Hard Home 2024 Thriller/Action Movie Review

00:00Hello everyone, before I get started, I just want to tell you my name is Paul Branson and
00:08I do have a pronunciation problem.
00:11That's why sometimes I put the actress names at the back of me, just because I can't pronounce
00:16them correctly.
00:18I've always had that pronunciation problem of certain words.
00:23And I've always had a learning disability as well.
00:26Detention disorder, hyperactivity, but I enjoy watching movies.
00:34So I give movie reviews, food reviews, tours, and events, and much more.
00:41So please check out my channel.
00:42I do believe there's everything, or everything, or everything for everyone.
00:48Something for everyone, that's what I should be saying.
00:51But now I'm going to get into a movie that I just watched, and it just was available,
00:57not for rent, to buy, called Hard Home.
01:02And it just came out, 2024, June 25th.
01:08As soon as I saw the poster, I was intrigued.
01:12Hard Home.
01:13I actually kind of like the name too.
01:15It suited the poster.
01:17And I'm looking at it.
01:18It's an action-thriller.
01:19And I was like, hmm.
01:22So I put on the clip of the trailer just a little bit.
01:27Trailers always give away too much.
01:29Then I stopped it, going, I must watch this.
01:34The main actress in this, she got her start when she was 18 years old, and she was a host
01:42of some sort of cartoon for kids show.
01:48And I don't remember the show, and I can't pronounce it, but some sort of kid host show.
01:55Then she did some TV series and some movies.
01:58So she's acted for a while.
02:01I've never seen her acting in anything before, except this.
02:06And she's phenomenal.
02:08Wow.
02:09And I hope she does films like this again, because it looks like this was her first action-thriller
02:14movie, and it was incredible.
02:17The director has been known, the director worked on, maybe even helped direct, The Butterfly
02:26Effect, The Watchmen.
02:28Those are the two things that he is known for.
02:32And now this movie, that he did direct this movie, and he did an amazing job.
02:38The script writer who wrote this, he's only been doing short scripts, but he's been winning
02:44awards for his shorts.
02:47From the U.S. and Mexico, these type of film festivals, he was winning awards for his short
02:51videos that I've never seen.
02:54This was his first feature script that he wrote, and it was absolutely incredible.
03:02It doesn't have a lot of actors in here.
03:05There's an FBI agent in here too that is really good, and I thought, or I hope, I looked it
03:13up afterwards thinking, I thought she did a TV series of an FBI agent.
03:19That's what I originally thought, that's why I said what I said, but no, she should.
03:25She should get a TV series going of her being an FBI agent.
03:31She was incredible in it.
03:32So the acting in this is absolutely incredible, and the writer who wrote this, I can't wait
03:40to see what else he writes.
03:42They got to hire him to write some really good stuff.
03:44He's excellent.
03:46Now, this is an action thriller.
03:49Now I haven't seen a good action thriller, like a really good action thriller, since
03:54Nick of Time, that's with Johnny Depp, Christopher Walken, and Earl James Jones.
04:04Nick of Time is an amazing movie that came out in the 90s.
04:08If I'm stupid, it was the 2000s, but I'm more than sure it was the 90s, and I walked
04:13out in awe.
04:14I was like, dropped my mouth.
04:17This movie, I put it on, my phone rang, couldn't pick it up.
04:21I turned it off immediately, grabbed it, turned it off.
04:25I had to use the washroom, couldn't go.
04:28I couldn't even put it on pause, because part one was so good, and intense, and the acting,
04:36and the way it was filmed.
04:37I only had one little issue with it.
04:40It seems like they're doing this a lot in movies now.
04:43They're overusing the theme music.
04:47But overall, this film was incredible.
04:51I don't want to say too much about it.
04:55Now the premise is simple.
04:58The main actress, she has someone that gets killed by a serial killer, and you learn more
05:06as you watch the movie of what happened, and how she couldn't let it go, and she had
05:13to find the killer.
05:16She does find the killer, and she does now trap him in her house with all these traps
05:26that she set up for the killer.
05:30So now she has the killer in her grasp, and there's flashbacks, and good character development.
05:41There is no ratings for this yet, because it just came out, but I honestly think this
05:45should have came in the theater.
05:47This definitely would have made money in the theater, because I've never seen a movie done
05:52this way before.
05:54Certain things, yes, but even The Annoying Neighbor, that was great.
06:00She was a great actress, and she's been in a lot of things too.
06:03So the acting cast for this was fantastic.
06:06The running scenes and the action sequences were incredible.
06:11Even the way they did the blood, and the flashbacks, very well done.
06:19So again, I give this movie a 10 out of 10, it is absolutely incredible, I had no problems
06:25with this film.
06:28I'm really hoping people like it, because it's really well done, and it also has a bit
06:34of a mystery.
06:35Now, at the end, they resolve the mystery, that I kind of wish they didn't do.
06:41I would have preferred that to be left out.
06:44But overall, there was a lot of interesting action sequences, and the intensity, and the
06:52suspense was really there.
06:55And I highly recommend A Good Time, if you've never watched that as well.

07:16This was fantastic, truly a fantastic film.
07:19It did have some flashing moments, but it didn't seem to bother me, because that's another
07:24issue I have, some flashing stuff.
07:27Because I don't know why they do that, because people do have seizures and that.
07:31My friend Jimmy may not be able to watch it, but I think those flashes would be okay.
