00:01:41slash Still Potable today and subscribe. Today, we've got a classic summertime mailbag. We
00:01:48sent out the call for questions to our great patrons, the kids, the gods, and the legends.
00:01:54They delivered, and we're going to try to jump into as many of them as possible, because
00:01:59it's a lot of stuff, a lot of basketball stuff, a lot of kind of, I would say, tomfoolery
00:02:04and shenanigans. So you boys ready? I'm ready. Do we want to talk about Jalen Brown's Aspie
00:02:11first? Do we want to talk about Jalen Brown and whatever the thing around his neck is
00:02:16making him so he can travel from seemingly Saudi Arabia to Los Angeles and just all over
00:02:22the world and just continue just to show up places? Sure. Let's talk about what was
00:02:27your thoughts on the SBJ?
00:02:28I just want to know why his mom's mad at him. In his acceptance speech for his best championship
00:02:39performance award, he said that his mom is mad at him. So I don't know why. I want to
00:02:46know why.
00:02:47Derek White. Yeah. Could it be, could it be like trying to rain on Derek White's parade?
00:02:52Is that, is that possible?
00:02:53That'd be funny if his mom was just mad at him. Like Jalen, come on, son.
00:03:00You seem pretty disappointed. You disapproved of his tweeting decisions two pods ago. So
00:03:05I think it could be the same thing.
00:03:07So we didn't discuss the next layer of it, which is that he thinks Nike intentionally
00:03:12kept him off because presumably because he spoke out about the company's lack of ethics
00:03:20in 2022. He had a tweet about it, but I think he's done more than that before. Like he he's
00:03:25worn, I believe shoes that like cross the swoosh out on Nike's he's done like more than
00:03:34more than one thing to kind of poopoo on, on Nike. And, uh, do I think Nike decided
00:03:44that Jalen Brown's just should not be on team USA? Yes. You think so? No, but it's fun to
00:03:51say no, I don't think so either. Um, but it's, it is interesting that both he and Kyrie Irving
00:04:00were left off.
00:04:01Is it interesting that Kyrie Irving was left off the team? Kyrie Irving stinks. He doesn't
00:04:08stink, but like, he's not, he shouldn't be on team USA. There's not a, he was not a snub
00:04:13whatsoever. Jalen Brown is like arguably a snub. He was a snub. I think he deserves,
00:04:19has the talent to be there, but I don't think it at all is about his, uh, shoe proclivities.
00:04:27I think, I mean, looking at, and I know you guys hit on this a lot. I agree with what
00:04:32you came out with in terms of how it just was not, I could look for Jalen to, to kind
00:04:36of rain on Derek's parade. But with that said, looking at the roster and I know this roster
00:04:41was set a month ago. I know the rumors were out a month ago that Derek white would be
00:04:45the fill-in for quiet, quiet, couldn't go. But I look at it and be like, why is Jalen
00:04:49Brown not in this team over like Halliburton or even like Devin, dare I say Devin Booker
00:04:56at this point? And I can get him being pissed when it's like Kawhi Leonard is like a two-way
00:05:02wing and you're replacing a two-way wing of size with a guard. And Derek white is a great
00:05:09fit. This team needs defensive guards because I think it's poor roster construction to have
00:05:14Curry Booker and Halliburton, like three guys who can't defend as your guards.
00:05:19And so maybe white solves that problem for them. But in my mind, I can see Jalen be like,
00:05:23what, like, am I never going to be on the Olympic team after this? Like what's, what's
00:05:26the deal here? Do we think that Jalen was dead serious with this stuff or was he on
00:05:33a cross world flight and was just like, I might as well stir some shit up online. He
00:05:39doubled down today though. But also he's like doing it again. I don't know. He no comment
00:05:45in it tonight. So maybe he was asked by Cam Newton of all people about the team USA situation
00:05:53and no comments that he was with his usual. Yeah. Was his beautiful date, his actual beautiful
00:05:59date or the Larry O'Brien trophy. Who do you think he was referencing? I think he was referencing
00:06:04his beautiful date. Well, he's standing there like kind of gestured towards the Larry O'Brien
00:06:09trophy. I think he was probably gesturing toward wherever his new girlfriend was. I
00:06:15think Jason Tatum has been hogging the Larry O'Brien trophy that he's just trying to, you
00:06:19know, he had two beautiful dates. I think he just puts Jason Tatum also in a weird spot
00:06:24to come. Also, if it is all about Nike, cause Jason Tatum's like coming out with a new JT
00:06:29threes, like kind of the poster face of Nike right now. And now Jason Tatum has to answer
00:06:34all these questions about, uh, yeah, I guess Jalen's kind of pissed off. It was sort of
00:06:40an awkward interview when somebody asked him about whether he'd spoken to Jalen. Wasn't
00:06:45it Forsberg? I think I just watched that clip and I thought it was a question and he was like,
00:06:50uh, no. And then was asked, I think about whether it's tough to be without Jalen. And he was like,
00:06:58uh, yeah, last spot could have gone to like a number of people or whatever. And, uh, yeah,
00:07:04we missed it. It was just going to ruin the Celtics guys. I think that's like,
00:07:09is this the big question for a team that had no drama last year? We now have had more drama
00:07:14in the first week of July with this team than we had pretty much the entire season last year.
00:07:20It is, it is. I mean, I don't think it's going to rip apart the Celtics. I don't think Derek
00:07:24white will care at all. I don't think in the end this will make much of a difference,
00:07:30but it is very interesting that Jalen decided not to congratulate Derek white
00:07:36and instead to attack Nike and the team USA selection process.
00:07:42It just, uh, just an interesting move. Well, that's, it's an interesting,
00:07:47maybe, maybe an interesting enough move to piss off his mother. Maybe, perhaps,
00:07:52maybe it ruins the whole like things that happened with the Jays. And that brings us
00:07:55to our first question from Ian Gansler. If you had to handicap, how many titles the Celtics
00:08:01will win with the Jays and the Jays tenure, where would you set the over under good one?
00:08:09It's a good one. So remaining championships over under one and a half, I'm going two and a half,
00:08:15one and a half remaining or one and a half over remaining. Yeah, that's true. Like total or
00:08:18remaining one and a half new championships. Yeah. I think that's the right number.
00:08:26You think one and a half is the over under for new championships? Yeah.
00:08:30It's just hard. I think there is. Yeah. I would probably take the under there. If it was the,
00:08:40if it was just at a half, I would take the, I think they're going to win. Like realistically,
00:08:44if I had to take off my world championship, Boston Celtics shirt right now, I think they'd
00:08:51probably like likely win one more, but it's just, we haven't had a repeat championship at all.
00:08:56While the whole league CBA is like right now, not, you're not supposed to have like
00:09:04that much luxury tax or, uh, and it's designed to not have to have more parody.
