00:00Hello everyone. This is Paul Branson Reviews and so much more. I went to see the movie
00:09The Crow yesterday, the remake. And people were like, we're not going to see the remake.
00:15Brandon Lee is our favorite Crow from the 90s and that movie is honestly way better
00:21than this one. This one right now is only getting like a 5.1 out of 10 on IMBD and I
00:29think it's like a 15% Rotten Tomatoes. Yeah, it's really not that good. It's like I struggled
00:37through watching it. I actually wanted to get up and leave the theater. I was literally the only
00:43one in there. I'm eating my popcorn, hearing crunches of my popcorn. I prefer to hear
00:49crunches of my popcorn than watching some of the dialogue that came out of this film.
00:54But the only star, like the acting was good, but a lot of things that came out of people's
01:01mouths like the dialogue was just not good. Now the main star who played the Crow, he is a good
01:09actor. He was good in it. And that's the only reason why I would slightly give this movie
01:16a little bit higher mark. I'd probably give it, well I'll tell you that at the end, but right now
01:23as you know the original Brendan Lee one, he died during making the movie of actually someone
01:31really shooting him on set doing a scene with his arms spread out like this nationwide. He spread
01:38down, he knelt down and he got shot in the back with real bullets. I'm not sure what happened.
01:44I never really looked at what happened, but they said it was an accident and it's sad that happened.
01:51Rest in peace Brendan Lee and he still will be the Crow in my opinion. But here's the good and
01:58bad about this film. At the beginning it actually started off good. I like the beginning. Then it
02:05showed a woman that got a call from her friend saying meet me here. I have some information about
02:14this bad guy that we can give to the police and he would be ruined at that point. Now the bad guy in
02:20this, I didn't really like him. I didn't believe he was bad enough. They could have picked, like he's a
02:26good actor, don't get me wrong, but he just didn't feel bad enough, like evil enough and I didn't
02:34really like that. I wanted a real evil man and there was also something interesting about him
02:39that I'm not going to tell you just in case you do watch the film. So I'm not telling you not watch
02:43the film. Now the first half an hour I did enjoy. Then it got kind of messy and the music didn't
02:53match right with the scenes. Like I was like why are they using this music with the scenes? This is
02:58not good. The theme music was okay. There was only one scene that I actually liked that actually
03:04suited with the music that was actually like okay this suits with the music. This is how they should
03:09be doing it throughout the whole film. But the music just didn't fit right and also too him going
03:14to the in-between worlds it just didn't suit right with me. There was a guy he met there and I don't
03:24know the conversation there was kind of cheesy in my opinion. The action sequences though were
03:31really really good and then even the ending was kind of weak. So you got this good scenes, you got
03:38these bad scenes and you mix them together. You take out a good 20 minutes. This could have been a
03:44better film and the dialogue was cheesy. There's a lot of cheesy lines in this that were just too
03:51cheesy for me and I was like no I want to see more. More of the action at least. The action sequences
03:58were incredible and the costumes were good too. But it's just a story and this story was supposed
04:04to be taken from one of the comic books of The Crow. I'm not sure which version they went with
04:09but the director I don't think I've seen the director direct things or anything before.
04:15So I don't really know his style but I just thought that it was it was weak it was weak
04:22very weak with character. The character development between the two main characters was there
04:29and they were in and they met in jail and they had ankles bracelets on so they couldn't escape
04:38jail. But as soon as the bad guy knew the woman was there that could put him away. I'm not gonna
04:45kind of leave it out some details. He went there to see her. Now The Crow and the woman that he
04:54was in love with that he fell in love with in jail they broke out and I'm like okay they broke out.
05:01Well couldn't wouldn't the police be looking for them? They just broke out and they were having fun
05:08and they were loving one another and all great is all handy and then the bad guy finds her
05:13and kills both of them as you know The Crow is about and that's where it got kind of
05:18silly. Like there was a lot of silliness in this film and the music just wasn't spot on.
05:26Like the cinematography was incredible it really was and then the ending scene in an opera house
05:32was just silly. Opera music while action was going I was like you're kidding me. Like the
05:40ending scene even with the villain was just it just wasn't good. But this all being said
05:48I give it a 6 out of 10 just because of performance of the main actor. As you know the main actor was
05:53It in the Stephen King version of It and he is a good actor. He is a good actor. He's what carried
06:01the movie for me and that's what kind of made me still stay in the theater even so I literally was
06:07the only one there. It was sad. It was sad. I'm surprised that he would do a movie like this
06:16um but he's not my Crow. The original Crow Brendan Lee version saying Brendan I think it's
06:23Brendan Lee. I know it's Lee but his version is way way way better. The soundtrack to this I would
06:31never want to own. This being said a 6 out of 10. If it wasn't for him carrying the movie
06:38and the way the script was and everything I'd give this a 4. It's just a 4 out of 10. That just
06:43wasn't maybe a 4.5. It just wasn't good. It was good enough to watch but chances are I'd never
06:49see it again. So this being said everyone this is probably it's sad. Don't see it in theaters.
06:57If you want to see it just wait for it to come on a streaming site. It's worth to watch for
07:03certain scenes for sure. Other than that it's not a great movie and I'm not going to tell you the
07:08other actors in it. There are a few other actors that were good in it but I'm just not going to
07:14name them. You will recognize them. Other than that everyone bye for now. This is Paul Branson
