00:00It's summer holiday time on the island of Sodor. Holidaymakers come from far and wide to enjoy the beauty of the island.
00:12It's the busiest time of the year for the Fat Controller's engines.
00:18Thomas was excited. The Fat Controller had sent him to pick up a special to deliver to Dryor Airfield.
00:25What have you got there? Tooted Percy.
00:28A balloon, replied Thomas. A party balloon? Asked Percy excitedly.
00:32No, said Thomas. This is a very special balloon and he chuffed away.
00:39Soon, Thomas arrived at the airfield.
00:44And hot air was puffed into the balloon.
00:55What is that? Huffed James.
01:07A hot air balloon, said Thomas. It will take holidaymakers on rides around the island.
01:13Taking holidaymakers on rides around the island is our job, wheezed James jealously.
01:18Then, as if by magic, the hot air balloon rose silently up into the sky.
01:26What if the hot air balloon takes our passengers away? Chuffed James.
01:30What will happen to us then?
01:38This made Thomas worry. Suddenly, he wasn't so excited about the balloon.
01:44The balloon could be seen by everyone on the island of Sodor.
01:48Duck gazed at it for so long, he ran into the back of Stepney.
01:55Why, tis a floating basket with folk in it, said Donald.
02:00Whatever will they dream up next? Said Douglas.
02:07James and Thomas were waiting at the level crossing.
02:10They were still worried about the hot air balloon.
02:13If it takes our passengers away, chuffed Thomas, there'll be no use for us engines.
02:18Passengers should travel on trains, huffed James, not in silly balloons.
02:24Then something big and round and red rifted straight towards them.
02:30We're out of hot air, shouted a voice.
02:35Aargh! cried James. What's happening?
02:39Crash! Bang! Wallop! went the balloon and landed right on top of James.
02:44He was so scared, he let out a huge burst of steam,
02:50which blew the balloon up again.
02:54The balloon rose into the air once more.
02:58Well done, James, called his driver. Your hot air did the trick.
03:03Oh no, James, cried Thomas. You saved the hot air balloon.
03:08I didn't mean to, groaned James. Now it's sure to take our passengers.
03:13Wherever James went, he could see the balloon carrying holidaymakers across the island.
03:18He felt he should be taking those passengers. Rails are better than hot air any day.
03:24James arrived back at the station.
03:26There were lots of people on the platform.
03:28A fat controller was waiting too.
03:31Well done, James, he said.
03:33But now the passengers are gone.
03:35The fat controller laughed.
03:37You're right, James, he said. But they will need a ride home.
03:40In a train.
03:42James was delighted.
03:46The fat controller was right.
03:48The engines were busier than ever,
03:51taking holidaymakers to and from the airfield.
03:56The hot air balloon was ready to go.
03:59The engines were busier than ever,
04:01taking holidaymakers to and from the airfield.
04:09Whenever James sees the red balloon, he whistles and toots.
04:14And sometimes, when he's asleep at night, James dreams he can fly too.
04:20Just like the red balloon.
