The Union 2024 Action/Thriller Movie Review Netflix

00:00Hello everyone, Netflix sometimes has really, really good movies, and I watch them.
00:10Obviously, I've had Netflix for quite some time.
00:13I don't really review too many movies from Netflix, I don't think I've ever actually
00:18reviewed any movies on Netflix, or maybe I have, just can't remember.
00:22My name is Paul Branson and I do movie reviews, and this review is an action comedy movie
00:29or action thriller movie on Netflix right now, and I think it's number one being watched
00:35right now, maybe number two, or talked about at least, called The Union, with Allie Berry
00:41and Mark Wilberg, if I'm saying Wilberg's name right.
00:46I have a little bit of a pronunciation problem with some words, Z's, B's, I get my B's
00:51mixed up, B's are, D's are, B's mixed up, blah, stuff like that, but this is called
00:57The Union.
00:58And as you know, Allie Berry made a movie way back, she's made several movies, but
01:04one of her worst movies ever made, according to a lot of people, is Catwoman.
01:10She played Catwoman, and Sharon Stone was the villain.
01:14Now I just want to talk about that movie very briefly.
01:18If you look at it, if you look at it as a serious movie, you are not going to like it.
01:24It's not a serious movie, it's not a serious movie, it should be taken as a goofy movie,
01:31a goofy fun movie, so bad it's good, because personally, I enjoyed Catwoman with Allie
01:37Berry, I just took it, not seriously, I just took it as a comedy, a comedy spoof, just
01:45like they make spoofs of Scream movies and other movies, and Airplane is a spoof.
01:50If you take it that way, and you watch Catwoman again, you would probably enjoy it a lot more.
01:56Now that being said, it is a bad movie, but it's so bad it's good.
02:02And I can't rate Catwoman, it's just that it's a movie that I put on in the background
02:07sometimes when I'm doing things, just because I laugh at it, because it's just so funny.
02:13But that being said, she is in this movie, and she's done some other great movies as
02:18well, amazing movies, I really do like her as an actress, I only picked Catwoman because
02:24people said it's the worst movie she ever made, I think it's so bad it's good type movie
02:29that I can't rate.
02:30Now Mark Wilberg, he's been in a lot of movies too, and I believe that he is the one that
02:37wants to bring back Six Million Dollar Man, he wants to be the Six Million Dollar Man.
02:42Now Six Million Dollar Man is a TV show, a very popular TV show, and they wanted to bring
02:48that onto the big screen, and I hope one day they do, I think it deserves a really
02:53good remake.
02:54After watching the Union movie, Mark would be a great, great Six Million Dollar Man,
03:01for sure.
03:02So this is a basic movie, a basic movie, a spy movie.
03:07Holly Berry is a spy, and she has a team of people, it's called the Union.
03:14Now the Union is higher up than the FBI or everybody, no one knows they really exist.
03:19They save the world over and over again, and they're based in London, England, I was about
03:27to say London, Ontario, London, England, they're based there.
03:31So there's this opening scene that is absolutely incredible, and right away you get to know
03:36what's going on.
03:38They goofed up, something went wrong right at the beginning, and I'm not going to tell
03:43you exactly what went wrong, but I'm also going to tell you there's another actor in
03:46here.
03:47If you've been watching Evil, the TV series, and it just finished today, actually today's
03:53its last episode, or last night was, so I got to watch that, and it's been on four seasons.
03:59There's an actor in here, and he's a great actor, and he's in this movie as well, and
04:04there's also a lot of other good actors in here, but I'm not going to name them because
04:08you're going to be surprised.
04:09I want you to be surprised of some of the actors, and I was like, oh wow, there's a
04:13person in here from The Matrix from way back that I haven't seen him in a movie in a while,
04:19and I was like, huh.
04:20So this is kind of like a mystery thing.
04:23Something happened and goofed up.
04:25Now Halle Berry wanted to go and see Mark, and Mark never left his hometown, he's a construction
04:34worker, he goes in the bar, he takes care of his mother, and he has a lot of things
04:41going for him, but he's never traveled, he's never seen the world at all, and Halle Berry
04:47and him dated in high school, and she left, and there's a whole romance there, but she
04:52thinks that he would be good in the union, in being part of the union, and they also
04:58need his help for a reason I'm not going to tell you.
05:02So when she goes there to see him, it's like a reunion, he has no clue what she's been
05:07up to, he was a little upset that she came back in his life because they broke up when
05:13she went to college, and he stayed there, but he was the same type of guy, strong, tough,
05:20and a nice guy.
05:22So she ejects him, she takes him to a park, and ejects him with a sleeping agent, he wakes
05:28up in London, and now you know the real reason why they needed him, and I'm not going to
05:33tell you why.
05:34But the action sequences, this movie felt like a 1980s action film, a lot of nostalgia
05:40was in this movie for sure, and the reason why I say Mark Wilberg, or if I'm saying his
05:46name correctly, can play Six Million Dollar Man is just because he was so good in this
05:51action movie.
05:53In some scenes I was thinking he was the Six Million Dollar Man, strangely enough.
05:58But the action sequences and the mystery behind it, and it's a simple story, it's like the
06:03Man from U.N.C.L.E., or the Kingsman Man, stuff like that, secret agencies, like Get
06:08Smart back in the day, secret agencies.
06:13It's a good movie, I give this movie an 8 out of 10, it's a lot of fun, and it deserves
06:19a lot more than what it's getting right now on IMBD, it's only getting a 5.5 out of 10,
06:25I'm not sure why, it's filled with action, it's a lot of fun, great acting, just great
06:30cinematography, great music, definitely great music, it's a swing back to the 80s.
06:36Check it out, it's on Netflix, and I think it's now the number one movie being watched.
