:32And in Palestine, Israeli occupation forces ordered a new evacuation of thousands in Han
00:36Yonis al-Mawassi town.
00:42Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Television Studios in Havana,
00:46Cuba.
00:47Let's begin with the news.
01:00On Sunday, the president of the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, Elvis Amoroso, confirmed
01:05that 100% of the electoral machines have already been distributed across the country.
01:10Amoroso said so during the pre-dispatch audit in the venues of the National Electoral Council
01:14in the state of Miranda, in the center-north of Venezuela.
01:18On the preliminary audit, in which witnesses of political organizations attended, authorities
01:22verified the correct functioning of the communicational devices.
01:26Therefore, the president of the highest electoral body clarified that the stages of the ballot
01:30agenda for July 28th elections are being rigorously complied with.
01:40And there's less than a week left for the presidential election and only four days for
01:44the campaign.
01:45Candidates increase efforts to get votes, and Maduro finishes off with large rallies
01:49in the interior of the country.
01:50With more information, our special envoy, Junot Soner.
01:55Candidate Maduro plans to hold campaign closings in all 23 states of Venezuela.
02:00This Sunday he was in Apure and Barinas, in the south of the country.
02:04The pillars of his speech are centered on the defense of the public, the renunciation
02:09of violence, the defense of democracy and of the results.
02:18They have said it.
02:20We are going to privatize everything, education, housing, the right to health.
02:26They said that.
02:28They said they are going to fire 400,000 public workers.
02:32They bring Millet's chainsaw with them.
02:35Do you want Venezuela to become Millet's Argentina?
02:40He is referring to the extremist sector headed by candidate Edmundo González.
02:44González participated briefly in a religious act in Caracas and called to vote through
02:49a message on social networks.
02:51We are one week away from the most important day in the democratic history of our country.
02:59On that day, with your vote, we will begin the path of reconciliation for all Venezuelans.
03:07The candidate of the Solutions Party, Claudio Fermin, said that the votes do not belong
03:11to any fraction and that he stands as an independent of the political blocs.
03:17But voters are nobody's property.
03:19I respectfully tell the voters, the electors, whoever they have voted for in the past, that
03:24it is time for a change.
03:26The leader of the Pencil Party, Antonio Echari, made a campaign closing in the state of Aragua
03:32and called to not follow the polarization, instead voting for his candidacy of unity.
03:38If you want to have Venezuela divided, go and vote for one of the extremes.
03:44There is the PSUV option and there is the MUD option.
03:48But if you want to have a united Venezuela and you want to have your children back, here
03:54is the pencil of education.
03:55José Brito, candidate of Venezuela First, showed activity in his social networks, calling
04:01to vote in peace.
04:02The standard bearer of democratic action, Luis Eduardo Martínez, closed his campaign
04:07in the state of Lara.
04:09There are four days of campaigning and less than a week left for the presidential elections
04:14in Venezuela.
04:15In this context, the candidate of the great majority poll, Nicolás Maduro, continued
04:21his tour across the whole Venezuelan Nueva Espada state as part of his presidential campaign.
04:26There he was welcomed by a large gathering that ratified the people's support of his
04:30governmental upcoming proposals.
04:32In that regard, Maduro thanked the people for their backup during the development of
04:36his electoral campaign that ends up next July 25th.
04:40I say to Commander Chávez, Commander, this people will not fail you.
04:56We are heading towards a great victory next Sunday July 28th, and we will pass all the
05:02bills to that racist oligarchy of Caracas, we will pass the bill of the sanctions, we
05:09will pass the bill of the blockade, we will pass the bill of the economic war, we will
05:16pass the bill of the today dollar, we will pass them the bill of the U.S. invasion call,
05:23we will pass them all the bills.
05:26At the gathering of the Nueva Espada state, the candidate of the great majority poll,
05:30Nicolás Maduro, demanded the far right to stop taking violent actions against the country.
05:39But I say it to the far right wing now.
05:54I say it from now on to the far right, if you overstep the line, before, during or after
06:00July 28th, listen to me carefully because I do not speak nonsense, you will regret it
06:06for 200 years.
06:11It will be the last mistake the far right will make to harm the people.
06:16Enough of harm, enough of violence, enough of selling their country, enough of selling
06:22their country, it's enough, darn it.
06:31During his speech, candidate Maduro also expressed his confidence in the Venezuelan people ahead
06:36of the presidential elections of July 28th.
06:44Is not far away, the most important victory of, let me tell you, the 21st century.
06:53The 21st century will be written before and after July 28th.
07:00It is not by chance that that day our commander Hugo Chávez turned 70 years old.
07:07It is a date with the history of the hereafter and beyond.
07:12It is a date with the earthly and the supernatural.
07:17It is a date with the history of 500 years of resistance, of 200 years of independence.

07:55Welcome back.
08:02President Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the U.S. presidency, a decision that plunged
08:05the Democratic nomination into uncertainty just months before the November election against
08:10Donald Trump.
