00:00It's winter holiday time on the island of Sodor.
00:05It's very cold, but the engines don't mind.
00:09They love this time of the year when the stations look jolly in their decorations.
00:14There is plenty of work with passengers and parcels to be delivered, no matter what the weather.
00:22Driver says there's more snow on the way, said Edward.
00:26We'll soon be wearing our snowplows, said James.
00:29You'll enjoy that, won't you, Thomas? teased Henry.
00:32You know I won't, said Thomas. I don't like my snowplow.
00:42Sure enough, that night the wind blew and the snow fell heavily.
00:52The next morning the Fat Controller arrived.
00:55He told the engines they were to have snowplows fitted.
00:59And you are to collect something special from Callan Station.
01:03It's needed for the village feast on Toby's branch line.
01:07Thomas was excited about his special, but not about his snowplow.
01:11Please, sir, my plow is awkward and uncomfortable. Do I have to wear it?
01:16Everyone has to wear a snowplow, said the Fat Controller.
01:22The fitters, his driver and firemen all helped with Thomas' snowplow.
01:27We'll have to try that again, laughed his driver.
01:30Big, horrid, awkward thing, Thomas grumbled.
01:33He was much happier when he arrived at Callan Station and saw his special.
01:38It was a beautiful Christmas tree.
01:40The tree's to have lights and stand in the middle of the village, said Edward.
01:44Make sure you get it to Toby safely.
01:46I will, said Thomas.
02:00Thomas arrived at Maithwaite and Toby was very happy to see him.
02:05The villagers will be delighted with this tree, Toby said.
02:09I'm glad you have your snowplow. I can't clear the snowdrifts by myself.
02:14Thomas couldn't see there was a huge rock buried under the snow.
02:32Suddenly, his snowplow hit the rock.
02:35Bouncing buffers, exclaimed Thomas. My plow is broken.
02:41His driver tried to stop but the broken plow hit the water tower.
02:47Cinders and ashes, exclaimed Thomas.
02:52We can't go any further, said Thomas' driver.
02:55And there's no one to help us.
02:57But the villagers need their tree, said Thomas.
02:59Let me try again. I'm sure I can make it.
03:05It wasn't easy without a snowplow but Thomas was determined.
03:10He pushed and he pushed and he pushed.
03:25Thomas was trying as hard as he could but there was just one snowdrift after another.
03:41Finally, Thomas and Toby were pulling into the village station.
03:46Thomas whistled and the villagers cheered when they saw their beautiful tree.
03:51Hoorah, they said. Hoorah!
03:56The next day, the Fat Controller sent for Thomas.
03:59Thomas was worried. What would the Fat Controller say about his broken snowplow?
04:04But the Fat Controller wasn't cross. He was very pleased.
04:08The villagers had a wonderful feast, he said.
04:10You were very brave to take on that snow without a plow.
04:13Thank you, sir, said Thomas happily.
04:16As you know, continued the Fat Controller,
04:18there are no spare snowplows so you'll just have to do without yours for a while.
04:23Oh, thank you, sir, grinned Thomas.