00:09:09And so it'd be very impressive. I think they're plenty capable of getting to two, but if I was
00:09:14a betting man, I would bet on one. Um, so that's why I think the one and a half is the good over
00:09:19under line. Yeah, I'd go. I think half a championship is, is over under, and I would
00:09:28probably go, I would go over on that. Um, but I just think it's so hard now to, to build
00:09:37sustainability and like you, you look ahead at the obstacles that they're going to have.
00:09:45Uh, number one, Al Horford is 38 years old already. His, he will diminish at some point
00:09:52through holiday 33. I don't believe that. Presumably, presumably. Um, and then, but then,
00:10:01then there's a $200 million tax bill that's, that's coming. So you got to deal with that.
00:10:07If you stay over a second apron, you're going to start losing future draft picks.
00:10:11Like, like there, there are going to be huge, huge, huge, um, costs to keeping this team together,
00:10:20both monetarily and in the form of lost assets. So I just think it's going to be too hard to,
00:10:27to keep things running. I don't think it's set up anymore to have dynasties.
00:10:34I think the Celtics are fortunate that they do have a window to maybe rattle off
00:10:39another one or another two or whatever before everything really, really, really catches up to
00:10:45them. But, but there's just so much that can tackle you. Um, and a lot depends on how long
00:10:52Tatum and Brown stay together too. Right now, obviously they're, they're set up to stay together
00:10:58for a long, long time. Um, but after this supporting cast is diminished, which it will be
00:11:04because of all the, because of age of guys and because of, um, just the, the monetary
00:11:12commitment that it will take to keep even some of these guys together, then I think they're
00:11:17going to have to emerge and be even better than they were this past season. Like they're going
00:11:22to have to carry even more of a burden and they're not going to be able to have the bad shooting
00:11:26nights that they had. Sometimes they're not going to be able to rely on, you know, their fifth and
00:11:31sixth options being just infinitely better than the fifth and sixth best players on the other
00:11:35team. So that's, that's a long way of saying it's going to be going to be really tough to rattle
00:11:41off a bunch of them. I don't know, as, as a guy who is usually the resident pessimist on this
00:11:47podcast, I'm going over here, I'm going over one and a half. Like, I'm sorry, outside of them being
00:11:55split up in a couple of years for the salary stuff, like, because the team just wants to
00:12:01build, you know, keep the full supporting cast in place around Jason. And, and it's just too
00:12:06costly to keep them together. Like you have two guys in their prime right now that are fully
00:12:12bonded to the team concept and yeah, they're going to lose some pieces, but they also just won the
00:12:15title of pretty much without forcing us. And so with the more age, no, he had a pretty good game
00:12:21one. And then we had a pretty good game one, but like a game and a half out of like, they win that
00:12:27series about forcing us regardless. Is that safe to say in the finals? Yeah, they were much better
00:12:33than they're much better. Yeah. And the, the competition will get better, but it's going to
00:12:38be just as hard for these teams around the league to build, like put the pieces in place. And we
00:12:44know the Knicks are trying to do it. The Sixers are trying to do it, but all those teams have
00:12:46questions. Teams are weakening in the West as we, as we go here, whether it's the nuggets,
00:12:52guys getting old the thunder on or up and coming, but they still are unproven. So give me one in
00:13:00the next two years and then give me one down the road with this group. I like those odds at this
00:13:05point just based on the ages and what they've shown to be able to done to do. And I think
00:13:11one thing that, that makes it difficult to keep winning championships in the NBA is that it's a
00:13:17league that's sort of a copycat league and whatever team wins a championship, the other
00:13:24teams start to look at that and be like, how can we counteract that? And I think you've seen it
00:13:29already. I think the Knicks, like they, they decided, you know, Hartenstein's not our priority.
00:13:34We need to get more wings. Oklahoma city went out and got Caruso. They got Hartenstein, like
00:13:41two, two way guys who can play deep in the playoffs and, and give themselves different
00:13:48options. I just think like it, it becomes harder. Like when the Warriors won the rockets,
00:13:54put together a team that could combat them and they didn't win, but they got really close to
00:14:01knocking off one of the best teams ever by basically deciding we're going to switch everything.
00:14:06We're going to have a lot of big, tough guys and we're going to be the, their kryptonite. And I
00:14:10think that teams, teams do that in the NBA and teams will be more ready. I think for the Celtics,
00:14:19their style, all the threes they take and, and it'll just be a little tougher going forward.
00:14:28This, this was a charm season. It really was.

00:15:58Last minute tickets, lowest price guarantee. Yeah. I mean, it is copycat league. It's also
00:16:04a make or miss league. People forget that. Um, I'm going to combine a couple of questions into
00:16:09this next one. Given what we're all talking about, about future championships. Do you guys right now
00:16:15see the Celtics as the favorites to win the championship next year? I know in Vegas they
00:16:20are, but I feel like every returning champion kind of gets that from Vegas. But do you guys
00:16:25see the Celtics as the absolute favorites to win the championship? And then just question of like,
00:16:31how many games do you think they're going to win in the regular season? Considering all the guys
00:16:36that have played in the Olympics, considering Chris Stapps Porzingis injury, uh, are you going
00:16:40to say people's names here? I'm combining multiple questions. So let's, let's say some names, baby.
00:16:47We got to give the people the credit, uh, scrolling Mike asked about 55 games.
00:16:56Uh, a bunch of people are kind of asked about the dynasties. Grant asked about that.
00:17:01Um, Ben F asked about kind of like Celtics chances of repeating. And I am searching for
00:17:09favorites for next season, but I cannot find it. But once I do, I'll give them credit,
00:17:14but you guys can start by answering the questions. They should absolutely be the favorites. They were
00:17:19far and away the best team all season. Like B-Rob said, they did not need Porzingis for most of the
00:17:24playoffs and just blitzed everybody. The Mavericks emerged from what everybody thought was a tougher
00:17:30Western conference and had no chance against the Celtics. So yes, they should be the favorites.
00:17:35They bring back everybody. Um, they're still young, although Drew and Al are getting older.
00:17:41They're, I don't want to call them bit pieces because that's probably a little demeaning to
00:17:48them, but, but they're not the, the premier players on the team. And I think a lot of the guys might
00:17:57have their best basketball in front of them still. So yes, they should be absolute favorite. 55 is
00:18:06they're going over 55. Like they, they pace themselves this regular season. They sat Porzingis
00:18:15whenever he was mildly injured, they sat Al on back to backs. They like, they did not go all
00:18:23out to win as many games as they could. And they still won 64 games. I think 55 is on a low end.
