00:00The engines on the island of Sodor look forward to Halloween.
00:06They love the Fat Controller's fireworks
00:10and the children dressing up as wizards and witches.
00:16They also love Edward's spooky stories.
00:22They say that on Halloween the ghost engine returns to the smelters
00:27looking for his lost whistle.
00:31Oh, ah, spooky!
00:34the engines said, all shivering a little.
00:37Later the Fat Controller arrived.
00:39Thomas, Percy and Duck, I have a special job for you, he said.
00:43You are to collect some scrap from the smelters' yard tonight.
00:47On Halloween?
00:49Don't worry, you will be back in time for the fireworks.
00:53Percy isn't worried about missing the fireworks, teased Thomas.
00:56He's a scaredy engine.

01:05At the smelters, all Percy could think about was Edward's ghost engine.
01:14Thomas knew Percy was scared, so he teased him even more.
01:18What's that up there? Thomas squeaked.

01:28Thomas was having fun. He kept on teasing Percy.

01:39Duck felt sorry for Percy.
01:42Nobody's brave all the time, said Duck.
01:45But I'm not a scaredy engine, Percy insisted.

01:52Well done, the yard manager said.

01:57Duck wanted to pay Thomas back for all his teasing.

02:08So Duck and Percy left.
02:12When Thomas was by himself, every sound and every shadow was spooky.
02:22He was beginning to feel very scared.
02:25There's no such things as ghosts, he said nervously.

02:31Thomas was so busy looking for ghosts, he didn't watch where he was going.
02:37The chains felt like ghost fingers.
02:41Something's got me!
02:43Thomas wheezed and set off an old steam whistle.
02:47The ghost whistle, said Thomas.
02:51And he raced away as fast as his wheels could go.
02:55He was so scared, he said.

03:08The ghost engine is after me!
03:13It was naughty of Thomas to tease you, Percy, said Duck.
03:17He was only playing, said Percy. I hope he hurries up.
03:20I wouldn't want him to be late for the fireworks.

03:27I don't think he'll be late, said Duck.
03:32Duck and Percy joined the other engines for the fireworks.
03:39Where's Thomas? Percy asked.
03:41He'll miss all the fun!
03:43It would serve him right after all his teasing, Duck said.
03:46But Percy was worried.
03:49He went to look for his friend.
03:57He found Thomas all alone in the shed.
04:00Are you all right, Thomas? he said.
04:03Yes, I'm sorry I teased you, Percy, Thomas said.
04:07Duck was right. We all feel scared sometimes.
04:11And we all have to say sorry sometimes, said his friend.
04:15So come on, Thomas. We can watch the fireworks just as well from here.
