00:00Topped off Thomas. It was a windy autumn day on the island of Sodor.
00:11Thomas liked windy days, and sometimes Thomas liked to race the wind.
00:19I can go faster than you, Mr Wind, Thomas tooted as he steamed along.
00:25Thomas had to stop at a junction. Spencer was already there.
00:31Thomas was surprised.
00:33Hello Spencer, what are you doing on Sodor?
00:38I, steamed Spencer, am to pick up Sir Topham, Lady Hat and the Duke and Duchess of Boxford.
00:45They are waiting at Kelsthorpe Station.
00:49I am to take them to a very important tea at the Scottish Castle.
00:55Thomas was disappointed.
00:58Why can't I take them in Annie and Clarabel, he puffed.
01:02Because, huffed Spencer grandly, you are a small engine and small engines get small jobs.

01:54Spencer and Thomas were pumping their pistons and bubbling their boilers to arrive at Kelsthorpe first.
02:03Spencer screeched to a halt, but Thomas raced straight through the station.
02:10There was a rush of wind so big, it blew the Fat Controller's hat right off his head.
02:17The Fat Controller was very cross.
02:21Thomas reversed slowly back into the station.
02:25He was very worried.
02:28Thomas boomed the Fat Controller.
02:31Why were you going so fast?
02:34You know engines must go slowly through stations.
02:38Thomas felt terrible.
02:40I'm sorry, sir, he peeped.
02:43And, the Fat Controller added, my hat is blown away.
02:48I cannot go without my hat.
02:51Thomas felt even worse.
02:53I'll find you a hat, sir, Thomas chuffed.
02:56In time for your important tea at the Scottish Castle.
03:00And he chuffed quickly away.
03:06Thomas was sure he'd find the Fat Controller's hat quickly.
03:11He looked down the track to the level crossing.
03:15There was Bertie the Bus.

03:21Sir Topham's hat had landed on his roof.
03:25I've found it, Thomas hooted happily.
03:28Just then, Gordon whooshed through the crossing so fast,
03:33that the hat blew into the air.
03:39Cinders and ashes, cried Thomas.
03:42Now I'll have to chase after it.
03:46Thomas steamed down the line.
03:49Then he saw it.
03:51The hat had landed on top of Farmer McColl's scarecrow.
03:55I've found it, Thomas hooted happily.
03:59But just then, Harold the Helicopter rose from the other side of the hill.
04:04The great whoosh of his blades blew the Fat Controller's hat into the air and far away.
04:12Cinders and ashes, cried Thomas.
04:15I'll have to chase after it again.
04:19Thomas steamed along.
04:22He was out of puff and out of places to look.
04:27Then he saw it.
04:30The Fat Controller's top hat landed on one of the windmill's sails.
04:36Thomas hooted happily.
04:39But just then, a great gust of wind blew the sails around,
04:45and the top hat was blown into the air and far away.
04:51Oh no, tooted Thomas, and he raced after it.
04:58It was getting late.
05:01Thomas had promised to find the Fat Controller's hat,
05:05and he hadn't done that.
05:07The wind had taken the hat far away.
05:11You've won, Mr. Wind, peaked Thomas,
05:15and he let out a tiny sad whoosh of steam.
05:21Thomas chuffed sadly back towards Kelsthorpe Station.
05:25I wonder if I will ever be a really useful engine again, he whooshed sadly.
05:32Then he saw it.
05:35The Fat Controller's hat was just in front of him, floating on the wind.
05:45I was silly to think I was as fast as you, Mr. Wind, Thomas chuffed quietly.
05:51Please, can you help me?
05:55The wind heard Thomas.
05:57The Fat Controller's hat floated gently onto Thomas' funnel.
06:04Thomas couldn't believe his puff.
06:07He chuffed slowly and carefully towards Kelsthorpe Station.
06:16When Thomas arrived, everyone was waiting.
06:20The Fat Controller gasped.
06:23He saw his hat was on top of Thomas' funnel.
06:28You've found my hat, Thomas, he boomed happily.
06:32You are a really useful engine.
06:36Thomas blew a happy whoosh of steam,
06:40and the top hat flew gently from his funnel onto the platform in front of the Fat Controller.
06:49Sometimes going slowly is as good as going fast, tooted Thomas.
06:55Or maybe even better.