00:18:29They won 57, um, in Joe Missoula's first season when he was still learning stuff, when they were
00:18:34still learning stuff, when their roster wasn't as good. So I'd go over 55 for sure. Although,
00:18:41um, you know, any injury to Tatum injury to Brown, like sustained absences for those guys
00:18:50could make things more difficult, would make things more difficult. Yeah.
00:18:58So easy favorites for me at this point. And yeah, for that reason I am taking, I do think
00:19:04they, I will take a slight under on the 55 because of the injury. Like you have Porzingis out
00:19:12for, you know, like the baseline for him is probably gonna be 40 games. One more injury
00:19:18there puts you in a little bit of a pickle. Um, and you throw that in with fighting just the East.
00:19:23I think the East is a lot better. I think it's going to be tough to win these games, especially
00:19:27earlier when you don't have Porzingis for the first few months, like you're not going to be
00:19:30able to run away in the standing. So I, I think they could, you could potentially win the Eastern
00:19:37conference when the, with wins in the mid fifties Packer, because it's just like, there's just gonna
00:19:42be a lot of good teams in the top seven, top eight, I feel like. And so that might just might
00:19:46be really competitive at the top. Yeah. And I can see a world where the Celtics are not the best
00:19:53record in the Eastern conference. I don't even the second best. Like I, the Sixers are going to win
00:19:5760 games next year and it's not going to matter. Why are the Sixers going to win 60? Because they're
00:20:01a regular season merchants. That's all. Why are they regular season merchants? I don't believe
00:20:06in this one at all. Yeah, I agree. I'm with Jay in this. They're going to get those guys, George
00:20:10or George has, has missed a ton of games lately. Joel and B cannot be counted on to play 65 games
00:20:17or more. And Tyrese Maxey, when he was the lone guy last year, and I think they had a better
00:20:23supporting cast last year, they were no good. They were terrible. And so I think they're,
00:20:31they're a better team this year. They'll be better in the post season. Will they be a legitimate,
00:20:38will they win a lot of games in a regular season? I'm, I would go way under 60 probably just because
00:20:44of the, the injuries that I'm sure are coming. Well, I'm going to be moving to the city. So they
00:20:49might feed off that kind of weaning vibe. But we got our first Joshua beat. You are a viral,
00:20:54viral tweet guy these days. Yeah. 40,000 likes is not a, it's just a casual Thursday for me,
00:21:00you know? But I knew it was about the tweet. I didn't see any questions about the, about my
00:21:07tweet, but it was a tweet that I sent it. I was like, Oh, did you know it was a banger when you
00:21:12sent it? Yeah. And tell the people what it is. Let's let's let's. Okay. Well, it kind of talks
00:21:17about Jalen Brown tweeting about Nike. He tweeted, I'm not afraid of you and your resources.
00:21:23And I quote tweeted saying me going on a date with a woman who has a job, you know, classic,
00:21:29classic joke there, reading your own tweet out loud. It's hard to get the same delivery there.
00:21:34You have to have the kind of the visual of it, but we're at 41,000 likes now. Shout out to
00:21:40dragonfly Jones. He was an early adopter. I think he really allowed it to spread.
00:21:44Um, but just the notifications, like we're rolling in after five minutes and I knew I
00:21:49knew I had something there. Are you going to promote, attach something to it?
00:21:55Oh, I should probably put still potable underneath that. Uh, I'll do that right now.
00:21:59Um, don't do that. That's no, don't do that today. You don't want that ruins. Like,
00:22:03I hate when people do that. Act like you've been here before. I'm just trying to promote the show
00:22:07guys. You should, you should pull up a fake sound cloud. If you're going to do that,
00:22:11that's the only way to do that. A fake sound cloud. But can it sound cloud just be a link
00:22:16to the show? Can we just be promoting the show on the sound cloud? The still potable intro.
00:22:20Ooh, T-money. Send me a link. Dropbox it. Um, this relates, this is our first Josh B question
00:22:30of the evening. Who do you think we're talking about this, but who do you think the top five
00:22:34contenders are? We all firmly, I think, think the Celtics are number one, but who are your next four
00:22:40in terms of, uh, likely to win the NBA championship? Thunder, um, nuggets,
00:22:52Knicks, and I guess Sixers. I don't know. I feel like even that's a, I'm like,
00:23:02hasn't that you put them in that mix, but, um, yeah, I don't really trust anyone enough
00:23:08in the West to, to throw another team in the West out there yet.
00:23:12I'm still putting the nuggets first. I think there's a lot of room for growth for them from
00:23:18last season, even though they lost KCP. Like when you have Yokage, he's pretty good. Cause
00:23:24it was pretty, pretty big advantage in a lot of, a lot of series, uh, Denver one.
00:23:32I think I'll go Philly after them. And then I I'm still not really buying. Okay. See,
00:23:42as a title contender, I won't do it. You can't make wolves, wolves. No,
00:23:49they were really ready to anoint the wolves, uh, about two months ago. Yeah. That, that faded fast.
00:23:55That faded fast. I can't, I can't put the Knicks up there either.
00:24:04Can I sell you on some Giannis? Giannis is pretty good. Giannis is pretty good. Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:12I think people are under like, I'll throw Dallas. I'll throw Dallas in there again.
00:24:18Why not? I think the, the reason to believe in Dallas,
00:24:23one of the reasons to believe in Dallas is that the final should transform Luka.
00:24:30He should come out of that series knowing I need to be in better shape. I need to be more durable.
00:24:36I need to be better defensively. And if he comes away from that and just transforms himself,
00:24:45evolves, I think there's a chance that, that they'll, they'll end up back in the finals again.
00:24:52But who else did I, did I pick four teams? I can't, I can't find a four.
00:25:01It sounds like I'll put OKC in there. I'll put OKC in there. All the basketball teams
00:25:05are bad. And then there's the Boston Southeast is what I'm, what I'm hearing right now.
00:25:09I feel the thing of OKC is like, they have another trade in them. Like they,
00:25:12they have so much stuff that they can add another guy in the middle of the season to really be like,
00:25:18I think that the luxury tax is going to be a hindrance to them.
00:25:22That's true. That's true. They got oil money. They're sitting on tax money. They can pay.
00:25:28Yeah. That really hasn't been the way they've operated in the past.
00:25:34Do you guys know how the name Sooner became the associated with Oklahoma?
00:25:40Do not know, but I don't care either.
00:25:43Well, I'm going to tell you anyways. So the start of Oklahoma was just existing.
00:25:50They had to, they just did a big old land grab. Like it was basically just like,
00:25:53this is probably the worst podcasting I've ever heard.
00:25:56It's a fascinating story, Jay. If you just fucking listen, you goddamn idiot.
