00:03 - So you walked the golf course,
00:04 and for those that are familiar with Colonial,
00:07 or even those that aren't,
00:08 just kind of your biggest takeaways of,
00:11 I know the eighth hole is a big change
00:12 that Gil kind of talked about,
00:15 but any other holes too that stick out
00:17 that you feel like that are gonna be awesome?
00:19 - Yeah, eighth's unbelievable, what he did with eighth.
00:23 Moving all the way to the left against the ravine.
00:25 It's a beautiful hole.
00:27 He did a fantastic job there.
00:29 If there was any bigger changes,
00:31 I would say he 12 a little bit,
00:33 and he backed up, I think he's playing 470 now.
00:36 - Wow.
00:37 - For those that know Colonial,
00:39 you can't get to the right bunker,
00:40 you can't carry the left bunker.
00:42 - Really?
00:43 - They moved the green right,
00:45 and up against kind of the hazard, I guess.
00:47 - Wow, that hole was always kind of blight,
00:50 just kind of, 'cause you could just bomb it
00:52 over that left bunker,
00:53 but now that's gonna be a much more difficult hole.
00:56 - It was the only hole in the golf course
00:57 you just couldn't see the green, pretty much,
00:59 or the fairway.
01:00 So now with the green shifted to the right,
01:02 you see the green from T-box,
01:04 but now you're gonna be hitting more of a,
01:05 you know, seven eighths and nine irons in that green
01:08 as opposed to the club wedges.
01:10 - Wow.
01:11 - And then 13 was really cool.
01:12 He lifted it six feet and pushed it back a little bit.
01:15 - Okay.
01:16 - The part three, and put bunkers in front of the green.
01:19 So his whole idea was to go back to 41 the way it looked.
01:22 And he talked to,
01:26 it's funny, we were walking a couple of weeks ago
01:28 and I asked him, "What's the word should I use?"
01:30 'Cause you didn't renovate it.
01:32 And he said, "It's a historical restoration."
01:34 - Historical restoration.
01:36 - Okay, I like that.
01:37 'Cause he didn't change much.
01:39 I mean, he just wanted to make it more natural flowing
01:41 like it used to be.
01:42 And, you know, he shallowed some bunkering,
01:46 more natural flowing, ice, calm, cookie cutter bunkers,
01:50 big white faces.
01:51 - Yeah.
01:51 - Like that's the natural, let's say, you know, green.
01:54 He made it more natural with the new flowing brink
01:58 as he put it in throughout.
02:00 But as far as like strategy, nothing really changed
02:02 except for number eight, obviously.
02:04 - Yeah.
02:05 - One of the biggest things that I kind of threw in
02:07 my two cents, I guess, is we took some bunkers out of play
02:10 on a lot of holes.
02:12 'Cause it's funny when guys talk about colonial,
02:14 they try to hit it in the bunker.
02:15 - 'Cause they're perfect.
02:16 - Perfect.
02:17 - Perfect.
02:18 - Yes.
02:19 I mean, it's easiest bunkers to get out of.
02:20 So a lot of the holes, we took some bunkering out of play
02:23 for instance, number nine, we took the right bunkers out.
02:26 - Yeah.
02:27 - And then the left bunkers, we pushed up to about 300,
02:31 I guess, something like that.
02:32 So if you're laying back and you hit it left,
02:34 you're no longer in a bunker, you're in the rough.
02:36 And you know how hard it is to play that rough in colonial.
02:39 - So brutal.
