00:00Thomas in trouble. It was a busy day for the engines on the Fat Controller's railway.
00:10Gordon was taking passengers across the island. He felt magnificent.
00:17Henry was delivering logs to the timber yards. He was right on time.
00:26Percy was pleased to be pulling mail trucks.
00:32James was happy hauling flatbeds of paint.
00:38And Salty was carefully shunting trucks of fish at Brendam docks.
00:46But Thomas and Emily were at the fitters' yard for repairs.
00:50I can't wait to get back to work. I'm taking the school choir to their concert.
00:56Emily was ready to go.
00:58Goodbye, Thomas, she whistled. Good luck with your final inspection.
01:04Thank you, Emily, tooted Thomas.
01:07Then James puffed in to deliver his paint.
01:11What's my boiler? he laughed. You've broken down, Thomas.
01:16No, I haven't, puffed Thomas.
01:19You must have done, snorted James, otherwise you wouldn't be at the fitters' yard.
01:24What a shame you're not a smart and useful engine like me.
01:29This made Thomas cross. The Fat Controller arrived.
01:34Thomas, boomed the Fat Controller, are you ready to take the school choir to their concert?
01:40Nearly ready, sir, puffed Thomas excitedly.
01:43Nearly ready isn't good enough, said the Fat Controller.
01:48Thomas didn't want anyone else to collect the school choir.
01:52Carrying the children was his favourite job.
01:55So Thomas decided he would leave before his final inspection.
02:00I'm ready now, sir, he puffed.
02:03And Thomas chuffed away to pick up Annie and Clarabel.
02:09Thomas was puffing up the line.
02:12He began to make strange noises.
02:15Annie and Clarabel knew something was wrong.
02:18Something's wrong, clangety clong, clangety clong, something's wrong.
02:23But Thomas wasn't listening.
02:25He was too excited about collecting the choir.
02:29The school choir cheered when they saw Thomas.
02:34All aboard, chuffed Thomas cheerfully as he clangety clonged into Knapford Station.
02:40Who is making that nasty noise? wheezed Emily.
02:44Emily saw it was Thomas.
02:46Did you have your final inspection? asked Emily.
02:50This made Thomas cross.
02:52I'm fine, he huffed.
02:55And he steamed away with the choir on board.
02:58Thomas rattled even more.
03:02Clangety clong, clangety clong.
03:05Later, Thomas had to stop at a signal.
03:09He was feeling hot and bothered.
03:11Toby saw that something was wrong with Thomas.
03:15Did you take on enough water at the fitters yard?
03:19This made Thomas cross.
03:21There's nothing wrong with me.
03:24Just then the signal changed.
03:27Thomas puffed away.
03:31Thomas was rattling and steaming more and more.
03:36Clangety clong, clangety clong.
03:43Further up the line, Percy was waiting at a crossing.
03:47What's happened to you, Thomas? cried Percy.
03:51You look puffed out.
03:53Bother, steamed Thomas.
03:55He didn't like being told there was something wrong with him.
03:58There's nothing wrong with me, Percy, Thomas huffed.
04:02A barrier opened.
04:04Thomas rattled away.
04:06Clangety clong, clangety clong.
04:10Then there was trouble.
04:12Thomas began to chuff slower and slower.
04:16I need a rest, he gasped.
04:19Thomas clangety clonged into a siding.
04:22Steam burst from his boiler
04:25and black smoke flew from his funnel.
04:28With a final clangety clong, Thomas broke down.
04:33Thomas felt terrible.
04:36The school choir began to sing to pass the time.
04:40The children will be late for their concert, he wailed sadly,
04:44and it's all my fault.
04:46I've let everyone down.
04:48Thomas was upset.
04:52Just then, Gordon puffed around the bend.
04:56I've broken down, groaned Thomas.
05:00Sorry, Thomas, steamed Gordon.
05:02I'm a guaranteed connection.
05:06Now what am I going to do? cried Thomas.
05:09He was worried.
05:11Then Thomas heard a whistle.
05:16It was James.
05:18If I asked James for help, he'd laugh at me again,
05:22but I don't want the children to miss their concert.
05:25So Thomas tooted as loud as he could toot.
05:30Stop!
05:32But my boiler, laughed James.
05:35I said you were a broken down little engine.
05:38I am, sighed Thomas, so I need your help.
05:42Can you take the children to their concert?
05:45Thomas whistled.
05:47Now, James didn't laugh at Thomas.
05:50He could see Thomas was in trouble,
05:53and he was happy to help his friend.
05:59I'll get the children there on time, James whished.
06:03Thomas knew he had to get back to be repaired as quickly as possible.
06:09Henry was sent to collect Thomas.
06:16He soon buffered up and shunted Thomas to the fitter yard.
06:24Before long, Thomas was as good as new.
06:28He had even waited for his final inspection.
06:32The fat controller arrived.
06:34You have been very patient, Thomas.
06:37I have a special job for you.
06:40You are to collect the choir and bring them home again.
06:44Thank you, sir, chuffed Thomas.
06:47He was delighted.
06:50Clangety clong, nothing is wrong, he laughed.
06:54And Thomas smiled all the way to the concert.
