00:00I wonder if his favorite carol is Disheveled Pages of Christmas. Here's your
00:04Christmas spot on Mego Creepshow Holiday Creep.
00:09Creepshow's Christmas Creep joins the Mego lineup. This official edition 8-inch
00:32tall action figure features 26 points of articulation and a real cloth outfit.
00:36Hey, don't look at me. You said you like to read stories for the holidays. You
00:39didn't say what kind of stories. Before, of course, we get a closer look at the
00:42Mego Creepshow Holiday Creep, let's take the tape measure and see how tall the
00:45figure stands. In a moment, as well, I'll bring in some other figures that we've
00:48gotten up the Creep, not necessarily made by Mego. If I include, though, the Santa
00:52hat that's on the top of his head, you're looking at the Holiday Creep being 8
00:55inches in height. Yeah, you can see it for yourself. That translates, though, to a
00:59figure that's 20 centimeters tall. Stuffed in your stocking, here's a few
01:02other Creeps, but the ones I'm bringing in right now were made by NECA, not Mego.
01:05First, here's what the figure looks like with the Ultimate Creepshow Creep, and
01:08here's also what it looks like with the TV Creepshow Creep. In both the cases,
01:12NECA were using a very similar style of body that just ends up, unfortunately,
01:15making them a little bit shorter than the one we get from Mego. Mego, obviously, in
01:18this case, is just using a Mego body underneath the robe. Because of that, he's
01:21gonna be a little bit fuller in frame. He's also gonna be a little bit taller,
01:24as well. We've also just recently looked at another Mego figure, one that's
01:27related to Christmas. Here's what your figure looks like, as well, with the
01:30National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Clark Griswold. We don't have any
01:33connection, obviously, between the two universes, but it would be interesting
01:36while Clark, obviously, had the sap on his fingers and was sticking to the pages of
01:40the book that he was reading. It would be very interesting had that only been a
01:43Creepshow magazine, instead. Speaking of magazines, sadly, though, the Creep
01:48doesn't come included with one. I think that would have been a nice little added
01:50touch. It doesn't seem, really, that when we've looked at these Mego figures, they
01:53come with really much of anything when it comes to accessories. But had he only
01:56come included with just a little tiny paper representation of a magazine, I
01:59think would have been a well-welcomed accessory. Sadly, the figure doesn't come
02:03included with that. What he does have, though, to sort of give him the festive
02:06cheer is that this Creep actually does have, first of all, a striped scarf. The
02:10scarf looks like it's actually been properly tied around his neck, so if you
02:13really wanted to, you could take, in theory, really, both the scarf and
02:17also, really, the Santa's hat off. And underneath that, really, would just be a
02:20rather functioning Creep. But I do think the scarf certainly adds a little bit of
02:24charm, especially if you want to have this guy decorating your treetop, maybe
02:27perhaps even on your mantle during the holiday season. That's my plan in mind.
02:30The one thing, unfortunately, about the Santa's hat, while it does look good, I
02:35mean, you kind of have to keep bending this down, because I noticed there's a few
02:37times that the Santa's hat just keeps wanting to pop back up. So I have to kind
02:42of keep folding it down. But I was kind of surprised to also see, as well, that
02:45when you take the Santa's hat off, me go, oh no, put a big wad of scotch tape just
02:52on the top of his head. At least it looks like scotch tape, or it's maybe like one
02:55of that kind of gummy stuff that they applied to this. I guess they had to do
02:59that so that the Santa hat wouldn't end up falling off the head. It just means,
03:02though, that if you did want to take off the Santa's hat, which I'm just doing
03:05right now, it means that you have to also remove all this disgusting stickiness
03:09that's all across this. You know what? I have no real need for this. I'm just gonna
03:14take this off completely. Yeah, it looks like it's not it's not tape, necessarily.