00:26:01So they're just like, at one day, Oklahoma is going to be a state. Everyone just got to run
00:26:06and get some land and then declare that their land is there. And then that that's how we'll
00:26:10determine who gets landed in Oklahoma. And so they like did it. They were like,
00:26:15Oh, they fired the gun. And there's a whole bunch of people who are just already on the
00:26:19land because people had snuck in and they went too soon. So that's why they're Oklahoma Sooners
00:26:24are people who is skirted the rules and got all this land in Oklahoma city.
00:26:30Yeah. Named after cheaters, essentially.
00:26:32Yeah. It's a whole, it's a, it's a basically a thief based society over there in Oklahoma.
00:26:37Is it every, is it every land in this country is thief based society in one way or another?
00:26:42Ooh, Jay King going woke for us. Yeah, you're right.
00:26:46Should this podcast do a land acknowledgement? Um, wow. I wasn't prepared for Jada to come out
00:26:52there with a Howard Zins history of the United States, but here we go. Um, speaking of nonsense
00:26:59questions, this one's from Eli. Would you rather have a tree in your back garden that constantly
00:27:04produces every fruit in the world, the best quality, the best condition, or a trained dinosaur
00:27:12of your choice to ride to work or defend you in battle or whatever? And he said, really,
00:27:19and then puts this in all caps, really think about the implications of each.
00:27:23What kind of dinosaur dinosaur of your choice?
00:27:29I'm going dinosaur. I have to, I don't, I'm not a fruit guy at all.
00:27:32The, the one downside to having your own personal dinosaur would be that, that no dinosaurs would
00:27:39be back and the entire human race could be in trouble, but my train dinosaur would be very
00:27:45helpful. How is the dinosaur going to reproduce? If you only have one who said it's the only one.
00:27:52I just did. I'm making a question that it's the only dinosaur on earth. I would imagine
00:27:57if there's one dinosaur, there's other dinosaurs. He didn't say that there weren't other dinosaurs.
00:28:01You're just making a stipulation that doesn't necessarily try logic here.
00:28:05Yeah. Logic with the dinosaur question, Jay, let's go with that.
00:28:09Yeah. I mean, you still got to follow logic here. He asked us to consider the implications,
00:28:15seriously consider the implications. And one of the implications is that there would likely be
00:28:20dinosaurs. It's a magical world where you can have a dinosaur. I don't think I've ever seen
00:28:25Jurassic park. I have, that's why it's a far fetched magic wizard giving you a dinosaur.
00:28:29I don't think he would create two of them because he knows of the danger.
00:28:33This magic wizard. Well, how do you know that he cares about the danger? How do you know he's not
00:28:39putting this dinosaur on earth specifically to ruin the human race? I'm just saying,
00:28:46I'm going with the fruit tree. The dinosaur is nothing but a world of trouble and potential
00:28:50negative consequences. The fruit tree, you just get some fruit. It's just a low risk bonus. Yeah,
00:28:56but you can make money. It is the best quality fruit in the world. It's a cash cow in your
00:29:01backyard. Every fruit in the world, the best, you don't think a trained dinosaur would be a cash cow.
00:29:08It's dangerous though. It's a far more of a cash cow than fucking fruit.
00:29:17I don't know. It just seems dangerous. I pronounced Ellie, not Eli. That's on me. Hand up
00:29:24B. Rob, you've been eerily silent here on the dinosaur tree question.
00:29:29The easiest question. Fruit, fruit all day. Huge fruit. What fruit though? What would you be your
00:29:35go to friends have no sense of enter? Do you know? I mean, hello. It's a dinosaur event,
00:29:40but I want it would be to just roll up to TD Garden on a fucking T-Rex.
00:29:46And then what do you do with the T-Rex? Yeah, what do you do?
00:29:49You leave it outside. You're going to be liable for damages. That's
00:29:54dinosaur. There will be no damages. It doesn't matter. You're strictly liable for anything he
00:29:58does. That's an inherently dangerous animal. He's trained. So he's just chilling there.
00:30:02People are trying to steal him. It creates so much more headaches than it's worth.
00:30:06I trust my dinosaur. Just enjoy it. I can't believe you guys had a choice of a dinosaur
00:30:14about your family here to Jay. It's like to have fruit. You know how much fruit
00:30:19Grady's going to be eaten in the next two years? It'll be ready. Also, you got a dinosaur that
00:30:24puts a target on your back. You're the dinosaur person. People are trying to steal that dinosaur.
00:30:29It just becomes a whole headache. It's like winning the lottery. He was a dinosaur.
00:30:32Nobody's stealing a T-Rex. My T-Rex will stop you out. That's just how it is.
00:30:38And T-Rex is not the choice. You got to get a dinosaur that can fly.
00:30:42I don't want to fly. I just want to ride my T-Rex.
00:30:46Now we're just talking stupid here. Now we're just being irrational. Don't want to fly like an idiot.
00:30:52This one's from...
00:30:54I'm afraid of heights.
00:30:56I did not know that about you. Makes you less than, but okay.
00:31:01Wait, you're afraid of heights and you want to take a T-Rex around?
00:31:04Yeah.
00:31:05How's that going to work?
00:31:08I'd feel safe on my T-Rex.
00:31:12I thought we were using logic, Jay.
00:31:14This is logic.

00:32:21Pick more, pick less. It's that easy. This one's from Sean Gauthier, esteemed producer.
00:32:28He says he talks about- And new host.
00:32:32Here come the sun.
00:32:33Here come the sun. Check it out.
00:32:34Connecticut sun. WNBA podcast. You got to check it out.
00:32:37He asked about Luke Cornette's shooting potential. He said,
00:32:41if Joe just let it fly, do you think he'd become a legit stretch five in the NBA?
00:32:48And here's my one contention with the question. I don't think Joe is stopping Luke Cornette from
00:32:53taking threes. I feel like Luke Cornette's stopping Luke Cornette from taking threes.
00:32:57Am I wrong here? Am I crazy?
00:33:00I would guess there's been some coaching nudging there.
00:33:05To say don't shoot?
00:33:07Yeah. Yeah. Luke Cornette, the best basketball of his career has very much been since he got
00:33:15rid of the three-pointers, trimmed them dramatically, and started focusing on offensive
00:33:21rebounds, focusing on being just a physical presence, and leaving the shooting to all
00:33:31the much better shooters around him. In a different ecosystem, would Luke Cornette be
00:33:38a guy who gets up five three-pointers a game? Yeah, probably. But in an offense that has
00:33:46seven, like 40%, or highly accurate, highly dangerous three-point shooters everywhere else,
00:33:55I don't want, I would not want Luke Cornette shooting three-pointers.
