00:00 more than anyone in the world when you scratch everything else away from Batman
00:04 you're left with someone who doesn't want to see anybody die here's look at
00:08 McFarlane toys DC multiverse kingdom come armored Batman on earth 22 many of
00:31 the superheroes we know and love have sequestered themselves to their own
00:34 areas of isolation plunging the world in the chaotic power struggle amongst
00:38 metahumans Bruce Wayne however continues to operate in his bat cave creating a
00:42 militia of robots the monitor and maintain order in Gotham City well we
00:47 should really be focused on the future this guy's stuck in the past as we are
00:50 gonna be looking at a slightly older figure but one I did want to get around
00:53 to reviewing at some points just before of course we get a closer look at the
00:57 kingdom come armored Batman getting to the point on the top of his cowl the
01:01 figure is gonna stand at about seven and three quarters of an inch in height or
01:04 the figures about 20 centimeters tall speaking of battle-ready Bruce's
01:08 sliding over one from one time and bringing one in from an alternate time
01:12 here's what the kingdom come Batman looks like along with the armored Batman
01:15 from the Dark Knight Returns this one I believe was the one that got packed with
01:19 Superman so as opposed to the singular release that was all more in gray this
01:22 one's down done decked out in blue size wise though I think we can all kind of
01:26 agree that we have to give it to the Dark Knight Returns version of Batman
01:29 bigger and bulkier yes but does he have a glider on the back of his body the
01:33 answer to that question is no no the other Batman doesn't have a glider this
01:37 one does and before we put on the remaining parts that glider let's look
01:40 at the remaining things that come in clue with the figure like for example a
01:42 training card can we all again agree on the idea that McFarlane I think has very
01:46 well moved on from the idea of using figure photography just doesn't work I
01:50 feel for a training card source material especially one from Alex Ross is
01:54 definitely the better way to go that's a nice-looking trading card though on the
01:57 back of the card though there is a read up you could if you want pause you could
02:01 also read that for yourself I beat you to it though I've already read that the
02:04 beginning of this review let's move that off to the side this by the way will be
02:07 as it always goes in the rest of my training card sheets then the figure of
02:10 course comes in clue with a display stand slightly lighter of a display stand
02:14 than what we're usually getting I mean obviously just varies Frank figure to
02:17 figure it's just a just a case of whatever there happen to grab off the
02:20 assembly line this is just a little bit of a lighter black display stand it still
02:24 has the DC logo branded down below and of course there is the peg we can't
02:28 forget about the peg that's gonna come actually nice and handy I always say
02:32 this when it comes these figures you always really want to hold on to these
02:34 but this Batman specifically because he has the extra pieces on the back of his
02:37 body those extra pieces by the way come to us in the way of the extra parts for
02:41 his wings and he does have a glider the whole back assembly by the way it can't
02:46 be removed from the figure but you can at least remove these if you want to
02:49 free up a little bit of space although it looks a little out of place the fact
02:52 that he does have these little prong pieces the little lips on the sides that
02:56 basically will attach these what you'll do is that if you look on the side
02:59 you'll see these silver like little C brackets and those basically just fit
03:03 onto the wings I don't know how often I would really want to do this I mean
03:08 really once the time I've done this in this review I'm probably just gonna
03:11 leave them the way that they are just because again like with these being
03:13 plastic even though the plastic doesn't look like the type oh that you know that
03:17 brittle type of plastic no no it doesn't seem to be that type but it still I think
03:22 it's the kind though that if you are gonna be repeatedly removing these wings
03:25 and putting them back in place you might eventually get to that point where
03:29 they're gonna snap so probably just commit to the idea of doing it once
03:32 putting the figure on this on the shelf and just admiring it for what it is
03:35 that's a nice-looking figure don't really have from what I can remember any
03:39 other Kingdom Come figures we have yet to really get a Superman and yet though
03:42 we get an armored Batman and what a nice-looking armored Batman it is
03:46 actually I read through all of Kingdom Come when I was on an airline ride this
03:51 was years ago started at the beginning of the book I got myself the trade
03:54 paperback at the very end of the book and I still even had time to take a nap
03:57 before the plane actually landed I like the look of Batman in the comics I
04:01 really like the way they've also handled him in the figure here now he does have
04:04 the neck guard here then that's one thing that's gonna limit a little bit
04:08 of figures possibility that we're talking more about in a moment head
04:10 sculpt is good though but you really can't do too much when it comes to
04:13 moving the head around it's there just to protect Batman and Bruce more
04:16 specifically from getting any whiplash or neck damage notably though as well he
04:21 has the ears on the top of his cowl that are very soft and plastic that will be
04:25 something if you store this guy away in a baggie down the road you might come
04:28 out come up later looking at this figure and his ears kind of look like that oh
04:31 don't want to do that don't want to do that but not though the head sculpts