08:11The president made the announcement after a week's long pressure campaign by Democratic
08:15leaders, organizers, and donors.
08:17Disastrous debate performance last month and his uneven public appearance have only exacerbated
08:22longstanding border concerns that the 81-year-old president was simply too old to serve another
08:27four years.
08:28The president's withdrawal pushes the Democratic Party into largely uncharted waters, with
08:33its national convention scheduled to begin on August 19 in Chicago.
08:36The nominee will also have a tight window to choose a running mate to take on Trump
08:41and his vice presidential pick, the Ohio Senator James David Vance.
08:48U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson called for Joe Biden's resignation following his decision
08:55to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race just months before the election.
09:00Johnson reasoned that if Joe Biden is unfit to run for the presidency, he is unfit to
09:05serve.
09:06He also launched strong criticism against the Democratic Party and Vice President Kamala
09:09Harris, who, according to him, has known as long as anyone of his inability to serve and
09:15who accused of being complicit in the greatest political cover-up in the history of the country,
09:20as well as in the destruction of national sovereignty, security, and prosperity.
09:23Johnson said the Democratic Party forced the Democratic nominee to withdraw his candidacy
09:27from the ballot with just over 100 days to go before the elections.
09:35On Sunday, an exclusive interview for our multi-platform Telesur, the leader of the
09:39social movement Bridges of Love, Carlos Lazo gave details about Joe Biden's resignation
09:44from his presidential candidacy.
09:52Many people in the political environment of the United States expected that maybe Biden
09:56would withdraw because after the failed performance in the debate with Trump, it was bad news
10:01and bad news.
10:04The fact that today he announced his withdrawal from the campaign to support Kamala Harris
10:09creates a new dynamic in the United States and towards the elections.
10:13There was a lot of pessimism among the Democrats because there was little chance that Biden
10:17would win the elections, especially in the most important states, these states that are
10:23decisive for the presidency.
10:27And the fact that he is now withdrawing and the possible presidential candidate Kamala
10:31Harris gives a lot of hope to the Democrats and too many forces that are opposed to President
10:36Trump here in the United States.
10:39In the meantime, Carlos Lazo pointed out that the polls were not favorable for President
10:44Biden.
10:48Biden received overwhelming support from African-American women and African-Americans overall, at this
10:54moment, according to the polls.
10:58There is some discouragement among these people, and it is not that maybe they are not going
11:02to vote or were going to vote against Biden, but that they were not encouraged to vote
11:05for Biden.
11:06They thought it was not worth it to go out and vote for Biden.
11:09However, when the same polls were made to these people about Kamala Harris, there was
11:14more enthusiasm, there was more intention to vote.
11:17So I think that in this sense, we can gather a part of this alliance that is the Democrats,
11:22this front that is created by the Democrats of African-Americans, Hispanics, migrants
11:28from different sectors, and it can have an impact on minorities and also on the population
11:33in general for this ground, for this idea of an African-American woman to be the first
11:38president of the United States.
11:41During his campaign in the United States, presidential candidate Nicolás Maduro sent
11:45a message to President Joe Biden after the news of his withdrawal from the race for the
11:49U.S. presidency.
11:55I only say to President Biden, be at peace with your conscience because you made the
12:00wise and correct decision, and from Venezuela, I, the President of the Republic, wish you
12:07good health and long life, President Biden, despite our differences.
12:13On the other hand, former U.S. President Barack Obama expressed on his ex-accounts that Biden
12:17was one of the U.S.' most consequential presidents and that he is a patriot of the
12:21highest order.
12:23Former U.S. President Clinton, along with former State Secretary Hillary Clinton, thanked President
12:28Biden for everything he achieved and supported Kamala Harris.
12:31Perdition and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer described Biden as a truly amazing
12:36human being, agreeing on the fact that he put his country and everyone's future first.
12:40For his part, Donald Trump let everybody know all the suffering Biden's presidency brought
12:44to the United States.
12:45Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed on her ex-account
12:50that the next step after Biden's withdrawal should be an investigation into the conclusion
12:54of the U.S. into the collusion of the U.S. media and political circles.
13:22On Monday, the Israeli occupation army ordered a new evacuation of thousands of Gazans from
13:26their lands.
13:27In this way, soldiers, on behalf of the genocidal regime of Tel Aviv, ordered the inhabitants
13:32of Hanjunis to temporarily evacuate the humanitarian area of Al-Mawassi.
13:36For his part, the Zionist army also warned that the new exodus should be carried out
13:41immediately, alleging that numerous terrorist acts perpetrated by the Palestinian resistance
13:45movement Hamas have taken place in these areas.
13:48On the other hand, it was also known that in the last hours, Israel bombed more than
13:5235 targets in the region, leaving many dead and wounded.
13:58Meanwhile, on Sunday, the United Nations Population Fund issued a stern warning about the growing
14:05malnutrition crisis in Gaza, which poses a grave danger to pregnant women and newborns.