00:34:00He's right to taper it down. Every once in a while, cool, let it fly. But there's no way he
00:34:06should be going back to what he was earlier in his career. He's been much better, much more
00:34:12impactful since getting rid of that. It's funny you get, like, Sean asked this question because,
00:34:19and actually, I asked Luke about this during this past season. I'm probably at some point going to
00:34:24never got around to writing the article on it, but he was very introspective talking about, like,
00:34:28the transition here. And Jay's right, like, but certainly in Boston, the direction has been like,
00:34:35we need you more in the paint, and that's clearly where he's more impactful with the offensive
00:34:41rebounding. But in Cornette's career, he just wasn't a good enough three-point shooter to,
00:34:46like, live and die with that. So he said he just, like, I want to be better in other parts of my
00:34:52game. Like, I can't be relying on that. Like, I need to do other stuff better. I need to be,
00:34:57use my size for offensive rebounding, et cetera. And so, yeah, it was like once he was pretty much
00:35:03on the fringes of the league, it seems like he just decided for himself, like, I need to,
00:35:09I'm better around the hoop rather than hooking them up from three all game.
00:35:14And this is not a guy who's shot a good percentage in his career. 32.3%
00:35:19for his career. He was 35% as a rookie, 36% in his second year, and has not been 30% in any year
00:35:28since, unless you want to include his one-for-one this past season. I'm including it. Which I
00:35:32believe was in the final game of the regular season, or one of the last games of the regular
00:35:37season. So he's not a very good shooter. He's better at everything else. And he wasn't rebounding.
00:35:44Luke is very in tune with the numbers, like insanely in tune with the numbers. He is driven,
00:35:50his game is driven by the analytics. And I think in this case, he's much better at focusing on
00:35:57shooting like 70% on twos or whatever. Yeah. 70%. What about the analytics that threes are worth
00:36:04more than twos and he can just pop out and shoot one occasionally? I'm not saying change your whole
00:36:09percent on them and you shoot 70% on twos. What math are you using where that works?
00:36:17Fight about math again? Yeah. That was one of the questions. One of the questions was,
00:36:23how much nerd shit have you done today? Let's fight about math again.
00:36:27So what nerdy stuff did you do today, Jay? I don't do nerd shit.
00:36:32I knew that was going to be the answer. So it was fun to ask that.
00:36:39Who asked that question?
00:36:42A good question. Drew. Drew asked that one. Drew asked that question.
00:36:48This next question is from Sarah. I think it's a interesting one. Do we know how much owners
00:36:56have to pay for the luxury tax versus how much is covered for the profits from owning the team?
00:37:03How much transparency do reporters get in terms of those team finances?
00:37:10I saw that question and I realized I have no idea.
00:37:15Well, at the end of every year, they give us their books for an audit.
00:37:23It would be awesome. Salary cap, contracts, it is. It's like so much of the NBA for reporters
00:37:30and now fans, it's out there. You can get into the minutiae, which is great.
00:37:34But going behind the books, I know some things about how the Southwicks operate. I'm sure Jay
00:37:40does too. You probably have heard stuff too, Packer. For instance, the Southwicks don't get
00:37:45money for the concessions at TD Garden because the Bruins own the building.
00:37:49And they probably are earning, when they have home playoff games, that's probably
00:37:55close to tens of millions of dollars in extra revenue there for a finals run easily for the
00:38:01gate and stuff like that. But as far as the behind the scenes stuff, we do not know that. And I think
00:38:07it's safe to say the Southwicks are profitable, but how profitable probably just depends on the
00:38:11year. And I know from the CBA that the majority of the money that they get either from anything
00:38:22they get into what's called basketball-related income, they have to split with the players
00:38:2750-50. And that's how the salary cap works. And then that's negotiated from the CBA.
00:38:33And so I don't know what other income that qualifies as non-basketball related that they
00:38:39don't necessarily have to split. But a lot of the stuff, like all the rights they get from TV deals
00:38:45or revenue sharing they get from luxury tax payments or things like that, it goes back into
00:38:53the players at least somehow. And it's interesting when anytime there's a labor
00:39:01short negotiation, they claim five of the 10 teams are just not profitable.
00:39:08And so you hear about these smaller market teams not being profitable. I would imagine the
00:39:11Southwicks, especially in a championship year, are extremely profitable. But I think they have to
00:39:16pay. I think just with the evaluation and stuff like that, I don't know. I'm trying to sound
00:39:22smart about this, but I don't know. I don't know how the finances work. Jay, I'm sure you got a
00:39:28lock on this stuff. As smart as I am with numbers, I don't know every detail of this stuff either.
00:39:37All right. We got a question from Kurt, Jay, since you're so smart with numbers.
00:39:42Solution X is 10% alcohol by volume and Solution Y is 30% alcohol by volume.
00:39:50How many milliliters of Solution Y must be added to 200 milliliters of Solution X
00:39:58to create a solution that is 25% alcohol by volume?
00:40:06It's a multiple choice.
00:40:08Okay, good.
00:40:09A, 250 thirds over three. B, 500 thirds. C, 480. D, 600.
00:40:20600 D.
00:40:24Give me B.
00:40:25No, it's D.
00:40:26You want to explain your math?
00:40:29I saw this earlier. I did the math. It's D, 600.
00:40:32Can you talk us through, show your work? You got to get full credit on the test. You got
00:40:36to show your work. Cross multiply. You do some cross multiplication here.
00:40:40Did you see this earlier and do it out and write it out with a pencil?
00:40:43I did it in my head, but yeah, I did it earlier.
00:40:46Can you just explain how you did it fucking Goodwill hunting over here? Like, yo, I just did it.
00:40:51So it's 200 milliliters at 10%, right?
00:40:55Correct.
00:40:56So that's 20 milliliters of alcohol.
00:41:01So then 600 at 30% is 180 of alcohol, right?
00:41:11Yep.
00:41:11And then so you add 20 plus 180 is 200, 800, which is 200 plus 600 and that's 25%.
00:41:20Therefore, it's D, 600.
00:41:27I think he's right. I can't say anything.
00:41:30Makes sense to me.
00:41:31I was, I hope he's wrong. I hope Kurt's over there just laughing at us, but
00:41:36the math was mapping in my brain. That's a cross multiplication right there. Well done, sir.
00:41:42I got called out and I was ready.
00:41:46That's good stuff.
00:41:49I try to tell you I'm a prodigy.
00:41:53And then just does that in his head right there.
00:41:54Geez.
00:41:55No, no, no. That's what he did in his head.
00:41:58I did it in my head. It was in my head.
00:42:00All right.
00:42:02Got some Anton Watson talk from Paul.
00:42:06Is his two-way contract in doubt? Why is he not signed yet?
00:42:09Is there anyone on the summer league roster that gives you question that
00:42:12Watson will be offered a contract?
00:42:14And will Brad steal another team summer league roster for the,
00:42:17I guess, the last two-way player?
00:42:19What's the deal with him not being signed, guys?
00:42:21Yeah, it's, I imagine they, there's no harm in keeping their options open.