04:35 really good on this guy gives us a slightly definitely more aged looking
04:38 Bruce I like this suit always really worked really well for me he still keeps
04:43 kind of more to the color scheme of what you'd expect Batman to be like all gray
04:46 mostly here for a suit of course he's got the black for the top of the cowl as
04:49 well as the shoulder section here he does kind of away with the idea of
04:53 having now a cape but what he does have instead is this basically big glider
04:56 apparatus this glider assembly on the back of the body of course now benefiting
05:00 from having the wings attached onto it gives him of course that means the fly
05:03 through Gotham City funny though I've always thought this when I looked on the
05:07 back for his jetpack that it looked like the one that the Rocketeer had I'm sure
05:11 they've taken some inspiration from the Rocketeers backpack maybe not as much
05:15 this down below nor on the top but especially like this section here looks
05:19 very much like the one the Rocketeer was rocketing around with nice use of silver
05:23 also on the back this this looks to be all like painted you can see on the back
05:26 there or the bottom that's what thrusters basically be coming out the
05:30 like I said this whole glider piece looks fully committed to the idea it's
05:33 not gonna be coming off the figure it's down below here separate but what they've
05:37 done is they've added this little support piece on the lower end of his
05:40 body which I think is actually on his armor in the comics too but that just
05:43 basically prevents the glider from collapsing inward completely but it does
05:47 look like it's attached here on the top so doesn't look like at all you'd be
05:50 able to remove it and obviously if you're if you're a big fan of Kingdom
05:53 come why would you want to remove it anyways as for the rest of the detailing
05:57 on the figure it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of paint happening
05:59 it thinks I think more so it's just a plastic that they molded in gray there
06:03 are a few little areas like his utility belt there on the front this by the way
06:07 is a separate piece and you'll you'll see when I get down to the articulation
06:10 on the figure that this mid torso section shifts around a lot this by the
06:15 way is a softer plastic it is taped I tape considerably on the front I guess
06:21 it's more there just so that these don't bend inward I was one of my
06:25 biggest worries about this figure not even I mean obviously just looking I'm
06:27 in the packaging I can't even tell really what kind of plastic they would
06:31 be using but I thought that this would be a harder plastic luckily though it is
06:34 a soft plastic and less likely break it actually kind of looks like the steering
06:39 wheel is that the steering wheel for the Batmobile or am I thinking kit either
06:43 way this is again softer plastic nice sculpting overall for like the mid
06:48 torso of his area I mean obviously just underneath he's got all these
06:51 additional sculpted lines like the armor it looks streamlined and it almost has
06:55 kind of you go back and watch some of those old really really old sci-fi
06:59 movies where everything kind of had more like a streamlined look to it very much
07:03 looks like that especially where they sculpted legs here very shiny also all
07:06 the black plastic other than really his section of his shoulder here is a very
07:11 shiny plastic and again very susceptible as well to fingerprints probably can
07:15 already see some of mine already on this shiny boots also down below here as well
07:18 even though he does have slightly larger feet they also still managed to retain
07:23 toe articulation I'm glad to see that they still have that there too speaking
07:27 of the figures articulation going back to Batman's head as I did already say
07:31 earlier unfortunately you can't do really much at all with it the sides by
07:35 the way is a hard enough plastic to that I mean even just a force that there's no
07:39 way you can be able to budge and move that head it looks up only by that far
07:43 it also looks down there as well I mean you could kind of get your finger in
07:46 there to pry this back a bit if you have yourself for example a flight stand which
07:50 unfortunately isn't packed along with this figure kind of a missed opportunity
07:53 I feel not only does he have by the way close fist so he can't really hold any
07:56 accessories but I think at the very least the figure should have come in
07:59 clear with a flight stand I'm sure I can easily just use one from something else
08:03 I have in my collection just clip that on the bottom of his left of his waist
08:06 for example and just have him looking like he's flying through the air as for
08:09 though is the rest of his arms as for the rest of the articulation his arms
08:12 come out 90 degrees they're gonna be a little harder though to move all the way
08:16 around not only the fact that he's got the shoulder sticking out like this but
08:18 also we can't overlook the fact that the elephant in the room is that he has a
08:21 big glider on the back of his body as well he doesn't have a swivel in his
08:25 bicep I kind of thought he would have had it but it doesn't seem to be the
08:29 case he does though have a swivel in his arm that moves back and forth he does
08:32 have a single hinge in the elbow and he does also have a rotation in the hand
08:37 even though he does have these guards in the front of his hand these actually are
08:40 softer plastic so it doesn't make things at all difficult when it comes to
08:43 rotating the hands back and forth now for his upper torso his upper torso is
08:47 gonna be on a ball joint he does seem to have as well a ball joint at the base of
08:51 his body like right around the abdomen area here but this again shifts around
08:54 so they probably put that over top of a body underneath it as for the legs the