03:18Or it may have originally started as tape, but it's all gummy and gooey. I
03:22just peel that off completely, because I did want to show you guys at least
03:26underneath that. There's a decent-looking head sculpt. I mean, of course, this does
03:30have the creep with his mouth open up. A really frightful creep, too. I think
03:33they've well painted the figure's head sculpt. Of course, you've got the hair
03:35swaying to the side here. That's nicely been done, as well. Painting, of course,
03:38just it seems like they've kind of just brushed across it with a little bit of
03:41white paint, but it does the job rather nicely. Yeah, I'm gonna probably have to
03:45get in there. Maybe see if I can maybe take myself a little bit of water or
03:48something. Just wipe away some of the goo. Like, you can just see. Oh, this is
03:51disgusting. Could they not have just had the hat sitting on top of his head? Did
03:55we need to add a little bit of adhesive? I mean, to go back and put the head back
03:59in place. I mean, it's a hard thing now to say this, because obviously there's
04:01just a little bit of stickiness keeping the hat in place. But I feel like, really,
04:05I mean, Clark never had this. Let's go back to Clark here for a second.
04:09Bringing Clark here. Obviously, I took his hat off. No, there was no stickiness at
04:13all on top of his head. Why did Creepshow need to have it? Or the creep, for that
04:17matter, had to have it. And yet Clark didn't. By the way, if you did want to
04:20see my review of the Clark Griswold, thank you for that in advance. Let's get
04:23this hat on top of his head. I guess you could really, as well, swap the hats
04:28around. But this one looks a little bit more like Clark Griswold's hat, even
04:30though he didn't have the little... I can't get this on his head... even though it
04:33didn't have those sleigh bells on the side. There we go. Get that back in place.
04:37Let's move Clark off to the side, though. He's gonna be watching the remaining of
04:40this review. Yeah, short of just the fact that there's a little bit of just gooey
04:43crap on the top of this, the head looks just as good without the hat as it does
04:47with it on. Again, one last look to look at this. Yeah, the teeth look gnarly. I
04:52can't imagine the creep is spending any bit of time, Christmas or not, to brush
04:56his teeth or just personal hygiene in general. The eyes are nicely done, as well.
04:59I love the way they've sculpted the nose. It's a really cool-looking creep.
05:03Unfortunately, though, it loses some of the illusion when you start looking at
05:05the rest of his body. Being, of course, that he's using a standard Mego body,
05:09means that basically underneath his tattered robe like this, he's basically
05:13just got a standard Mego body. Now, if you did want to, though, there are... there's a
05:16Velcro piece on the back here that you just attach this like that. And basically
05:21what you're seeing underneath is just a standard Mego body. This is actually
05:24dated for 2022. I don't feel like the figure is all that old. I mean, I just
05:29recently ordered this online, but it is possible, though, that the holiday creep
05:32may have come out several years ago. Of course, there is the Mego logo there, as
05:35well. It looks to be like they've also sculpted a belt, although the belt
05:39obviously doesn't come in handy at all when it comes to a character like the
05:42creep. But that's basically just the building block of how his body looks
05:45underneath. It also really kind of gives me also an opportunity to show you guys
05:48really how the build comes together, especially when it comes to his
05:50postability. But it sort of looks like he's gone to the hospital. You know, when
05:53you go to the hospital and they have to make you wear the holiday gowns or the
05:56hospital gowns, not the holiday gowns. And when you kind of walk into the
06:00hallway, you kind of have to always hold the back. Do you ever have that... ever had that
06:03happen? You know what? Don't let me know. Don't... don't let me know down
06:06below in the comments section. But, you know, it's just kind of funny. It does
06:08look like he's gone to the hospital here. Of course, the sleeves are all torn and
06:11tattered. I would imagine probably just as... has somebody just paid a worker at
06:16Mego just to take a pair of scissors and go snip, snip, snip, snip, snip? Oh, here's
06:19the next one. Snip, snip, snip, snip. Whoo! It's been a long day. I'm gonna have to go
06:23and take a break for lunch. But it looks like someone's literally just done that.