00:42:27I, like, I would think that something would have to be, go very, very wrong for him,
00:42:32for him not to be that guy, given how high the team has been on him.
00:42:38But perhaps there is, you know, you want to keep the door open somewhat.
00:42:43So other guys have a reason to play for your team.
00:42:47Other guys have a reason to play for your team.
00:42:50So you have a roster spot available.
00:42:51He's a training camp slot available.
00:42:52I'm not sure. I mean, that's, who knows?
00:42:55Like maybe they'll just come out and sign him before summer league begins the next day or two.
00:43:00But they also might want to see how he looks.
00:43:03I don't know.
00:43:05I would guess he'll be on a two-way contract.
00:43:08And most of the time, like a lot of this is procedural.
00:43:12You sign your guy later on.
00:43:14But from what's been said, I would guess that Watson will end up being on a two-way contract.
00:43:21And even if he's not, like in the past, you can remember when, was it Max Struess?
00:43:29Max Struess got signed and was in a battle for a roster spot.
00:43:37They actually gave him the full two-way contract before waiving him.
00:43:41Right.
00:43:42That was the old Taco Fog in the league.
00:43:43Or create him an enemy.
00:43:44Yeah.
00:43:45Which is like just, I think, just as solid to him and his agent.
00:43:48Yeah.
00:43:50And I don't think this is going to be like that.
00:43:53I think Watson, usually when you draft a guy, it's either with the idea that
00:44:00he'll be a drafting stash or you know, like he'll probably be on a two-way contract
00:44:06or he'll be on an NBA deal.
00:44:07Like a lot of the time, it's either that or he'll be on a two-way contract.
00:44:12So a lot of those things are known before you draft a guy.
00:44:16Right.
00:44:16And I think it's pretty, to Jay's point, like it's pretty normal.
00:44:18Like in past years, like they'll sign these guys like JD Davison, I think,
00:44:23signed to a two-way deal a couple years ago, like as a rookie, like during
00:44:28summer league or right after summer league.
00:44:29So that's pretty normal timing that he wouldn't necessarily be signed yet,
00:44:33even though, you know, they've already filled their other two-way slots.
00:44:37Fiondu Cabangeli just rocking out with Team Canada against USA.
00:44:44I enjoyed that appearance late in that game.
00:44:48Where was he this past year?
00:44:49I wasn't ready for that.
00:44:50I didn't know he was on the roster.
00:44:52Yeah.
00:44:53And all of a sudden, Canada just, with like a 10-point game, decided to play
00:44:58its end of bench guys.
00:44:59I was like, that looks like, that sure looks like Fiondu Cabangeli.
00:45:03He was in Athens.
00:45:05It was.
00:45:06He's in AEK Athens.
00:45:07So shout out to Cabangeli.
00:45:11Jason Tatum looked good in that, that game, by the way.
00:45:14Not, not that it really matters because everyone knows Jason Tatum is great.
00:45:18Um, I thought he was talking about his haircut.
00:45:20He was one of the, he was one of the best Team USA players easily in that game.
00:45:27Just adamant about getting to the rim, finishing there or making good passes.
00:45:33Looked fantastic.
00:45:33Drew looked great too.
00:45:35And it'll be Derek White.
00:45:36Not chillin' Brown.
00:45:38Join them shortly.
00:45:41Pressure before selects there.
00:45:45Perhaps, uh, Josh B pointed out a good point.
00:45:47How do they have three Olympians, but not three all-stars?
00:45:50But the retort to that, everyone in the world is including the all-star game.
00:45:55This is just America.
00:45:56So it's a, it's a different pool, but it's a nice snarky question.
00:46:00I appreciated it from Josh B.
00:46:02Also two non-all-stars on the, the Team USA.
00:46:09Drew and Derek White.
00:46:11The only two?
00:46:14Yeah.
00:46:14Are they?
00:46:15Yeah.
00:46:17Yeah.
00:46:18There's questions from Matt Byrne.
00:46:21How much involvement does the team have with players during the off season?
00:46:26Like how detailed is the plan for like stuff they need to work on
00:46:30when a player comes back for the summer?
00:46:31How much credit is that going to like the team?
00:46:34Or is that the player doing individual stuff?
00:46:36What's the relationship between the team and the players, uh, during the summer months?
00:46:42There's usually a lot of, of back and forth.
00:46:46And I mean, it begins when they sit down shortly after the season
00:46:50and go over what they think a player should do.
00:46:54Um, you know, what, uh, basically a plan for the player over the summer.
00:46:59Then if, if you're a young guy, you're probably going to spend most of your summer in Boston,
00:47:03where you're around the facility, where you're around the coaches.
00:47:06If you're an older, more established guy,
00:47:08one of your coaches will probably fly out to you and spend a lot of time wherever you are.
00:47:13Um, so there's, there's a lot of work to be done.
00:47:18And they are very much in harmony with the players,
00:47:22most players, at least throughout, throughout the summers.
00:47:25Yeah.
00:47:25I feel like that part of it's grown a lot in the last like five, 10 years.
00:47:28Like the assistant coach, everyone has a guy that you go visit,
00:47:31like even, and even Missoula will go out visit with most guys
00:47:35at some point over the course of the summer, um, in the last year or two.
00:47:38So that's that type of outreach.
00:47:40The involvement of teams is just growing more and more.
00:47:43And now you look even this year, like Jayden Springer,
00:47:45a fourth year guy is playing summer league.
00:47:49Probably because the team asked him to,
00:47:50and he knows that's probably his only chance of getting minutes.
00:47:53So like there, the story stuff is just growing and growing as,
00:47:58um, the years goes on, it seems like.
00:48:01Yeah.
00:48:01And it's interesting.
00:48:02It's like, you gotta be like, have some tenure in the league to earn your ability
00:48:07to work out, not in Boston.
00:48:09Like all the younger guys or all the guys are in the summer league
00:48:11or will probably be in Boston, like working out at the RBAC center all summer.
00:48:15But then the coaching staffs are pretty big.
00:48:18They also have like player development staffs.
00:48:20And I just know this from like talking to Nick, Nick Friedman,
00:48:25him and Terry Rozier, like we're very close.
00:48:27And he would just like, he would go to once Terry got to a level
00:48:30where he could like be wherever he wanted to,
00:48:33Nick would fly out and just like work them out for like multiple times in the summer.
00:48:37And so, and Nick would be in contact with the Hornets
00:48:40because he was working for the Hornets.
00:48:41And so they have all these like development plans that get put into place
00:48:44and they have coaches who come out and work with them.
00:48:46So I do think there's like a lot of thought and work that goes into.
00:48:50Like, this is what we want you to work on.
00:48:52It's this type of action.
00:48:53It's learning how to do this or read this certain play
00:48:56or just different fitness levels and things like that.
