00:00I have – Charlie is going to pull up a video of what you and Jeff had worked on.
00:11This is with Sportsbox AI.
00:15So I am so interested in this type of technology because you're able to take a video and
00:20then really work on some of the things that you can measure, which a lot of times in videos,
00:26you're just guessing.
00:27But it's cool to have this type of info.
00:29What exactly, looking at this face on, are you two trying to accomplish?
00:32This is on the Rage at St. Jude.
00:35You can see chest sway and pelvis sway.
00:39So that's basically how much your body is moving, essentially moving towards the target.
00:45So obviously we're looking face on, but if you imagined it down the line, how much essentially
00:51a horizontal shift my hips and upper body have towards the target.
00:56So I used to basically take my upper body and shift it really hard towards the target
01:01and basically get down and left, if you can picture that.
01:05And so we're trying to get my lower body to move a little more towards the target.
01:10Basically my upper body to stay a little bit more back because I'm left-handed.
01:15And so as a righty, when I pull this way left, I need to back up late because I'm so far
01:20essentially ahead of the ball.
01:22So if I can just stay a little bit more behind it a little longer, I don't have to back up
01:28late and then kind of throw my hands at it as much.
01:31I can stay more behind it and throw my hands at it and kind of hit that little pull fade.
01:36So we've been working on that for a while.
01:39And we've actually talked about this for two years, but we've just been trying to figure
01:43out what's the right way to go about it because we've tried a few different things and it
01:48just hasn't, it hasn't felt good.
01:49I wasn't hitting it good.
01:51I didn't feel confident in what I was working on.
01:53And so we've, we're focusing on kind of that left shoulder, left shoulder kind of moving
01:58up as I, as I rotate.
02:00So that kind of, if I keep my left shoulder this way, you can see how I tilt back.
02:05So keep my left shoulder a little bit more up was kind of the feeling that we went with
02:09versus a couple other things we tried.
02:11And so it's been a huge, huge difference for me in my swing.
02:16Cause we always felt like there's just maybe some small missing piece that we weren't sure
02:19about.
02:20And I think, I think we found it and I've hit it, hit it pretty well, much better since
02:24then obviously been putting it great.
02:27But this sports box has been kind of huge for us because you can measure instead of
02:31just guess.
02:32And he said, he's, you've been able to line up the shaft better to impact.
02:35It's a little less draggy and it's opened up a lot of speed for you.
02:40Like you're, you're, instead of like a little launching, you're now like winding up the
02:43shaft, you're hitting it a little higher and you're finding the middle of the face.
02:47Yeah.
02:48I used to, I used to hit it off the toe because if you kind of pull this way left and you're,
02:53you can't release the club and line it up.
02:55So I'm dragging the handle, which causes you to hit it off the toe.
02:58And so I've been able to hit it higher.
03:00I've picked up a little bit more speed.
03:02I've had speed and then I lost it and I picked it back up.
03:04So this was probably the leak.
03:06And so I've been able to hit it a lot higher.
03:08I talk with him a lot about on tour.
03:10What shots do you need on tour and you'd be able to launch the ball high with your irons
03:14and stop it quickly because the greens are very firm.
03:19You don't need that.
03:20The greens are soft.
03:21We're playing in the Midwest.
03:22It rains a lot.
03:23And so you don't necessarily need that shot, but you do definitely need to hit it high
03:27with your irons on tour.
03:29So we asked ourselves, how can we do that?
03:31And this has been one of the ways, man, it's, it's frustrating hearing that your, what's
03:36your swing thought is out of the top.
03:38If I tried what you just said, oh my gosh, I, it's a scary, it's a scary thought for
03:45me.
03:46It's scary.
03:47It's scary.
03:48Like trying to like stay back.
03:49Like I, I think most, uh, most golf, right-handed golfers, or at least guys that have a lot
03:54of speed, if anything, they get too much right side men early out of the top and they get
03:59too underneath, which is, it's really, it's, it's a game of opposites for you.
04:03It, it's a good problem to have.
04:04A lot of people don't get to have those feelings of being able to stay, you know, kind of underneath
04:09it a bit.
04:11And you can kind of, you can see the way that I use the ground and like the power and that's
04:14something that I've worked on with Jeff since, since day one, we, we always were thinking
04:19about from the ground up and we were thinking about how can we hit it straight, but how
04:23can we hit it far?
04:24And that's something he's always talked about since, since the first lesson that I had with
04:28him and my, I mean, it's been 10 years, almost, I've been working with him since 2015, probably
04:362015.
04:37So we're talking 10, it's been 10 years in the making, so it's, it's just been cool to
04:42see what, where we've, where we've, where we've been and where we are now, because we've,
04:48we've been the lowest of lows and, you know, almost the highs of highs with a win.
04:52So we'll get a win soon, but it's just been a crazy journey, you know?