06:26I guess it's... it gets the job done, but it does sort of look like somebody just
06:29literally take a pair of tweezers or a pair of snips and just sort of start
06:34slicing some of the strands here. He's also got down below here as well. Now, the
06:38creep doesn't have any feet or any shoes on his feet whatsoever, so it kind of
06:41also gives you a chance as well to see what a standard Mego foot would look
06:44like underneath. From the front, it looks like a little bit more finished. I mean,
06:48obviously, let's... he's gonna get a bit of a draft, especially if he's standing
06:50outside some kid's window. Let's just do that up just like that. Do a little bit of
06:54Velcro. I mean, obviously, it gets the job done. You're only gonna be looking at it
06:56from the front anyways. Now, for the creep show's articulation, the creep is gonna
07:00have a standard ball joint for his head. It doesn't really look like... I guess you'd
07:03probably... yeah, I don't think it's so much a ball joint. It's just a straight
07:07standard swivel. So it allows the head to rotate back and forth. You can't really
07:11move it up and down. I'm gonna have to wash my hands, I think, after this review. Head moves,
07:17yeah, not much up and down. It does swivel, though, back and forth. His waist
07:20also does swivel. I want to say also that there is a ball joint, so you can
07:24move the torso all the way around as well. The arms do come out. I always find
07:28really, when it comes to Mego arms, they're the one thing of all the figure's
07:31body that you always really have to kind of struggle with. You can see if I just
07:34kind of roll up the sleeves here as well. So there's essentially like a... oof, don't
07:39get too close to the armpits of the creep. You can see that there's a hinge
07:41joint right there. The older Megos, I think, actually had like a wire system
07:45where they were basically like elastic bands sort of tied together on the
07:47inside of the body. They always kind of made for much looser bodies. I think the
07:51newer kind of Mego style bodies that they're using now work a little bit
07:54better. Again, while we have the sleeve up here, there's a swivel there in his arm.
07:57There's a single hinge there, too, so you can bend the arm back and forth. And the
08:01hands also rotate all the way around with just a single hinge.
08:05I don't think you're ever gonna get a double hinge, though, in his wrist, but
08:08just enough that you can actually move the hand back and forth. Let's bring those
08:10sleeves down. As for the legs, the legs split out. For all intents and purposes,
08:14if, obviously, you didn't have the robe on here, you'd be able to split the legs a
08:17little bit more. I guess, being that they have these little snips on the bottom of
08:20this, you can get almost a full splits, though, for the creep. The legs move
08:24forward. The legs move back. Yes, they do. There's a little bit of a swivel at the
08:28top there. When you also move up the leg here, you can see there's a single hinge.
08:31Be careful, by the way, when it comes to these figures. This is now the second
08:35time we have one other Mego figure coming your way this Christmas season.
08:38But I've noticed already with all of them, both Clark Griswold and now
08:42the Creep. When you get this guy out of the packaging, just double-check to
08:46make sure where the joint actually is. There's a couple of times, especially for
08:49the knees. The knees and the elbows are the two points of problems that you want
08:53to make sure that you've got the joint facing the right way. Maybe not as much
08:55for the knee for the Creep, but I did notice, though, with the elbow that when I
08:59rolled up the sleeve here, I noticed that the joint was facing kind of that way. So
09:03based on that, if you want to start to bend the arm forward and you didn't
09:07realize that the joint is going that way, running up the stairs. So just make sure
09:13you roll up the sleeve just a little bit. Just kind of ensure where that
09:16joint's supposed to be. It was over here when I started. It's over here when we
09:20started to hit record. Again, for the knees, the same idea. Single hinge there
09:24allows a little bit of a rotation down below. And then, of course, you've got your
09:27ankle pivot back and forth. A little bit of an ankle rocker there, too. If you're
09:31having any problems, though, getting this figure to stand, unfortunately, you're
09:33just out of luck. The figure doesn't have any pegs on the bottoms of his feet. I
09:36mean, he's fallen a couple of times. Luckily, knock on wood, he hasn't fallen
09:40at all in this review. Now that I've said that, now that I've said that, he's gonna
09:42take a tumble. Oh boy. But the creep looks good. I'm not probably gonna be putting