00:49:00So I think you gotta give a lot of credits to the players
00:49:03for putting like working in the off season.
00:49:05But there's a lot of thought and planning that goes on
00:49:08and involved into that kind of that process.
00:49:10And they'll, they'll collaborate with the trainers too.
00:49:12Like the players, trainers, the personal trainers, like Drew Hanlon.
00:49:16I'm sure they're talking to him about the workouts
00:49:19that he's putting together for Jason Tatum.
00:49:21How, how can they get on the same page?
00:49:23So there's, there's really a lot that goes into it.
00:49:26And I think honestly, like that's probably one of the ways
00:49:30organizations set themselves apart is just with their daily plans,
00:49:34how they work, the type of work that they put guys through.
00:49:39Because that's how you develop guys.
00:49:41That's how guys improve.
00:49:43And I think like Joe, Joe, he overhauled a lot of that stuff
00:49:49prior to last season.
00:49:51Um, kind of, kind of changed the way the Celtics operated.
00:49:54And I think it probably, probably worked out pretty well.
00:49:57Um, and we'll see if, if it continues to, to do so in the future.
00:50:04Uh, Jay, I know you gotta go, but real quick, another question from Ellie.
00:50:07If me and you fought medieval style melee, what weapons would you choose?
00:50:13And who's winning?
00:50:14You're going to say you medieval style.
00:50:16Melee.
00:50:17Yeah.
00:50:19I wouldn't need weapons.
00:50:21And I have weapons and you don't have weapons.
00:50:23I would, I would destroy you with my bare hands.
00:50:26Get out of here.
00:50:27Leave.
00:50:27Go feed your child.
00:50:28It's nonsense.
00:50:29I don't want to hear from you anymore.
00:50:30Mute his mic.
00:50:31These are the only two weapons I would need right here.
00:50:33Jack Johnson.
00:50:36I can have a ball with a bunch of spikes on it.
00:50:38Just hit you in the head.
00:50:40I have a long sore.
00:50:41What are you talking about?
00:50:41You don't need a weapon.
00:50:42You're a fucking idiot.
00:50:44I wouldn't need a weapon.
00:50:45Medieval weapons.
00:50:46You think, you think you're those big old balls.
00:50:50You could barely with the spikes on those big old spike.
00:50:54You rock your dome with profane language.
00:50:56That'd be you down.
00:50:58I'd be like the dude in game of Thrones.
00:50:59Like just popping your eyeballs out with my two thumbs.
00:51:03Didn't that guy lose?
00:51:06Yeah, but I'd want his head.
00:51:07He got his head split open.
00:51:08That's not a great example of breakup.
00:51:10The mountain completely split open that guy's head.
00:51:13Yeah, but you don't, you're not the mountain.
00:51:15Yeah, but give me, give me the whole off season.
00:51:17I'll add 12 pounds of muscle and you'd be done for.
00:51:21Didn't you say it was only eight?
00:51:23You can do a lot more than 12 pounds.
00:51:24You got to count the water weight.
00:51:26The mess of me.
00:51:27I got to run and feed my baby boy, but I love you guys.
00:51:31Love you.
00:51:31The kids, the guys and legends.
00:51:33And I would definitely whip backers ass with, with no weapons.
00:51:37Thanks, Jay.
00:51:38What a sign off.
00:51:39Jay King, everyone.
00:51:45Oh, I'm just looking through it like more, more questions here.
00:51:51Josh, I feel like he, of course, Josh B did his thing and answered a lot,
00:51:54but I think we covered a lot of it.
00:51:58Do we need a new podcast intro for banner 19?
00:52:01Does the original podcast intro mentioned banner 18 in the lyrics?
00:52:04I got to go back and listen to it.
00:52:06To be honest, like it mentions K to labs.
00:52:08I was so happy when Kate every sign.
00:52:09So he didn't have to change.
00:52:10Yeah.
00:52:10Like you don't have to add any new names.
00:52:12That's pretty team.
00:52:13And I mean, I bet he'll come up with something regardless if we want to,
00:52:16but then the original is just so good.
00:52:18You might just have to read if it.
00:52:21Yeah.
00:52:21I'm just scrolling for some, some additional questions here, but.
00:52:28We can't, I think we can.
00:52:30We can't.
00:52:31If they did get an unprotected first round pick for Sam Houser,
00:52:34would that pick be frozen in the back half of the draft from Josh B?
00:52:39Yeah.
00:52:39So the no, that's just because of the second apron.
00:52:43Yeah.
00:52:43So if you get, if they get a draft pick from someone else, like that is not.
00:52:49The second apron does not impact that at all.
00:52:51It only is your own draft picks.
00:52:53And.
00:52:54It's, it sounds scary, all this stuff with the second apron with the draft picks,
00:52:59but ultimately if you're winning, if you're regularly contending,
00:53:03it's not a big deal in my mind.
00:53:04Cause all, all it does for like, whatever, I think it's like seven years out.
00:53:08You can't trade your own draft picks.
00:53:11So obviously that limits how many, you know, you can't trade two, three
00:53:15unprotected draft picks.
00:53:16You can't trade two, three unprotected draft picks.
00:53:19You can't trade two, three unprotected draft picks.
00:53:21You know, you can't trade two, three unprotected draft picks in the future.
00:53:25If you like those picks are frozen.
00:53:26And then ultimately if you're over the second apron, I think it's like two years in a row
00:53:31or like two out of three or something like that, then that pick automatically
00:53:35goes to the end of the first round.
00:53:36So it's not like you ever lose the pick itself.
00:53:40You just have that pick and you know, it's going to be like 30 for maybe a year or two,
00:53:45which guess what?
00:53:46That's your own pick, right?
00:53:47That's your own pick.
00:53:48So if you acquire some other pick, it's going to go wherever that team.
00:53:52So that's exactly if you acquire a pick from another team, that's never going to be affected
00:53:54by the second apron.
00:53:55That's always going to stand out.
00:53:56And so it's only going to be dependent on the other team.
00:53:58It's only your picks that can be impacted by being in the second apron for a while.
00:54:03And so even if that happens, it's like, okay, I'm contending.
00:54:08Do I care if my picks 26 or 30th?
00:54:10Like, no, like if that, that, that probably isn't going to be a main deterrent for any
00:54:15team to get out of there.
00:54:16It's all, I think it's all going to come down to the money part of it, as opposed to the
00:54:20the team building part of it.
00:54:22Yeah.
00:54:23So, and I don't think they're going to trade Sam Hauser for a first round pick, but it's
00:54:29good to know what would happen if they did.
00:54:31Let's go out of here on this one.
00:54:32Another one from Ellie who really brought the heat today.
00:54:36A lot of good questions.
00:54:38Some we don't even have time to get to, but if you could have one hour of honest conversation
00:54:43with anyone living or dead, who would you choose to talk to?
