00:00It was a beautiful morning on the island of Sodor. Thomas the Tank Engine's blue paint sparkled in the sunshine as he puffed happily along his branch line with Annie and Clarabelle.
00:14He was feeling very pleased with himself.
00:18Hello, Thomas, whistled Percy. You look splendid.
00:32Yes, indeed, boasted Thomas. Blue is the only proper colour for an engine.
00:38Oh, I don't know. I like my brown paint, said Toby.
00:42I've always been green. I wouldn't want to be any other colour either, added Percy.
00:48Well, well, anyway, huffed Thomas, blue is the only colour for a really useful engine. Everyone knows that.
01:00Percy said no more. He just grinned at Toby.
01:04Later, Thomas was resting when Percy arrived.
01:10A large hopper was loading his trucks full of coal. Thomas was still being cheeky.
01:17Careful, he warned. Watch out with those silly trucks.
01:21Go on, go on, go on, muttered the truck.
01:25And by the way, went on Thomas, those buffers don't look very safe to me.
01:33The last load poured down.
01:35Help, I'm choking, cried Thomas.
01:40Get me out.
01:44Percy was worried, but he couldn't help laughing.
01:47Thomas's smart blue paint was covered in coal dust from smokebox to bunker.
01:57Ha, ha, chuckled Percy. You don't look really useful now, Thomas. You look really disgraceful.
02:04I'm not disgraceful, choked Thomas. You did that on purpose. Get me out.
02:15It took so long to clean Thomas that he wasn't in time for his next train.
02:21Toby had to take Annie and Clarabel.
02:25Poor Thomas, whispered Annie to Clarabel. They were most upset.
02:40Thomas was grumpy in the shed that night.
02:44Toby thought it a great joke.
02:46But Percy was cross with Thomas for thinking he had made his paint dirty on purpose.
02:52Fancy, a really useful blue engine like Thomas becoming a disgrace to the Fat Controller's Railway.
03:03Next day, Thomas was feeling more cheerful as he watched Percy bring his trucks from the junction.
03:09The trucks were heavy and Percy was tired.
03:17Have a drink, said his driver, then you'll feel better.
03:22The water column stood at the end of the siding with the unsafe buffers.
03:29Suddenly, Percy found that he couldn't stop.
03:33The buffers didn't stop him either.
03:35Oh, wailed Percy, help!
03:39The buffers were broken and Percy was wheel deep in coal.
03:45It was time for Thomas to leave. He had seen everything.
03:50Now Percy has learned his lesson too, he chuckled to himself.
04:05That night, the two engines made up their quarrel.
04:08I didn't cause your accident on purpose, Thomas, whispered Percy.
04:13You do know that, don't you?
04:17Of course, replied Thomas, and I'm sorry I was cheeky.
04:21Your green paint looks splendid again too.
04:25In future, we'll both be more careful of coal.