09:47him out on display with the other two creeps that we've gotten from NECA. This
09:51guy probably is gonna be front and center when it comes to only just the
09:53Christmas season. Again, if you don't really like the way he looks for the
09:56Christmas time, obviously you can easily just take off his scarf. You can so
09:59easily take off the Santa's hat and just have this guy displayed on the shelf
10:02with the regular creeps. Does the face sculpt look good? I think so, yes. Again,
10:06like when you're looking at the body, though, for the creep, I mean, clearly he's
10:09just obviously using a regular Mego body. So he's gonna look a little out of place
10:13with, say, like a NECA figure. I guess maybe what you could always really do is
10:17if you happen to pick yourself up another another creep from NECA, I wonder,
10:21I wonder, you probably may be able to take off the head completely. You may
10:24have to kind of tool around, maybe change a little bit of the ball socket
10:27underneath the head, but you might even be able to use the head with maybe one
10:30of these bodies. I'm not gonna try that because I don't want to break. I only
10:32have one of these guys, so I certainly don't want to break him. And again, here's
10:35what he also looks like with Clark Griswold. Mego, again, you either like him
10:40or you dislike him. I mean, I generally like them for the charm and like kind of
10:43the vintage look that Mego would have had. Like some of the stuff that I would
10:46have collected back in the day. I had a Mego Superman for like so long. It ended up
10:50breaking. My parents end up realizing, oh boy, our son's broke. I think it was the
10:54elbow that actually broke on my Superman. And sure enough, nice enough parents, they
10:58went out and bought another Mego Superman for me. So I grew up loving Mego, at
11:01least Mego Superman. Now, as an adult, obviously more into the realm of horror.
11:06I mean, getting a Christmas Creep, whether you want to have him displayed with the
11:09other NECA figures or not, is a nice welcomed addition to the current
11:12Christmas collection I have right now. So while it is a bit sad that the Creep's
11:15tree is gonna be a bit bare this year for accessories, he still turned out to
11:18be a nice-looking figure. I feel, though, while not maybe including plastic
11:22accessories from a budget standpoint, I don't think Mego would have spent much
11:25at all just to include little folded up pieces of cardboard to look like Creep
11:29Show magazines. I'm sure it's probably something I could probably do myself. Hmm,
11:32now that I think about it, did NECA's include perhaps magazines I could pillage
11:35for at least the holiday season? Have them maybe displayed with this guy? I mean,
11:39come on, though, Mego. I know when we looked at the Clark Griswold, for
11:42example, you never include those little moose mugs. But I mean, those would have
11:45been plastic. Cardboard? I mean, how much would it have taken to include cardboard
11:49accessories? Either way, though, if again you don't like the look of Creep Show
11:53Creep here displayed as a holiday fix, you can certainly as well display this
11:56guy obviously without the hat. Obviously, you're gonna probably also have to peel
12:00off all that gooey crap that's underneath the hat if you want to
12:03display him without it. But you can also as well take off the scarf. Two things
12:06that only are the things that represent this guy for the holiday season. Without
12:09that, though, he's just a good stand-in creep. I still have to wonder, though,
12:13could you maybe use this head if you happen to have a couple of NECA Creep
12:16Show Creeps just kicking around and they don't have a place or a purpose for you?
12:19Maybe you could maybe even use this head sculpt and display with a NECA body
12:23instead. For top to bottom again, if you know what you're getting into when
12:27it comes to Migo, I feel like you won't be disappointed picking up this figure.
12:30If you're one that never likes Migo in the first place, no matter what praises I
12:34sell this guy behind the camera, you're not gonna be at all interested to pick
12:38him up. But I think he's got a well-painted face. Even though the rest of
12:41his body is pretty bare, he has enough going for him that I know who the
12:44character is right away. What do you guys think of the holiday creep? Let me know
12:47down below in the comments section. I figure you could see yourselves picking
12:51up or I figure you're gonna pass on completely. If you guys though it did
12:55enjoy this video, do it a solid third like. You guys want to stick around for
12:57more? I hope so. Hit that subscribe, turn on that bell and come back. As always,
13:02thanks for watching. See you guys next time!