00:54:47And what would you ask them?
00:54:48This is putting on the spot because I don't think this was on our, our list beforehand.
00:54:52And so while I'll give you time to think about it, because Josh would be answered.
00:54:56And so I want to give Joshua B response.
00:54:58He said he would talk to Alexander Hamilton and ask why the founders wouldn't put term
00:55:04limits on Supreme Court justices and Congress if we're putting them on the president.
00:55:10And he would ask, do time machines exist in the afterlife?
00:55:13And if so, can he fix that?
00:55:16And then what does he think of Hamilton, the musical?
00:55:18And I just wanted to give Joshua B's answer there.
00:55:20The founders did not put term limits on the president.
00:55:23That was an amendment added later post FDR because FDR was like four or five different
00:55:31presidents.
00:55:32And so, and I think Alexander Hamilton would say we designed the document so it could be
00:55:37amended and he would be really pissed off that we don't do a lot of amending of the
00:55:42constitution.
00:55:42But B Rob, who would you talk to for an hour?
00:55:46Anyone?
00:55:46An hour.
00:55:47Yeah, you've only an hour of conversation.
00:55:49Anyone living or dead.
00:55:52And I hope you got an answer because I got nothing.
00:55:54Right?
00:55:54Yeah.
00:55:54Like I'm like, I'm just like thinking in my head of like what type of, I guess, like
00:56:00I'd want to talk to someone that I haven't had a chance to hear from that has done something
00:56:06amazing.
00:56:06Like in my head, things pop up like an Einstein or like an Edison or something like that.
00:56:10Someone like some super genius that like, like take me through what you're thinking
00:56:16here.
00:56:16And like what, like that's the sort of stuff that would like.
00:56:19But you also risk talking to Einstein and I were, none of us are mathematicians like
00:56:23Jay King, but what if he's just says something that's true that way over your head?
00:56:27And it's like, I got no, I don't know how we're doing this.
00:56:30You know, those might not be personally, like you might be done with that conversation in
00:56:33five minutes.
00:56:33So that is a risk.
00:56:35Yeah.
00:56:35I have to like, that's, that's a tough one because that's, I feel like any other answer
00:56:41I'm going to put in there, I'm going to second guess immediately.
00:56:44Talk myself out of like, what do you, are you, do you want to listen?
00:56:48Do you want to talk to someone who's done something cool in general or just someone
00:56:53from just a time, like a part of the world that you just want to know more about back
00:56:58in time?
00:56:59Cause you want to know a little bit about like what was going on and stuff, but like,
00:57:03do you want to do something with something that's like, who's done something that's
00:57:06pretty well documented that you already know a lot about.
00:57:09So then you can have kind of like a frame of reference or do you want to have someone
00:57:12you don't know anything about and like learn something new, but then only it is an hour,
00:57:16just not enough time.
00:57:18Like, what if you just want to go back and talk to like your great, great grandfather
00:57:22and see like, yeah, that's a good family.
00:57:26Your family from like a hundred, 150 years ago.
00:57:28Yeah.
00:57:30So I don't know.
00:57:32It's a good question.
00:57:33I'll, I'll, I'll think on that one.
00:57:35Cause I don't know.
00:57:37Yeah.
00:57:39All right.
00:57:39Well, here's the prediction.
00:57:40What would Jay's answer be?
00:57:45Um, he'll go back and talk to which basketball player, right?
00:57:52Jay would probably surprise us with something like nice and very, very sentimental answer.
00:57:57Like Bill Russell and his prime or something like that.
00:57:59Yeah.
00:58:00I don't know.
00:58:03It's a good question.
00:58:05A lot of good questions here today.
00:58:06A lot of good content we produced in this last hour.
00:58:09Uh, if you guys enjoyed the mailbag, please.
00:58:13And if you want more, uh, content from the Olympics, from summer league, uh, from everything
00:58:18going on in the world of the Celtics, please go to patreon.com slash still potable.
00:58:23We appreciate all the questions we got today.
00:58:27Josh B, I'm sorry.
00:58:28We didn't get to all of your questions.
00:58:30I'm just going to answer some of them quick.
00:58:31Can Jordan Walsh take over O'Shea Bursette's role in minutes?
00:58:34I don't think Jordan Walsh is there yet.
00:58:36Should we take anything that happens on Fox sports?
00:58:38One seriously because they employ Nick, right?
00:58:41Sure.
00:58:42It's Fox sports one.
00:58:43And I happen to enjoy Nick, right?
00:58:44I think he's, uh, I think he's amusing.
00:58:47Um,
00:58:50we've answered a lot of other questions from Josh, but we appreciate the questions from
00:58:54everyone from the kids, the gods and legends appreciate Jay King, even though he said he
00:58:58would beat me in a fight when I had weapons and he didn't completely irrational.
00:59:02His answers about the dinosaur made no sense.
00:59:04Uh, appreciate you being.
00:59:06Would you use your weapons, by the way?
00:59:08I'm telling you, that spike on a that's it seems awesome.
00:59:13Um, it's num chucks seem cool.
00:59:16Uh, I don't know.
00:59:18I'm not I'm not like an expert in medieval weaponry, but I think I could beat the guy
00:59:23with no weapons.
00:59:24Uh, I think I'll be able to take him down.
00:59:28Uh, we did get a question trying to compare the Celtics to the members of the Avengers.
00:59:34And I just am out of my league there.
00:59:35Are you?
00:59:36Are you a Marvel?
00:59:36Like, I don't go deep on the Avengers, so I can I can make good comparisons there, even
00:59:41though I feel like there were some, I feel like that was done at some point on Celtics
00:59:46Twitter where everyone had their.
00:59:50Yeah, that might be the way to go.
00:59:54I think it I just don't know.
00:59:56I'm just don't I've never I've seen one Marvel movie to Marvel movies.
01:00:00I saw Black Panther, and then I saw like Endgame, where it was just like the mashing
01:00:06of 17 different movies together, and it was confusing.
01:00:10And so I don't think I, uh, I liked it as much as maybe I should.
01:00:15Um, that's gonna do it for us, folks.
01:00:18I keep going back because I feel like we're missing out on questions, but we've done a
01:00:21fair amount and we'll have plenty of mailbags for the rest of summer.
01:00:24So if we, I, if we didn't get to your question now, uh, apologize, we'll try to do our best
01:00:29to get to it next time.
01:00:31We appreciate everyone for listening to this episode of Still Potable.
01:00:37Still Potable!
01:00:39Still Potable!
01:00:41Still Potable!
01:00:43Still Potable!
01:00:45Oh yeah!
01:00:47Still Potable!
01:00:49Still Potable!
01:00:51Slow down from eating and drinking and all that wild stuff.