08:58 legs are on ratcheted joints which I was kind of surprised to see I figured they
09:02 would just you'd be using ball joints you take the legs and move them forward
09:05 really tight though on the figure you can move them back there's also a
09:08 swivel at the top of the thigh a double hinge on the knee now here's the only
09:12 other thing I'm not crazy about when it comes to this figure is that it's fine
09:16 and good that they use the pegs down below here in black but using it up at
09:19 the top here as well they should have matched the color to the plastic of his
09:22 leg because now you see a very obvious hole or all the very obvious peg place
09:26 where that obviously that that hinge has to go all the way through why couldn't
09:30 they've just matched the coloring to the rest of the gray other than that
09:33 though he does have a double hinge on the knee he has ankle articulation back
09:36 and forth you can rock it that back and forth this way and the figure does also
09:39 have toe articulation as well a little late to the game as I sometimes say when
09:43 we get to looking at these older figures but a figure that was definitely still
09:46 interested to look at a big fan o of Kingdom Come still thinking that this is
09:50 the only is this the only Kingdom Come figure that we've gone we've yet I think
09:53 to get ourselves a Superman and you know what let's get ourselves a display stand
09:56 just talked about this earlier Batman's gonna have a slightly harder time just
09:59 because he's got the wings on the back of his body get him on the display stand
10:02 it's gonna make things a whole lot easier as I was saying before I
10:06 interrupted myself I think there there isn't a Kingdom Come Superman if there
10:10 isn't yet one I certainly hope that McFarland toys will start releasing more
10:14 Kingdom Come figures you know obviously it's not everybody's thing I mean you
10:18 either like or dislike the look of Alex Ross's work when it comes to certainly
10:23 painting art panels as opposed to actually you know just drawing them by
10:26 hand obviously he is drawing them by hand but you know what I mean instead of
10:29 painting them some people prefer more the classic look to comics but if you
10:33 get the chance and you haven't had the chance yet to read it Kingdom Come is a
10:36 great story but I do hope though we get a slightly aged Man of Steel and
10:39 certainly some of the other characters and have at the world of Kingdom Come in
10:42 the future not just the Batman that we get here this only Batman I think we've
10:46 only gone ever gotten from Kingdom Come I certainly hope though there's a lot
10:49 more I guess is the case with Kingdom Come Batman because he does have the
10:53 more elaborate looking construction on the back of his body and the additional
10:57 wing assembly that that pretty much ate up all the budget when it came to
11:00 including additional accessories this figure doesn't have like for example
11:03 gripping hands nor does he have any accessories to fit in those gripping
11:06 hands had he had them so basically only just gets these extra wing pieces and of
11:10 course he comes with a regular display stand I do wish though that this figure
11:13 could have at the very least came in clear with a flight stand because for me
11:17 at least other than maybe just displaying him with the way that I have
11:19 right now like he looks like he's about to take off I would have rather preferred
11:23 to have this guy in flight now I can easily fix the problem on my end because
11:26 having collected enough these DC multiverse figures I just happen to have
11:30 myself a stock here a flight stands but I think a figure like this who's already
11:34 assumed to be flying anyways so right out the gate right in the packaging
11:38 come include with one as well this one is still available as far as I know
11:42 I've seen this guy actually show up a couple of times at comic book stores I
11:45 did want to get around to reviewing this guy and again a little late to the game
11:48 but I'm glad I finally got the chance not only for the review for the sake of
11:52 you guys being able to see who haven't yet picked up this figure but also as
11:55 well to finally have this guy out of his packaging and free to fly although he's
11:59 probably just gonna be going on the shelf the way that he is right now
12:01 actually I kind of like the way I've got imposed right now might just just do away
12:05 with the earlier idea of using a flight stand just favor of displaying in the
12:08 way you're seeing right now still looking at that jetpack still think it
12:11 looks like the Rocketeers jetpack but what do you guys think this is a figure
12:14 you guys could see yourselves picking up and did you already pick him up and is
12:18 this also the only kingdom come figure that we've gotten I keep wanting to
12:21 think that there was another one that we did get but the more that I'm thinking
12:24 about it I think Batman might be the only one if you guys though in the
12:28 meantime just enjoyed this video I want throw it a like if you guys are loving
12:30 the content you guys are seeing and want to stick around for more also let me
12:34 know down below in the comment section there are some DC multiverse figures I
12:38 say some there's a good stack over here that I haven't had the chance to look at
12:42 just with all the other things I'm looking at here on this channel
12:44 regularly I like to mix things up I don't want to solely just be the channel
12:48 that's doing DC multiverse reviews I don't want to solely just be the channel
12:51 that's looking at NECA reviews I like to mix it up so you guys have a variety of
12:54 things to always come back to would you guys like to see me go back and look at
12:58 some of those older DC multiverse reviews or should we just be looking to
13:01 the future not be dwelling in the past let me know if you guys also haven't