14:11In its recent publication, the social media X, the UNFPA noted that the birth of premature
14:16and low birth weight babies in Gaza has become increasingly common.
14:20Local authorities reported that since the start of the current conflict on October 7,
14:25the number of Palestinians killed has risen to more than 38,000, with more than 89,000
14:29wounded, most of them women or children.
14:32The government media office in Gaza confirmed that at least 34 children have died of starvation
14:37and over 3,500 are at imminent risk due to malnutrition.
14:45And in Bangladesh, Metropolitan Police confirmed more than 500 people arrested since protests
14:49began last week.
14:50According to the police spokesman, there are currently 532 preventively detained people.
14:55In addition to the students, several social leaders, including Amin Kashroom Mahmood,
14:59have also been arrested.
15:01Despite the decision of the Supreme Court to reverse the controversial law that triggered
15:05the protests, the detainees have not yet been released.
15:13On Sunday, Philippine and Chinese authorities reported that they have reached an agreement
15:17to ease tensions on a disputed sandbar in the South China Sea.
15:21Authorities of these Asian countries reported that this interim agreement is intended to
15:24reduce tensions after a series of provocations at the Second Thomas Sandbank, which both
15:29nations claim to be irrelevant.
15:31The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs stated that both sides continue to recognize
15:34the need to ease the situation in the South China Sea and manage differences through dialogue
15:39and consultation.
15:41Diplomats from both nations set out the tentative terms of the agreement that would re-establish
15:45Philippine troops on the Second Thomas Sandbar, where their forces have previously clashed.

16:33Welcome back.
16:34In Mexico, a new caravan of migrants from several Latin American and Caribbean countries
16:38began its journey to the United States.
16:40The call was released on social medias by the members of themselves.
16:44The contingent concentrated in Chiapas and headed along the International Highway to
16:48Tapachula.
16:49The caravan passed at least two inspection points of the Mexican National Migration Institute
16:54and the National Guard without any attempt to stop them.
16:57According to the migrants themselves, they intend to reach the city of Tapachula, where
17:01they hope more migrants stranded on the southern border will join them in order to continue
17:06as a group towards the center and north of Mexico.
17:14Colombian President Gustavo Petro proposed to Congress to approve the reduction of the
17:18working day to 48 hours a week in order to increase productivity levels in the country.
17:24The president described as same as slavery the current situation in the country with
17:27working hours of 48 hours per week, and pointed out that it is a huge mistake to think that
17:33the more workers are exploited with long working hours, instability and low wages,
17:37the more business profits are made.
17:39The Colombian president considered essential to reach a labor management pact to raise
17:44real wages and reduce the working day.
17:46Petro did not specify if the proposal to reduce the working day would be translated into a
17:50new bill, or if, on the contrary, it would be added to the labor reform that is being
17:55processed in Congress.
17:56On Sunday, in the northwest of Colombia, three people lost their lives during the 40th massacre
18:06in the country in 2024.
18:08The incident took place early Sunday morning in La Granja neighborhood in the municipality
18:12of Cocorna, Antioquia.
18:14According to local media, the fatal victims were three men between the ages of 17 and
18:1931.
18:20The mayor of Cocorna, David Gomez, assured that no effort should be spared and that all
18:24actions should be multiplied to find the whereabouts of the perpetrators of this extremely
18:31violent act.
18:32Local authorities are on alert as two massacres have been recorded in less than 48 hours.
18:36In response to both incidents, this Monday will be held as a security council led by
18:41department officials and all law enforcement agencies.
18:49In Chile, the National Congress, after a week's recess, resumes its activities with
18:54a full agenda, where the focus will be on projects to address the violence crisis in
18:58the country.
18:59Issues such as the creation of the Ministry of Public Security, the Economic and Financial
19:03Intelligence System, the Critical Infrastructure Project and the plan to build a high-security
19:07prison will be debated by legislators in the coming days.
19:11A commission of the Chamber of Deputies will summon the Minister of Justice, Luis Cordero,
19:15to explain details about the prison, with a capacity of 500 inmates, where organized
19:20crime leaders will be held.
19:22Insecurity returned to the forefront after two prison killings in Santiago that left
19:27nine people dead.
19:43In Indonesia, thousands gathered on the streets of the city of Pariamant to celebrate the
19:48Tabuik Festival.
19:49On Sunday, thousands flocked to a coastal town in western Indonesia to watch a clash
19:53between ornate mythical effigies before casting them into the sea.
19:57The North Risher brought from Asia a holiday of mourning.
20:00Dozens of men paraded the effigies across the town of Pariamant, stopping traffic in
20:04the city centre with the beginning of the Tabuik Festival.
20:07The origins of the festival were brought to western Indonesia by Shiite Muslims, soldiers
20:12from India, on the British rule in the 19th century.
20:15The Risher dramatizes in abstract the battle of Karbala, in modern-day Iraq, where Imam
20:21Hussein and his retinue were killed by a larger army.
